I actually don't mind Seojin character in ep 8 because he's consistent. He never believed Aeri from the moment she met him at his office. It wouldn't make sense if he suddenly believes her especially

Awwww @lebeaucouple thanks my friend for remembering me! I know we meet so many in other forums. Glad to see your posts and activity! YEAH it has been a bit of time! LOVE LOVE your ideas and theories

I am so so agree with this. I was thinking the same after watch ep 4 when Aeri met Dokyun. I'm not sure about him being the culprit but so far Aeri has only told Dokyun and Seojin himself about Dabin

MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Kairos” released new stills of Shin Sung Rok and Go Kyu Pil!

“Kairos” is a “time-crossing fantasy thriller” about the interconnected fates of Kim Seo Jin (Shin Sung Rok), a man who falls into despair after his daughter is kidnapped, and Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young), a woman who is searching for her missing mother. From Kim Seo Jin’s perspective, Han Ae Ri is living exactly one month in the past – but after the two miraculously communicate from their different times, they set out on a thrilling quest to save their missing loved ones.

Spoilers

Previously, Kim Jin Ho (played by Go Kyu Pil) confessed that he kidnapped Kim Seo Jin’s daughter Kim Da Bin (played by Shim Hye Yeon) daughter. The motive for the crime was the death of his child due to the illegal use of materials by Yoojung Construction. When Han Ae Ri visited Kim Jin Ho’s house in the past, she witnessed Kim Seo Jin’s secretary Lee Taek Gyu (played by Jo Dong In) there, which hints that he may be an accomplice in the kidnapping.

In the newly released stills, Kim Seo Jin visits Kim Jin Ho in prison. The two face each other with rising tension, and viewers are curious about their conversation. Kim Seo Jin questions Kim Jin Ho with a determined face, while Kim Jin Ho stares at him with confusion, doubt, and fear. Will Kim Seo Jin be able to find another clue about the real culprit behind his daughter’s kidnapping case?

MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Kairos” has revealed new stills of Ahn Bo Hyun and Nam Gyu Ri!

The “time-crossing fantasy thriller” is about the interconnected fates of Kim Seo Jin (Shin Sung Rok), a man who falls into despair after his daughter is kidnapped, and Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young), a woman who is searching for her missing mother. From Kim Seo Jin’s perspective, Han Ae Ri is living exactly one month in the past – but after the two miraculously communicate from their different times, they set out on a thrilling quest to save their missing loved ones.

Ahn Bo Hyun plays Kim Seo Jin’s right-hand man Seo Do Kyun, while Nam Gyu Ri stars as Kim Seo Jin’s wife Kang Hyun Chae.

Spoilers

Previously on “Kairos,” it was revealed that Seo Do Kyun and Kang Hyun Chae, the two people Kim Seo Jin trusted in the most, were having an affair behind his back.

Today’s episode will depict the first meeting of Seo Do Kyun and Kang Hyun Chae. The two characters crossed paths by coincidence, but they soon became deeply absorbed in each other. This raises questions as to why Kang Hyun Chae chose to marry Kim Seo Jin instead of Seo Do Kyun.

In the new stills, Seo Do Kyun and Kang Hyun Chae meet in an ambivalent atmosphere. Kang Hyun Chae smiles brightly up at Seo Do Kyun, but he looks anxious as he stands before her, leading viewers to wonder about the complex details of their relationship.

I get that the wife is a really manipulative person and that she has spec boy all wrapped around her pinky.  But really, why the kidnap and death plot.  Does she want to live as a dead person in society?  This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

I like that right after main guy gets out, he immediately called and asked about the murder just to make sure main gal was okay.  (I think.  I'm guessing.)  He will soon realize she's the only ally he has since all the people around him are out to stab him in the back.  But why?

What an episode, episode 5 was. Wow, I am totally loving how the story is moving forward, the pace is really good. Much better than I expected it to be paced, and the timing of revealing things and the cliffhanger. Dramas like this, really make me wonder "I should have left it for binge-watching", but then again, I'd have to wait that long, and also miss out the discussions on it here. But this is really the type of drama I would love to binge-watch. If it really continues like this and does have a satisfying ending, I might binge watch it later on.

