Lady Jane's acting debut, 'The Black Bride' is a Netflix original drama starring Kim Hee-sun, Lee Hyun-wook, Jung Yu-jin, Park Hoon, and Cha Ji-yeon. Writer Lee Geun-young, who wrote SBS 'I'm a mother,' and 'Mother is my daughter-in-law', and director Kim Jung-min, who directed OCN's 'Bad Guys' and Channel A's 'Weekdays 3pm Lovers', took over the directing. As Kim Hee-sun's first OTT drama, it gathered a lot of attention from the planning stage.

 

Lady Jane has joined the filming of 'The Black Bride' since last year, and she appears in the play as a broadcast station announcer who dreams of raising her status through a splendid marriage. For about two years, she steadily took her acting classes, preparing to transform into an actress, and for this role, she cut her long, straight hair, which she had grown for a long time, into a short bob.

 

 

She made her debut as a vocalist in the indie band Archibird, and Lady Jane, who was called the original 'Hongdae Goddess' at the time, became famous. Since then, she has expanded her field of broadcasting with her activities as a singer, and she has appeared as a regular guest on programs in various fields with her broad interests such as fashion, economy and science as well as pop culture such as music. She is especially loved by her on her radio, and in 2015 she was the main DJ for KBS 2FM's 'Dong-Min Jang, Lady Jane's Two O'Clock'.

Kim Mi Kyung to join the cast of Netflix original series "Remarriage and Desires"

Kim Mi Kyung is confirmed to join the upcoming Netflix original series "Remarriage and Desires."

On February 2nd media outlet StarNews shared that veteran actress Kim Mi Kyung will participate in the upcoming drama "Remarriage and Desires." The actress already took part in the filming of the series. 

"Remarriage and Desires" will revolve around the remarriage market. It will showcase an exclusive matchmaking agency that works with women who strive to marry a desirable bachelor and into the highest echelon of society.

The original series will be helmed by director Kim Jung Min ("Secret Royal Inspector" and "Bad Guys") and writer  Lee Geun Young ("I'm a Mother, Too" and "My Mother is a Daughter-In-Law"). The drama will reportedly have 8 episodes and it will exclusively air on Netflix. 

Kim Mi Kyung will be working with Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hyun Wook, Cha Ji Yeon, Jung Eugene, Park Hoon, and Kim Yun Seo. She will play as the chairman of a self-made venture company.

"Remarriage and Desires" will be released this summer and it will be available to 190 countries around the world through Netflix. 

 

 

 

This will be Kim Mi Kyung's second drama for the year. Before she appears on "Remarriage and Desires," she will first join the soon-to-air drama "Forecasting Love and Weather" with Park Min Young, Song Kang, Yoon Park, Girls Day Yura, and more. 

The actress is known for starring in the hit dramas "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," "Another Miss Oh," "It's Okay, That's Love," "The Heirs," "The Master's Sun," "I Hear Your Voice," "Missing You," "Secret Garden," "Sungkyunkwan Scandal," and more. 

Kim Mi Kyung last starred in the 2020 drama "18 Again" as Yeo In Ja, Kim Ha Neul's character's mother.  She also made a special appearance in the 2021 dramas "She Would Never Know," "Sell Your Haunted House," and "Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?".

Starring Kim Hee Sun, Lee Hyun Wook, Jung Yoo Jin, Park Hoon, and Cha Ji Yeon, the upcoming Netflix series revolves around Rex, a matchmaking agency that specializes in the remarriages of ambitious clients who strive to marry rich spouses. The five actors portray people who gather at Rex for different reasons. The drama is helmed by producing director (PD) Kim Jung Min (“Bad Guys,” “Squad 38”).

Kim Hee Sun will take the role of Seo Hye Seung, a middle-class woman who reunites with the person who turned her life upside down at Rex and participates in a race of desire for revenge.

The newly released poster shows Kim Hee Sun’s drastic transformation into Seo Hye Seung, who jumps into the business of marriage between the members of the elite for revenge. Seo Hye Seung looks beautiful in a white wedding dress, but her cold eyes under the black veil show the anger she has harbored. The text on the poster reads, “Her revenge begins,” hinting the reason she has joined the matchmaking agency.

The characters are all dressed in luxurious attire, but their positions on the staircase give a hint about their wealth status. Seo Hye Seung is at the very bottom, and Jin Yoo Hee and Choi Yoo Seon are slightly above her with the CEO of Rex at a higher level than the lawyer. However, at the very top is Lee Hyeong Joo, whose gaze is pinned on Seo Hye Seung. The text on the poster reads, “A high-class marriage business dealing in desires,” hinting this is no ordinary matchmaking agency.

 

 

The drama also unveiled an intriguing teaser that starts off with Seo Hye Seung applying lipstick on her lips with a determined look on her face. She arrives at Rex, and Choi Yoo Seon greets her. Choi Yoo Seon promises, “With Rex, you’ll surely meet a great partner.” To her clients, she declares, “Marriage is a business. Find someone who fits the criteria first, then look for love.”

Jin Yoo Hee shows her ambitious side as she claims, “I’m going to form the perfect family with the perfect man.” She hands something to Choi Yoo Seon and says, “Support me. You’ll get much more in return,” which also shows her desperation to achieve her lofty goal.

However, Seo Hye Seung gets in the way of her plans, and the two are spotted in a tense war of nerves that involves physical violence. Seo Hye Seung claims she wants to win, and Choi Yoo Seon remarks, “Become stronger. Strong enough to have the entire world under your feet. Isn’t that what revenge is?” Seo Hye Seung bravely tells her nemesis, “You’ll never have it your way,” and towards the end of the video, she claims, “I’m going to destroy her at her happiest moment.

“Remarriage & Desires” revolves around Rex, a matchmaking agency that specializes in the remarriages of ambitious clients who strive to marry rich spouses. The drama is helmed by producing director (PD) Kim Jung Min (“Bad Guys,” “Squad 38”).

Kim Hee Sun will star as Seo Hye Seung, an ordinary wife and mother who loses everything due to the sudden death of her husband, who was having an extramarital affair and asked her for a divorce. She tries to rebuild her life with her daughter, but after learning that Jin Yoo Hee (Jung Yoo Jin), the one who drove her husband to his death and ruined her and her daughter’s lives, has entered Rex in order to enter the wealthy class, she participates in a race of revenge.

Kim Jung Min commented, “I was hoping an actress with eyes that could reveal Seo Hye Seung’s complicated inner side [would play the role], and Kim Hee Sun was the perfect one.”
