Through this low-budget movie, which was his graduation project at Chung-Ang University and a story about a military camp, YOON is credited for showing skillful direction over a sensitive and yet over-told subject by building three-dimensional characters and a rather complete narrative. The film also heralded the earnest beginning of the acting career of [HA Jung-woo], the representative character actor of his generation. From his short film, <Identification of a Man>, through his second feature, <Beastie Boys> (2008), which cast [HA Jung-woo] again, YOON’s films consistently show 20-something men and their lives in reflection of problems of the society at large. YOON had his first mainstream hit with his next work, the crime film <Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time>. A period gangster film with CHOI Min-sik and HA Jung-woo, the film wound up with over 4.7 million admissions in 2012. Teaming up again with his friend HA, not to mention star GANG Dong-won, fresh from military service, YOON took on the summer blockbuster <Kundo: Age of the Rampant>. A Joseon Era period action film that played like a western-infused Robin Hood tale, the film took in just shy of 4.8 million admissions in 2014.

[ kofic ] PARK Hae-soo, born in 1981, studied acting at Dankook University before starting his acting career on stage in 2007, in the play <Mr. Lobby>. Having made his name through a number of stage performances and won Best New Actor at the Korean Theatre Grand Awards, he moved to television in 2012, when he joined the extensive cast of the Goryeo Era-set drama series <God of War> (2012). Despite his appearances as a supporting character in the courtroom drama <The Unfair> (2013) and the hit thriller <Master> (2016), PARK was first brought to the attention of viewers when he played a Joseon-era official and a modern-day police office in the fantasy drama series <Six Flying Dragons> (2015-2016). [ kofic ] JO Woo-jin, born in 1979, decided after high school to go to Seoul and study drama at the Seoul Institute of the Arts despite the opposition of his parents. Having debuted on stage in 1999 performing <Last Embrace>, he spent years taking various roles in theater before making his first big screen appearance in the medium-length student film <Peels> (2009), with his first commercial film being the family drama <Mama> (2011). He has been appearing in an array of supporting roles both in films and on television but remained mostly unnoticed until 2015 when he played against LEE Byung-hun in the noir crime thriller <Inside Men> (2015). His screen presence made a strong impression on the audience, and sure enough, he signed soon after his first contract with a talent agency and started appearing more frequently on the big screen, mostly in crime thrillers. He tormented LEE Byung-hun again in 2017 in the critically acclaimed historical drama <The Fortress> (2017), this time as part of the main cast, and gained wider recognition playing in TV series such as <Squad 38> (2016) and <Guardian: The Lonely and Great God> (2017). He was also noted for his solid performance in the nuclear crisis thriller film <Steel Rain> (2017).

[ kofic ] While still in high school YOO Yeon-seok had the chance to portray YU Ji-tae’s younger character in the seminal PARK Chan-wook film <Oldboy> (2003). Following his studies at Sejon University he returned to acting, first in TV dramas but he quickly got his chance on the big screen again and it wasn’t long before he made a name for himself in both independent and commercial fare. 2011 saw him take on the role of a young man looking for his adopted son in the critical darling <Re-encounter>. More arthouse fare followed with <Moscow> that same year and <Eighteen, Nineteen> and <Two Weddings and a Funeral> in the next. 2012 was also the year that he became more well-known as he took on prominent roles in a number of more commercial features such as <Horror Stories> and the enormously successful melodramas <Architecture 101> and <A Werewolf Boy>. YOO was next be seen opposite KIM In-gwon in the comedy Born to Sing. The same year he appeared in JANG Joon-hwan’s thriller <Hwayi: A Monster Boy> at the end of 2014 he starred as the king in LEE Won-suk’s <The Royal Tailor>, as well as a researcher who blows the lid off a case of stem cell fraud in YIM Soon-rye’s <The Whistleblower>. Next for YOO were the drama thriller <Perfect Proposal>, the romance <Mood of the Day> and a cameo in the high concept romcom <The Beauty Inside>.

KRW40 Billion Blockbuster Would Reunite Stars with Director YOON Jong-bin

 

 

The big-budget Netflix crime drama Suriname (literal title), the first series from director YOON Jong-bin, has offered leading roles to superstar HA Jung-woo and HWANG Jung-min. Representatives for the actors, who have both worked with Director YOON in the past, have confirmed that they are looking over the offers positively.

