Are you sure? I only just noticed that HUGE watch on CJH when he put his arms at ED's neck when he push ED against the big pillar .... Before this, i don't even notice that CJH was even wearing a watch let alone that huge watch....... 

I always thought CJH identity is his non removal glasses... 

HJH said he was 26 when Dim Sum was trying to figure out who he was. So 25-26 not much. But TI could not be 32 now when he was in a senior management post already 7 years ago. Unless of course he had a lot of shares which he had not. He was an employee. MH always said she had brought up HJH for 20 years, so DImSum would have done the same to TI.

Any which way you look, TI cannot be 32 or 27. 
 

The baby picture has no date except the mother was still alive. If she died in 2012, so the picture would have been taken then. Also I don't remember seeing how old EC was when Papa Cha died.

 

I am going to assume that the stoic TI or some people say robotic TI ( eh @Lmangla ?? ) is much more mature than ED or HJH.

 

@shana0127 I am guessing CJH's temporary secretary is EC's uncle or his mother's spurned suitor. Loyal and faithful even in death, ' Four eyes I am going to get you, watch me'. 
Why did he take 8 years to start his revenge? He was either overseas or in prison, no?

even if this drama is nowhere close to reality, am also assuming that robot is close to 40 whereas eun dong is in her mid 20s. lets see it from a different angle -- he was dating hye won and he is certainly not calling her 'noona'. even if she is young chief of the department based on her links to the family, she still would have to do about 13-15 years of study to become a specialist.

 

this is from  a response in quora: medical college is 6 years... So if you want to become a competitive specialist (doctor) in Korea you need at least 10~11 years, and 13~14 years if you must serve in the army. Physicians require 2~3 more years (ie cardiac, GI, nephrology specialist etc).

 

if we assume about 15 years of study, then she would have started practicing as a specialist in her early/mid 30s and with the 7 year time leap, she would be late 30s, close to 40. and all three -- jun hyuk, tae in and hye won are in the same age set.

 

the age gap between eun dong and tae in is not really so huge to be an issue. the bigger problem is his silence and lack of honesty. how can you have a relationship where you don't open your mouth and say what actually happened and make decisions for her as if she is a child? robot needs to tell her the truth. she is a grown woman and he needs to hold himself accountable -- whatever decision she makes is up to her.

 

it annoys me that she is still staying with his family like a teenager that needs to be protected. move out to your own house, stand on your own feet and solve your problems girl! did he offer his house like a hotel for that ex-convict? nope. eun dong shouldn't be on a revenge road if she can't take care of herself. that is one of the reasons this pairing looks so lopsided.

@Lmangla TI cannot Tell ED the truth . In fact him knowing the truth is illegal itself on side of CJH and HW who did it to blackmail him . Now TI telling ED about transplant will be another law broken. People are making an issue that it will hurt ED , well that’s why laws are made for transplants so that neither the donor nor the receiver be indebted to each other . Else everybody will start asking favors from receiver relative and donate to people they like. Special cases get permitted but that too by court! 
 

The whole transplant thing has been fully manipulated and misused in this drama. Corrupt hospital officials using desperate patients and their relatives is the core backdrop of this drama. 
 

as for ED staying at TI Hause . TI is ED guardian , now ED has Realized and accepted it. He has been taking care of EC financially since years . That lawyer friend never told him reality of ED , else he would have had come back to Korea to help her. Lawyer friend was just fed up seeing TI sulking and frustrated .So he never told him. What a friend ( eye rolls)?!

 

i don’t see any problem . Ex-convict ! ED ! Hotel! Mr. Kang  is already indebted to her father Mr Cha. It’s Mr. Kang paying of to his friend Mr Cha by taking care of his kids , TI is basically out of scene here.

Thank you @UnniSarah.  This looks like 1-2 years old, don't you think? Plus seven, he'd be 8 now, the actor looks older but 8 is acceptable to me.

 

EC's timeline is fine with me.

 

@Lmangla, I am adding ' geniuses' for HW and TI. So late 30's is probable.

 

edit: just curious, TI is ED's guardian? After 18, there is no need for a guardian in many  countries. I am guessing this is a ' morally responsible guardian' rather than a legal guardian.

@shana0127 ~ we have an expression in my language "hut or bungalow -- your house is your house" -- this means you don't overstay your welcome. it doesn't matter if you are blood related like siblings. guests should not overstay their welcome as you make yourself cheap and lower yourself. from that perspective, this is my reaction -- so what if he is her guardian? that is her father's house, her father! she is not married to tae in and it is not her house. so why keep staying there like a cheap leach/lizard? from my cultural view, it makes her look awful and it feels like she is insulting her father that his house is not good enough for her. it really irks me. okay, there was some danger. now it doesn't exist. move out, stand on your own and have your face. your father's house is your house. don't insult your house.

