I read somewhere that in the novella the two of them overcame all obstacles and they went to live together  as common people.

I looked past the fact that the red birdie that was captured by Yuan when ZY tried to send one out actually flew out to SY and woke him up - was there a decoy?
quite miraculously, he got his full powers back after being struck again by lightning that happened to be waiting around the corner…
 

They must be trying for a high angst, dramatic end with an ultimate sacrifice seeing how they made two of the most powerful lose to one demon.

these last episodes are unnecessarily dramatic...  

I dont understand why the director made the MLs weak and careless at the end of the drama.

General Qing and Xueli, on the other hand, became smarter and more powerful.

 

However, I still love SY and ZY's scenes on their own regardless of the plot itself.

1:56..She repeated twice ''The one I love..'' so he didnt hear when she said '' ..is you, Master''..

I'm finally watching this drama more than half way through. It feels  like a lack of chemistry between the main leads, like its forced. The male lead is good but the female lead seems wrong for this role to the point of annoying. Like she's over acting or not believable,  her child actress was better. But I'm still going to watch it to the end because the other characters are great.
