songielove
I adore all that is Marcus and have a soft spot for Vivian; their reunion has been a longtime wait, so I'm super excited~~! Finally, the last days of counting down. Hopefully Viki picks it up. And if not, I'll still have to tune in regardless. This overall package is too fun and awesome to miss out on. Usi
I watched the Trailer today and I'm so in at the moment. Episodes go from 16 to 20, what means we have weeks full of heartbreak and going insane from cliffhangers. TW still airs only 1 epsiode per week. JenL
Really looking forward to the show coming out today! I like that one of the trailers makes spoofs of all these popular dramas such as Descendants of the Sun and Goblin. songielove
@JenL Thank you so much for keeping up with this drama! There are so few English sources. I'm already committed to bothering [and have given prior notice to] my friends for translations, and of course, have been using my common sense to decipher auto translations. I unintentionally ended up tuning into the press day events. They had a full day schedule! And it made me all the more excited. The trio is adorable. And honestly, I'm so happy to have Marcus back on screen WITH a song written for the drama. I do enjoy their banter and that story is so cute. I'll agree with Vivian about his body-- I like his response so much! He was really dedicated to his health "for her"... and I'm going to equate that to "all the fangirls" (because her character is, essentially, a fangirl). I'm ready~ about 12 more hours to the premiere! *on repeat* ; Available here Cr. Dramasettv
JenL
@songielove Have you seen the first episode yet? I found it enjoyable, but yet to see if I really like it. I'm loving the dark and conflicted CEO family and I think the sister, He Ming Li is a really great opposing character. Marcus' acting is so on point. Oddly enough, I'm finding Vivian to be a bit over dramatic? I normally really like her. Can't tell if it's just her fluffy character, but sometimes I feel like her delivery of an action is off or she's a bit too much like a comic book character, like pointing her fingers into the air and looking into the distance. I also wish they'd styled her a little differently - like her hat adds to the overly dramatic look. (But I think her clothes look better in the next episode.) Don't want to go into spoiler just yet so I'll be vague, I'm a little confused at her delayed reaction to what she witnesses?? Someone on Viki said that if she uploaded her drone video on the internet, she'd solve her problem! (But then maybe the drama would end too quickly!) songielove
@JenL Sorry I missed your comment. Yes, I really enjoyed Ep1! I agree, Marcus is on-point breathtaking. I personally think he succeeds most in his melodrama, or serious roles... making use of all his facial muscles. I think Xiao En is written to be really animated, mirroring the exaggeration in the fairytale novels that drive her life. She does seem to be conscious of that influence on her. I tend to expect some form of that animated element in Taiwanese dramas, so Vivian's acting didn't bother me so much. If anything, I do think her character is less believable, especially after witnessing something of that magnitude. However, something about her is charming and really likeable, and I'm not sure if it's just my liking for Vivian in general. Ming Li is pure evil! I found her hatred to be a bit exaggerated, but all in line with who she is as far as we know. It makes sense that she was shocked with no remorse, but I found the post-reaction of little brother Tian Jian a bit lacking. He wasn't outraged enough in my opinion, and I'm not sure if that's alluding to what happened before we see Tian Xing... you know... That imporant scene was unexpected to me and therefore, I thought Xiao En being there was awesome! I understand her reasoning, but can't fully accept the logic in the end. Could remain a major dent in the plot, but I'm also keeping conscious that the event is trauma for her. I'll be sticking around to the end because I'm loving it altogether, actors and characters. I'm interested in knowing how Tian Xing and Xiao En's connection will unfold and manifest in both real and novel worlds. I'm intrigued by both characters in the real world. Ep2 was full of fun and silliness! Xiao En's wardrobe is more tasteful in the novel world, haha. CEO Si Tu Ao Ran's cheetah print is so obviously making a statement for his entry. I also don't want to go into spoiler mode, but there were many laughs that I thought was especially entertaining for the fans who know all the tropes in a romance. Xiao En knowing them too is hilarious. Ep2 was like starting a new drama within a drama, so I'm looking forward to the real action and story moving forward next week. I hope more fans will join in soon!