Anyway back to the episode. So the affair between Hyun Chae and Do Kyun is not really a simple one. It cannot be simply connected to her married life being in a slump, which could have led to the affair. So as the episode showed, they go way back to 2008, which is 12 years ago. We still don't know much about her Hyun Chae's life. She did play piano in pub, but the address she said her home was in was actually a posh area. Of course it is not confirmed whether she was serious about it or not, but it could be she is really from a rich family, but playing in pub could also mean she had problems with her family and wanted to be independent (if she is from rich family). So as I said, since they go way back, I want to see whether she married Seo Jin because she wanted to, or was it her family who set her up with him.

Forgetting about them for sometime, the only person who is genuinely worried about Seo Jin and wants to help him is actually Ae Ri, who has not really met the Seo Jin she is speaking to and vice versa. And this actually shows how alone Seo Jin really is in his life. By the looks of it, he sure was a strict boss, but a good one. He was an honest employee in the company too. But no one around him is trustworthy, no one from Do Kyun to Hyun Chae is really loyal to him here.

I also loved that they sort of gave the answer to my last question in my previous posts. That is Ae Ri really got murdered in Do Kyun's apartment, then why is he not arrested, turns out it is the driver's apartment (or so it seems, maybe someone could clarify whether I missed something or not). I still think Do Kyun;s agenda being after Seo Jin is sort of weak, even if he is involved in the sub-par materials being used. we'll get more answers behind his reason and also the driver, who seems to be working for him.

Kudos to all those who just like me had predicted that Hyun Chae and Da Bin are still alive. Got to admit I didn't really expect to see them like this, but well by the looks of it, everything was staged since the beginning. And it actually makes me feel more sorry for Seo Jin. Was Hyun Chae's plan with the staged suicide, to make Seo Jin also take his life? Of course her primary objective was to disappear, but was the secondary one Seo Jin being dead? I wouldn't be surprised if it is also the case. I don't know about others, but I kind of have some serious doubts on who really is Da Bin's dad here. Is Kim Seo Jin or is the Hyun Chae's lover Do Kyun? I personally feel like the drama Gods will not be that harsh but you never know. Although it does not really take away the fact that whoever the dad is, Seo Jin is her dad.

Now I don't really know what both Do Kyun and Hyun Chae are trying to pull here. Is it really just because she wanted to leave him? She could easily do it. Well it would not be that easy to go through divorce and get the custody of kid, but well pulling off a stunt like that means there is more to it. Seeing her reaction with the overall Da Bin's kidnapping, I do think she didn't know about it or maybe she is just good at acting, I'd go with the former one right now. I think Do Kyun told her about the overall plan in the hospital. We'll see whether she was took part in planning things or not.

And was that Ae Ri's mom hanging? So his driver killed her and now looking at the preview, Seo Jin is the suspect now. Talking about the chairman dude, I don't really trust this guy. By the looks of it he does look to be worried about Seo Jin, but then again I think all the incidents regarding Yujung Constructions, will lead back to him. Looking forward to the next episode.

So wife is from a rich family it seems and she's manipulating these men for fun?  Her beef with her husband must be him ignoring her instead of kissing the ground she walks on or something.

Ae Ri's father was the man who saved Seo Jin?  How the building kind of cracked so rapidly and came down like it was imploding was so cartoonish.  But anyways, the plot seems to be very predictable but it makes little sense at this point.  But I shall hang on for my ship.

I must say as of watching rn: hyunchae is a coward.
Why go someone go so far to emotionally traumatize the guy when you could've just straight up talked about it like people and demand a divorce. I get that seojin wasn't a good husband and she felt suffocated in the marriage, but at least the guy was faithful. Wowr... All that meticulous planning to fake her death and dalbin's just so she can leave.

