tvN’s upcoming drama “Happiness” (literal title) has shared a sneak peek of Park Hyung Sik and Lee Joon Hyuk as bickering partners!

“Happiness” is an apocalyptic thriller that takes place in the near future, set in a high-rise apartment building stratified by social standing. The building is sealed off when a new infectious disease emerges in the city, and the drama will depict the residents’ fear, fierce psychological battles, and desperate struggle for survival within the closed-off building.

Han Hyo Joo will star in the drama as Yoon Sae Bom, a tactical agent in the Seoul Police Special Operations Unit, while Park Hyung Sik will star as Jung Yi Hyun, her former high school classmate who has feelings for her.

Although Jung Yi Hyun was once a promising young baseball star, he was forced to leave the sport behind due to an injury. He eventually wound up becoming a police detective in the violent crimes unit, where he met his reliable partner Kim Jung Kook (played by Lee Joon Hyuk). The two detectives are polar opposites: as a former athlete, Jung Yi Hyun isn’t afraid to get physical on the job and is even willing to get into fights if necessary. Kim Jung Kook, on the other hand, believes in stepping back to look at the big picture and waiting things out.

As a veteran detective and senior colleague, Kim Jung Kook doesn’t hold back or sugarcoat things when scolding his younger partner. However, he also guides him as a sincere and experienced mentor when Jung Yi Hyun embarks on a new path after letting go of baseball.

Despite their vastly different personalities and approaches to investigations, the two cops also make the perfect pair of partners in a crisis. When chaos breaks out in the city due to the new infectious disease, Jung Yi Hyun and Kim Jung Kook are both trapped together in the apartment building, where they attempt to maintain order among the panicked residents and do everything they can for the common good.

The producers of “Happiness” teased, “The bickering chemistry between Jung Yi Hyun and Kim Jung Kook, who have known each other for so long that there’s nothing they don’t know about one another, will add another element of fun to the drama.”

They continued, “Please tune in to find out whether they will be able to overcome the danger of this extreme, life-threatening chaos through their tight-knit, long-lasting partnership.”

TVING’s upcoming original drama “Happiness” (literal title) has released character posters of its three leads!

“Happiness” is an apocalyptic thriller that takes place in the near future in a high-rise apartment building stratified by social status. The building is sealed off when a new infectious disease emerges in the city, and the drama will depict the residents’ fear, fierce psychological battles, and desperate struggles for survival inside the closed-off building.

Han Hyo Joo stars as Yoon Sae Bom, a tactical agent in the Seoul Police Special Operations Unit, Park Hyung Sik stars as Jung Yi Hyun, her former high school classmate and a police detective in the violent crimes division, and Jo Woo Jin stars as Han Tae Suk, the man in the Armed Forces Medical Command in charge of finding the source of the disease and stopping its spread.

Yoon Sae Bom has been dreaming of getting an apartment in this building for a long time. But when she finally achieved her dream, the place she thought would represent safety and stability became a place of danger instead. Before she could live a life of quiet happiness, the building was sealed off and threatened with a new infectious disease. Her character poster reads, “It’s quite difficult to find happiness.”

Jung Yi Hyun, who ends up living with Yoon Sae Bom after her surprise offer, also struggles to maintain the public good amid extreme chaos. He wants to protect the things that are precious to him and return to his ordinary life. His optimism is represented in his poster caption, which reads, “No matter what happens, it will all pass by.”

Although Han Tae Suk represents the man in charge of stamping out the disease, his poster caption adds a new and mysterious layer of motivation. It reads, “If there’s something I really want, I won’t surrender it,” prompting curiosity about what he’s hiding as he fights to control the spread of the disease.

The production staff of “Happiness” stated, “This is a story about ordinary people faced with extreme danger. It will be an exciting story of what happens when they have to struggle to survive in the midst of unimaginable fear and terror.”

“Happiness” is directed by Ahn Gil Ho (“Watcher,” “Memories of the Alhambra,” “Record of Youth,” “Forest of Secrets”) and written by Han Sang Woon (“Watcher,” “The Good Wife”).

