Jisoo Talks About Working With Jung Hae In For “Snowdrop,” Support From BLACKPINK, And More

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo talked about her upcoming JTBC drama “Snowdrop”!

 

“Snowdrop,” which will be helmed by the director and writer of JTBC’s smash hit “SKY Castle,” is set in Seoul in 1987. The drama will tell the love story of Su Ho (Jung Hae In), a student at a prestigious university who suddenly rushes into a women’s university dorm covered in blood one day, and Young Ro (Jisoo), a student at the women’s university who hides him and takes care of his wounds even while facing danger under close surveillance.

 

Jisoo shared, “Young Ro, the character I’ve taken on, is very charming. She’s a figure who has just turned 20, but the power she has to draw people in has been passed on to me. The way she gradually matures even though she’s still learning is really cool.” On similarities with her character, Jisoo revealed, “It’s the aspect of delivering bright energy to people and putting in effort so that everyone can get along well.”

 

Young Ro is a cheerful student who brightens the atmosphere at Hosu Women’s University dorm No. 207. She goes with her roommate to a blind date within the dorms and falls in love with Su Ho at first sight.

 

 

Jisoo shared, “While filming, I put in effort to think like Young Ro and to act like Young Ro. The most memorable moment was talking endlessly with director Jo Hyun Tak about Young Ro. I prepared while continuously thinking about what Young Ro means to Su Ho in order to not forget it.”

 

Regarding what it’s like on set, Jisoo revealed, “I got really close to everyone while filming, so it really felt like I was living in the dorms. In particular, I met up with the friends I’m rooming with since before the broadcast in order to get closer while practicing and hanging out together, so it was fun making the drama together.”

 

The actress also touched upon her chemistry with Jung Hae In. She shared, “It’s really lucky for me that Jung Hae In is the first actor I’m starring opposite of. From the first shoot to the last, he monitored the scenes with me, and he was reliable because he led [the set] and listened well to my concerns about the role. I think his greatest charm is that he listens carefully and sincerely thinks over everyone’s concerns.”

 

Jisoo also revealed how the BLACKPINK members reacted to her drama. She explained, “They sent word that they’ll definitely be tuning in. Since the members supported me and expressed curiosity, I also gained strength and was able to work harder on filming.”

 

Regarding points to look out for in the drama, Jisoo picked the beautiful shots made by the director and staff, the stories of the diverse figures in “Snowdrop,” and the well-suited music that will play with perfect timing.

 

On the changes she experienced after filming “Snowdrop,” Jisoo revealed, “I feel that the diverse emotions I normally didn’t experience have broadened. As Young Ro matured, I felt like I also matured one step further. I won’t be able to forget this experience in which many people gathered their strength together to complete [the drama].”

 

“Snowdrop” premieres on December 18 at 10:30 p.m. KST.

In the JTBC Saturday drama 'Snowdrop' (written by Yoo Hyun-mi/directed by Jo Hyun-tak), Yoo In-na takes on the role of 'Kang Cheong-ya', a surgeon at a university hospital, showing off her new charm. 

The stills released by the production team on December 9 contain Yoo In-na wearing glasses and a doctor's gown. When he was talking to someone on the phone, he had an expressionless expression that could not be understood, and when he was wearing plain clothes, he showed a bright smile.

 

 

Kang Cheong-ya, played by Yoo In-na, is a surgeon at the National Medical Center, a doctor who gains trust with her abilities in the operating room, but also possesses a fatal charm that overwhelms any opponent at once. Yoo In-na is expected to perfectly play the role of Kang Cheong-ya, who is beautiful and intelligent, but does not know what is hiding inside, with her unique colorful charm.

JTBC’s upcoming drama “Snowdrop” has shared a glimpse of Yoo In Na in character!

 

“Snowdrop,” which will be helmed by the director and writer of JTBC’s smash hit “SKY Castle,” is set in Seoul in 1987. The drama will tell the love story of Su Ho, a student at a prestigious university who suddenly rushes into a women’s university dorm covered in blood one day (played by Jung Hae In), and Young Ro, a student at the women’s university who hides him and takes care of his wounds even while facing danger under close surveillance (played by BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo).

 

Yoo In Na will be starring as Kang Chung Ya, a beautiful and talented surgeon at a state-run hospital who can charm anyone in a split second. Although her skills in the operating room have earned her a solid reputation as a dependable surgeon, the mysterious Kang Chung Ya appears to be hiding something.

