Lee Seung-Gi is cast for one of the 2 lead roles in tvN drama series “Mouse.”

Choi Jin-Hyuk has already received an offer for the other lead role and he is still considering the offer. The drama series is scripted by Choi Ran (“Black“) and asks the question if people are able to determine if a psychopath would be born through fetal gene testing, would someone still give birth to that person?

tvN’s upcoming drama “Mouse” (literal title) has officially announced its starring cast!

 

“Mouse” is a thrilling new mystery drama set in a world where humans can identify psychopaths through a DNA test on a fetus in a mother’s womb.

 

Lee Seung Gi was previously confirmed to be starring in the drama as Jung Ba Reum, an upstanding rookie police officer who believes passionately in justice and is almost unbelievably kind. However, his entire life will be turned upside down due to unexpected events during his hunt for the serial killer who has the entire nation trembling in fear.

 

In his first drama role in six years, Lee Hee Joon will be starring as Go Moo Chi, a hardened detective whose parents were murdered when he was still young. Determined to avenge his parents’ murder, Go Moo Chi couldn’t care less about the law or doing things by the book, and he is willing to resort to any means necessary to catch criminals.

 

Park Ju Hyun will be playing the role of Oh Bong Yi, a tough high school senior who lives alone with her grandmother and is skilled in martial arts. Whenever she runs into neighborhood cop Jung Ba Reum, the two end up amusingly bickering with one another.

 

Kyung Soo Jin will be appearing in the drama as Choi Hong Joo, a talented producing director (PD) who is known as “Sherlock Hong Joo.” She also harbors a secret that forced her to become entangled with a killer during her childhood.

Ahn Jae Wook will play the role of famous neurosurgeon Han Seo Joon, while Kim Jung Nan will play his wife Sung Ji Eun.

 

Block B’s P.O, who was previously confirmed to be appearing in the drama, will be playing a rookie detective who works under Go Moo Chi.

The drama’s producers commented, “‘Mouse,’ which is being chosen as one of the most-anticipated dramas of the first half of 2021, has confirmed its final lineup of leads and is taking its first step forward. Please look forward to ‘Mouse,’ which will open up new horizons for tvN dramas, and the acting of its cast.”

 

“Mouse” is currently slated to premiere sometime in the first half of 2021.

tvN’s upcoming mystery drama has released a photo from the cast’s first script reading!

 

“Mouse” (literal title) is a new mystery thriller set in a world where humans can identify psychopaths through a DNA test on a fetus in a mother’s womb. The drama centers around the question, “Would you give birth to a child knowing they were a psychopath?”

 

The released photos show off the cast’s chemistry and passion from their first script reading back in October 2020. Lee Seung Gi stars as Jung Ba Reum, an upstanding rookie police officer who passionately believes in justice. Lee Hee Joon plays Go Moo Chi, a hardened detective whose parents were murdered when he was young and is willing to resort to any means to avenge their deaths.

 

Park Ju Hyun will play troublesome high school student Oh Bong Yi who lives with her grandmother. Contrary to her small stature, Oh Bong Yi has a cool and tough personality and excels at all kinds of sports including martial arts and jiu-jitsu. Kyung Soo Jin plays producing director Choi Hong Joo who has numerous awards under her belt despite her young age. As a child, Choi Hong Joo was used as a pawn to catch a murderer and Kyung Soo Jin portrays her secretive character meticulously with utmost detail.

 

Ahn Jae Wook plays star neurosurgeon Han Seo Joon who is known for his genius skills, speech, and manners. His wife Sung Ji Eun will be portrayed by Kim Jung Nan who will emotionally connect with viewers and help them relate to the story. Block B’s P.O will play detective Shin who has just been named to the homicide team. Kim Kang Hoon, who plays Lee Seung Gi’s younger counterpart, is said to have greeted everyone brightly before completely transforming his gaze once the reading began. Even during a break, he did not leave his seat and continued to focus on the script, impressing staff and his fellow actors.

 

The producer commented, “The synergy between these actors as they acted through this turbulent plot was truly amazing. It was an environment of incredibly strong acting that even made the producers say, ‘I’m curious about the ‘Mouse’ we’ll see through the screen.’ The project has a unique tension that will make you breathe quietly and the characters and chemistry that will make your chest feel hot. ‘Mouse,’ which was exploding with energy starting from the script reading, will find its way to your homes this coming February. I just found out this talented young actor Seo Dong Hyun from that good drama "Beautiful World" is going to play the young character of Lee Hee Joon. He's17 yrs old.  It's always a treat to watch impressive young actors before we get to see them have their own lead roles in the future. (he's also  going to be "river where the moon rises")

 

I'm also going to check this because.. my fav genre.. mystery thriller I hope this is good.

Synopsis

Humans can identify psychopaths through a DNA test of the fetus from the mother’s womb. The drama centers around the question of, “Would you give birth to the child knowing they were a psychopath?” The drama will center around a justice-seeking rookie detective who faces a psychopath serial killer. His life changes completely after meeting the psychopath.

 

The Characters

Jung Ba-reum (Lee Seung-gi)

He is a rookie detective who lost all of his memory after an accident. When he wakes up from the accident, he gets a special ability who can see and read killers’ thoughts and ways.

 

Go Moo-chi (Lee Hee-jun)

He witnessed a serial killer murdering his parents when he was little. As a revenge he decides to go to the prison, where the killer is captivated, to murder the killer himself.