 

The series, which is based on real events, will focus on a Korean man who rose to become a drug lord in Suriname, a former Portuguese colony on the northern coast of South America. The project is said to carry a budget of KRW40 billion (USD33.76 million), which will likely give it the highest per-episode budget of any Korean series, outstripping shows like Mr. Sunshine and Arthdal Chronicles which also carried similar budgets but with more episodes than usual for a Netflix series.

 

HA and director YOON have worked extensively together ever since the indie The Unforgiven (2005), which launched both of their careers. They went on to collaborate again on Beastie Boys (2008), Nameless Gangster : Rules of the Time (2012) and KUNDO : Age of the Rampant (2014). HWANG has also worked with YOON, on the acclaimed period spy drama The Spy Gone North (2018), which screened in the midnight section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. 

 

Location scouting is currently underway in South America and the show is expected to make its streaming debut at some point in 2021.

Stars Reunite with Director for Crime Series

 

Director Yoon Jongbin is partnering with Netlfix for the forthcoming original series Suriname. The project will see the director reunite with stars Ha Jungwoo and Hwang Jungmin, and feature Yoo Yeonseok, Jo Woojin and Park Haesoo.
 
Suriname, which is based on real events, will tell the story of a civilian businessman who is forced to join a secret operation being conducted by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to take down a Korean drug lord who has built a massive criminal empire in Suriname, in South America.
 
Ha Jungwoo, who has previously worked with Director Yoon four times, including on The Unforgiven (2005), the film that launched both of their careers, will play Kang Ingu, the businessman who recently set up shop in Suriname and unwittingly becomes involved in the drug trade. Yoon and Ha have also worked on Beastie Boys (2008), Nameless Gangster : Rules of the Time (2012) and KUNDO : Age of the Rampant (2014).
 
Hwang Jungmin, star of Yoon’s The Spy Gone North (2018), as well as hits such as Ode to My Father (2014) and Veteran (2015), will play Jeon Yohwan, the kingpin running his drug empire out of Suriname.
 
Park Haesoo, who already appeared in the Netflix film Time to Hunt (2020) and is headlining two forthcoming Netlfix series, Round Six and the Korean remake of Money Heist, will play Choi Changho, head of the American branch of the NIS.
 
Recently seen in Steel Rain2: Summit (2020) and NEW YEAR BLUES, Yoo Yeonseok will play Yohwan’s advisor David Park. Also playing a member of Yohwan’s gang, Byeon Kitae, is Jo Woojin, recently seen in Collectors (2020) and SEOBOK.

Director Yoon Jong Bin’s new drama Suriname has confirmed the golden lineup. The first filming will start next month.

 

According to multiple officials in the industry, Suriname additionally confirmed the casting of Jo Woo Jin, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Hae Soo, and Choo Ja Hyun. Earlier, Ha Jung Woo and Hwang Jung Min have officially joined the project. The cast conducted their first table read on Monday.

 

An insider shared, “Director Yoon Jong Bin and the Suriname actors gathered to conduct the first table read yesterday. Top stars from the industry got together, and the table read was as heated as any other filming sites.”

 

Suriname is produced by CJ ENM and will be released through Netflix. The drama is based on the true story of a Korean who became a drug lord in Suriname, South America. It will be released as a 6-part series and has a production budget of 35 billion KRW (about 30,977,040 USD).

 

Ha Jung Woo, dubbed “Yoon Jong Bin’s persona,” will be working with Yoon for the fifth time. The two have already teamed up for The Unforgiven, The Moonlight Of Seoul, Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time, and KUNDO: Age of the Rampant. Hwang Jung Min also worked with Yoon in The Spy Gone North.

For Suriname, Hwang Jung Min turns into the drug lord. Ha Jung Woo will play the character who helps the national intelligence agency to arrest the drug lord.

 

Jo Woo Jin, Yoo Yeon Seok, Park Hae Soo, and Choo Ja Hyun will either become drug lord’s gang members or agents of the national intelligence service.

 

Suriname was originally scheduled to be filmed in the Dominican Republic. However, with the outbreak of the COVID virus, the entire production was moved to Korea.

 

The production team plans to mainly shoot in Jeju Island and other parts of the country. Then about 20% of the filming will take place in Southeast Asian countries. Suriname will continue filming until the end of this year.