3rd Teaser

'Happiness' Han Hyo-joo and Park Hyung-sik, daily life destroyed by a mysterious infectious disease... Trailer Revealed

http://img.stoo.com/upimages/gisaimg/202110/23_753231_69086.jpg

'Happiness' Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik, and Jo Woo-jin fight to regain happiness in their broken daily life.

The trailer released on this day creates an unusual atmosphere with the blood-stained floor and curtains, and the unread message of 'I'm fine, Mom'. Yoon Sae-bom's voice, “Can we go back again?” makes us guess that the day they face today is completely different from the ordinary yesterday. It is none other than a new infectious disease that has ruined everyone's daily life. Just like Jeong Yi-hyun’s warning that “if the number of outbreaks increases, the spirit completely collapses,” the runaway of the infected who loses their senses and rushes in creates fear.

‘My home’, which will be a peaceful haven, is no longer a safe place. Traces of infected people everywhere, people showing an unbearable thirst for blood appeared. However, instead of solving the problem, the residents are more than willing to keep their mouths shut, saying, “We just need to keep our mouths shut and unite and do things that don’t matter.” In the end, the ‘maniac disease’ that spread to the apartment. And the blockade of the apartment signals the beginning of another horror.

Human desire and selfishness further heightens the sense of crisis. Han Tae-seok's meaningful words, "It is more important to live and eat than to bite and kill a few people," makes us face reality. Jeong Yi-hyun struggles to protect the public good, saying, “If you are a person, do you have at least a minimum of responsibility?” It stimulates curiosity about how the survival stories of Yoon Sae-bom, Jeong Yi-hyeon, and Han Tae-seok, who show their determination to regain the ordinary daily life of 'no return' again, will be drawn.

Watch: Park Hyung Sik And Han Hyo Joo Run From Bloodthirsty People Infected By Mysterious Disease In New Teaser For “Happiness”

tvN has shared a thrilling new sneak peek of its upcoming drama “Happiness” (literal title)!

The newly released teaser begins with a chilling glimpse of blood and a text message saying “Mom, I’m okay” that remains ominously unread. After her world turns upside down in the blink of an eye, a worried Yoon Sae Bom (Han Hyo Joo) asks in voice-over, “Will we be able to go back [to how things were]?”

As the clip shows flashes of people transforming after being infected by the disease, Jung Yi Hyun (Park Hyung Sik) warns, “As the number of outbreaks increases, that state of mind will collapse completely.” Realizing that the diseased develop an unsatiable thirst for blood and are drawn to its smell, Yoon Sae Bom exclaims, “It’s blood.”

Some of the apartment building’s residents attempt to cover up the truth, suggesting, “All we need to do is keep our mouths shut and stick together in pretending like it’s not a big deal.” As a result, the disease eventually starts spreading throughout the building.

Han Tae Suk (played by Jo Woo Jin) mysteriously remarks, “The matter of survival is more important than a few people killing and tearing each other apart,” while an upset Jung Yi Hyun tells someone off-camera, “If you’re a human being, you should take at least a minimum level of responsibility.”

Park Hyung Sik, Han Hyo Joo, and Jo Woo Jin have great synergy on the set of the upcoming drama “Happiness”!

The newly released behind-the-scenes photos share a glimpse of the three lead actors as they passionately portray every detail from the script. Han Hyo Joo, who will make a bold acting transformation in this new thriller, diligently studies her lines before filming. She is also spotted with a warm, cheerful smile on her face as she waits to shoot her scene.

Jo Woo Jin makes efforts to show his character’s cool charisma by monitoring and reviewing his acting. He shared that he tried to be more meticulous and delicate because Han Tae Suk is a complex person who hides his innermost thoughts.

The actors also talked about what the film set is like. Han Hyo Joo shared, “The atmosphere of the drama set was so amazing. Due to the nature of the drama, I worked with many people, and they were all so good at acting that I enjoyed listening to their stories and monitoring each other’s acting.” Then she added she really liked collaborating with director Ahn Gil Ho and writer Han Sang Woon.

