@realistic2280a

I've watched Pyo Ye Jin in 3 dramas including this makes 4. She was someone you love to hate in Fight My Way, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim & VIP. 'Cause she was always after someone else's man LoL. As for Lee Je Hoon, why does he look like Will Pan LoL? I only remember him from Tomorrow With You.

The Deluxe Taxi boss Ahjusshi always play a bad guy. I mean I hated him on Train to Busan ha-ha.

Ah that hair...yes annoying at this age and time...haha...

PyJ...thank god her character  didnt  try and take Vice Chairman Park in WWWSK, otherwise, i would be awfully be mad with her too... hahha - me being a fan of the drama and all... not sure why, i didn t really watch FMY diligently as i should, skipped episodes somehow... but for WWWSK, i probably rewatched 3 or 4 times:D

Deluxe Ajusshi - i remember him in LJS's as the artist in W, and was annoyed with his character.... man, i didnt realise the drama is over 5 years old now. Im so old! :D

‘Taxi Driver’ 3 Unique Charms of Dark Hero Lee Je Hoon

by krishkim

Kim Do Gi’s revenge that shows no mercy on villains in SBS’s Taxi Driver is gaining enthusiastic support from the viewers. And at the center of that, there is Lee Je Hoon. With his deft performance, he stands by the weak and empathizes with their pain. At the same time, he provides us thrilling vicarious satisfaction as he tears apart his enemies. Now, we will look into three stages of Kim Do Gi’s charms that came to life with Lee Je Hoon’s passionate performance.

Daily Mode – “Warm Guy” Kim Do Gi

One of the biggest reasons we cheer on Kim Do Gi is his humane side. He shows no mercy to villains, but he is the man who can deeply connect with the pains that the weak are enduring. Usually, he is just another normal neighbor. He turns off the meter for exhausted passengers and carefully listens to the victims’ stories as they request revenge on the brink of death. In addition, Kim’s dramatic life, which practically driven him to become a dark hero, adds persuasions to his character. From his anger about the serial killer that murdered his mother and the despair he feels about being incompetent to his pledge to take on the revenge on behalf of victims like him, Lee Je Hoon delivers the character’s emotions with his detailed acting.

Undercover Mode – Master of disguise who perturbs the villains

Kim Do Gi’s disguise to perturb his enemies shines brighter with Lee He Hoon’s ever-changing performance. He brought the same terror to those who exploited and brutally assaulted the disabled. He then disguised as a naive part-time teacher to take a parting shot at school violence perpetrators. In another case, he destroyed the entire data after he got hired at a company that manufactures and distributes illegally filmed videos as a crazy IT expert. In the latest episode, he carried out an “homme fatale” operation to take out the voice phishing crime organization, allowing a thrilling catharsis for us. Kim Do Gi skillfully changes his tone, expressions and walks according to the situation. And that is one of the most exciting things to watch in Taxi Driver.

Hunter Mode – Dark hero who has awakened his beast-like instinct

The moment he goes into his hunter mode, Lee Je Hoon proves his real worth. His “an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth” revenge method is meticulous and thrilling. Kim Do Gi, who puts on different masks depending on the villains he’s dealing with, woke up the vicious beast-like instinct as he went up against Park Yang Jin, the CEO of U data. Park started to doubt Kim and lured him into a trap, but Kim’s rage was inexorable. He brutally punished Park, who was begging for his life, drawing out cheers from the viewers. Especially, Lee Je Hoon’s presence that overwhelms villains only with his eyes doubles the pleasure.

Urgh... why did mr wang has to die! Sigh..

Didnt realise the show is now ep11.. today will be ep12.. and another 2 weeks will be end of the show..

Somehow, i feel the death of Mr Ko is as bad as the death of the Jamal Khashoggi, which shocked the world... sigh....

Man I actualy liked Mr Wang....why does Hana never provide protection to the people she sends to dig up information to her, she knows those are dangerous people she shouldn't wait until they are in actual danger asking for help and why send Mr Wang there alone that was so stupid, he died of incompetence.

At least her character is finally having some impact in making the taxi team second guess their ways and motives, though I disagree when she said they are no different from those other criminals they despise.

Didn't expect that Gu had an identical twin.

Right. So Ha Na has all the time to stake out Do Gi but not Mr. Shim LoL?! Couldn't she at least thought to have him wire tapped?! So incompetent indeed.

And then the vitriol she gave Detective Park when she herself is no better. The irony.

Nice change that the pastor chose not to avenge. A pity what happened to his son.. such a good looking chap too.

Poor Mr. Wang.. he didn't deserve this.. Hopefully his death won't be in vain & that it'd compel Ha Na to smarten up & not be so caught up in following by the book.

Yep... the method of murder is as suspected. But yes, as commented above, its crazy that the guy went to talk with the murderer without even a bug/ear piece to record conversations... sigh

Good thing i guess from ep12, is the cooperation between Dogi and Hana... finally. Sad that it took Mr.Wang's murder for Hana to understand and sanction the Rainbow taxi methods.

Expecting 3rd party contractor to do the dirty job of jailing those people doesnt seemed right.. 4 more episodes to go, will see how this is going to end.

Upsetting that it took 12 ep. for Ha Na to get here. Baby steps huh? It's funny to me how she now asks for help from the Deluxe Taxi Team whose methods she so despises.

The same I guess could be said for all of us that it takes for us to lose something dear to us, to propel us to take action. Sad but true.

I like that Ha Na apologised for what she said to Do Gi earlier. She was too judgmental. Although I always had a bad feeling on Madam Baek.

