I have caught up on this show, and I really hope Ji Won does not end up with the ML. Either SL or alone. I actually like what little we have seen of the SL so far, but they need to show us more.

I agree with you on that, she needs to love herself more nod.

CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk And Jung In Sun Embody Adulthood In 1st Stills For “How To Be Thirty”

Upcoming Kakao M drama “How To Be Thirty” released its first set of stills of Jung In Sun and CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk!

“How To Be Thirty” is a relatable romance that deals with the work and love lives of three 30-year-old women. The drama follows the story that unfolds when webtoon author Seo Ji Won (Jung In Sun) meets her publisher Lee Seung Yoo (Kang Min Hyuk), who is also her first love from middle school.

The recently revealed sneak peek of the drama’s script reading hinted at the warm breeze of spring the drama will bring. The newly released stills only add to the anticipation of what kind of story will be told!

jung-in-sun1.jpg

For one, Jung In Sun has transformed into Seo Ji Won, a well-known webtoon author with a bold, eccentric, and lovely charm. Her refreshing energy radiates through the photos, from being an author “in the zone” with work to being a mature professional in the office, and finally to dancing without a care in the world.

Seo Ji Won is 30 years old but still waiting for adulthood to load. Given how she became a successful author after going through a period of desperation as an aspiring writer, she knows how to put her foot down and be professional when it comes to work. But with her friends, she can’t hide her childlike and bubbly nature. The photos perfectly capture a woman who is certainly established but still sees room for growth and wavers when it comes to love. As she reunites with her first love at work, her work and love lives are about to go through a stage of maturation in a way everyone can relate to.

kang-min-hyuk1.jpg

Lee Seung Yoo is the first role Kang Min Hyuk has taken on after being discharged from the military, but he does it so well that it’s hard to believe he ever took a break from acting. As a publisher, Lee Seung Yoo is a popular figure thanks to his tall height, well-rounded looks, and admirable work ability. Similar to Seo Ji Won’s case, the photos show the various sides of him. He has a stern face and gaze in one, but a mischievous look and gentle smile in the others.

Lee Seung Yoo is both Seo Ji Won’s first love from the past and a potential love interest in the present, and his unpredictable charms shake up Seo Ji Won’s heart. His pure smile, paired with an irresistible and mysterious charm, will pull in viewers who dream of romance at 30. Kang Min Hyuk is set to skillfully pull off the character and add to the chemistry with onscreen partner Jung In Sun, who happens to be his age.

“How To Be Thirty” will be directed by Oh Ki Hwan, who has portrayed the trendiest forms of love. 30 is an age at which your story resembles something in between a cold winter and warm spring, where you want to cool off but still remain hot. Oh Ki Hwan plans on interpreting this story in a sentimental manner to captivate the viewers.

“How To Be Thirty” will have a total of 15 episodes, each 20 minutes long. The drama will premiere on February 23 at 5 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.

CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, Song Jae Rim, And Baek Sung Chul Have Very Different Approaches To Romance In “How To Be Thirty”

Kakao M’s upcoming drama “How To Be Thirty” has shared a new sneak peek of its three male leads!

“How To Be Thirty” is a relatable romance drama that follows the work and love lives of women who have just entered their thirties.

With its premiere less than two weeks away, here’s a glimpse of the three very different male leads who will be stealing viewers’ hearts in the upcoming story:

1. The same-aged first love

Kang-Min-Hyuk2.jpg

Spoiler

Kang-Min-Hyuk-2.jpg

CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk will star in the drama as Lee Seung Yoo, a webtoon publisher who also happens to be webtoon author Seo Ji Won (Jung In Sun)’s first love from middle school. When they meet again for the first time in 15 years, he initially pretends not to recognize her, and he also coolly keeps his distance from her at work. However, when the two are alone together, Lee Seung Yoo does things that make Seo Ji Won’s heart flutter—almost as if they were back in middle school, except that Lee Seung Yoo is now a full head taller than her.

Although sparks fly between the two characters after their sudden reunion, the 30-year-old Lee Seung Yoo is now at an age where he is unable to act on impulse and be completely honest about his feelings without weighing the consequences. It remains to be seen whether the love story between Seo Ji Won and Lee Seung Yoo, who is more used to taking than giving, will have a happy ending.

2. The mature older guy

Song-Jae-Rim1.jpg

Spoiler

Song-Jae-Rim-2.jpg

Song Jae Rim will play the role of film director Cha Do Hoon, who has all the charms one might hope for in an older man: reliability, a charismatic presence, and the uncanny ability to be there when Seo Ji Won needs him most. Although his reticent nature and his cold manner of speaking might lead to misunderstandings, Cha Do Hoon is a dependable character who remains steadfastly by Seo Ji Won’s side as he quietly watches over her, lending a shoulder in moments of need.