Park Hyung Sik commented, “The director, writer, and actors were all pleasant. There were so many dramatic situations while filming that I could feel the energy of the passionate actors. We had a lot of fun while filming it together.”

Jo Woo Jin remarked, “I was able to learn about the ‘gaze’ and ‘insight’ that can read trends and times. The director and writer wanted Han Tae Suk, a character who was ‘unreadable,’ to be portrayed in the same way, so I was able to build the character in a more three-dimensional manner through text and direction. The atmosphere was so great that I was able to concentrate better.”

There are a lot of really excellent actors in this one. This was on my radar because I'm already a fan of Han Hyo Joo, but Park Hyung Sik and Jo Woo Jin are solid, so I was glad to see them in this project.  As I browse the rest of the cast, too, I see a lot of familiar faces and know that they are all going to bring some great acting to this drama. (That's what I'm there for--a  well written script and people who can ACT, who are more than just famous pretty faces.)

When I look at the trailers, though...I start having covid twitches, lol. A pandemic! People quarantined! Hope you don't catch it! Wear that mask and protect yourself! :D The past year and a half surely lend an unusual air of believability to this otherwise fictional tale...

'Happiness' Lee Kyu-hyung made a special appearance... Han Hyo-joo is active as a colleague of the Police Special Forces

PS21102800060.jpg

‘Happiness’ is a new normal city thriller that depicts the lives of those isolated in apartments, a miniature version of class society, set in the near future. The cracks and fears that develop when a large city apartment where various groups of humans live is sealed off with a new infectious disease, and the struggle for survival and psychological warfare are carefully drawn.

Starting with Han Hyo-joo, Park Hyung-sik, Jo Woo-jin, Lee Jun-hyeok, Park Joo-hee, Baek Hyeon-jin, Park Hyeong-soo, Bae Hae-seon, etc. The tight synergy of the actors who will realistically portray the fear of having to doubt and be wary of each other in an extreme situation in which daily life collapses and existing values are shaken, are raising expectations.

In addition, Lee Kyu-hyung makes a special appearance as Yoon Sae-bom's police commando colleague 'Lee Seung-young', adding strength. Yoon Sae-bom and Lee Seung-young, who have been together for a long time since their freshman days, are an ace duo recognized by everyone.

The veteran side can be seen in the seasoned and charismatic appearance of the two of them who served as counter-terrorism training instructors reminiscent of real-life situations. On this day, Sae-Bom Yoon and Seung-Young Lee face a crisis with an incident they have never experienced before.

The production team of ‘Happiness’ said, “You can look forward to Lee Kyu-hyung’s impactful performance that will open the beginning of the infectious disease in an interesting way. It will add to the immersion in the beginning of the play.”

TVING’s upcoming drama “Happiness” (literal title) has released a preview of its first episode!

“Happiness” is an apocalyptic urban thriller that takes place in the near future within an apartment that is stratified by social standing. The high-rise apartment becomes sealed off when a new infectious disease emerges, and the drama will depict the fear, psychological battles, and desperate struggles for survival that ensue.

Han Hyo Joo stars as Yoon Sae Bom, a tactical agent in the Seoul Police Special Operations Unit, Park Hyung Sik stars as Jung Yi Hyun, a police detective in the violent crimes division, and Jo Woo Jin stars as Han Tae Suk, the man in the Armed Forces Medical Command in charge of finding the cause of the disease and stopping its spread.

The preview focuses on questions around the mysterious new disease that is rapidly seeping into daily lives. The clip kicks off with Yoon Sae Bom heading towards a room. Just as she peeks inside, she is attacked by a rookie agent who has turned into something that resembles a zombie. After taking him down, she asks Jung Yi Hyun, “How’d you manage to catch him without a gun?” In response, he calmly says, “I persuaded him with words.”

Han Tae Suk reveals that the virus that has caused people to attack them is a type of variant that affects the brain. Yoon Sae Bom seems like she can’t believe him, and Jung Yi Hyun is also skeptical as he asks, “Isn’t it a side effect of hallucinogenic drugs?”

