Jo Yeon-ju (Honey Lee) is a prosecutor and the only daughter of the gangster gang leader Seopyeong Nammun group. She had a car accident while chasing a suspect who was too similar to her, and after waking up from an unconscious state, she is the youngest daughter of a conglomerate in the top 20 in the business world, and the daughter-in-law of a leading BK group in Korea who lives frivolously from unwanted marriages.

Han Seung Woo  (Lee Sang Yoon) is a chaebol who still has pure feelings about his first love. Although he left Korea because he felt the cold-bloodedness of money and power through a fight for inheritance, the character steps up again to find the truth behind his father’s dishonorable death. In the process, he meets his first love again, and he strives to not lose the things he has been given anymore.

Ahn Yoo Joon (Lee Won Geun) is Jo Yeon Joo’s  colleague of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He is handsome, smart, and humble, and he is loved by the professors of the institute. Both of his parents are professors, and they speak formally to each other as well as their own children. Ahn Yoo Joon went to a private elementary school, international middle school, and foreign language high school. Due to his well-educated background and sweet personality, all the professors want him as their son-in-law. He was always surrounded by elite people with wealthy backgrounds and good education, so he falls for the refreshing charms of the bold and strong Jo Yeon Joo.

One The Woman is an upcoming drama about an amnesiac who ends up switching places with a chaebol daughter-in-law who looks exactly like her. Currently, Kim Ah-joong (Live Up to Your Name) has been reported as the frontrunner for this role. Lee Sang-yoon (VIP) is also being courted as the male lead.

Kim Ah-joong’s character is the only daughter of a mafia leader. She’s also a prosecutor that investigates corruption, bribery, and prostitution. Somehow, she loses her memory and switches places with a quiet daughter-in-law of a chaebol family. Lee Sang-yoon’s character is a chaebol who has never forgotten his first love; according to the reports, it’s not clear whether he is actually her husband or another chaebol in their circle.

In any case, I’d be interested to see this match-up take place. If they both accept it will be the first time they’ve ever worked together. I do hope that Lee Sang-yoon’s character is more like his My Daughter Seo-young persona than his shady VIP or weak Defendant personas. I like his acting, but he does shine better when his female counterpart is also a strong actress. As for Kim Ah-joong, I’ve loved her in comedies (e.g. 200 Pound Beauty), so hopefully the script will lean zany and not too melo.

On December 30, MyDaily reported that Lee Sang Yoon has been confirmed to star as the lead of the SBS drama “One the Woman” (literal title). Previously, Ilgan Sports had also reported that Kim Ah Joong had been cast as the lead for the same show.

Following reports, a source from SBS clarified, “Kim Ah Joong and Lee Sang Yoon are positively reviewing offers to star in the drama.”

“One the Woman” is about a corrupt female prosecutor trying to find her memories after getting amnesia and switching lives with a modest chaebol daughter-in law who looks exactly the same as her.

Recently, SBS drama One the Woman confirmed its two leads, Lee Sang-yoon (VIP) and Honey Lee (Killing Romance, The Fiery Priest). It’s a comedy about a corrupt prosecutor who ends up getting amnesia and accidentally switches lives with a chaebol family’s daughter-in-law that looks just like her.

 

Honey Lee is set to play two characters: rich daughter-in-law Kang Mina and corrupt prosecutor Jo Yeon-joo. Lee Sang-yoon will be playing a third generation chaebol who still has feelings for his first love. Whether they’ll be playing wife and husband is not yet clear.

Former EXID member Park Jung-hwa (Member of Society) has also joined the cast. Her character is an ambitious news anchor who comes from a “dirt spoon” background and dreams of marrying into a chaebol family.

 

I’m super pumped to see Honey Lee in a drama again. Although her character sounds like a continuation of her role in The Fiery Priest, I’m totally okay with that. She wholeheartedly embraced the absurd comedy of her role as an opportunistic prosecutor, and she completely rocked it.
