I'm sorry, Han Seok is not as crazy as they made him out to be. I was hoping for such a bad guy to really challenge Vincenzo but I think they fell short of creating such a character. Like a Moriarty to Sherlock I was looking forward to. Someone mentioned earlier, Myung Hee and Han Seok only like killing people, their schemes aren't as creative...i was hoping this would have changed. I am glad Vincenzo got rid of that traitor prosecutor...he was getting on my nerves every time he was on screen. lol

It seems that I am of minority here who LOVED the ending to bits. It was a very satisfying ending for me. Major kudos to the writers for sticking to their guns. They allowed Vincenzo to embody a mafia

I couldn't agree more! That was a perfect kiss scene. From the very beginning, when the gallery director  started chanting for a kiss, you could see CY having that look of inner turmoil, but finally c

I hear you! I also don't think he's the same as Han Seung Hyeok, Choi Myung Hee, and Jang Han Seok, like, at all. Choi Myung Hee and Jang Han Seok were evil to the bone—I absolutely don't see Vincenzo

It looks like her shoulder is just about where Vincenzo's heart is, so if she had not stepped in, Vincenzo would be dead.

As much as I'd enjoy another parallel, I don't want V's confession to CY to turn comedic. I want it to be deeply emotional. V just watched the woman he loves took a bullet for him. If Hanseok didn't miss her heart, she would be dead right there and then. He should be frantic, scared for her life. All of his surpressed feelings should explode.

I agree with this 100%. Unless the parallel is serious then I don’t want it. I want a melo scene where he pours his heart out to her.

VC kneeling was better than any confession of love I could've asked for. He truly is acts of service and not a words kind of guy.

Y'all are too fixated on words.

Right shoulder, too.

I was waaaay for scared for Dongsaeng! He was shot in the left chest and shoulder. Did he die?

I don't know if anyone has said this but if vincenzo had helped hanseo with the crazy dude CY wouldn't have gotten shot.

I have so many questions concerning Myunghee.  Why did she frame herself for hanseok? is she in love?

Also I hope Vincenzo doesn't kill the owner of Wusang law firm. He does deserve to go to jail though

The scene with V being clingy made me realize that he actually has no friends, lol. Apart from Guemga family, Mr Cho and HanSeo he’s all alone in Korea though that’s about 15 people. It looked like he had no one to hang out with with Cha Young busy.

How smart was Cha Young to hit the kingmaker dude right when he was talking about the gold. I bet she didn’t want him to spill the beans thus the guemga tenants still don’t know about it, I wonder if they will ever find out about it. But V has to share it 7 ways now including to include the monks.

why does Vincenzo have to leave anyway? Is it because of his passport? Or he has to send the gold somewhere(Malta)?? I don’t get why he has to leave at all.

I know alot of ppl are complaining about VC's decision to escort CY to safety first instead of helping HSeo, and saying its uncharacteristic of him and that the drama is playing to makjang kdrama trope.

I get that gut reaction, but IDK how else it would have played out. I would have more difficulty accepting that VC could remain so cool-headed that he just leaves CY there and goes help HSeo out. VC thought CY was dead or seriously injured given the amount of blood on the earrings. HSeok has also just slapped her and is seconds away from shooting her. HSeo and HSeok are fighting and bullets are flying everywhere. VC still has PTSD from his mother's death. He is deathly afraid in this moment, and as he himself said, fear is the beginning of defeat. I would sideeye him if he went all consigliere in this moment and could calculate that he'll just leave CY sitting on the floor, no biggie.

Ppl have been complaining that VC is too superhuman and cold. Now the one time he displays vulnerability they're complaining he's too weak. Ugh.

Couldnt agree more. Especially the highlighted part.

Thoughts on episode 19 :

Did you guys see the young monk micro expression? Gosh, one of the many strengths of this drama is the well ensembled cast. They are equally good and have their own colors that contribute to the beauty of the show. I sincerely wish ALL of them to gain more opportunities and have more projects be it in small or big screen.

Another thing that is missing from ep 17-18 and thankfully return in this episode is the comedy! Mr. Nam with his wit switching the light on and off to give dramatical effect to the fight. Mi Ri's signature head banging. The celebration after opening the vault with them dancing, hugging, and singing the congratulation song. Joong Ki has unleashed his dorky side through this drama. I can clearly see it is all ad lib.

The best gif of all the entire series. Sorry i'm just so whipped.

True. It was in fact the best kind of confession. But the problem is, he did it out of necessity. Wil he do that if CY wasn't in danger? Will he admit his feelings at all? I don't think so. Bcs by now I seriously thought that leaving Korea is out of the picture for him. Why? He has a whole family in Geumga plaza. But no, he still insists that he's leaving. Tho he promised CY that he would return, I saw that promise as "yeah-i'll-visit-you-sometimes" not "i-will-try-to-come-back-for-good-and-stay-with-you". So if Hanseok hadn't kidnapped CY, V would be leaving Korea, and they would part with a handshake, still surpressing their feelings for each other.

So no, him kneeling in front of Hanseok isn't enough for me. Because he did it for Chayoung, not for himself. Everything he's done so far has been for CY or his mom. So now I want him to do something for himself. He should kiss her, hold her, be with her, bcs we all know he wants to. And he's holding back, because he still believes that he doesn't deserve to love.

So yeah, I won't be satisfied until he truly admits his feelings, because he deserves to love and be loved.

My main reasoning right now for wanting a worded confession is because if the series ends with the only confession being HSK telling CY that he loves her (mainly obsessed but still) I'll never get that awful sound out of my mind. I need it erased and the one way to do that is to hear V confess to CY.

