Aragaki Yui & Hoshino Gen's drama 'Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu' to return as a special drama in January

Aragaki Yui and Hoshino Gen's drama 'Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu' will be coming back with a special in January of 2021. 

 

An adaptation of Umino Tsunami's manga, the drama portrayed the "contract marriage" between 'Moriyama Mikuri' (Aragaki), a graduate student with no job and no boyfriend, and 'Tsuzaki Hiramasa' (Hoshino), a single businessman with no experience in love. The upcoming special will be based on the manga's 10th and 11th volumes when the two decide to actually get married. The script will be written by Nogi Akiko who was also in charge of the script for the 2016 drama. 

 

Besides Aragaki and Hoshino, Otani Ryohei, Fujii Takashi, Mano Erina, Narita Ryo, Furutachi Kanji, Hosoda Yoshihiko, Moro Morooka, Takahashi Hitomi, Ukaji Takashi, Tomita Yasuko, Furuta Arata, and Ishida Yuriko will all be reprising their roles.

Yui Aragaki & Gen Hoshino are cast in TBS live-action drama special “The Full-Time Wife Escapist: New Year’s Special.” The drama special is based on manga series “Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu” by Tsunami Umino and a sequel to 2016 TBS drama series “The Full-Time Wife Escapist.” The drama special will have Yui Aragaki’s character Mikuri Moriyama becoming pregnant and marrying Gen Hoshino’s character Hiramasa Tsuzaki.

“The Full-Time Wife Escapist: New Year’s Special” will air January 2, 2021 in Japan.

 

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Mikuri (Yui Aragaki) and Hiramasa (Gen Hoshino) both work and share housework duties. They have peaceful days together. One day, Mikuri learns that she is pregnant. They decide to marry, but they soon face problems. Mikuri suffers from pregnancy sickness and Hiramasa decides to take a paternity leave before an important project is finished. The couple experience unfamiliar situations involving childbirth and rearing. They go through difficult times.