The first episode was a bit slow but they had to etablish the characters. I really liked that the "RL" characters seem to be 3-dimensional since they weren't explained much. The heroine will surely come back to her real life for sure and has to make the hero fall for her again. That is a cool premise for me. I'm now waiting for the subs for EP2. I never will learn to wait for at least the series half aired before starting since TW is only 1 episode per week. At least it is nice to have someone who watches too. If anything, I do think her character is less believable, especially after witnessing something of that magnitude. However, something about her is charming and really likeable @songielove So I finally got around to watching episode 2 and I've enjoying it better! I've watched a lot of Taiwanese dramas (even before I started Korean dramas), so I'm use to the weird comical element. But I figured out what I didn't like at first - it was the comical elements along with the fact Vivian's character seemed kind of too simple? I think the story telling was also a bit strange - like in ep. 1 with the falling sequence and even in ep. 2 with the dream...it's very choppy story-telling and the scenes are so very overly dramatic, but not very necessarily?! BUT with that said, the story is getting much more fun now that they've entered the story world! I laugh every time she says the title of the story, 'CEO, you're so naughty.' I'm suddenly liking Vivian's character a lot more because she's actually smarter and more funny now because she's an expert in romance stories so she's more confident and rather than constantly questioning her own actions. She's actively turning things around and working things out, so the story is moving along better. Xiao En has also got a good heart - not wanting to be the bully and all. I love the play on the stereotypes with Marcus' overbearing CEO and the annoying damsel in distress. I'm also crushing on that second lead, Simon Lian. He has such a pretty look. Also interested in the contrast between the 2 worlds and how that's going to tie up with the step brother trying to hold back the evil step-sister! @Usi Welcome! Feel free to discuss as I'm sure we'll be here for the ride

songielove
Welcome, @Usi! I'm sure the drama will pick up more viewers as the weeks come. It tends to be the case for TW dramas, since many fans don't like the wait. I've always preferred the one-episode-per-week schedule, though, as it gives us time to process and appreciate. Could also be why it seems Ep1 was slow. Nevertheless, glad you're here! @JenL I have to agree that it's a bit choppy. I actually really liked the falling sequence and how Xiao En is out of the picture for all of it. It makes the shock of her being the witness that much more impactful. But it leaves a lot of questions. I actually had doubt in Tian Jian, until I watched Ep2 again. And definitely, I still cannot wrap my head around how Xiao En crossed over into the novel. If it wasn't for Marcus and Vivian, I would usually pass on a drama like Lost Romance because I usually have trouble believing in the logics set up in fantasies (I know how contradicting that sounds). It either has to be full-out fantasy world or real world. And Lost Romance is both. However, there is some logic here as Xiao En begins to work the formula and defy her fate. I totally love her constant fighting with herself in Ep2 and the moment it finally clicks for her that she's not just merely a bystander nor side character, but the source of evil in this story! Soo funny. I like the contrasting characteristics in both worlds. For Xiao En, it's a total character boost. Although her real life was plain, she was caring. On her first day in the novel, she looked at the perfect damsel from afar and did nothing to help her. Si Tu Ao Ran's CEO aura was so domineering (the point!), it also made me kinda miss the solemn He Tian Xing, haha! I also like the seemingly parallel worlds in which, if one body is experiencing a significant amount of stress, the other will experience a degree of it too. I'm curious how this will play on out. I also have been a fan of TW dramas before Kdramas and I still find myself turning to it. There is always this light charm that I find comforting. Thanks so much for the interviews! I have been following the promotional work and loving the vibe of Team Romance (as Marcus names them). First thing I noticed about Simon was how eccentric and openly affectionate he is, according to the opening ceremony and him taking Marcus to dinner for his birthday. This is one CP gaining the win haha. I hope you'll have time and energy for part 2 some time in the future. They're all really fun together. Also, if you haven't already, check out the behind-the-scenes that air after each episode for more insider fun. Today/tomorrow is Ep3, yay! JenL