I don't want a comedic parallel either. I want a serious parallel. He speaks his mind, she reveals she's awake and heard it all, then it opens up to a very real conversation that we have all been waiting for for the whole series.

This! Do I think his first action was not to attack JW first was stupid? Yes. But, do I think his firts instinct was to save his beloved first understandable? Yes. As you said the incident with his mom, and the whole bloody earings had him shook to the core, you could see his relief face when JW told him CY is (still) alive and well.

People forget, Vincenzo Cassano is a human with feelings and fear of losing his loved ones. That is what makes him different than that of a monster that JW is.

I think its about the amount of killing, threathening and crimes he did in Korea specially perhaps relating to their last plan that have not been revealed yet. CY said it herself it will be hard for him to comeback to Korea as VC after all this.

I think the series will end with VC faking his death and coming back as his Korean self. Crash. Forgot his name. Bad me. But yeah, I think VC will die. Then there will be a flash forward and he returns reborn so to speak.

Hope it happens with at least 10 minutes to spare because I really want a happy ending instead of an open ending.

Now, now. Give Hanseok a break. He pulled the trigger without aiming first. Besides, it looked like he was shocked to realize he had shot the "love" of his life. Pfft. His audacity is really something.

If the writer had given us more of his backstory with CY, I whould have believed him when he said he loved her. At least in his twisted way. But they didn't give us anything. Instead, they dropped it right after CY found out his real identity.

Their backstory would also add colors to Hanseok's character. Now he's just staight up villain. The obly thing keeping me from fully hating on him is his face. Heheh.

Agreed.  That wasn't at all believable because they never really developed it and dropped the Han Seok having feelings for CY about 10 episodes ago. I think they should have kept the love triangle route for his character and his twisted feelings for CY because at least it would have given Han Seok's character a bit more dimension than angry, violent psycho and spiced up the dynamic between him, CY and Vincenzo.

I agree with you and also with @Le_Amarant's reasoning about why Vincenzo made the decision he did. I think the problem was the way the scene was set up.  The blocking for the characters in the scene was kind of clumsy or they could have had CY be more tied up so it took Vincenzo longer to free her.  The way they were spread out, how easily he untied her and time elapsed it seems like it would have been totally feasible for Vincenzo to untie her, CY to get away or fully out of harm's way and Vincenzo to help out Han Seo.  Usually I would be annoyed about the female lead being used as the bait in the ending episodes but I think we were all expecting this scenario so I can accept it this once:lol:  I hope this doesn't mean CY is going to spend the whole of episode 20 sidelined and unconscious in a hospital bed<_<

I did love that other than that she wasn't the typical damsel in distress and unlike many dramas characters she was smart enough to realise that when a guy dressed in black with a mask and hat is heading towards you in a parking lot, you should be worried!

Myungee and Han Seok's relationship is so creepy.  I think they seem to have some kind of non-romantic Oediplal relationship going on.  She almost acts like his mother at times and I don't believe she would take the fall for anyone else.

And even the head monk isn't available.  I thought that part was funny too because he usually goes to the monk when he needs advice.  Maybe he was going to ask him for advice about a ~friend~ who likes a girl lmao!

I loved Cha Young sneaking away and hitting the Kingmaker!  Yassssss girl!:fiercebunny:

Good question about leaving.  Firstly, he has committed a lot of crimes and made a lot of enemies during his brief stay!  It would be safest for him to get away and lie low for a while. Also he had other plans and obligations before he got involved with Jipuragi that he needs to sort out.  It was never in his plans to stay in Korea long term.

This whole scene was so cute!  Poor jealous Vincenzo. I love that he was pretending to work and then asking her 20 questions before she goes:lol::lol::lol:

I just thought they looked so pretty in this scene:wub:

I am not complaining that he was weak. I just feel sorry for Hanseo because Vincenzo was going to leave him with his brother to kill him. I would feel betrayed if i tried to help someone and the person tried to leave me after that.

I actually like how they didn't focus on that because Hanseok is a psychopath.  I don't think that he ever liked her and also there no way for him to talk to her after she found out that he was babo.

Some already said it but this is the side effect of ambitious writing. It can be either a good thing or bad thing depends on how we want to see it. PJB tells backstory in small details or brief conversation in between other many eventful things happening in the drama. He has solid story for almost every character but limited time to explore them all and show them explicitly to the audience. That's why this issue keeps coming up, not only about JW's love towards CY, but also other relationship like Lee couple kid, VHS bromance, VC's past, and CY's past.

From the making, we know that there's deleted scene of CY-JW where they sit together and CY told him she was imprisoned for a while, and other scene (the same scene i guess, but appear in different making videos) where JW drinks intensely with anger on his face because CY ignore his concern over her. When CY-JW have their video call when she's at V's house, CY said "you call me less these days". I think those details just show how close they are when they work together. But the writer has more stories to tell and we're used to watching drama that explores those kinda thing more. Hence we find it hard to believe when suddenly JW said how he loves CY and used it as an excuse that he's also human with emotion.

Thaaat eyeees!! The way he look at her... I'm not the receiving end, but I got butterflies from that stares..

Awwww.. this little smile at the end.. they are so sweet to each other

https://twitter.com/jinyounglatte/status/1388691367614877696?s=19

SJK is apparantly the one who ask Na PD to come to the set, so the cast could all come together to have fun and play games together... waaaw he is such a nice guy!

He even arranged for the lesser known actors to be seated in the middle, while he sit on the side, cited that he will get a lot of exposure from the camera anyway.