Cha Do Hoon, who is in charge of directing the film adaptation of Seo Ji Woon’s webtoon, is a sharp perfectionist when he interacts with Seo Ji Won at work. However, in their everyday lives, he is a surprisingly tender person who knows when to show up with a banana milk to comfort Seo Ji Won. He isn’t aggressively forward, but he doesn’t play hard-to-get either; instead, he manages to achieve the perfect balance. His undeniable charm raises the question of whether he and Seo Ji Won will become more than friends—and what kind of love triangle the two characters will form with Lee Seung Yoo.

3. The adorably forward younger man

Baek-Sung-Chul1.jpg

Spoiler

Baek-Sung-Chul-2.jpg

Baek Sung Chul will play the 24-year-old Hyung Joon Young, who passionately expresses his feelings for Lee Ran Joo (played by EXID‘s Hani) without argument or reservation. The uncalculating Hyung Joon Young isn’t afraid of anything when it comes to love, and he is always ready to get his heart broken, so long as he can be with the person he likes.

As Lee Ran Joo is six years older than Hyung Joon Young, he initially lies about his age while boldly making advances on her—and though his forwardness surprises her, it also makes her heart skip more than one beat.

“How To Be Thirty” premieres on February 23 at 5 p.m. KST and will be available with subtitles on Viki.

Jung In Sun And CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk Talk About Portraying A Relatable Romance In Upcoming Drama “How To Be Thirty”

Upcoming Kakao M drama “How To Be Thirty” released new stills of Jung In Sun and CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk!

As 30-year-olds (by Korean age reckoning) themselves, Jung In Sun and Kang Min Hyuk were able to relate more to their characters. Although Jung In Sun has previously taken on a variety of roles such as a police officer worn down by reality, a woman whose work experience was cut off because she went all in on parenting, and a single mom, this will be her first time portraying the day to day life of someone her age. The actress shared, “It felt meaningful that I could tell a story about being 30 by meeting the project ‘How To Be Thirty’ in my 30s. I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to tell people about how life doesn’t change much even after turning 30 and about the work and love lives that we thought we would have succeeded in by now.”

Jung In Sun continued, “‘How To Be Thirty’ tells the story of work, love, and life in general. It’s a project that asks, ‘Where should I go and how?’ I liked that we could worry and think about it together.”

Jung-In-Sun2.jpg

The upcoming drama will also be Kang Min Hyuk’s first project since his discharge from the military. His character Lee Seung Yoo’s first love is also Seo Ji Won, and although he has kept those innocent memories of the past, he has a secret he hasn’t told anyone yet. Kang Min Hyuk will portray the concerns of a realistic 30-year-old man who dreams of a fateful romance with his first love but has no choice but to hold back his feelings.

Kang Min Hyuk shared, “I thought of ‘How To Be Thirty’ as a project I had to do. It’s a story of being 30 like I am, and it portrays a concern I’ve had at least once.” He added, “I think I’ll be able to portray a lot of the concerns of Kang Min Hyuk as a person as well. If I do that, I think the character will become richer.”

Kang-Min-Hyuk3.jpg

Meeting as 30-year-olds again, Seo Ji Won and Lee Seung Yoo still have the heart-fluttering feelings of first love from their middle school days, but so much time has passed that love has become that much more a part of reality. The two actors Jung In Sun and Kang Min Hyuk will vividly portray the relatable love lives of 30-year-olds as they awkwardly stumble into adulthood. They’ll feel the heart-fluttering excitement of reuniting after becoming successful while also getting tired of each other as they fight over work, portraying an exciting romance story viewers won’t be able to get enough of.

“How To Be Thirty” premieres on February 23 at 5 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.

EXID’s Hani Finds Herself Falling For A Younger Man In “How To Be Thirty”

Kakao M’s upcoming drama “How To Be Thirty” has unveiled new couple posters of EXID’s Hani and Baek Sung Chul!

“How To Be Thirty” is a relatable new romance drama that follows the work and love lives of women who have just entered their thirties. Jung In Sun will star as successful webtoon author Seo Ji Won, while Hani will be playing her close friend Lee Ran Joo, an announcer who achieved success at an early age, and CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk will be playing Seo Ji Won’s first love Lee Seung Yoo, whom she meets again as her publisher.

On February 18, the upcoming drama released two posters that capture the swoon-worthy chemistry between Lee Ran Joo and Hyung Joon Young (played by Baek Sung Chul), the sweet and surprisingly forward younger man who suddenly walks into her life. Although Lee Ran Joo believed that by the time she turned 30, she would already be an expert at love and dating, she finds herself embarking on an unexpected romance when this new and bold arrival sparks her curiosity.

The posters, which feature Hyung Joon Young expressing his feelings for Lee Ran Joo in his typically gentle-yet-bold manner, hint at the internal turmoil faced by Lee Ran Joo with their caption: “Thirty, an age at which you become curious about younger men.”
