Hi! Honestly I tried but made it only to ep 2...may be will watch it when it all comes out. I can't say it's smth I'm 100% captivated with... and right now with all New Year's hassle and bustle I just decided to leave it for now.

@SilverDawn I think it's interesting.  I'm missing out watching dramas due to busy RL, but I'd be adding this too in the watch list since I wanna see again the acting chops of Vin Zhang.

I understand, I'm the same way. But I have really been looking out for this drama for what seemed like forever so I couldn't help myself. I'm on Ep18 and have to wait for further episodes.  Let me know your thoughts when you've started watching.

Cingue I understand. After watching TMoPB and ELoD nothing else seemed as interesting for a while. But do add it to your watch list and check it out at a later date.   

I hope Vengo's vampire drama the shadow will air soon!

The drama version is quite different from the novel. The character names are the same but the backgrounds and motivations have been changed. Eg. Lu Li and his shifu are now demon vanquishers , whereas in the novel, the ‘shifu’ is himself a demon.

 

Omiki, did you read a translation? I've searched for it but so far no luck.

@SilverDawn Don’t know if a translation is available. If it is, then I shall be very impressed with the translator because the original is already hard enough to read! Thanks for reminding me, I think I stopped at chapter 120+, just another several more chapters to plough through then, hopefully, I’ll know the point of this whole story. As for the drama, I think I stopped at 10+ and couldn’t find motivation to continue. Enjoy!

I rate this show 5.0/10 , bad , not worth watching

the black smoke turned less ambitious and satisfied just being supreme king instead of some apocalypse to mind control every living thing on the planet
last few episodes is just the lead actor playing white/black alter ego , must deduct point for this simplified plot

confusing dual ending , i thought he manage to freeze time and have a second chance to sacrifice himself instead ,
turns out it's 2 separate ending to satisfy the fans whether they want their favorite actor or actress to be the survivor
abrupt fast ending where the director or scriptwriter became lazy and just go "let's revive everybody who died"

music was alright
commendable the actress had to act painful and remain pretty without pinching lines between the eyebrows and forehead

I agree with the ending... it was very confusing and felt rushed. 

All in all I did enjoy this drama
