With the new year less than a month away, there are plenty of new Korean dramas scheduled to be released in January of 2023. To make sure everyone’s watchlist has a few more options, MyAnimeList gathered nine of the most anticipated Korean dramas to start the year.

Disney+ announces a new K-drama with a huge cast for the first quarter of 2023

 

Disney+ announced that it will release a 20-episode K-drama in the first quarter of 2023.

 

The drama 'Moving' is based on a popular webtoon series of the same name and follows the story of children who live in the present times while hiding their superpowers and their parents who have also lived while hiding their painful secrets.

It has been confirmed that Jo In Seong, Ryu Seung Yong, Han Hyo Joo, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryoo Seung Bum, Kim Sung Kyun, Kim Hee Won, Moon Sung Keun, Lee Jung Ha, Go Yoon Jung, Kim Do Hoon, Kim Shin Rok, and Park Hee Soon will appear in the drama.

 

Ryu Seung Yong will play the role of Jang Joo Won, who does not feel pain and has the ability to regenerate. Go Yoon Jung will play the role of Jang Hee Soo, the daughter of Jang Joo Won, and has the same power.

Jo In Sung plays the role of Kim Doo Sik, a NIS agent with the ability to fly, and Han Hyo Joo will play the role of his wife, Lee Mi Hyun, who has superhuman senses.

 

 

 

Cha Tae Hyun will play the role of Jeon Gye Do, who has the ability to generate electricity, and Ryoo Seung Bum will play the role of Frank, a person who chases after people with supernatural powers.

 

Kim Sung Kyun will play the role of Lee Je Man, who has super speed and super strength, and Kim Hee Won will play the role of Choi Il Hwan, a school teacher with supernatural powers who hides his secret while working as a teacher.

 

Kim Shin Rok and Park Hee Soon take on the roles of Yeo Woon Kyu and Kim Deok Yoon, agents of the forces that chase down these humans with superpowers and do whatever it takes to complete their mission.

Disney+’s upcoming superhero drama “Moving” has announced its premiere date!

 

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name by Kang Full, “Moving” is a new action drama about a group of people with superhuman powers who hide their abilities from the world in order to protect their families from harm and exploitation.

 

The drama, which is officially set to premiere on August 9, boasts s star-studded cast that includes Jo In Sung, Han Hyo Joo, Ryu Seung Ryong, Cha Tae Hyun, Go Yoon Jung, Lee Jung Ha, Kim Sung Kyun, Ryu Seung Bum, Kim Hee Won, Moon Sung Geun, Kim Do Hoon, and more.

 

The newly released poster captures Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha) fast asleep in an empty classroom as he floats peacefully above the ground, offering a sneak peek of the unwitting student’s superpower.

 

Meanwhile, the caption reads, “There are students with supernatural powers at our school.”

 

 

The first seven episodes of “Moving” will be released together on August 9, after which two new episodes will be released each week.

Disney+ original series “Moving” has shared the first glimpse of its star-studded lineup of actors in character!

 

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Moving” is a new superhero action drama about teenagers with hidden superhuman powers and their parents who, unbeknownst to them, harbor a painful secret from their past. They eventually team up to battle powerful dark forces that threaten multiple generations across different eras.

 

The drama’s first teaser begins with Bong Seok (played by Lee Jung Ha) who has the special superpower to fly. At first glance, it seems like Bong Seok is just lying on the floor of his bedroom normally, but the teaser quickly shows that Bong Seok is actually fast asleep on the ceiling of his room. Confused about his identity, he asks fellow superhuman friend Hee Soo (Go Yoon Jung) if she thinks they’re strange. In a calm and reassuring tone, Hee Soo replies, “I think we’re just different. How are we strange? I think we’re just special.”

 

The trailer then begins to show all the leading actors in their characters for the first time. Starting from the appearance of Ryu Seung Ryong as Joo Won, Jo In Sung as Doo Shik, Han Hyo Joo as Mi Hyun, Cha Tae Hyun as Kye Do, Ryu Seung Bum as Frank, Kim Sung Kyun as Jae Man, Lee Jung Ha as Bong Seok, Go Yoon Jung as Hee Soo, and Kim Do Hoon as Kang Hoon, anticipation is high to see what adventure lies ahead of these superhumans.

 

Finally, the teaser ends with Hee Soo saying, “You’re not strange. You are just a little different and special.”

Go Yoon Jung Shares How She Prepared For Her Role As Superhuman In Upcoming Drama “Moving”

Get ready to see a new side of Go Yoon Jung in the upcoming Disney+ original series “Moving”!

 

Based on the webtoon of the same name, “Moving” is a new superhero action drama about teenagers with hidden superhuman powers and their parents who, unbeknownst to them, harbor a painful secret from their past. They eventually team up to battle powerful dark forces that threaten multiple generations across different eras.

 

The drama boasts a star-studded cast that includes Go Yoon Jung, Ryu Seung Ryong, Jo In Sung, Han Hyo Joo, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryu Seung Bum, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Jung Ha, and Kim Do Hoon.

 

Go Yoon Jung plays Jang Hee Soo, the daughter of Jang Joo Won (Ryu Seung Ryong). Jang Hee Soo is a high school senior who is preparing for the entrance examination for the College of Physical Education. Inheriting her father’s special superpower, Hee Soo is gifted with incredible regenerative abilities. Because Hee Soo always feels sorry for her father who always sacrifices everything for her, she always gives him her brightest smile and supports him unconditionally.

 

 

One day, due to a series of unfortunate incidents that happened in her past, Hee Soo is transferred to a new school (Jeong Won High School) where she now becomes apathetic to her surrounding and acts distant. Eventually, Hee Soo starts to find her smile and old self again upon building a friendship with Bong Seok (Lee Jung Ha) after the two share a secret they both have in common.

 

Regarding her upcoming transformation as Jang Hee Soo, Go Yoon Jung remarked, “I was so passionate about the character. I felt like [it’s a character that] I can do well and will be fun to play.” The “Alchemy of Souls Part 2” actress then raised more anticipation for her character by saying, “The way we speak and our personalities are also similar.”

 

 

To fully immerse in her role, Go Yoon Jung is also revealed to have attended a hagwon (cram school) for real students who are preparing for the college of physical education’s entrance examinations. On this, the drama’s martial arts director Ryu Sung Chul commented, “She’s successfully turned the raw movements that actors usually have into something far more realistic. Please look forward to Go Yoon Jung’s action [scenes].”

 

Veteran actor Ryu Seung Ryong, who stars as her father in the drama, also gave Go Yoon high praise, saying, “She’s a solid and bright actress. She is a crucial part of the drama.” Lastly, producing director Park In Je explained that he cast the actress due to her strong and energetic image and stated, “She’s the perfect [actress] for the role.”