Hahaha, I should really check my spelling, grammar and sentence structures before I post translations - I've fixed up stuff which doesn't make sense now so hopefully it reads smoother! @songielove Haha, I totally know what you mean! Yeah, if it wasn't for Vivian and Marcus, I think I would have passed up on this drama too (But I'm totally sticking it out since it's getting better and I'm having a new found Simon crush. haha!). I think the story itself is interesting and has lots of potential and I like the world building - I just think they just haven't executed it well in terms of getting from one scene to the next. I don't mind it being set in both the fantasy and real world - it's kind of cool! But what you said about fantasy logic is true - as viewers, even when you watch a fantasy film, you need there to be enough logic for you to suspend your disbelief and accept what's happening. The film doesn't have to be realistic, but it needs to be logical in that it makes sense when you follow the story. And the way she entered the story world didn't exactly make too much sense! There's no explanation?! She gets really sick suddenly from a nightmare and then she's there - it felt like it was missing something. Like if it had been the book she was reading before she suddenly got sick, that would make more sense because she was already thinking about the world. Or if there was some magic involved, like she met someone at the hospital who gave her something to 'help her forget about what she saw.,' that would make more sense. It just needs something to fill in the gap! But yeah, there's lots of fun and interesting things that's happening with the drama, so looking forward to the next episode (hopefully it'll be less choppy!) Like you, I also like the different personalities Marcus has in fantasy world vs. real world and totally agree, it's very fun for the characters to be tied to the physical world (Well at least for Xiao En!) And the intensity of the story in the real world is interesting too - like how is the brother going to stop his maniac sister? Also, I'm finding it interesting that Tian Xing had a date set up in the real world with the receptionist before he fell!! I wonder how they're going to get out of that story line and how he'll find Xiao En in real life since they never even met consciously. (I suppose she'll just go and find him!). Also wondering if that receptionist turns into the evil second lead since her place will get taken over by Xiao En!! And lastly, Simonnnnn, he's so pretty and charming. For such a cool looking guy, his instagram has so many cute photos of him playing with his niece and nephew Thanks for letting me know about the behind the scenes - I normally love watching them, but haven't gotten around to them just yet for this show. Usi
After 3 episodes I have the feeling that heroine and hero both are stuck in the same dream. But other than our heroine the hero doesn't seem to be self aware. He knows Chuchu in RL and liked her enough to try dating her and so she is the FL. And how the heroine is playing with the entire set-up reminds me to the 500kingdoms series I read ages ago. I'm curious when the story starts to turn because of her. The moment the hero starts to like her and gets annoyed by ChuChu's damsel in distress trope our heroine will turn into the FL. I'm curious about evil female CEO. Why is she so angry? And I don't think Bro is so harmless like he seems to be. He knows too much. At least he knows pretty well what goes on.
r o s i e
@Usi Your speculations about them both being in the same dream is interesting. I definitely didn't even think of the fact that Tian Xing is probably in the same dream as Xiao En. I also can't wait to see how Xiao En will continue to change the story world that she is in. Regarding the evil female CEO, she is Tian Xing's half-sister. They share the same father and different mothers. My guess is that Tian Xing's mother was the mistress and both Ming Li (evil female CEO) and her mother hate Tian Xing because of that and because he's actually smart and worked his way up in the company. Plus it seems like Tian Xing is their father's favorite and she wants to be the sole inheritor (ofc ). I'm on the fence about the Bro as well. I'm still not sure whether the uncle is a good guy or not. I also wish that second ML, Qing Feng, finds some way to exist in the real world because he only exists in the story world right now. I'm loving the chemistry between ML and FL but Ao Ran and Qing Feng's bromance is too cute to exist only in the story world.

But other than our heroine the hero doesn't seem to be self aware. I love this theory because it was kind of hinted in Ep2. I'll have to watch it again to make sure, but Tian Xing's monitor started beeping when Situ Aoran met Chuchu, or at least in one of their interactions. Definitely, in that moment, I thought their correlating heartrates hinted at them being the same person. But because Tian Xing is suffering from head injury, he's not at all conscious. I think it would also lend itself to their relationship in reality, when they both do actually wake up. It would be quite frustrating to have Xiao En try to establish a relationship (again). I have to watch Ep3 again as I've not watched it since Sunday. Makes me excited since you point this out. @sharonrli About Tian Jian, I keep going back and forth. He was suspicious in Ep1, then he stood up to big sis in Ep2... but I feel like he's not proactive enough. Definitely more to the story. I do think he genuinely cares for Tian Xing though, but enough to sacrifice himself and Mingli?? Not yet.~ I agreeee. The bromance is adorable, can't only be reserved for dreams! @JenL I'm hoping this disconnect (how Xiao En enters CEO, You're So Naughty!) will be addressed later on. I like your suggestions. Any one of them would work!
