that was princess aurora. :D

Bad omen....that one was 150 episodes long too :surprisedwut:

And it doesn't bode well - read the following:

During its run, Princess Aurora became a fixture in the entertainment news headlines for both its over-the-top (called makjang in Korean) storylines and behind-the-scenes troubles.

On the 39th episode, the characters Oh Geum-sung and Oh Soo-sung (older brothers of the female protagonist) suddenly left for the United States to visit their wives. This meant that they were essentially written off the show. The actors playing them, Son Chang-min and Oh Dae-gyu, complained to the network that they weren't informed in advance of this development, and neither were their agencies; everyone, including the drama crew, only found out when they received the script before the scenes were to be filmed. This was reportedly writer Im Sung-han's decision; the actors had previously expressed their concerns to her about the storytelling's direction. The Korean press used the term "cast kill" to refer to the tendency of Im's past dramas (such as Dear Heaven, Assorted Gems, New Tales of Gisaeng) to abruptly kill off characters. In terms of production logistics, the fired actors still received the agreed-upon fixed salary for the duration of the series, regardless of screen time. But Im's move had possible legal ramifications, and she was criticized for unprofessionalism, since the actors signed on to the drama (and turned down other offers) with the expectation that their roles would be prominent.[3]

As the show went on, Im wrote out more actors (more than 12 in total), resulting in a reportedly deteriorating atmosphere on set and notoriety in the press. With some characters killed off unceremoniously, viewers dubbed the series "Im Sung-han's Death Note," culminating in the death of male protagonist Hwang Ma-ma (played by Oh Chang-seok). Dissatisfaction with Im mounted when it became known that one of the cast members, Baek Ok-dam, is her niece. Netizens charged Im with nepotism when Baek's role was expanded in the wake of the firing of other cast members.

Princess Aurora also received warnings from the Korea Communications Standards Commissions, which cited the drama's "multiple immoral storylines and crude language" as violations of its standards. It was sanctioned for material unsuitable for younger audiences, since it aired during the early evening at 19:15.

As ratings continued to climb, the initially 120-episode drama received a 30-episode extension, bringing its final episode count to 150. However, Im asked for 50 additional episodes (in order to bring up the final count to 200), stating that she needed the additional time to flesh out her storylines. Calling the series "an insult to viewers' intelligence," viewers then organized a petition to protest the extension and demanded that Im be fired from the show. After it was leaked that Im was being paid ₩30 million (US$30,000) per episode (nearly ₩5 billion or US$5 million in total), the petition gained further traction; the initial goal was collecting 1,000 signatures, but the petition ultimately ended up with over 20,000 signatures.

MBC eventually decided to end the series at 150 episodes, but retained Im as writer (although the network demanded rewrites for the scripts of the final two episodes). On December 11, 2013, Im posted a message on the show's website, "thanking netizens and reporters for their constancy in pointing out her flaws, and hoped that they would once again note her failings.

The last few episodes had been draggy with SM's story expanded, tonight's episode is doing nothing to the main story.

They seem to be introducing another side story: the chairman and the lounge madam. JK may even be given a new life. Not interested in either.

Extra 30? I think 120 is already long. We are getting filler episodes, filler stories and most likely filler characters for JM's story. Don't forget the lost bakery baby.

Wait a minute, the drama has been extended by 50 episodes?! Holy shimata! I really need to catch up! And the drama must be doing really well for an extension like that!

I don't think for very long, they are padding it with side shows. BSH becoming a business woman is going to take many episodes.

I am not looking forward to the addition, not at all.

Really? I always look forward to the protagonist getting a corporate level up. It means she can fight against JK and MSH more fairly. So far she's been doing pretty well for an FL in a revenge daily drama.

But I do agree. The drama is eventually gonna get draggy at some point. And with SBS basically cutting off their daily dramas, there's not much for daily junkies like myself to watch.

@Lunkera I haven't watched either drama at all (in fact, I'm still trying to find Miss Mermaid online with subs) but based on the news reports I read... it was baaaad.

it looks like mbc finally has a hit in daily drama compared to their last three dramas.

1. last supper had a highest of 7% but it mostly ranged around 5-6%.

2. my wonderful life did poorly in the first half (under 5%) and in the second half seemed to hit its stride and was getting between 5-8%.

3. bad love had a similar run where the first half was under 5% while the second half ranged between 5-7%.

so second husband in comparison is doing extraordinarly well and has been received well. it hit 5% by ep 17 and has been steadily rising and now between 8-9%. so looks like the station got excited and decided to try capture more of that magic. hope the writer is able to work magic. there are several birth secrets floating around -- bakery child?, jae kyung, jae min, sae chool -- and so there can be multiple arcs that happen. plus, we have filler characters like gold digger who can be looped back in. fingers crossed!

I like this drama but 30 more episodes? so 150 episodes ? I'm sorry to tell you, but expect more twists, so with amnesia but for whom? I think it will be for the male lead JM, a separation for the two leads also will come, or else SH will believe that they are brothers and sisters, I have the impression that they will destroy this drama, therefore new characters are also coming. I find it too much to bring back so many episodes, it's a shame but I ask to see

But now, MSH and YJK are almost down and out, getting kicked out of the Yoon's and Dae Kook (almost) too. We are just waiting for the last stab in their plan, thats all. Even 20 episodes for that are long.

With with 50 more episodes, we will surely have draggy plot-lines.

They better have interesting stuffs for us....

I think they could explore the path of JM's disease so that they discover that he was adopted rather than amnesia. If they can use 5 episodes for each development surely they can get to 40 so they will explain in detail how JM was adopted and what JK's mom did to get her, the death of the husband of the bakery and find his lost daughter, punish all the bad guys with the jail, SH head of the company, the jealousy of men for SH to those who conquer his heart and I think there will be the divorce of the ex with JK, then in the final the marriage of the protagonists an entire episode.

How is that a plot hole? It was explained that they couldn't find her until now.

My questioning of plot hole is that fact that it'd be given to her at age 25, first of all is it Korean age or international age? Second why 25 because 18 is legal adult and 20-21 is coming of age. The age of 25 just doesn't make sense for me. I probably shouldn't have referred to it as a pothole though, it's just generally specifying the age means something usually but just arbitrary here.
