On a different subject - I wonder if the show is going to let Sobong get revenge by going after Mr. Han’s ancestors. That would be really interesting to watch since it would be a secret mission that no one would know about except for Sobong.

Another great episode. I loved Shin Hye Sun's reactions in the flower scene and the daytime fight... As the show moves into Act Two, she gets to show us her range of horrified attraction expressions... 

 

I suspect we will in some way resolve the Blue House plot as well as the Joseon one. We could have followed Bong Hwan back to the hospital and learned of his medical issue without meeting the cops or Mr. Han if that was all there was to it. Re-introducing them in the hospital and in Sobong’s bouncy revenge fantasy means they still matter. (Who knows... maybe Mr. Han is Jo Hwa Jin!)

 

I do think that Bong Hwan cannot win this Blue House battle before growing as Sobong. The question for me is whether this is the bittersweet end of the story or something to resolve before returning to the Joseon era and Cheol Jong. Realistically, it won’t probably be a very long subplot because Choi Jin Hyuk is too busy to stick around for multiple episodes.

I get why some of you perhaps unhappy with the last scene/preview because the king maybe did it while he was sober and the queen was drunk. However, I thought rather than he took advantage of the queen, I think both of them are sober and they actually did it. Or at least the king believed 100% the queen was conscious and they had a great time together. While the queen thought it was only a dream & her subconscious mind is Soyong, so it's very possible she gave him a permission 'in her dream' lol. I made a whole thread about it

I have watched go princess go so i am excited how the korean version would look like.. In c version, she will get pregnant n that make him feel being a mother..there are many conflict issues in c drama that i like to see how it would be played in korea version for example the concubine fake pregnancy, shes so high about it while the queen is the one who is pregnant for real but play it low. The king in c is more clear in term how he feels, we could clearly see that when he start having feeling for the queen he put distance with concubine. 

So here in korean version the king said clearly he did not love her as woman, he is just concern but we could sense there is stg there..even his brother the prince suspect his feeling for the queen, so i cant wait to see how he will admit his feeling...

 

Anyone can explain the secret between queen n concubine, i dont understand. The well part, what exactly happen?

I love it when the writer merge so yong memories with bong hwan. Coz now he get to feel like so yong, other words he is somehow so yong now.. So when he kissed her, and one thing lead to another i wont be surprise if they did it coz they subconsciously drawn to each other . Ogh i just want this to be real. But then, rational speaking the king is just using the queen for cover n he himself is not aware of his own feeling yet..n they are still in dress when they woke up. So maybe not. 

 

Cant wait...this torturing days...till next episode..time move so slow...god help me...

The producer actually mentioned in the press conference, they will adjust the sexual scenes (or 18+ scenes in Go Princess Go, I watched the original as well) so that it could fit with the audience from the age of 13 years old. Also, in many sageuk dramas, after a couple spent a night together,  mostly they woke up in dress since people in Joseon uphold politeness and modesty.

 

After the king covered himself when the guards came, there is still a long night to spend together tho. And he confessed to his brother that he has wavered by the queen. He also was running like a mad when the queen was in real danger (the lake incident, and the one in the royal kitchen). He maybe realizing it through his own action. If it isn't loving, I don't know what else.

 

Not to mention, in the c-drama...

Yups. When the king drunk, he bravely asked the cousin, if he had feeling towards the Queen. Hahahahahahaha, jealousy right?

But later when the Queen said not interested with them, he's so confident that Queen has fallen for him.

Oh yah, finally the king understand the meaning of "no touche", they talked about it in the queen's house, so he asked the queen if she really wanted to no touche rule, she should played with the king because the queen's father looked so happy with the king came to visit...

 

Once again, I also have the feeling, because the king had feeling that the queen has fallen to him, so if the queen later didn't push him when he kissed her, so that is it...

Yups the king still on denial stage. The king already had feeling towards the queen, and he started to realize that when he pushed the concubine, he looked so formal in front of the concubine.

 

Nah maybe if later the queen kissed him back, he maybe completely loss himself. Wkwkwkwkw....

 

Ahhh, hope, that's cruel. I'm scared that my hope could torture me whole weeks... And then completely hurt me so much when the king just lied to the queen again...

I'm still 50:50 whether they did it or not but it is common for majorities of Korean and Chinese historical dramas still wearing clothes for their bed scenes even they really did it.

Well, unless it is the erotic historical movies or something like that LOL

 

When he kissed her, he's wearing the outer dark blue clothes and in the morning he's wearing the inner light blue.

That is the usual way they hint the bed scene in the Korean/Chinese historical dramas LOL

Never knew she can play an antagonist well that many are hating her as the concubine.

Greetings, Mr. Queen nation! It's been awhile since I logged in to Soompi and discuss ongoing dramas. The last time was My Mister and even then I didn't livestream it like I do now with Mr. Queen. That's how good it this drama is!

 

After watching Ep8 again, I've had some thought

We haven't really got a full sequence of what actually happened between little Cheoljong, Soyong and Hwajin. But based on some snippets we got, we can say that the one who saved little Cheoljong was actually Soyong, not Hwajin. That's how he first fell for Soyong, right? Because she saved him.. Now, the King is falling for Sobong again, he's wavered and he really wants to understand her (him) more. Do you think he will fall in love again after the secret is revealed and he find out that the one who saved him is not Hwajin, but Soyong? lolll that means Cheoljong is gonna fall in love 3 times for the same person! I just thought it's funny and I really look forward to see him acknowledging his feelings! 

 

Has anyone listened to the OSTs? It's beautiful and really sets the mood for the drama especially our Royal Couple!

i just finished ep 8, and WHEW what a rollercoaster... the interludes of soyong's affection for the king made me cry (ESP THAT FLASHBACK OF THEIR FIRST MEETING AT THE PALACE - SO SOFT ;;;;A;;;;) then sobong returning to beat soyong up made me cry for a different reason LEL 

 

anyway i was wondering if anyone knows what sobong was looking for on the mattress when they woke up after drinking? like right before the king and the spy eunuch starting fighting outside their room?
