I think maybe sometimes but certainly not for every drama which is why knetz usually do a survey to see how high the demand is. Then when the demand is high they do a pre-order and only when the number of actual pre-orders are high enough (also to cover the costs of producing the Director's Cut including extras) the DVD/Bluray gets produced. That's how it works these days. I might ask them whether they would be willing to create a survey form which can be accessed without having any account. But I can't make promises. @Jillia before K dramas usually have DVD releases ..cant remember if I went through surveys.I just bought Original Special Edition Directors cut of K dramas that I really love like The Moon that embraces the sun( the price is a bit hefty though) and I have other collection of DVDs too of several dramas that I like. @Jillia Spoiler I still havent been able to get the survey done Im still lost. @vangsweetie637 I agree both parents of otp are parallels! SA and JY lived differently.JY has to work early by joining competitions here and there to financiallly to support his parents. He has not enjoyed his childhood / teen years..all his life he has been working night and day.He does resent his parents but it doesnt mean he love them less.why would he worked so hard for them and make through ends meet if his heart is full of resentment.Meantime SA lived a much comfy life with his family She was a business degree graduate and later decided to pursue a degree in music although both parents have different views on her taking up misic.I really like her Appa! Who loves and supports her uncinditionally. My choices in the poll 1JK-Shes annoying because shes super brat and full of herself! 2 Truthful Conversation-Both OTP as needs to warm up with each other..speak freely of whats on their mind ..specially JY who had been keeping things all by himself specially problems...SA needs to be thruthful of her fear and doubts about what JY feels about her.and vice versa JY needs to be truthful of his feelings to SA and assure her it is her he trult love and that he has moved over from JK 3.Confession Kiss-this I truly love..very gentle very subtle..♥️ 6 1
Abirami Ramakrishnan
For my poll choices I picked 1. SJ - he seems to be a character with no empathy who treats JY like a cash cow . Professor Lee is second only because seemed to be a teacher who had her students best interests in mind till Professor Song egged her on.. 2.I picked a fight scene because I just want to see an angry JY .. we've seen how suave a jealous JY can be.. if he gets angry we may just explode from the hotness 3. I chose the ice Cream melt kiss because it's just so sweet .. I love the lead up to it .. JY admitting he used icecream as an excuse to ask her out, SA just going for it and kissing him and his reaction afterwards make the kiss itself really really sweet 3 1

Song Ah: "Yes." Joon Young: "I have been waiting for your taxi." And now neither of them bought a ticket back to Seoul. @Jillia hahaha! Its kinda intentional kind of thing...not buying tickets back to Seoul both are tired of seeing not so nice peeps! and make babies! Oops! Parental guidance is advice! SideNote: Anyone herre kind enough to explain where JY narrating about JK's mom death was her tragedy while it becames his fortune? THANKS!♥️ Im on repeat mode of previous episodes...while waiting for new eps next week. 2 1 1
cherrhys88
@annamchoi From how I understand it, it's because the scholarship or foundation was established because of JK's mom. It was the way the grandmother wanted to honor her. So without the foundation's support JY wouldn't be able to continue his education because of his financial situation. That's also the reason why he said the piano felt heavy for him. It's like he is no longer playing out of love for the music but out of obligation already. 7

It's a burden for him and I feel like this is part of the reason why he doesn't love playing the piano anymore. Also shown how much Kyunghoo Foundation is a burden when Joon Young angrily shuts the curtains since he does have a direct view at the building. its a very tiring and redundant for JY doing things you love most because its an obligation.not because you love it @Jillia I think meeting SA was meant to be... she is his comfort zone and refuge 5 3

cherrhys88
I think he does love it but because of the feeling of obligation, to his family and the foundation, it has become a burden. It's a bit similar to what SA told the mom of the violinist back at the foundation, something along the lines of if there's too much pressure she will come to resent her talent. I do agree that SA is good for JY in that sense, because he can see her passion for the music/violin. I also think this is the reason why he was already drawn to her since that first encounter where SA was timid and yet defiant in asking the conductor to let her stay and play. 5 3
cherrhys88
@Jillia That's why they really need that deep conversation. Because they both are coming from different mindsets. Plus she doesn't really know JY's entire situation, except for what he mentioned about the foundation and the feeling of indebtedness or guilt about JK's mom's death. 9
annamchoi
@Jillia @cherrhys88 one time big time heartfelt conversation between JY and SA..let it all out in the air everything and anything.Ms Cha said try to lean and be comfort to eachother.not only the good side but even the flaws of one another.if only JY should learn to open and trust more share his pain and joys with SA their relationship will work out mighty fine. I will quote Ms Cha again, SA is a nice girl Im glad its her and she is different. 4 4
Dana T
It will be interesting to see if he really takes her away on a trip he's more reserved than her it seems. If they do it will be sweet no doubt with some awkwardness thrown in. People had commented previously on their awkwardness with each other how it seemed unnatural. I feel the opposite. That's how it is realistically with someone in the early stages...that you actually really like and are attracted to and want to empress. You are nervous and excited. If it doesn't stir those feelings early on something is missing 10