Maybe she's got her reasons for staying like:the old seojin would've threatened her livelihood/wanting to keep her marital benefits/or smth, but if she's not happy then she should've said something. Even a custody battle would be easier than this.

In the earlier episodes, I never suspected she would be in the same category as those Yujung co. kidnapping gang. I was like why would aeri die at the apartment when dokyun's in there with hyunchae? Now I get it. Cursing myself for being a simpleton and falling for hyunchae's innocence because i'm still living on 49 Days.

I don't get what she and the glasses secretary gain from this - they would've been better off murdering seojin because that would've saved them plenty time. It's like they've got really extreme psychopathic tendencies being entertained by watching people slowly deprive themselves of life.

Wild theory time! Ahaha :2540_meh:

I think Hyunchae purposely approached Seojin, married him, laid out her cobweb and waited for the right time....I think the main target is the chairman and the company. But before reaching the highest level, they eliminate his most trustworthy person. Thinking about it...she could go off the radar without faking her death, she could ask for a divorce....but she can't have Dabin to herself. Seojin will surely fight for custody or at least visiting rights. If she ran away with Dabin...surely Seojin will work hard to find them like what he is trying to do now.

And....I think they (mostly Hyunchae) enjoys this psycho game. Dogyun is just her pawn...poor guy...she probably planted him in the company too :sweatingbullets:. Now I get what Namgyuri meant during the twitter blueroom...but the others said that's a spoiler hahahaha

Anyways....I agree that this would be a good drama to bingewatch...the wait is making me anxious :cries3:

Love there are more people. Thanks friends for your posts/comments/theories.

Great seeing @Sleepy Owl here good post as always.

@tofumochu I think I agree I did not realize the wife would go that far to escape/leave the hubby. I knew there was something suspicious but not that far. Interesting with the back story of the Secretary and wife being together having a history. Hmm.

The connection of Ae Ri dad and Seojin at the construction site.

I figured Ae Ri's mom passes away but NOT that way. i hope Seojin can change it for her?

Seojin realizing those around him are lying and him thinking he can get his happy family back (it had cracks already) is not going to happen. Feel bad for him.

Such a packed ep 5 and so much reveals. Wow love this drama and how the layers are unraveled to us the viewer. Def good drama balancing my M-T programming schedule.

So its Kim Seo Jin against a gang of vicious people hell bent on destroying him. His wife is smth else.. I cannot believe she played with her daughter's life even if the kidnapping was a scam. I wonder what's her agenda as she mentions she wants to leave the country. If she loved the specs guy for so long why did she marry seo jin? The betrayal and trust she broke..Their marriage wasn't even real. What a mess!!

I kinda noticed a flaw.. not sure..but why wasn't the driver guy not captured in cctv at the hospital? He was shown talking to Aeri's mom.Aeri had earlier checked the cctv logs.. so why didn't it come up?

I love how this drama keeps us guessing. Btw cool theories frnds <3

@Nodame It's always great to see your posts here too.

Although I do agree that wife went to the extreme extent to get away from Seo Jin, I don't think that she knew about the kidnapping part. How she reacted was so natural and as I said, I think Do Kyun told her about it either in the hospital or when she was about to jump from bridge. But if she did plan it all with him from start, she sure is one of a kind. But I am sure about one thing, and that is that there is more to it than we can see right now. Doing it all just to run away from him is a bit foolish, as someone pointed out, they could very well get rid of Seo Jin. Still, I think they have a bigger plan here.

@Ashbelle as she claimed in the start too, she could be from a rich family here, and they could have arranged the marriage with Seo Jin here. Another scenario is also there, but it is kind of less likely, at least for me and it is that she married Seo Jin out of love, and then Do Kyun re-appeared as his secretary, and the affair started. But I think her marriage was arranged with Seo Jin and she was with Do Kyun from the start.

The thing that is interesting here is that by the looks of preview Seo Jin will not tell Ae Ri about her mom's death, at least not for the time being. And it is quite similar to Ae Ri not telling him about his wife's affair with Do Kyun. Both know that they will be hurt by it, and I think Seo Jin here wants to investigate more about it before telling the devastating news to Ae Ri. He needs to finds things out about it to prevent it.