Yoon Sae Bom ends up in the same room as one of the infected patients who attempts to attack her once again. Shocked, she manages to escape, but she angrily asks Han Tae Suk if he put her in there on purpose. He says, “One wrong move, and the world we knew yesterday might collapse.” Despite what Yoon Sae Bom has just witnessed, she remains positive as she says, “What’s the point of worrying? It might not even collapse.”

W is a drama from 2016 with Lee Jong Suk. Very different and inventive. (HHJ's dad is a comic book writer, his main character becomes self aware and changes the plot; dad freaks and tries to kill off character, only daughter somehow gets sucked into the comic and keeps saving the main character's life).

Since W she's been in the Korean films Golden Slumber as well as Inrang, and  will be in the upcoming (February 2022) film Pirates 2: Goblin Flag. She was also in the recent Japanese film The Sun Does Not Move and the American TV show Treadstone. And she's currently filming the Korean drama Moving (out with Disney Plus Korea next year). She's been busy. :) (Release of some of these things has been delayed due to covid, and now all of it is going off at once.)

But for now, we get to watch Happiness!

Watch: Park Hyung Sik Makes Han Hyo Joo Laugh With His Playfulness During Poster Shoot For “Happiness”

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Oct 31, 2021
by U. Kim

tvN’s “Happiness” revealed a behind-the-scenes video of the drama’s poster shoot!

“Happiness” is an upcoming apocalyptic urban thriller that takes place in the near future within an apartment that is stratified by social standing. The high-rise apartment becomes sealed off when a new infectious disease emerges, and the drama will depict the fear, psychological battles, and desperate struggles for survival that ensue.

Han Hyo Joo is the first actor to appear in the video, and she introduces her character Yoon Sae Bom as a tactical agent in the Seoul Police Special Operations Unit and a passionate person who can’t stand injustice. While monitoring the photos of her, a staff member tells her that even her worry lines are pretty, and she responds that she’s collected them little by little for the past six years.

Park Hyung Sik then speaks about his character Jung Yi Hyun, who is a police detective in the violent crimes division. Jo Woo Jin stars as Han Tae Suk, the man in the Armed Forces Medical Command in charge of finding the cause of a national crisis. He explains, “In a way, he is a mysterious figure who has the key to the case.”

Next, Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik start dancing and get playful while they shoot their posters as a pair. When Han Hyo Joo’s hair gets disheveled from the wind, she swings her head back and forth to fix it, and that makes Park Hyung Sik laugh.

They go indoors for a different poster concept, and Park Hyung Sik comments that they look like they’re shooting album jacket photos. Han Hyo Joo adds that it looks like an album from the ’90s, and they pose together in that style.

park-hyung-sik-han-hyo-joo-2.jpg

While monitoring the photos, they find that the lighting is too bright, causing Han Hyo Joo to almost disappear in the photo. Park Hyung Sik says, “You’re light itself,” and Han Hyo Joo confirms, “I’m light itself?” to which Park Hyung Sik nods.

One of the concepts involves the pair pretending they’re looking down at something. The director tells Han Hyo Joo to stand straight instead of stooping down, and Park Hyung Sik jokingly exclaims, “Please straighten your back!” Han Hyo Joo laughs embarrassedly and apologizes with an explanation that she was looking at the object below them too carefully.

Finally, they shoot in a set that looks like an apartment building, and Park Hyung Sik makes Han Hyo Joo burst into laughter with his exaggerated acting.

Han Hyo Joo asks viewers to anticipate and show lots of love for “Happiness,” and Park Hyung Sik shares that they are working hard to film the drama. Jo Woo Jin comments, “By the time this drama airs, I hope that the pandemic will no longer be with us. I believe this drama will be one that delivers encouragement to all of the people who are enduring the pandemic. I hope that this drama will make you rejoice and cry with us. Please stay healthy.” Park Hyung Sik adds, “Always be happy. I love you.”