As reported by OSEN on January 16, the mega-film project ''Suriname'' featuring the collaboration of director Yoon Jong Bin and actor Ha Jung Woo will be conducted as a 10-episode drama. With the estimated budget of 40 billion won, the work is expected to have the highest production cost in the history of Korean dramas, surpassing both ''Mr. Sunshine'' and the ''Arthdal Chronicles''.

 

Initially, director Yoon Jong Bin pondered about whether he should make "Suriname" a movie or a TV series. Finally, he decided to write the script following the format of a drama of 10 episodes.

 

A representative answered OSEN, "'Suriname' has started shooting this year, including the filming in the Dominican Republic with the broadcast goal of 2021. Reportedly, a part of the casting is completed."

Suriname (working title), director Yoon Jong Bin’s new work starring Ha Jung Woo and Hwang Jung Min, has suspended its production in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak.  According to the sources from the Korean movie scene on April 2, all of the production staff for Suriname were recently disbanded. The entire production plan related to the work has also been delayed for an indefinite period. Based on the true story of a Korean who became a drug lord in Suriname, the small country in South America, Suriname was originally scheduled to be made as a 10-episode blockbuster drama with a huge budget of 40 billion KRW (approximately 32.44 million USD).

 

The production team of Suriname, planning to film the drama on location in the Dominican Republic at the end of this year, was going to leave for the country to check on the local conditions. Unfortunately, all of those schedules has been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world. Director Yoon Jong Bin’s new project Suriname, which was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has begun its preparations with a goal to start filming next year.  According to a media outlet, Suriname is currently working on completing its cast lineup and pre-production stage in order to start shooting in March and April next year. Suriname is a new project by The Spy Gone North director Yoon Jong Bin. It will be based on the true story of a Korean man who became a drug lord in Suriname, a country in South America.

 

Ha Jung Woo worked with director Yoon in various works, including The Unforgiven, The Moonlight Of Seoul, Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time and KUNDO: Age of the Rampant. Hwang Jung Min worked with Yoo for the film The Spy Gone North.

 

Suriname is a project that CJ ENM participated in planning and is known to have a budget of 40 billion KRW (about 36.2 million USD). It was initially planned as a 10-part series but was finalized as a six-part series and will be released on Netflix.

 

Suriname was originally planned to be filmed in the Dominican Republic at the end of this year, but all scheduled were halted due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The series eventually disbanded its staff in April and postponed production indefinitely. However, Suriname recently decided to build a set in Korea and film 80% of the series and shoot the rest in Southeast Asia instead of Latin America.

Netflix’s upcoming original series “Suriname” has announced its main cast!

On May 28, Netflix confirmed that director Yoon Jong Bin’s new series, “Suriname,” would be airing via the streaming platform.

“Suriname” is a drama about a civilian businessman who winds up helping the National Intelligence Service’s secret operation to take down a Korean drug king who is operating in the South American country of Suriname. It is loosely based on a real story.

Director Yoon Jong Bin’s previous projects include the films “The Spy Gone North,” “Kundo: Age of the Rampant,” and “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time.”

Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Park Hae Soo, Jo Woo Jin, and Yoo Yeon Seok have been confirmed for the cast of “Suriname.” Ha Jung Woo will star as Kang In Goo, the main character, who starts up a business in Suriname hoping to get rich but ends up getting caught in a world of illegal drugs. Hwang Jung Min will co-star as Jeon Yo Hwan, the drug king who is controlling the underground world of Suriname.

Park Hae Soo will play Choi Chang Ho, the team leader of the Americas branch of the National Intelligence Service, who enlists Kang In Goo in his plan to take down Jeon Yo Hwan. Jo Woo Jin will play Byun Gi Tae, an ethnic Korean born and raised in China, who is Jeon Yo Hwan’s right-hand man and takes care of all his dirty business. Yoo Yeon Seok will play David Park, a lawyer who advises Jeon Yo Hwan and acts as the brains of the crime syndicate.

Park Hae-soo, Yoo Yeon-seok and Jo Woo-jin will join Ha Jung-woo and Hwang Jung-min in the star-studded cast of "Suriname," a new Netflix Korea original series.

Filmmaker Yoon Jong-bin, whose credits include "Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time" (2012), "Kundo: Age of the Rampant" (2014) and "The Spy Gone North" (2018), is set to helm his first TV series. 

