JTBC has revealed a first teaser video for the new drama “Hush”!

The upcoming Friday-Saturday drama is about the everyday struggles and ethical dilemmas of newspaper reporters. It will portray their problems as ones that all office workers deal with, rather than just reporters.

Hwang Jung Min takes the role of Han Joon Hyuk, a veteran reporter who’s lost his passion for the work because of the harsh reality of the industry. In contrast, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA plays the spirited and bold intern reporter Lee Ji Soo, and Han Joon Hyuk becomes her mentor while they work on the same team.

The cast of “Hush” also includes Park Ho San, Yoo Sun, Son Byung Ho, Kim Won Hae, Lee Seung Joon, Kim Jae Chul, Kyung Soo Jin, Jung Joon Won, and more.

The first teaser kicks off with Han Joon Hyuk suddenly pointing toward the camera with a glare and a sound of warning. As viewers get a look at the rest of the reporters at the newspaper Daily Korea and their daily lives at the office, the cast continues to turn to the camera to put a finger to their lips and make a shushing sound.

Hwang Jung Min And YoonA Gesture To Keep Silent In Posters For “Hush”

Nov 3, 2020
by S. Nam

JTBC’s new drama “Hush” released two new posters starring Hwang Jung Min and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA!

In contrast, YoonA plays the spirited and bold intern reporter Lee Ji Soo, and Han Joon Hyuk becomes her mentor while they work on the same team.

In the new teaser posters, Han Joon Hyuk and Lee Ji Soo each look towards the front with a finger to their lips in a shushing motion. Their gazes shine as if they’re preparing to tell the viewers something.

Han Joon Hyuk has a friendly smile along with a deep gaze that faces reality straight on. Rather than his title as a reporter, he’s become more accustomed to the title of an “expert at clickbait headlines.” However, intern reporter Lee Ji Soo will rekindle his lost passion. In her poster, Lee Ji Soo has a determined gaze as someone who doesn’t hesitate to say what needs to be said.

Han Joo Hyuk’s and Lee Ji Soo’s shushing gestures not only reflect the title of the drama, but they also raise curiosity for the realistic lives of reporters who have a lot to say but choose to stay silent because their wages and livelihood depend on it. The text written throughout both posters read, “The lives of the salaried reporters who work to make a living.”

JTBC has revealed another teaser for upcoming drama “Hush”!

The drama is about the everyday struggles and ethical dilemmas of newspaper reporters. It will portray their problems as ones that all office workers deal with, rather than just reporters.

Hwang Jung Min takes the role of Han Joon Hyuk, a veteran reporter who’s lost his passion for the work because of the harsh reality of the industry. In contrast, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA plays the spirited and bold intern reporter Lee Ji Soo.

The new clip shows the daily life of an intern reporter. At first, Lee Ji Soo is filled with determination and spirit, and she claims, “My motto is ‘the pen is mightier than the sword.'” However, she becomes more and more disheartened as she is bombarded with demands, and most people address her as “intern” instead of her name. Documents pile up on her desk, and her expression grows uncertain as she stares at all the work she has to do.

To make it worse, Han Joon Hyuk stops by her desk, stares at her computer screen, and scoffs in disappointment before charging off without helping her. However, the smile returns on her face when her close friends invite her to eat chicken with them. She comments, “But food is mightier than the pen,” and she hurries to enjoy her lunch break.

However, the second poster of Lee Ji Soo reveals an unexpected twist. Her readiness to protect her meals is as strong as her desire to uncover the truth. A fun series of special teasers were revealed for the the upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Hush”!

“Hush” is about the everyday struggles and ethical dilemmas of newspaper reporters.

The first teaser begins with a ’90s-style promotional video for the newspaper company Maeil Korea. The narrator says, “In line with the new media era of the 21st century, going beyond the newspaper is digital news! Now, read Maeil Korea every morning.” Han Joon Hyuk and Lee Ji Soo then appear in VHS quality, saying, “Korea’s tomorrow is in Maeil Korea.”

The video zooms out to Han Joon Hyuk and Lee Ji Soo watching the promotional clip in a meeting room, and Han Joon Hyuk says with a skeptical face, “Is it really effective these days to promote like this?” Sounding slightly uncertain, Lee Ji Soo responds, “It’s often done like this these days.”

The second teaser begins with the same retro promotional video, but this time, Uhm Sung Han (Park Ho San), the head of the digital news department, is watching it as well. He says, “You call this a promotional video? How can I post this?” Han Joon Hyuk tells him respectfully, “Chief, this is what’s really effective these days.”

Finally, the last teaser shows the reaction of Na Sung Won (Son Byung Ho), the executive editor. With a smile, Na Sung Won says, “You did it! See, you can do it! It’s good!” and Uhm Sung Han laughs awkwardly as he pretends to agree.

Veteran actor Hwang Jung Min and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA shared their thoughts on co-starring in the upcoming JTBC drama “Hush”!

“Hush” is about the everyday struggles and ethical dilemmas of newspaper reporters. It will portray their problems as ones that all office workers deal with, rather than just reporters.

Hwang Jung Min takes the role of Han Joon Hyuk, a veteran reporter who’s lost his passion for the work because of the harsh reality of the industry. In contrast, YoonA plays the spirited and bold intern reporter Lee Ji Soo, and Han Joon Hyuk becomes her mentor while they work on the same team.

On November 23, the drama unveiled stills of Hwang Jung Min and YoonA in character.

First off, Hwang Jung Min poses as Han Joon Hyuk, a reporter with no passion. In one photo, he smiles brightly at a billiard hall, and in another photo, he blankly stares ahead of him with a lollipop in hand. Although he might seem lazy, his deep eyes tell many stories.

On the other hand, YoonA transforms into the hard-working Lee Ji Soo. Her eyes are lit up with youthful determination, and she will do whatever it takes to deliver stories to the public.

Viewers are also looking forward to Hwang Jung Min and YoonA’s synergy and teamwork.

Hwang Jung Min talked about his co-star, saying, “YoonA is very clever, and she has sharp senses. She also has good diction and a communicative voice. It’s nice to see her making an effort to always improve as an actress. I think it will be great if I could give her more tips while working together.”

Girls’ Generation’s YoonA And Hwang Jung Min Pose As Busy Reporters In Main Poster For “Hush”

Nov 24, 2020

Hwang Jung Min and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA’s upcoming JTBC drama “Hush” has unveiled its main poster!

In the new poster that is cleverly formatted as a newspaper, YoonA and Hwang Jung Min portray the unique charms of their characters.

YoonA poses as Lee Ji Soo, a hard-working intern reporter, and her eyes are wide and round with curiosity and youthful passion. She leans towards her fellow reporter with a clipboard in hand, as if she’s about to ask him a question.

On the other hand, Hwang Jung Min shows the leisure of the veteran reporter Han Joon Hyuk. Despite the hectic workplace, he looks relaxed and even a bit lazy as he sits as his desk with a coffee tumbler in hand. He doesn’t even glance towards Lee Ji Soo, and he seems uninterested to hear what she has to say.

The caption at the bottom of the poster reads, “The livelihood of salaried reporters,” hinting that the drama will show the ups and downs of average office workers.

Viewers are especially looking forward to the teamwork of idol-turned-actress YoonA and veteran actor Hwang Jung Min.

Hwang Jung Min, who is returning to the small screen in eight years, said, “I was attracted to the script, which was both realistic and unique, and I couldn’t let go of it easily. It’s a good script that makes you focus on the small stories in the solid plot.”
