[spot] Han Hyo-joo reveals a bit of her charm in ‘Cest Si Bon’

The premier of the movie ‘C’est Si Bon’ was held at Wangsimni CGV theater in Hang-dang dong, Seong-dong gu, Seoul on January 22nd. Actors and Actresses Kim Yoon-seok, Jung-woo, Kim Hee-ae, Han Hyo-joo, Jang Hyun-sung, Jin-gu, Jo Bok-rae, and Director Kim Hyun-suk took part in the conference.

‘C’est Si Bon’ is a movie based on the 60s in Korea, when folk music used to be in. It is a story of everybody’s muse and an unforgettable first love story, set in the music café ‘C’est Si Bon’.

Actress Han Hyo-joo was cast to play the role of Min Ja-young, a lady in 20s who is admired by all men nearby.

“Having experienced living a life of a time in which I haven’t lived was very meaningful.” She started talking.

“I believe I’m still young and in my youth, and that is why it was an honor to be a part of this wonderful movie in my prime youth. It was also great to feel the life of my parents.” She said.

About her role as ‘Min Ja-young’, she said, “Min Ja-young is not a very good woman, so I was concerned a lot on expressing this character, from a voice tone, gestures, to her inner self as well. I wish the audience find her attractive.”

“This movie means a lot me. Please send us full support and love.” She ended with a request.

The movie ‘C’est Si Bon’ will hit the theaters February 5th.

More info from Kobiz:

    C'est Si Bon (2014)
    < Sse-si-bong >
In the late 1960s, ‘C’est Si Bon’ is the music bar where every acoustic band’s dream lies, and Korea’s leading folksongs were born. It is where Geun-tae, the naïve country boy met the young musical prodigies Hyung-joo and Chang-sik, and formed the band named after it – the C’est Si Bon Trio. As the three young artists bicker over their music, beautiful socialite Ja-young enters the picture and becomes their muse, and a series of moving love songs come from it. Geun-tae’s pure-heartedness wins Ja-young over but when she accepts a once-in-lifetime opportunity for a shot at an acting career, they part ways. After 20 years, the untold story of their love, song, and youth at ‘C’est Si Bon’ is finally brought to light. close

Check the link for more... Anyway, running time is 123 minutes, rating is 15. You can also check the movie's box office status through the link, I think it will be updated regularly.

~did some checking, the reaction to the movie yesterday seems good, generally (relying on GT). Those who watched enjoyed the movie, the characters, the music. I also read that Hyo Joo is at her most beautiful here. Lol. Hoping that this movie is a gem, because I read somewhere that the director's strength is in making romcoms.

Comments from a film critic, Jason Bechervaise ‏@koreanjase (he reviews for Screendaily; check his review on Cold Eyes):
C'EST SI BON was better than expected, but it's a pity the last 30mins or so didn't quite work & feels like a different film altogether."
"Still, for the most part, it's witty, colorful, well-performed, and has a terrific soundtrack. Seems to be well-received too."

Yoo Yeon-seok to reunite with Han Hyo-joo in period moviesize>

By javabeans | dramabeans

Yoo Yeon-seok (Answer Me 1994, The Informant) is, happily and sadly, lining up another film as his next project — happily because it’s great his career is booming and keeping him fully booked, but sadly because I want my favorite actors to be in dramaland as much as possible. Films are great and all, but they just don’t bring you immediacy and intimacy with an actor the way that dramas do.

The project Yoo Yeon-seok is reportedly in the final negotiation phase for is Haeohwa (pronounced hey-uh-hwa), a period melo film that recently cast Han Hyo-joocolor> (Cold Eyes) to play a top gisaeng in a story of a woman’s “despair, sorrow, and pity.” It’ll be a Joseon-set piece, which means Yoo Yeon-seok gets to stay in the same era after having completed period movie Tailor, in which he played a king dressed in finery made by the nation’s most gifted designers. Haeohwa refers to a flower that speaks (I’m taking that to be a metaphor) and will showcase traditional dance, song, cuisine, and the arts — so expect a feast for the eyes, and probably ears, with the project going for a refined, sentimental approach.

New star Chun Woo-hee, who made a splash on the scene with last year’s lauded indie film Han Gong-ju, is also positively considering the movie. Her role would be as Han Hyo-joo’s fellow gisaeng and friend, though I expect that friendship to be tested by their relationship(s) to Yoo Yeon-seok’s character, a talented songwriter who loves them both. So we know where the melo line comes from.

If Yoo Yeon-seok ends up confirming, he’ll be reuniting with Han Hyo-joo pretty soon after their last project together, the body-swapping movie Beauty Inside, where he plays one of the bodies hosting the hero as he hops involuntarily from host to host. Haeohwa is currently wrapping up its casting stage and plans to begin filming in April.

Yoo Yeon Seok Confirmed to Star alongside Han Hyo Joo in Filmsize>

By ehk38 | soompi

han-hyo-joo-yoo-yun-suk.jpg

Yoo Yeon Seok has been confirmed to star alongside Han Hyo Joo and Chun Woo Hee in upcoming movie “Hae Uh Hwa” (working title).

“Hae Uh Hwa,” which means “talking flower,” follows the story of the top gisaengs during the Joseon Dynasty who excelled in song, scholarship, and culture. The film will be helmed by director Park Heung Shik whose previous works include “My Mother, the Mermaid” and “Memories of the Sword.”

Han Hyo Joo and Chun Woo Hee will play arch rivals battling it out for the position of top gisaeng. Yoo Yeon Seok will play a composer that both women admire and adore. Yoo Yeon Seok and Han Hyo Joo are reuniting for the first time since “Beauty Inside.”

After the production team wraps up casting, “Hae Uh Hwa” will launch into filming in April.