Based on a true story, "Suriname" revolves around a man named Jeon Yo-han (Hwang) who rose to become a drug lord in Suriname, a former Portuguese colony on the northern coast of South America. 

Ha, who is set to star in a TV drama for the first time in 14 years since 2007's "H.I.T.," will star as a businessman named Kang In-goo who gets embroiled in drug-related crimes but chooses to cooperate with the National Intelligence Service. 

Park, who left a strong impression on viewers by playing the merciless villain in the 2020 dystopian action thriller "Time to Hunt," will play the secret agent who chases after Jeon while Jo will appear as a close aide of the drug kingpin. Ahead of "Suriname," Jo is starring in the thriller "Hard Hit" that will be released in theaters in June. 

Yoo, who will appear in season 2 of the series "Hospital Playlist" next, will be playing a lawyer for the drug lord. 

The 40 billion won ($35.8 million) budget project was supposed to be filmed in the Dominican Republic, but the pandemic has thwarted the production team's original plan and they shot majority of the series in Korea. Only about 20 percent of the film will be shot in Southeast Asia instead of Latin America.

Netflix hasn't announced an official premiere date for "Suriname."

K-drama, film productions halted by COVID-19 resurgence

TV and film productions are being halted as the country enters what appears to be a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections. Companies including KBS and Netflix confirmed disruptions to their shooting schedules. 

On Tuesday, a press conference for tvN's reality show "Udo Inn" was canceled abruptly because actress Kim Hee-sun had to undergo COVID-19 testing after Cha Ji-yeon, who has been starring in the musical "Red Book" and preparing for the upcoming musical "Gwanghwamun Sonata" and Netflix's series "The Bride of Black," tested positive for the virus on Sunday.   Kim as well as the rest of the cast and crew for "The Bride of Black" have been tested and were all confirmed negative.   Cha's infection has also dented the live theater sector. The musical "Red Book" has been suspended until July 17, while a press conference for "Gwanghwamun Sonata," which was originally scheduled for Monday, was called off.

Since the beginning of July, the number of new confirmed cases in Korea has shot up, prompting the government to review elevating the social distancing rule to the highest level. Some 1,275 cases were reported on Thursday, the highest tally Korea has seen throughout this pandemic which began early last year.

Earlier on July 2, the production team for the crime drama film "Bogota: City of the Lost," starring Song Joong-ki, announced it halted filming after one of the actors had been in contact with a person known to have been infected.  "Shooting of the film will not resume until the whole cast and crew end their self-quarantine. We will adjust production schedules after paying close attention to the situation and making full preparations for safety," the film's distributor Megabox Plus M said. 

KBS, a major public broadcaster, has suspended filming the daily TV series "Be My Dream Family" after an actor tested positive on Monday. The cast and crew all tested negative, but the show will not be airing episodes from July 19 to 23 as a result of the precautionary measure.  "Complying with the health guidelines of the government and for the safety of our cast and crew, we have decided to pause production schedules for now," the production team said. 

Korean media reported that Netflix has halted some productions including "Suriname" a crime drama film starring Hwang Jung-min and Ha Jung-woo, and "Money Heist," a Korean remake of a Spanish crime series revolving around a group of criminals carrying out a major heist planned by a mastermind.

All the world’s a stage: Success of ‘Squid Game’ opens doors for Korean actors

The influence of global OTT platforms was once again proven with Netflix original series “Squid Game” supporting actor Oh Young-soo‘s win at the 79th Golden Globes on Monday.  International successes like Oh’s are increasingly likely in the near future as more Korean actors have started working on projects targeting global audiences.  Many big-name stars are choosing to appear in Netflix’s original series, which are made available in 190 countries.

Kim Hye-soo and “Parasite” star Lee Jung-eun are starring in the upcoming Netflix show “Juvenile Justice,” about a judge who hates juvenile criminals suddenly being appointed to the juvenile department of a district court.

“Money Heist,” an upcoming South Korean television series based on the Spanish heist crime drama series of the same title, will feature stars like Kim Yun-jin, Yoo Ji-tae and Jeon Jong-seo.

Veteran actor Hwang Jung-min, who led multiple megahit films like “Ode to My Father” and ”Veteran,” will also appear in the Netflix original series “Suriname,” along with another prolific actor, Ha Jung-woo, who has appeared in three megahit films that have sold more than 10 million tickets domestically -- “Assassination” and two flicks in the “Along With the God” series.

