Updated September 17 KST:

Kim Myung Min, Ryu Hye Young, Kim Bum, and Lee Jung Eun have been confirmed for JTBC’s new drama “Law School” (working title).

“Law School” is about the students and professors of South Korea’s top law school who get caught up in an unusual case.

Kim Myung Min has been cast as Yang Jong Hoon, a criminal law professor who used to be an elite prosecutor. His harsh words make him the No. 1 professor to avoid among the students, but there is something addictive about his strict teaching methods that refuses to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession.

Ryu Hye Young has been cast as Kang Sol, a first-year law student who overcame poverty and misfortune in childhood to gain special admission to the law school. She walks a path of thorns due to the constant sense of deprivation and shame compared to the wealth and talent around her, but her passion will teach her the truth about what it means to be a lawyer.

Kim Bum has been cast as Han Joon Hwi, another first-year law student who is at the top of his class. He’s a natural leader whose good looks and easy charm make him the perfect man on paper. However, he has an unexpected side of him that he keeps hidden.

Lee Jung Eun, best known for her role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” has been cast as Kim Eun Sook, a civil law professor who used to be the head of the law school’s legal clinic for free legal services. Her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality gave her the reputation for being a master in court, and she is famous for being a relatable professor at the law school. She is also the only colleague in whom Yang Jong Hoon confides.

A source from the drama stated, “This drama is set against the backdrop of South Korea’s first law school and combines a legal thriller with a campus drama. Kim Bum, Kim Myung Min, Ryu Hye Young, and Lee Jung Eun are a tough legal team of professors and students. Please look forward to seeing their brilliant acting and refreshing new characters in this story of young lawyers-in-training.”

Kim Myung-min, Ryu Hye-young, Kim Bum, and Lee Jung-eun confirmed for new JTBC drama

by tineybeanie

Kim Bum, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Myung-min, Ryu Hye-young

Upcoming drama Law School tells the story of Korea’s most prestigious and competitive law school professors and students becoming involved in an unprecedented case regarding a campus mystery. Recently, Kim Bum (Mrs. Cop 2), Lee Jung-eun (Once Again, When the Camellia Blooms), Kim Myung-min (Miracle That We Met), and Ryu Hye-young (Eun-joo’s Room, Answer Me 1988) confirmed their casting in Law School.

Kim Myung-min stars as a former-prosecutor-turned-criminal-law-professor who has stepped on an elite path his entire life. His venomous wit and blunt manner makes him the most dreaded professor amongst students. He has but one philosophy: he’ll tolerate students who do not become excellent legal minds, but he cannot tolerate those who become legal leeches, using the gray lines of the law to profit from injustice.

Ryu Hye-young returns to the smallscreen after a hiatus of two years as a first-year law school student. Coming from extreme poverty, she’s an affirmative action student who wants to break out of her roots and soar. (Lol, it’s like she’s still her character from Answer Me 1988.) Although she’s surrounded by students that make her feel wanting, her passion for the law lets her hold her head high through it all.

Like Ryu Hye-young, Kim Bum is also set to play a first-year law student. He entered with top marks in his class, and on top of that, he has an easygoing leadership when studying in groups. He’s incredibly good-looking, but he has a hidden inner side that belies what’s on the surface.

Any drama with Kim Myung Min, I'm on board. I highly recommend anyone who isn't familiar with him to give his dramas a try. Nice to see Ryu Hye Young in a major role. Like others have said, it almost seems like sung bora's story continues with this drama, lol. I've always had a soft spot for Kim Bum, and of course Lee Jung Eun is always great. Never watched Go Yoon Jung before, but I've heard nothing but great things about the Sweet Home cast so I'm looking forward to her as well. Looking forward to seeing more info/promo.

I also like Kim Myung Min and want to see him in well written drama. And this could be it. This being  Legal thriller genre  which means will get that suspense/mystery thriller plot I dig. I like watching actors in character taylor made for them like, in this drama he'll play a strict law professor. He's harsh one but method of teaching is addictive.

So perhis  like HTGAWM slash Solomon Perjury in a sense.  The academe will be in shambles. Student's and professors will be suspects. We'll see legal loopholes being used to either save or bring forth justice. We'll see how law and justice system works.

Can you tell I'm excited. I like this type of drama.

He was only 19 when BOF aired actually, lol (early 2009 before his birthday). He debuted pretty young for someone who wasn't a child actor - of course, who could forget his start with high kick.

As an elite chief prosecutor, he kept the principles and principles and tried to implement justice, but he has the story of having to take off his legal uniform. He later stepped up in front of law school students with the conviction that he would not make a single'Bobku Large'.

Since I was born with both the thorough logic of prosecutors, the insight to look ahead, and the tenacity and tenacity to dig into the goal, even among the best prestigious law school students of Korea University who boast the top 1% of brains. It is called the'Yancrates' of fear in the state of evil.

The still cut, which was released today (25th), contains the extraordinary force of Kim Myung-min, who was 200%'attached' to the'problematic professor' Yang Jong-hoon. The sharp eyes that seem to swallow the students make us guess why all students light up their eyes and concentrate during the Criminal Law lecture. Students are frustrated by his method of teaching, which he rushes without appreciation. The production crew introduced, "Yang Jong-hoon is a person who does not lose his posture as a good lawyer and screams for justice." It has two-sided charms in that it maintains a strict stance fairly to everyone,” he added.

Kim Bum and Kim Myung Min will be making unique transformations in the new JTBC drama “Law School” (working title)!

“Law School” is about the students and professors of South Korea’s top law school who get caught up in an unusual case.

The drama gave a sneak peek at Kim Bum and Kim Myung Min’s characters in the drama. First off, Kim Bum will play Han Joon Hwi, a first-year law student who is at the top of his class. Han Joon Hwi is a role model to his classmates, and he creates his own study group where he helps boosts their grades. He generously shares his information and knowledge with his classmates, and he is a natural leader who helps take care of team members who fall into despair.

The newly released stills show Han Joon Hwi’s campus life. He focuses on the lecture and diligently takes notes, and he leads the learning atmosphere in a meticulous manner. His eyes spark with confidence and determination as he strives to become a prosecutor who can speak against fellow prosecutors who ignore the principles of law and justice.

The production team praised Kim Bum, saying, “Kim Bum, who was so passionate about filming that he could not let go of the script, clearly portrayed a three-dimensional character named Han Joon Hwi with his soft charm. As someone who entered the country’s most prestigious law school at the top of his class, he will uncover the truth of the case, so please look forward to it.”