loveiskim
Finally a drama which makes me want to visit soompi forum again ~~~ the heart flutters is reall while watching our main OTP i really love JY character. He doesn’t make me confused about his feeling at all, it’s even so clear for me since the earlier eps that he did care and interested of SA, so i feel kinda bad that SA keep on getting anxious. But i won’t blamed her for that, she has her reason, and it’s nice to see her always trying to tell JY when she feels uncomfortable about something. But i hope the writer will stop make her so pitiable....i want to see more of the strong and passionate SA 2. What do we want to see from SA/JY? ofcourse their collab!!

vangsweetie637
Good morning my Brahms crew! And good evening to those who are about to sleep as well @Jillia @annamchoi yup! Which is why it would be great for both families to meet. Perhaps, both families will learn something from one another. Also, to answer your question about JK’s tragedy but JY’s fortune..along the same lines from what has already been said too...from the way i interpreted it, the foundation was built under JK’s mother’s name. However, JK at this point was secluded and probably didn’t want to involve herself with the foundation at this point which then opened up the opportunity for JY. Her grandma gave JY the chance to earn money and for years, it has binded JY to the foundation to the point where he feels he just cannot break from it. The foundation most likely reminds JK of her tragic past but it reminds JY of how his fortune was built and this makes him feel indebted to the “success” of his career. I also feel that in some ways, JY may have felt like he snatched JK’s spotlight because she was in a hard time and her grandma used it to make JY successful instead. This can be why he feels indebted to JK too. He can’t face her because he feels embarrassed that he has to resort to her and the foundation for financial help. But honestly, I think JY can rip himself easily if he thinks about it carefully. First, they gave him the chance to hone his skills but it doesn’t mean he owes them his unlimited loyalty. The foundation can survive even without JY. JY too can survive without the foundation. However, it is obvious that the strings tied to JY is more tight from the grandma and foundation. Everyone keeps reminding JY that he wouldn’t make it out there by himself which makes him believe it to be true even more. I want to tell him that he can make it out there, with or without music. If he never truly loved the piano, people forgetting about the pianist Park Joon Young won’t hurt too bad. In the end, he would finally feel free. @Jillia aww thanks for taking the extra step for us on the blue-ray survey. *** You know what I find interesting is that even though Kyunghoo foundation is a burden on him too, he is actually interested in keeping the business relations because of the fact that SA is there. Notice how he says he is still talking to Chris about it..meaning he wants things to work out because even though Kyunghoo burdens him, he does enjoy the company of Team Leader Cha and now more due to SA. @Jillia haha I thought it would be fun to make the poll choices limit to only one vote because we will have to debate about which one gets us more..then i also had moments like you where i wanted to vote for almost everything on the list 1 hour ago, Jillia said: Definitely! I hope that Joon Young can dissolve his relationship with Kyunghoo Foundation somehow, so he can get back his love for music. If he had any. I'm still confused sometimes whether he ever liked playing the piano or not. this is also my wonder. To me, it feels like JY did love the piano at one time because he mentioned how much it spoke to him when he began to play it. But the moment after having to go through all the competitions and just having to play because he needed money, made him distance away. He realizes that being a pianist involved too many politics and competition to become the BEST. He isn’t interested in becoming the best but everyone around him keeps reminding him that he needs to win first place to guarantee his best success. No one is listening to the fact that he wants to play with free-will. They keep wanting to build him to be the perfect pianist because they think they know what’s best for him financially and career-wise. this also brings me to a point @Jillia pointed out. SA should have realized his unhappiness by listening to him. And I think she does but since he keeps playing, she most likely thinks he does want it half-heartedly. And also, she is also drowning in her own unsuccessful musical path hence she may feel that JY is luckier than her in terms of talents and being able to display such talents to many people who will recognize it. I think though that the moment these two talk wholeheartedly once more..with no interruptions and when they both let their guards down and just lash out their inner pains and sorrows..both will be able to heal and lean on each other. SA has a way with words in the sense of a warm comfort and JY has an ear for listening from his heart. 6 1
Sky8lue
