2PM’s Junho And Lee Se Young Begin An Emotional Love Story In “The Red Sleeve Cuff” Teaser

A new teaser has been revealed for “The Red Sleeve Cuff”!

 

Based on a novel, “The Red Sleeve Cuff” is a traditional historical drama that tells the record of an imperial court romance between court lady Seong Deok Im (Lee Se Young), who wanted to protect the life she had chosen, and emperor Yi San (2PM’s Junho), who put the nation first before love.

 

The teaser released on October 21 begins by giving a glimpse of Yi San and Seong Deok Im living their own lives inside the palace. Yi San expresses, “The heaven’s order has come to me, bearing me, one person, the responsibility of one country’s fate.” Meanwhile, Deok Im says, “There’s not much I can do here. I want to be able to make a choice, even if it’s something small.”

 

However, romance begins to bloom between the two very different individuals. Yi San harshly asks Seong Deok Im, “You’re going to protect me when you’re just a court lady?” but Deok Im firmly responds, “I will protect you until the day I die.” Their moment of eye contact previews their emotional love story ahead.

 

The teaser also gives a glimpse of supporting characters including Hong Deok Ro (Kang Hoon), King Yeongjo (Lee Deok Hwa), the Chief Court Lady (Park Ji Young), and Queen Kim (Jang Hee Jin).

 

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” is set to premiere on November 5.

MBC shared a behind-the-scenes clip of 2PM’s Junho and Lee Se Young filming the teasers and posters for “The Red Sleeve Cuff”!

 

“The Red Sleeve Cuff” is a traditional historical drama that tells the record of an imperial court romance between Seong Deok Im (Lee Se Young), a court lady who wants to protect the life that she has chosen, and emperor Yi San (Junho), who puts the nation first before love.

 

The behind-the-scenes clip starts with Junho saying, “Today was the first time that we had skinship [close physical contact].” Lee Se Young looks confused and says, “Was this the first time?” Junho explains, “It was the first time that we did a back hug.” He then asks her if she’s remembering anything else, and she responds, “We did a regular hug when we were doing test shoots.” The video then shared a never-before-seen glimpse of the two actors exchanging a hug in character for the test shoots.

 

Junho then says, “Of the scripts we’ve received so far, there’s nothing like hugging. Not even a little. We’ve only done it a little for teasers and test shoots.”

 

Although many of the teasers and posters involve Seong Deok Im and Yi San looking at each other in longing, the actors have trouble keeping a straight face as they gaze into each other’s eyes. MBC’s upcoming drama “The Red Sleeve” has shared a sneak peek of the bromance between between 2PM’s Junho, Kang Hoon, and Oh Dae Hwan.

 

Based on a novel, “The Red Sleeve” is a traditional historical drama that tells the record of an imperial court romance between court lady Seong Deok Im (Lee Se Young), who wanted to protect the life she had chosen, and emperor Yi San (Junho), who put the nation first before love.

 

Not only does the drama boast of a timeless love between Seong Deok Im and Yi San, but it also includes the loyal friendship between Yi San, Hong Deok Ro (Kang Hoon), and Kang Tae Ho (Oh Dae Hwan). Hong Deok Ro is a government official whose goal is to make sure Yi San wins the throne, and Kang Tae Ho is Yi San’s faithful bodyguard.

 

The newly released stills give a glimpse of Yi San’s relationship with the two characters who help him on his path to becoming the next king.
