Ji Soo Saves Kim So Hyun’s Life In Upcoming Drama “River Where The Moon Rises”

KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “River Where the Moon Rises” has shared an intriguing new sneak peek of its two leads!

A reinterpretation of a classic Goguryeo folk tale, “River Where the Moon Rises” will tell the famous love story of Princess Pyeonggang (played by Kim So Hyun) and On Dal (played by Ji Soo).

In this retelling of the famous story, though Pyeonggang was born as the princess of Goguryeo, she has lived her life up until now as Yeom Ga Jin, a fierce warrior of an entirely different social status. Yeom Ga Jin is known for her strength and her impressive fighting skills, which have earned her the reputation of being the top warrior of her group.

However, in newly released stills from the drama, Pyeonggang unexpectedly finds herself in danger. Collapsed on top of On Dal, she appears weak and helpless as he valiantly carries her to safety, raising the question of what could have happened to the seemingly unbeatable warrior.

Meanwhile, as a pacifist who hates to see any living creature harmed, On Dal is both deeply worried and passionate about rescuing Pyeonggang, and the intense look of concern in his eyes reveals his determination to save her life.

They added, “Although it begins with a coincidence, they gradually become entangled through their own will. We hope that you will look forward to their epic story as you wait for the first episode of ‘River Where the Moon Rises.'”

“River Where The Moon Rises” Director And Writer Dish On What To Look Forward To In The Drama

“River Where The Moon Rises” Director And Writer Dish On What To Look Forward To In The Drama

With just two days left until the drama’s premiere, the director and writer of KBS 2TV’s “River Where the Moon Rises” have shared their thoughts on what viewers can look forward to!

A reinterpretation of a classic Goguryeo folk tale, “River Where the Moon Rises” will tell the famous love story of Princess Pyeonggang (played by Kim So Hyun) and On Dal (played by Ji Soo).

When asked what viewers should keep an eye on as they watch the drama, director Yoon Sang Ho replied, “‘River Where the Moon Rises’ is a feast of characters with unique, distinctive traits. I think viewers will be able to enjoy exploring the various characters’ different charms while watching the drama.”

In this retelling of the famous story, Pyeonggang is born the princess of Goguryeo, but she winds up living her life as Yeom Ga Jin, a warrior of an entirely different social status.

“In contrast to the familiar, well-known tale of the crybaby Princess Pyeonggang and the fool On Dal, our drama’s main character Pyeonggang is a warrior,” said the director. “The key point of our drama is the way that one word, ‘warrior,’ completely changes the vibe of the story. Another thing to keep an eye on is the exciting action scenes that will play up that key point.”

Yoon Sang Ho went on to add, “The most important point to keep an eye on is the beautiful love that develops between Pyeonggang, who has a powerful charisma, and On Dal, who is gentle and pure-hearted in contrast.”

“In particular,” he continued, “I hope that you will look forward to the beauty of the cinematography and the sensuous and dynamic imagery created by director Yoon Sang Ho, a historical-drama veteran.”

Finally, the writer shared, “When discussing what to keep an eye on in the drama, it’s impossible not to mention the charms of the actors, who have been showing top-class acting performances regardless of their generation. ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ has an abundance of all these fun-to-watch elements.”

Get ready for a fateful encounter between Kim So Hyun and Kang Ha Neul in the upcoming drama “River Where the Moon Rises”!

A reinterpretation of a classic Goguryeo folk tale, “River Where the Moon Rises” is a KBS drama that will tell the famous love story of Princess Pyeonggang (played by Kim So Hyun) and On Dal (played by Ji Soo). Kim So Hyun will also play the role of Pyeonggang’s mother, Queen Yeon, while Kang Ha Neul will play On Dal’s father, General On Hyup.

In a newly released sneak peek of the drama, Pyeonggang and On Dal share their very first meeting as children. The young princess (played by Heo Jung Eun) has accompanied her mother on a long journey to the southernmost part of the kingdom, where they meet On Hyup and his son On Dal (the younger version of whom is played by Seo Dong Hyun).

A revered general and the chief of the Sunnobu tribe, On Hyup is in charge of protecting Goguryeo’s southern borders. Together with his son, he respectfully greets the queen while kneeling to bow to her. However, both Pyeonggang and On Dal look intensely displeased as they glare at one another, piquing viewers’ curiosity as to what could have transpired between the children.

Meanwhile, the matching looks of deep concern on Queen Yeon’s and General On Hyup’s faces suggest that there is an unsettling reason why the queen has traveled all this way with her young daughter in tow.
