larus
Hwang Jung-min returns to dramaland in JTBC’s newsroom drama Hush by tineybeanie After nearly eight years, award-winning actor Hwang Jung-min (The Spy Gone North) is coming back to the small screen through a drama called Hush. Set against the backdrop of a newspaper company, it’s a workplace drama that will tell the story of reporters, their ambitions, and their ethical dilemmas. Hwang Jung-min has been cast as the main lead, Han Joon-hyuk, a veteran reporter who began his career to fight for a just society. He’s worked in different departments to further that end. Now he has a wife and kids, and must balance his idealism with reality. Although his last drama, Hanbando, was not well-received, I expect that whatever Hwang Jung-min does will contain stellar acting. I just hope that the writing and directing will be able to keep up. During his dramaland absence, Hwang Jung-min has been prolific with his film output and he’s carved out a thriving career in the theater world as well, both acting in plays and directing musicals like Assassin and Okepi. http://www.dramabeans.com/2020/02/hwang-jung-min-returns-to-dramaland-in-jtbcs-newsroom-drama-hush/

Nam Girls’ Generation’s YoonA may be starring in a new JTBC drama! On March 11, Sports Chosun reported that a source from the drama industry had stated that YoonA is positively reviewing the offer to star in JTBC’s “Hush” (working title), adding that she will be showcasing her chemistry with Hwang Jung Min. Following reports, SM Entertainment confirmed, “YoonA has received an offer for ‘Hush,’ and she is reviewing it.” Based on Jung Jin Young’s novel “Silence Warning” (literal title), “Hush” is an office drama about newspaper reporters and their everyday struggles, problems, and ethical dilemmas. The drama will paint the concerns that reflect those of all office employees rather than just reporters. Having partaken in the successful film “E.X.I.T” last year, YoonA would be returning to the small screen for the first time in three years since MBC’s “The King Loves” if she accepts the role. YoonA was offered the role of rookie intern reporter Lee Ji Soo who has just stepped into the media industry. After entering a newspaper publishing company, Lee Ji Soo matures as she fiercely struggles to achieve justice while standing between reality and the ideal. Earlier, it was confirmed that actor Hwang Jung Min would be starring in “Hush,” making this his first drama in eight years. He will be taking on the role of Han Joon Hyuk, a veteran reporter who chose his job because he wanted to build a more just world. If YoonA accepts the offer, she and Hwang Jung Min will be playing characters who are junior and senior in life as well as mentee and mentor on the same team at work. The two are expected to deliver comfort to viewers through a relatable work life story. https://www.soompi.com/article/1387662wpp/girls-generations-yoona-in-talks-to-star-in-new-office-drama