So far it seems like Do Kyun is behind it all, but as @katakwasabi said, the main brain behind him could be Hyun Chae here. Let us see how much more involved she will be in the story. Also let us see what their actual motive is. They killed Ae Ri's mom, who sort of looked to be investigating the Yujung Construction case, or must have looked into it, since her husband had died in it. They used Kim Jin Ho to take revenge for his dead daughter, but he didn't do it. Also seems like he does know something, and well as we saw he was approached by the driver about 1 month ago here.

I don't know why, but I see a major death flag here over Gun Wook (Ae Ri's friend who scammed her). HE is getting involved in this, and was taking the photos of Seo Jin's driver, which already was a dangerous task. But we'll have to see how much more he will get involved in this mess.

So far we've got a group who was responsible for the disaster by Yujung Construction in multiple occasions. We know about two. The first in which Ae Ri's dad and Seo Jin were under debris (about which Seo Jin still has got PTSD), and the second one involving Jin Ho's dad. The old Chairman dude could be directly involved in it here.

We've got the second group in Do Kyun, Hyun Chae and the driver dude, and I am yet to know what they are upto. Do they want revenge from Yujung Construction? I think not, since it seems like Do Kyun knew about the bad material being used and the driver dude killed Ae Ri's mom. He also went after Ae Ri as soon as she tried meeting Jin Ho. So I don't think they have something against Yujung Construction here, this group has got its own agenda.

And finally we have Seo Jin and Ae Ri. Didn't meet yet, but they've got a lot trust in each other, and well, I'd say Ae Ri is the only one on Seo Jin's side right now.

It will also be interesting if the first two groups are in it together. The Hyun Chae left without any money, and Do Kyun is a mere secretary here. But seeing her live a luxurious life and he supporting her, means they've got a solid financial support from somewhere. And who here is better than old chairman here. Let's see how this three groups will connect, especially the first 2.

So, I watched all 5 episodes and I'm unsure how to feel about this drama. It's well-made and the plot is engaging, even though I thought the part with Seo Jin's wife Hyun Chae was rather predictable since we didn't see her jump and her body wasn't found.

I got more issues with the timetravel plot or at least the idea of changing the past. It rarely works out that way without causing other conflicts and problems. For example when Seo Jin visited imprisoned Ae Ri, only just then he actually found out when Ae Ri murdered Geon Wook and was able to tell past Ae Ri about it. BUT if it never happens then how can he still retain this information? Same goes for the first time Ae Ri gets murdered. Without it happening, Seo Jin has no way of knowing it happened to warn Ae Ri. The drama "Signal" made it pretty clear things can't be changed or the outcome is the same. And even the drama "Life on Mars" was coming to that conclusion in a way.

So it's definitely a potentially messy plot which I hope won't happen.

I'm also not sure really if this drama needs 16 episodes to tell its story. So far it seems to go back and forth with the same plot/events and if it was a Netflix series with 10 episodes I think that would be enough. But let's see what's going to happen.

I'm unsure whether this was a masterplan by Hyun Chae. But she seems to be the one to emotionally manipulate people around her. The cheesy line in the end of episode 5 what Do Gyun's plan is and the smile suggests she knew very well what's been going on with the kidnapping and such. We have no indication, yet, she didn't unless we will get a flashback about her scolding Do Gyun for going so far.

If it was her plan though, or his for that matter, how dumb is it? Is she planning to get rid of Seo Jin? And if so what would it help her when everyone thinks she is dead? Will she appear like a ghost and claim money? I really don't understand yet what she is up to.

I'm also a bit unhappy that Seo Jin's assistents are all enemies to him. I can buy the drama antagonizing Do Gyun but it would've been nice to have at least one person on Seo Jin's side, meaning Taek Gyu. The fact he is also somewhat working against Seo Jin bothers me a lot. At least Ae Ri got Soo Jung... and she easily forgave Geon Wook.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to episode 6. :D