 

In one of the newly released stills, Kang Chung Ya is spotted wearing black-framed glasses and a doctor’s gown. She talks on the phone with someone with an unreadable expression. However, the next photo shows her looking a bit more relaxed with a warm smile as she’s sitting in a casual environment without her scrubs on.

The production team of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Snow Ganghwa', which will be aired on December 18, (played by Hyun-mi Yoo/directed by Hyun-tak Cho), released on-site stills of the intense confrontation between actors Jang Seung-jo and Jung Yu-jin on the 10th. 

The released still picture shows Jang Seung-jo as 'Lee Kang-moo,' the team leader of the Anti-Aircraft Investigation Bureau, and Jeong Yu-jin, who plays 'Jang Han-na', a team member, having a nervous battle. Kang-Moo Lee is portrayed as a stubborn, single-minded person from the organization with a personality that does not compromise under any circumstances. Jang Han-na, played by Jung Yu-jin, is a member of Lee Kang-mu's team, and is a solitary general who has never bowed down to her point of view due to her impulsive and hot-blooded personality.

 

The appearance of the two in the still picture is creating a tense tension that seems to never back down. In addition, the loneliness read at first glance from the appearance of Jang Han-na pointing a gun in the office and Lee Kang-moo's strong eyes is adding to the curiosity about the two people's narrative.

On December 11th, the production team of JTBC's Saturday drama 'Snowdrop’ (play Hyeonmi Yoo/director Hyuntak Cho) released stills of 'Pi Seung-hee' (Yun Se-ah), the dormitory manager, and 'Gye Boon-ok' (Kim Hye-yun), a telephone operator. Se-ah Yoon and Hye-yoon Kim reunited with the production team of 'SKY Castle' with more intense characters. 

In the published stills, Se-ah Yoon exuded a strong aura with her unique perm hair and black dress. With a face without makeup holding a pointing stick and a resolute expression on her face, she showed a presence that could not be seen in previous works. Also, Kim Hye-yoon is talking with Yoon Se-ah while holding a roll call record in the hallway, raising expectations for the chemistry the two will create. 

Pi Seung-hee, played by Yoon Se-ah, is the headmaster of the dormitory at Lake of Terror. She wears a black skirt that goes down to her toes even in midsummer with a cold expression like ice. The absolute power of the dormitory and the thoroughbreds with a thoroughness that doesn't seem like a drop of blood will come out even if stabbed. 

Gye Boon-ok, played by Hye-yoon Kim, is a telephone operator in the dormitory of Lake Women's University. It is hard work to change the phone calls received for 13 hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., but it is even more stressful because of the blood loss that treats her like a slave. 

The production team of 'Snowdrop' said, "Please watch and see how the two people who are the symbols of the dormitory will change as they face an unusual incident."

'Snowdrop' is a story about a desperate love story between Suho (Jung Hae-in), a prestigious college student who ran into a female dormitory in a bloody mess, and Young-ro (Joo Ji-soo), a female college student who hid and healed him in the midst of a crisis, set in Seoul in 1987. First broadcast at 10:30 pm on the December 18th.

JTBC’s upcoming drama “Snowdrop” has shared an intriguing glimpse of Jang Seung Jo and Jung Yoo Jin in character!

 

Helmed by the director and writer of JTBC’s smash hit “SKY Castle,” “Snowdrop” is a new drama set in Seoul in 1987. The drama will tell the love story of Su Ho, a student at a prestigious university who suddenly rushes into a women’s university dorm covered in blood one day (played by Jung Hae In), and Young Ro, a student at the women’s university who hides him and takes care of his wounds even while facing danger under close surveillance (played by BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo).

 

Jang Seung Jo will star as Lee Kang Moo, the relentless head of the National Security Planning Agency’s investigation team, while Jung Yoo Jin will play Jang Han Na, an impulsive and hot-tempered agent on his team.

 

The notoriously stubborn Lee Kang Moo refuses to compromise in any given situation, and he is known for having a one-track mind at work. However, Jang Han Na is just as strong-willed and obstinate when it comes to asserting her opinion, and her fiery personality makes her a force to be reckoned with.

 

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama capture the two agents’ equally powerful auras: neither character appears likely to back down in a fight.

 

 

Notably, Lee Kang Moo has a strong and yet somewhat sorrowful gaze, piquing viewers’ curiosity as to the character’s backstory, while Jang Han Na boldly draws her gun in a confrontation at the office, yet still manages to look as calm and composed as ever.
