Na In Woo Talks About Memorable Reactions To “Jinxed At First,” Joining “2 Days & 1 Night,” And More

Following the conclusion of “Jinxed at First,” Na In Woo sat with SPOTV News to discuss the drama and joining “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” as a fixed cast member!

On August 4, KBS 2TV’s “Jinxed at First” aired its series finale to a slight ratings boost. Based on a webtoon called “The Jinx’s Lover,” the fantasy romance drama follows what happens when a poor, unlucky man stumbles upon a goddess of fortune that was hidden away by a chaebol family. Na In Woo stars as the “jinxed” fish seller Gong Soo Kwang.

For “Jinxed at First,” Na In Woo was able to reunite with producing director (PD) Yoon Sang Ho whom he worked with on “River Where the Moon Rises.” The actor commented, “The PD said he wanted to create a bright drama. That’s why I tried to make the character Gong Soo Kwang bright and comedic. In comedy scenes, I wanted to showcase comedic Soo Kwang, and in the remaining scenes, I wanted to take responsibility and show a serious side.”

Na In Woo explained that he got hot responses from those around him for this drama, saying, “After the first broadcast, I was contacted by a lot of people I knew. The most memorable response was my aunt’s. My aunt always watches my work. After watching this project, my aunt said, ‘as time goes by, your acting gets deeper.’ Hearing those words made me think that all my hard work was worth it.”

He continued, “I even heard, ‘you’re normal in ‘Jinxed at First’ so why are you like that?’ This is what my ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members said. This is how they give me attention. To be honest, my members gave me a lot of support. Although the ‘2 Days & 1 Night’ members made fun of me lots, they’ve supported me until the end and watched over my acting well so I’m thankful.”

When asked what kind of actor he wants to become, Na In Woo answered, “This could change one day but my thoughts have been the same since my debut up until now. I want to become an actor with sincerity. I want to become an actor who resonates with viewers and makes them laugh and cry. When I was younger, there was a time I watched a drama and was really touched. When I felt that, I decided I had to be an actor. I want to give the emotion I felt at that time to many others.”

Following Kim Seon Ho’s departure from “2 Days & 1 Night” last October, Na In Woo joined the cast as a fixed member early this year. Regarding this, Na In Woo commented, “I had to fill an empty space so I had a lot of worries. I thought a lot about, ‘What if I go and cause an inconvenience to an already well-made show? What if I become a nuisance?'”

However, he continued, “There wasn’t any pressure. I wanted to show a good and hardworking image on ‘2 Days & 1 Night,’ my first variety show as a fixed member.” Na In Woo then made everyone laugh by revealing he still gets nervous to film “2 Days & 1 Night.”

It has been awhile since I've posted much on this forum (had real life problems), so I really don't understand what has gone on here.

I wanted to watch Jinxed but thought I'd check out the thread for comments first but there are NO comments.  There is almost nothing on this thread but a re-hash of news articles. So disappointing and really a waste of time.  If no one is posting, why bother?

What is going on with Soompi?  It used to be so lively, and there were always people wanting to chat about a drama.   Now it seems like a wasteland.  :tears:   Did everyone go somewhere else?

A lot of people ended up in drama slumps, as kdramas aren't as fun as they used to be. :tears:

Some people migrated to Twitter, but I believe a lot of people just abandoned kdramas and started watching something else.

To be fair, this drama has barely any comments in other places either, and suffered from low ratings. Especially towards the end.
