JTBC’s upcoming drama “39” (literal title) released its first poster!

 

“39” is about three friends who met in their second year of high school and are now on the verge of turning 40. The drama will tell the beautiful and emotional everyday stories of three 39-year-old woman who encounter unforeseen circumstances.

 

Son Ye Jin will play Cha Mi Jo, the head dermatologist of a clinic in Gangnam. She is a warm character who grew up in a wealthy environment with a caring family and everything she could wish for.

 

Jeon Mi Do will take on the role of Jung Chan Young, who dreamed of becoming an actress but ended up becoming an acting teacher instead. Although her way of speaking may seem blunt and harsh, the sincerity in her words makes her a character impossible to hate.

 

Kim Ji Hyun will transform into Jang Joo Hee, a department store cosmetics manager. Due to her timid personality, she has yet to really experience a romantic relationship.

 

The newly released poster shares a glimpse of the trio’s close friendship. Cha Mi Jo, Jung Chan Young, and Jang Hoo Jee have their arms around each other, and their smiles are warmer than the sunlight. The poster exudes comfort and happiness with the bright background and cheerful bubbles surrounding the characters.

 

Fate brought Cha Mi Jo, Jung Chan Young, and Jang Hoo Jee together at the tender age of 18, and they’ve remained friends ever since. Covid positive case has been reported from a  <Thirty, Nine> team member and Son Yejin shooting is CANCELLED TODAY.   She and her Mijo team are currently in isolation until result is cleared.  We wish Son Yejin and everyone to be safe & healthy!!

One of the most anticipated JTBC dramas "Thirty-Nine," is confirmed to air in the first half of 2022.

On December 15th, JTBC released the first-ever poster of the upcoming drama "Thirty-Nine." It featured the three main leads Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, and Kim Ji Hyun. It was also revealed through the poster that the drama will air in February 2022. It will be part of the Wednesday-Thursday timeslot. 

In the newly released poster, the close friendship of the three 39-year-old women was shown. The three women were in each others' arms while happily posing for the photo in the warm autumn sunlight. The caption in the poster also stated, "We didn't know we were so friendly with each other." Cha Mi Jo, Jeong Chan Young, and Jang Hoo Jee actually became friends when they were 18. They were there for each other ever since and have an unchanged friendship.

"Thirty-Nine" is a drama that will narrate the stories about friendship, love, and life of three friends who are about to turn 40 years old. The series will be directed by Kim Sang Ho and written by Yoo Young Ah. Produced by  JTBC Studio and Lotte Culture Works.

The Plot

The Cast

Son Ye Jin will portray Cha Mi-jo, a successful and well-off dermatologist who heads a clinic in Gangnam. Her character is said to have grown up in a charmed household, coddled by her caring father, generous mother, and her supportive older sister.

 

Hospital Playlist star Jeon Mi Do was also confirmed for the show's main cast. She'll be taking on the role of the brutally frank Jung Chan-young. After failing to achieve her dream of becoming an actress, the 39-year-old settles for teaching the craft instead.

 

 

Rounding up the show’s main trio is Kim Ji Hyun, who’s best known in South Korea as a theater actress. That said, she’s had her fair share of TV roles before, including playing minor characters on known titles like Backstreet Rookie, Romance is a Bonus Book, Prison Playbook, and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes.

 

Thirty-Nine marks Ji Hyun’s first time top-billing a K-drama. She’s set to play Jang Joo-hee, a timid cosmetics manager at a department store, who’s never been in a proper romantic relationship.
