    Story

Ahn Hyo Seop Confirmed As Male Lead In Upcoming SBS Rom-Com

Ahn Hyo Seop has chosen his next project!

On June 10, it was confirmed that the actor will be starring in the upcoming SBS drama “Office Blind Date” (literal title).

“Office Blind Date” is a romantic comedy about an office employee who goes on a blind date with her company’s CEO in place of a friend while hiding her identity. The story was first published by author Hae Hwa as a web novel in 2017 and produced into a webtoon in 2018. In August 2020, KakaoPage announced that they would be adapting the web novel and webtoon into a drama.

Ahn Hyo Seop will play third generation chaebol Kang Tae Mu who has stunning looks, a genius brain, and impressive skills as a businessman. He is a workaholic who loves work more than himself, and he hates lies more than anything. Although a nearly perfect man, he struggles with love due to past trauma.

Jo Bo Ah was first revealed to be in talks to play the female lead Kang Ha Ri in March, and it was later announced in May that Kim Sejeong is in talks for the role.

Ahn Hyo Seop debuted in 2015 and rose to fame with dramas such as “30 but 17,” “Abyss,” and “Dr. Romantic 2.” He is currently gearing up for the historical drama “Red Sky” with Kim Yoo Jung.

“Office Blind Date” will begin filming in the second half of this year and premiere in the first half of 2022 via SBS.

Kim Sejeong Joins Ahn Hyo Seop In Talks For New Rom-Com Drama Based On Webtoon

Kim Sejeong and Ahn Hyo Seop may star in a new romance drama together!

On May 6, Sports Chosun reported that Kim Sejeong had been cast as the female lead in the upcoming drama “Office Blind Date” (literal title).

In response, a source from Kim Sejeong’s agency Jellyfish Entertainment clarified, “Kim Sejeong has received an offer to star in ‘Office Blind Date’ and is reviewing it.”

“Office Blind Date” is a romantic comedy about an office employee who goes on a blind date with her company’s CEO in place of a friend while hiding her identity. The story was first published by author Hae Hwa as a web novel in 2017 and produced into a webtoon in 2018. In August 2020, KakaoPage announced that they would be adapting the web novel and webtoon into a drama.

Kim Sejeong was offered the role of Shin Ha Ri, a regular office employee. When she goes on a blind date in place of her friend, she’s shocked to realize that her date is her company’s CEO.

It was previously revealed that Ahn Hyo Seop is in talks for the male lead role Kang Tae Mu, while Jo Bo Ah is considering an offer for the same role as Kim Sejeong.

Kim Sejeong has been steadily building her acting career. Her latest drama, OCN’s “The Uncanny Counter,” achieved the highest ratings in OCN history for its finale. It was recently shared that Kim Sejeong is also in discussion to star in the Korean remake of the Japanese drama “Sleepeeer Hit!”

Kim Se Jong will return to the small screen with ‘The Office Blind Date.’

According to Jellyfish Entertainment, Kim was officially cast to play Shin Ha Ri, the quick and lively female lead of The Office Blind Date.

This new romantic comedy series revolves around the CEO and his employee who met on a blind date under their false identity. The original web novel was published in 2017, and the webtoon version was released the following year. These two versions have garnered 320 million cumulative views worldwide.

Shin Ha Ri, played by Kim, lacks 2% in everything. In her family, her perfect mother and sister are at the center of attention. In school, a friend from the chaebol family overshadows her. But she still is the most energetic and optimistic person you’ll ever meet. One day, she goes on a blind date on behalf of her chaebol friend, and there, she meets her boss Kang Tae Moo.

Earlier, Ahn Hyo Seop has officially joined the project to play Kang Tae Moo, the perfect guy who has it all. Naturally, attention focuses on the sweet romance Kim and Ahn will present.

“I had so much fun reading the script. And I was convinced that the writer, director, and the actors will have a lot of fun working together,” Kim shared. “It’s my first time starring in a rom-com, so I’m really nervous. But I’m preparing so hard, from my looks to my acting, so please look forward to it a lot.”

The Office Blind Date will start filming in the second half of this year and be aired earlier next year.
