JTBC shared some photos and a video of the script reading for their upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “39” (literal title)!

“39” is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old women who encounter unforeseen circumstances in their lives.

Attending the reading were director Kim Sang Ho, writer Yoo Young Ah, and cast members Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun, Yeon Woo Jin, Lee Moo Saeng, and Lee Tae Hwan.

Son Ye Jin plays Cha Mi Jo, the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. Jeon Mi Do plays Jung Chan Young, an acting teacher who previously dreamed of becoming an actress, and Kim Ji Hyun plays Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager.

The three actresses flawlessly portrayed the close friendship of their characters. They showcased natural chemistry by saying rough lines in an affectionate manner, and they depicted their characters’ hardships in such an effective manner that it made everyone at the script reading tear up and hold their breaths.

Son Ye Jin skillfully expressed Cha Mi Jo’s wisdom and warmth, while Jeon Mi Do overwhelmed everyone with her performance as she represented Jung Chan Young’s honest and outspoken nature. Kim Ji Hyun exuded lovely charms as she transformed into Jang Joo Hee to pull out the character’s pure and silly sides.

Yeon Woo Jin, Lee Moo Saeng, and Lee Tae hwan will create romance and tension with these three actresses. First off, Yeon Woo Jin will take the role of Kim Sun Woo, a dermatologist who works at the same hospital as Cha Mi Jo. Yeon Woo Jin created a heart-fluttering atmosphere at the script reading by portraying Kim Sun Woo’s sweet and thoughtful charms and his pure love for one woman.

Lee Moo Saeng will turn into Kim Jin Seok, the CEO of Champ Entertainment. “39” is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old women who encounter unforeseen circumstances in their lives.

Son Ye Jin plays Cha Mi Jo, the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. Jeon Mi Do takes the role of Jung Chan Young, an acting teacher who previously dreamed of becoming an actress, and Kim Ji Hyun stars as Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager.

The newly released teaser shares a glimpse of their sweet and steadfast friendship. The caption reads, “They’re always romantic and happy to be together,” hinting how the three women can get through anything as long as they have each other.

Cha Mi Jo, Jung Chan Young, and Jang Joo Hee do everything together including going to the massage parlor, clubbing, and eating delicious food. The three have very different personalities though. First off, Cha Mi Jo exudes grace and beauty, and she randomly declares, “I’m going to study abroad. To study golf.”

Jung Chan Young has a fiery personality, and she blurts out sharp words whenever she’s irritated. She tells Kim Jin Seok (Lee Moo Saeng), her love interest, “I quit smoking. I’m going to quit you too.”