@cherrhys88 Thank you for sharing SBS' special video on the meaning behind the "lines" in the JY-SA scenes (http://youtu.be/PdltkUgd3ns) plus the frame analysis thread by typedmaru (twitter)! It's so heartwarming to learn that the DYLB production team has put so much thought into cinematic storytelling. Wish the drama had been fully pre-produced so that the production team would have ample time to fix the choppy editing/abrupt transitions in a few scenes. They seem to be filming well ahead of schedule though, so hopefully the editing can be tightened as the drama wraps up in the final six episodes. I can't believe we need to say goodbye in barely three weeks... Poll choices: 1) Park Sung Jae aka Simon - Simply because his villainous and self-serving machinations are worsening with each episode. But this is all just relative, because there are so many other characters that I want to kick. At this point, I'm treating PSJ as a mere plot device who deserves less screen time. Close second: Lee Jung Kyung. She's like a violin with broken strings. A violin that once played beautiful music but is now jarring to hear. She needs to stop hurting others just because she is hurting. 2) Truthful conversation - I NEED them to talk. Given their personalities, I don't even know if they can have a proper verbal argument since one person might walk off when the conversation gets heated. But unless they sit down and have that heart to heart conversation, they cannot close that gap between them. I hope the overnight trip outside Seoul will provide the long-awaited opportunity. 3) Confession Kiss - This kiss saved JY from getting cursed out by all the drama fans after his terrible prelude to the confession. That aside, this kiss (or two kisses, to be exact, as the first one was interrupted when SA hit the piano keys) tugged at the heartstrings. The ice cream kisses were beautifully sweet (dolce per the episode title) but do not evoke the same emotional impact for me. I'm waiting for the kiss that tops the confession kiss which can only come after the OTP overcome the hurdles in their lives. Has this been shared yet? Sneha
Haha, I answered the poll questions, but now I don't remember my answers except I like the confession kiss more and I do want them to fight. It would be intense, but great to finally see the more open about there feelings. Honestly, it was struggle for me to choose between the annoying, sly, despicable manager and Miss Entitled JK. Every single time his face comes on to my screen I just want to.... Also JK really irritates she is like play for me... I am waiting for JY like he waited for me. Honestly, when I watched that scene I was like would just SHUT UP! I would have said that if I was Song-ah but..... Favorite scenes from ep 9- 1. I also adore a jealous JY ( very manly) it is fun to see because we only seen Song-ah be insecure. He was also upset that she won't be having dinner with him. I loved that expression he has on his face. I actually enjoyed it more than the ice-cream scene. One thing I didn't understand though during the conversation was the part where he was like the praise should be detailed...and Song-ah at the end of the conversation was like did it show??? I didn't get that. 2. I love the handkerchief scene in the rehearsal room. Everything was so special. I also love that before they were interrupted by the annoying alarm was the expression they both had on their face. It was like JY was so drawn to Song-ah shining eyes. The whole scene her eyes and warm way of speaking is nice. 3. The ice-cream because I love how he admitted he made excuse to see her. Episode 10 favorite moments (hard to come up with but..) 1. The taxi scene because JY is like Yup, I know she loves me... 2. Also, he texted her in the car when she was the Miss Entitled ( that is her new nickname).. I liked that and not many ppl have mentioned it 3. Honestly, I did like the apartment scene even though both of them were uncomfortable and the lead up to that... 4. The waving scene is always very cute EP 11- The preview was way too short and misleading. I think SJ confronting Song-ah is going to be the last straw for JY because he is extremely protective of her. I hope this can be is officially bye bye episode. Also side note, I don't if ppl thought about this.. but I believe genuinely JY is actually very proud the fact that Song-ah is his gf. Not, just because he told everyone but I get this from the beginning episodes as well. I think the also we could or could not a bed scene. I think once they are able to play in front of each other then that would mean....they are extremely comfortable with each other. Until that happens I am not so sure we will get one. Just my two thoughts on that 9
vangsweetie637
@Sneha wait..JY gave SA a nickname? Omo. How did I miss such a small, adorable detail?? I have to rewatch. Did you mean during the scene when he is in the car with MS? welcome @loveiskim! Do enjoy your time with us here in discussions and spazzing! i am also hoping JY will kick SJ’s butt for trying to pull all the manager strings on him. If not, he can just say: while we do the butt kicking! in the text preview, it says we will see the relationship between SA/JY grow even closer..i am curious to see what this “closer” means. I hope it means reassurance with a hug-kiss..and some hidden truths revealed. Important things first, remember JY?!! and he better tell her he joined the competition because I really don’t want JK to be the one that rubs it in SA’s face, saying “you are his girlfriend so how come I knew about it first?” 2
Sneha
@vangsweetie637 No, he texted Songah in the car when she was with Miss Entitled. Sorry for the confusion. I thought people should mention it since... Yes, in what way to do the become closer is my concern. I hope it is not just in the physical way but truly knowing each other.
