Han Hyo Joo, Han Ji Min, and Han Ga In Leave Lee Byung Hun’s Agency

Actresses Han Hyo Joo, Han Ji Min, and Han Ga In will become free agents once their contracts with BH Entertainment ends in October.

BH Entertainment, which was formed by Lee Byung Hun, is currently negotiating with the three actresses to renew their contracts. However, due to the fact that agreements have not been made yet raises the probability that the actresses will find new agencies.

An industry insider stated, “It is likely for there to be contact with other agencies three months before a contract ends. All three actresses are leads in dramas and films and they consistently earn a lot from CFs, so there will be a lot of competition to sign with them.”

Therefore, the status of BH Entertainment will definitely be affected by the three actresses’ decisions. After staying with the agency for a long period, actor Go Soo is joining a new agency founded by his former manager. More loss of talent will surely change the future of BH Entertainment.

Another insider shared, “The achilles heel is the fact that all three actresses have not been able to make a hit project under this agency. The agency’s reputation has also been tarnished by a few recent incidents. It is unknown how much this will influence the actresses’ decisions.”

Han Ga In, Han Hyo Joo And Han Ji MIn May Leave Lee Byung Hun's Agency

Actresses Han Ga In, Han Hyo Joo and Han Ji Min are currently represented by Lee Byung Hun's agency BH Entertainment. Although negotiations are underway to renew their contracts, some industry insiders have speculated that the actresses will leave when their contracts end in October.

Anonymous industry insiders voiced their opinion on whether the actresses will renew their contracts in an article that appeared in the Korean media outlet Naver TV.

One anonymous industry insider was quoted as saying that the actresses may chose to go with another agency because they have not been able to make a hit drama since they signed with BH Entertainment.

Han Ga In signed with BH Entertainment in December of 2012 around the time she appeared in the hit drama "The Moon Embracing the Sun" and the popular film "Architecture 101." She has not appeared in a drama or film since then.

Han Hyo Joo joined BH Entertainment after she had problems with a former entertainment agency, Fantom Entertainment. She has not appeared in dramas since she signed with BH but the actress has had roles in a few films, including "C'est Si Bon" and "The Beauty Inside."

 

Han Ji Min left SM Entertainment's SM C&C agency in 2013 to join BH. Her only drama since then, "Hyde, Jekyll and I" did not do well in the ratings, but she did appear in a few films, including "Fatal Encounter" and "Salut D' Amour."

All three actresses do earn money from appearing in commercials. The agency would suffer if they decided to leave. Aside from revenue, an exodus of all three actresses would be bad for the agency's image.

Actor Go Soo already left the agency in June 2015 to join a new agency founded by his former manager at BH Entertainment.

The agency's image may have been negatively affected by the recent scandal in which founder Lee Byung Hun was blackmailed by singer Da Hee and model Lee Ji Yeon. The women tried to blackmail him with a video in which he engaged in a sexually suggestive conversation. The women were found guilty of blackmail but were ultimately sentenced to probation for two years.

The resulting scandal has not hurt Lee Byung Hun's acting career. He appears in two Hollywood films this year, "Terminator Genysis" and "Beyond Deceit."

Social commerce website 'We Make Price' (wemakeprice.com) has conducted a survey of 1000 of their male/female registered members, asking them “Who is the actor or actress that you'd most like to go on a vacation with?”.

 

The result revealed that actor Cha Tae Hyun received the most votes among male actors, coming on top of the survey at number 1. Kim Soo Hyun and Jo In Sung finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Among the actresses, Park Shin Hye received the most votes, followed by Kang So Ra and Son Ye Jin.

 

It's notable to mention that the male participants in their 20's had chosen actresses in the order of Park Shin Hye, Kang So Ra, Song Ji Hyo, Son Ye Jin, Han Hyo Joo, and Goo Hye Sun.

 

For male 30's the results showed Park Shin Hye, Kang So Ra, Son Ye Jin, Han Hyo Joo, Song Ji Hyo, and Goo Hye Sun.

 

For male 40's; Park Shin Hye, Kang So Ra, Han Hyo Joo, Shin Min Ah, Song Ji Hyo, and Goo Hye Sun.

 

Finally for male 50's Son Ye Jin, Park Shin Hye, Han Hyo Joo, Shin Min Ah, Kang So Ra, Song Ji Hyo, and Goo Hye Sun.

 

The predominant reasons for selecting Park Shin Hye and Kang So Ra included, “Very active” and “Cute”. Other reasons for selecting Park Shin Hye included, “She grills the meat well”, “She's a good cook”, and many other variations of compliment on her cooking skills.

 

The voters' reasons for selecting Cha Tae Hyun included, “Always bright”, “Because he'll make you laugh”, and many other compliments about his personality. For Kim Soo Hyun, “He's handsome”, “He's cool”, and many other compliments about his looks.

 

Jo In Sung came in 3rd thanks to a strong support from women in their 50's and as for Song Ji Hyo, she received strong support from the younger core, male in their 20's.
