shinkeru
Some of the scenes this episode hit really hard I have to share some thoughts. Dal: in a way, I can understand why he left. All the killings were eating him up inside. He will turn into a madman if he stayed. With Lady Sa’s death, it was the last straw. Too much death of his loved ones he couldn’t bear the thought of losing Ga Jin. He is blaming himself for failing to protect his mom. I think the thought of losing Ga Jin if he failed to protect her would be too much for him. It was interesting to note his conversation, rather his argument, he had with Lady Sa. She knows him too well. At his core, he longs for peaceful living. He will never really be happy with what living in the Palace brings. Some may say he is a coward but I think that takes a lot of strength to walk away from someone you love so much because you know staying will only destroy both of you. As much as I hate his decision to leave, I think that if he stays, both he and Ga Jin will just be going in circles. Something’s gotta give. Ga Jin: she will need to make some choices. What is it that she really wants? Dal has asked her before if she seeks for the Throne. I’m glad all the baddies were taken care of. She did what she had to do, that is, protect Goguryeo and its people. But is it worth the cost of losing someone she loves? Geon: as much as I see how great an actor he is, I really can’t root for his character. This episode when he kills Lady Sa was the lowest of lows. I just can’t have any respect or sympathy for a character that kills defenseless people. Sorry, I know he has some fans here. His obsession with Ga Jin turns into obsession for the Throne. I think his affections for Ga Jin wasn’t really love but the power that being married to her will bring him. So now that Gochuga tribe is dissolved, he switches sides to where he thinks he can have that advantage to take over. In my opinion, his feelings for Mo Yong is the same as what he had for Ga Jin. As for Mo Yong, well if she doesn’t recognize what Geon is doing, I just really feel sad for her that she is letting Geon use her. Of all the four main characters, I think it’s Mo Yong and Dal who are truly genuine with their affections. Okay, I’ll amend this, maybe Ga Jin does too, but she’s taking Dal for granted. Unless Ga Jin or Geon decide to turn their backs on what they’re fighting for, I don’t think they will really be happy. Okay, I’m gonna go back to my crying corner now, here’s a video clip of our PyeongOn couple having their lunch date, something to soften the heartbreak. 1 1 1

shinkeru
Ga Jin in sword fight action was really cool. Geon and Dal sword fight. Have to applaud all the cast who have to do fight scenes. Saw this posted... it’s an interview with a reporter, a critic, and a professor of Korean Traditional Culture (according to the translation) about the meaning and value of the show, exploring the real characters behind the folktale, their romance, etc. Credit to UdanOrr for the heads up. I hope we can get subtitles for it or a summary of what they said.

I hope we can get subtitles for it or a summary of what they said too...and they did changed the history...The Silla king is still alive...is 4 years later...i think he killed Northen chief and won the war in 574 so we are in 578...the princess father shoud still be king but we see her brother is the king...did he died or abdicated? If is still alive he should return... i noticed in one of the preview that Jin ,lord Sa and his son are taken prisoners...maybe arrested or are Silla's or general Go prisoners? What happened?I hope Gajin will let her brother alone and return with her man to the only place she was happy...