Netflix is not the only OTT that is aiming to produce the next “Squid Game” with big-name Korean stars.  Disney+, who entered the Korean market last year, is working with “Old Boy” star Choi Min-sik who will appear in its original series, “King Of Savvy.”   Oscar-winning Youn Yuh-jung and Hallyu star Lee Min-ho will appear in Apple TV+’s “Pachinko,” a Korean, Japanese and English-language drama based on the novel by Korean American author Lee Min-jin. 

There is also a notable trend of young Korean actors being cast in Hollywood films.  Park Seo-joon, 32, will star in the sequel to “Captain Marvel,” officially titled “The Marvels.”   Park is widely known to international fans of Korean dramas, having starred in several hit romantic comedies such as “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim” and “Itaewon Class.” He also made a cameo appearance as a friend of the character Ki-woo (played by Choi Woo-sik) in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” directed by Bong Joon-ho.  Jeon, 27, of “Money Heist,” also filmed her first English-language film “Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon,“ which was screened here during the Busan International Film Festival last year.

Film production companies adapt to pandemic by flocking to TV series

A growing number of film production companies are expanding their specialties from just making films to creating drama series as a way to adapt to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years.

The aggregated revenues of the local film markets, which include domestic sales of movie tickets as well as online releases and exports, reached 1.02 trillion won ($822 million) last year, down 60 percent from the 2.5 trillion won during the pre-pandemic year of 2019, according to data from the Korean Film Council. 

Aside from very big releases like "Spider-Man: No Way Home," most films underperformed at the box office. As the film industry reeled from the impact of the pandemic, filmmakers crossed over to the small screen as a way of adjusting to changes in the market and in the ways audiences consume content.

Local film production company Siren Pictures paved the way for success by producing Netflix's "Squid Game." "Suriname," one of the most anticipated series of this year, is co-produced by Moonlight Film and Perfect Storm Film and directed by Yoon Jong-bin, best known for films "Nameless Gangster" and "Kundo."

Next Entertainment World's (NEW) film division, Movie & New, recently announced its plan to diversify its business portfolio by producing and investing in intellectual property (IP)-based content for the web.

It will introduce BL (Boys' Love) web dramas, including "Blooming" (working title), a campus romance based on the popular webtoon, "Something is Wrong with Popularity." With another leading film production company, Myung Film, it will co-produce "Follow the Wind" (working title), another BL romance series about a vocalist and the band's manager. Set to be released in the first half of this year, filmmaker So Joon-moon of the film "Everglow" (2021) is onboard to direct it.

The news comes as surprising because NEW had already established the drama-focused division, Studio & New, in 2016 to focus on dramas such as "Descendants of the Sun." 

Last September, "Parasite" production company Barunson E&A announced it will invest big in TV content by signing with Baek Mi-kyung, a scriptwriter who recently created a lot of buzz this year with tvN's "Mine."

The pandemic and the rapid growth of streaming platforms have changed the way producers look at content. Film production company Doodoong Picture will produce director Lee Joon-ik's first drama series, "Beyond the Memory."

"The line between film and TV keeps blurring. Thanks to streaming platforms that offer a wide array of content, various stylistic experiments have become possible in dramas," television show critic Kong Hee-jung said.

A new Netflix original series, "Narco-Saints," created by top director Yoon Jong-bin, will be released on Sept. 9, the streaming service platform said, Monday. 

The much-anticipated series is about a man who has no choice but to take on a secret mission for the National Intelligence Service (NIS) after being framed by a Korean drug lord operating in Suriname.

It has drawn attention since the production was announced last year, as it is helmed by Yoon, who has been recognized for excellence in storytelling and direction in previous films, including "Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time" (2011) and "The Spy Gone North" (2018).

Its star-studded cast also raises expectations, especially because some of the actors have already proven to be good partners with director Yoon.

Ha Jung-woo plays the role of Kang In-su, an entrepreneur who wished to make money in Suriname but gets involved in drug crime. Ha partnered with Yoon since the latter's directoral debut, "The Unforgiven" (2005), through which both Ha and Yoon received recognition in the nation's cinema scene. Ha also starred in Yoon's other works: "The Moonlight of Seoul" (2008), "Nameless Gangster: Rules of Time" and "KUNDO: Age of the Rampant" (2014).