My guess is that Madam Baek will arrange evidence to blame taxi rainbow for this human organs trafficking.

I don't dislike Kang Hana. I was lowkey shipping her and Mr Wang, Mr Wang is such a teddy bear kind of person who provide support and comfort to Hana, a real supportive colleague. I feel like his dead was being used for the shock factor and partly to push Kang Hana to the taxi side.

There has been less romance crumbs to Go Eun and Do Ki... Since Go Eun's story resolve, she also receives less screen time. Base on the preview for next week, it seems Go Eun will be hold hostage and Do Ki will come for her rescue. So im looking forward to more crumbs hahaha.

The final boss for taxi crew would be the organisation of Ms Baek.

I think this was the best episode for Hana so far, I've never really enjoyed her character much before that. It was nice seeing them work together and I liked how she apologized to Dogi about what she said. I loved when she smashed the laptop in that jerks face.

Haha I actually thought we had some nice crumbs this episode seeing them a lot next to each other and with the scene where Goeun jumped out of the Van because she was worried for him.

I'm curious as to how the rest of the episodes will play out, we have 4 of them left I wonder if all of them are going to deal with the godmother as the final boss since the confontration already started. Hana and our team will probably work together to take her down and in the end all those criminal may end up in real jail. Question is what's gonna happen to the rainbow team.

Seeing how Goeun is able to access and gain so much information with her hacking skills I was thinking how useful she would be if she was actually working for the law enforcement. Remember when she talked about how she took the police officer exam instead of her sister, imagine if they end up recruiting her lol probably unlikely to happen tho.

I haven't seen ep 12 yet, but I am assuming that Hana joins up with the Rainbow Team. I'm excited to see that happen, but I think the storytelling has been one sided. Like Hana bad, Rainbow Team good. The whole "let 100 criminals go free then falsely convict  1" is a frequent saying in lawyer tv shows. They should have applied that saying to the Rainbow Team. They should have done a case where the Rainbow Team gets it wrong and gets revenge on an innocent person. Or finds out that someone they got revenge on in the past was innocent.

What was the long term plan on the prisoners that Ms Baek were holding for the Team. Like the boss kept talking about reform, but according to what metric. Also has it ever worked?

I love the revenge stuff, but the whole sticking them in cages for an undetermined amount of time just seem icky to me. Like how did the boss think getting into bed with Ms Baek would work out.

As I understood Godmother kidnapped all the team except Mr.Jung and waiting with criminal squad for Doki to came. As she said to him earlier,if you touch my boys or my things,I am going to mess up with your team. Dunno how it will be resolved but I guess Ha Na will come to help him save his teammates.

Episode 11 and 12 were heartbreaking,I cried my heart out for Mr.Wang, adored him a lot! And Ha Na's tears really got me,so sad...He was her best support, now she is like a tree without roots...

When things like this happen I'm always curious about what the original writer wanted vs what they give us.

I know we will never find out but I still want to know. The same thing happened with Uncanny Counter, and while I liked the ending I can't help but wonder about the alternative we could've gotten.

Surprised to read the change in writer halfway though the drama...

Have read the bashing on the character of Ha Na, however it is just her job being a competent investigator.... and she is smart to figure out the other side of kim dogi, right..

Since the beginning of the drama's sypnosis, it has been highlighted that HaNa would join or at least believed in the Rainbow's taxi's mission of  punishing the bad guys when the law can't. I was surprised it took more than 11th episodes for her to do that. And mr wang's death to push her to the other side of the law... perhaps that was the only way for our stubborn prosecutor

Yes, even though she was the female lead, it doesnt feel as if she is... perhaps there is just so many things that went on the drama, hence Go Eun became the female focus and viewers perception that she overshadowed Esom.

Lets hope the last 4 episodes would be good ... Taxi driver, Fighting!:D

I am not) Every plot twist that happened in last 2 episodes I expected from the start, but I thought it would happen at least at 8 or 9 episode. For me since 8 episode writer seemed to make too many spots here and there?loosing some things... So i guess the director made the right decision. Just in case people wondering, they announced it now,but made a change quite a while ago. Cause they are filming episode 16 right now.

But I'm not gonna lie, episode 12 became my favourite, acting, directing and writing, everything was on point for me.

And for Go Eun overshadowing,Ha Na barely had her screentime in the first half of drama.

I tot the Udata topic was interesting but it took over 3 episodes. Probably could do 2 and a half, haha.. didnt really enjoy the voice phishing story, maybe because of the lady* boss...

Lets hope for better stories on the last 4 episodes and perhaps a season 2?

Either we are enjoying the drama to well that we feel it was too short and needed more and develop Hana and Dogi relationship.... someone gotta help Dogi with his trauma? No?

At first I thought Taxi driver is a 20 episode drama, lol. Yes,it's too short and I also was not fond of voice phishing story at all. Je Hoon was fabulous in that disguise but overall for me it was boring. Let's see what the production team will give us,but I also want to see Ha Na and Do Gi relationship development, like a good partners and maybe friends? Because in my book it could work for the whole justice theme, the team is doing digging and Ha Na is putting criminals in the jail, kind of like that.

Im sure they will be friends after this... not sure what will be the outcome of the drama, can the rainbow team operate without any consequences? As the recent episodes show, they cant just put the criminals in private jails forever and who pays for them to be in that jail for so long?

At best, they can gather all evidence, give it to hana to prosecute.. but scuh arrangement couldnt be sustainable as well...

We will see in the next episodes... :D