andy78
Kim So Hyun And Na In Woo Tenderly Embrace As They Reunite In “River Where The Moon Rises” Romance is blooming once again between Kim So Hyun and Na In Woo in KBS 2TV’s “River Where the Moon Rises,” but more trouble in the form of Lee Ji Hoon and Choi Yoo Hwa await. “River Where the Moon Rises” is a reinterpretation of a classic Goguryeo folk tale that tells the love story between Princess Pyeonggang (Kim So Hyun) and On Dal (Na In Woo). In the April 12 broadcast, Pyeonggang and On Dal separated from each other. After walking a bloody path as Pyeonggang’s sword, On Dal resolved to leave the palace when Lady Sa (Hwang Young Hee), the person who had raised him, was killed by Go Geon (Lee Ji Hoon). This decision was also made in order to protect Pyeonggang as On Dal began to lose the people precious to him one by one. Four years later, King Pyeongwon (Kim Bup Rae) has died, and King Yeongyang’s (Kwon Hwa Woon’s) Goguryeo has begun. Nonetheless, On Dal had yet to return while Pyeonggang struggled on the battlefield for Goguryeo. Unlike when she was by On Dal’s side, Pyeonggang looked lonely and tired, making viewers’ hearts ache. However, the newly released stills preview a heartwarming reunion between Pyeonggang and On Dal. In the pictures, Pyeonggang looks squarely at On Dal, but On Dal’s gaze is full of worry as he looks back at her. After they share a conversation, the two finally embrace. On Dal lovingly takes Pyeonggang into his arms, and Pyeonggang leans into his warm embrace. Spoiler Spoiler Amidst growing curiosity for how the two will finally reunite and what their future will hold for them, the production team shared, “Although Pyeonggang and On Dal love each other and are fated for one another, they had a long period of separation. Please look forward to whether they’ll be able to continue on together through their reunion and how Kim So Hyun and Na In Woo portrayed this scene with their acting teamwork.” In another set of stills, Go Geon and Hae Mo Yong (Choi Yoo Hwa) are back inside Goguryeo’s palace holding a letter from Silla’s King Jinheung. Spoiler Spoiler King Yeongyang is surprised to see the pair in front of him, and he holds a sword to Go Geon’s throat even though Go Geon had once been his teacher. Go Geon stands strong and unwavering as he stares back at King Yeongyang. Pyeonggang is also present at the scene, eyeing Go Geon. Many years in the past, Go Geon had killed Pyeonggang’s mother Queen Yeon (also played by Kim So Hyun), and Pyeonggang killed Go Geon’s father Go Won Pyo (Lee Hae Young) four years ago. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler The drama’s producers commented about the scene, “Go Geon and Hae Mo Yong are traitors to Goguryeo. Stepping on Goguryeo land is a dangerous act that could get them killed. However, as they are envoys from a different country, killing them could lead to diplomatic issues. Please look forward to episode 18 of ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ to see how King Yeongyang, Pyeonggang, and Goguryeo’s officials will react to the appearance of Go Geon and Hae Mo Yong.” The next episode of “River Where the Moon Rises” airs on April 13 at 9:30 p.m. KST. https://www.soompi.com/article/1463898wpp/kim-so-hyun-and-na-in-woo-tenderly-embrace-as-they-reunite-in-river-where-the-moon-rises i wonder what will make our general return to war...will be general Go...finding he killed his mom? thanks so much to the team... 3

shinkeru
Young King is letting his insecurities get the better of him. What’s with the preview? He locks up his sister next week. I feel bad for Mo Yong. But now she will spy for the Queen. What is her plan? Is it really to help the Queen’s son Geon Mu or is it still for Silla? It looks like Silla will push through with their invasion next week. Correction: the battle next week is at Adan Fortress. I think that’s not Silla war. Ondal died at the battle in Mt Achasan. Ga Jin and Dal clearly still love each other. Their encounters are always so emotional.

GG told her he loves her and yet he said those things to PG. I guess there’s really no happy ending for this couple and she’ll probably die just as that... spy of everyone OTP’s scenes are so sad. ferily
Waaah, so many heartbreaking scenes with our OTP in Episode 18... You know that the two still love and long for each other even though 4 years has passed. Poong Gae and Jin newly weds though! Go Geon coming back as Silla envoy trying to stir up some trouble in Gogoryeo Also poor Mo Yong for hearing him say all of that... She does truly love Go Geon so I bet her hearing Go Geon say that to Pyeonggang breaks her heart a bit The crown prince acting this way because of what he heard On Dal and Gajin say to each other before he left? About her becoming King? Hmm.. I know that 4 years passed, but it didn't take long for On Dal to pick up the sword again (I mean it was only 1 episode for us!) But yes, like you guys said, at least the two of them (Dal and Gajin) will be on the battlefield together. Wonder what will happen now with Silla and Gogoryeo since the Crown Prince King declined the alliance. Seems like Go Geon and Mo Yong escape in the middle of the night?

andy78
i hope he will wake up at ep 19 end or at least in ep 20...become a true king and a real man...i hope will not be too late like it happened with his father and mother...his father fears killed the late queen...i hope he will not kill his sister and Dal same way his father killed queen YEON... my total respect for her... THE SCENE : GaJin looking at the King’s seat makes me wonder if GaJin will become queen at the end...Or she and Dal will quietly leave the palace ...I hope she will chose Dal and leave...