Another A-lister in the new series is Hwang Jung-min, who also appeared in "A Violent Prosecutor," (2015) for which Yoon was a producer and "The Spy Gone North" for which Yoon was the director. In the new series, he plays the role of Jeon Yo-hwan, the top boss of a Suriname's drug cartel.

Park Hae-soo, who is nicknamed a "worker at Netflix" because his recent filmography centers on Netflix series such as "Squid Game" (2021) and "Money Heist: Korea ― Joint Economic Area" (2022), takes the role of Choi Chang-ho, an NIS agent who leads the mission to apprehend Jeon.

Yoo Yeon-seok plays David Park, a lawyer who helps protect Jeon's organization, while Jo Woo-jin is transformed into Byun Ki-tae, who is Jeon's right-hand man.

Taiwanese actor Chang Chen, who has strong international foothold with his appearance in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000), "The Grandmaster" (2013) and "Dune" (2021), will guest-star as the leader of a Chinese crime ring in Suriname.

Netflix will launch its new series "The Accidental Narco" starring actors Ha Jung-woo, Hwang Jung-min, Park Hae-soo and Yoo Yeon-seok on Sept. 9, according to the streaming platform on Monday. 

Directed by Yoon Jong-bin, "The Accidental Narco" tells the story of a businessman who cooperates with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to arrest a Korean drug lord active in Suriname. 

This is the first Netflix series directed by Yoon, who is known for films “Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time” (2012) and “The Spy Gone North” (2018). 

Ha plays Kang In-gu, a civilian Korean businessman who risks his life to participate in the NIS’s operation. Hwang plays the conman and drug lord Jeon Yo-hwan. 

The series also stars Park as an agent striving to arrest Jeon, actor Jo Woo-jin as Jeon’s right-hand man and Yoo as Jeon’s attorney who offers him protection. 

Taiwanese actor Chang Chen will also make a special appearance as the head of a Chinese crime ring.

Anticipations are high on how the ordinary entrepreneur and the secret agent will closely partner with each other to arrest the Korean drug lord.

Netflix's upcoming Korean series "Narco-Saints" is set for release next month in time for Chuseok, Korea's biggest holiday of the year.

The crime thriller revolves around a man who joins a secret mission to capture a Korean drug lord operating in the South American country of Suriname.

The series is already creating buzz for its star-studded cast, which includes veteran actors Ha Jung-woo and Hwang Jung-min, along with Park Hae-soo, who shot to global fame after starring in Netflix's mega hit Korean series "Squid Game," and Taiwanese actor Chang Chen, who is famous for his appearances in films like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "The Grandmaster."

"Narco-Saints" will be available for streaming on Sept. 9, the first day of the long Chuseok weekend.

Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Park Hae Soo, Jo Woo Jin, and Yoo Yeon Seok revealed why they chose to star in Netflix’s Narco-Saints.

Narco-Saints follows a civilian businessman who becomes involved in the National Intelligence Service’s covert operation to bring down a Korean drug lord operating in the South American country of Suriname.

The upcoming series came to be on Netflix with Ha Jung Woo’s proposal to director Yoon Jong Bin as he got fascinated by the gripping story of a civilian entrepreneur starting his business in Suriname. The director and The Spy Gone North writer Kwon Seong Hwi reportedly worked hand in hand together to come up with its script. Ha Jung Woo shared his first impression of the script, saying, “The story hooked me from the beginning as the characters were so alive and unique.”

Playing drug lord Jeon Yo Han in the upcoming series, Hwang Jung Min gushed, “Every episode left me wondering what would happen next. The script is just incredibly well-written.” Park Hae Soo, who stars as NIS agent Choi Chang Ho, added, “I love how characters play mind tricks on each other in this series. I think viewers will have fun guessing what will happen next.”

 

Jo Woo Jin, who takes on the role of the second-in-command of the drug ring, commented, “I thought I’ve worked with some of the cast members from this series, but I realized that I haven’t worked with any of them. We were dying to meet each other in person, and the brilliant cast was one reason I hopped on this project.”

Yoo Yeon Seok, who plays the legal advisor of Yo Han, remarked, “This is my first time working with director Yoon. I felt extremely thrilled to work with all of the actors starring in the series.”
Narco-Saints will drop on September 9th.