 

secondly, the fact that he is her guardian again makes the romantic relationship more like a parent. the drama needs to decide if he is her parent, mentor or romantic partner. so no relationship can be 100% open but this is too huge a secret. he needs to tell her if they are to have a real relationship. otherwise, he looks like a hypocrite who is purposely not telling her so that he can take advantage of her feelings. now, people have different views on what is important in a relationship (which is fine if it works for them) but for me, honesty and open communication is what makes a relationship beautiful and thats what I like to see in OTPs in dramas. that's why this romance is not my cup and I am fast forwarding their scenes. I have actually lost all interest in the leads and instead now watching because I want to find out who is this mysterious man in black -- he is kinda cute?! every week, I am tempted to drop this drama.

@Lmangla I agree with your logic regarding stay ....guests must not overstay .....as for TI ED romantic relationship well I was in for it from day one , that’s why I am watching  it  but your POV is also right ......TI should start with clean slate.

@shana0127 @Lmangla  the way any drama or  film can attract viewers is a plot with conflicts or unusual characters ( extra beautiful or extra smart, extra and extra  making them extraordinary) or visually and aurally stunning. So with Asian shows they can't resort to 'heavy breathing' scenes very often which American TV can have late at night... that was some years ago. So we have conflicts and secrets which can be so pathetic, it is unbelievable. Then the others which can leave us what the ....

 

This writer is taking the conflictS and secrets routes. So no matter, how unrealistic, unreasonable.. he is going to drag it out. At this stage with HW's and CJH's part in the father's heart transplant out in the open, keeping it secret is just to drag the story. While I am keen to know EC's parentage now we are going to have CJH's story, and I don't want more than one episode on him.

I think DS met TI right after DS wanted to commit suicide.   Had it been a few years after HJH was snatch from DS, DS met TI, then, TI will be only 4- 5 years older than HJH, so that doesn't make sense... heheh...

This sounds more of you looking at TI and imagining what his age is, which i think its unfair...  So the actor can't look the part of a early to mid thirties, we can't judge just coz he look late 30s -40 year old... 

 

Earlier on just before ED went to prison, TI was a potential excellent employee, (with management post, but i don't think it was a senior management post) that the Chairman had noticed potential and grooming TI to be his right hand man... Again doing the Maths, at that time TI would have been 26-27 years old. If he had started working at 23-24, which means he had 3 years working experience... i think TI was not in charge of any department, but i think he was in the investment department team..  Then he went to US for 6 years which is to gain experience. So by the time he came back, TI would have a glowing CV with oversea experience that Korean loves to have. On top of that, the Chairman who already know TI to be a hardworking employee, took TI as his right hand man... Now TI is 32-33 years old with 9-10  years experience... I think its possible... But then again HJH has ZERO experience let alone management experience, yet the Chairman has no problem making HJH a Director, same level as SJ who has at least 7 working years experience than HJH.. 

 

I think the time line went hair-wired all coz they made ED high school drop-out who went to jail, then they also want TI, HW, CJH to be younger, so they add the story line how DS first met a 7 year old TI, that she decided that she want to be the mother of TI... Had they put TI to be 11 or 12 years old, a boy that age may not want a step mom, hence it will be difficult for a newly loss DS to bond and attached to.  

 

In my opinion, had they made ED to be a college student with TI to be 8 years older, then the time line would make sense..... ED would have been in the prison around the age of 23, so TI could have been 30-31 then... So, in 2020, then TI would have been 37 years old, with ED, 29 years old, the story line would have made more sense...

I do agree on HW's part, there is nooo way she was a specialist at the age of 27 years old, able to do a heart transplant at that... 

 

Why am i even doing all this maths....??? I've got to remember , this is korean drama, they don't makes sense half of the time anyway....

I was so proud of Dim Sum. She finally had the courage to yell at MH. MH who is alway in a high horse looking down at people when she should have been thoroughly examined her own family. 
HJH was so sad to find out his stepmom found out about what her brother did and chose to protect her brother instead of standing up for her. 
DIM Sum’s words was perfect. She said after raising HJH all these years , how can you not be hurt or pissed off at what happened to him. She wasn’t talking fro the moral point but the fact that she was in fact his mom, should have been more than enough reason for her want her brother to be punished for his crimes.

yea, that is totally expected but I wish it was done better like in so many other dramas. the problem is we never see tae in have a heart to heart with anyone. not even himself. so we have just his blank face going "error! error!" at the most emotion.  so revenge dailys are built on secret and conflict but this one is really missing something.

 

If I think about other dailys I enjoyed, I guess what I want to see:  the sense that a person is conflicted (where they talk to people), the back and forth of a relationship where people are advising common sense, discussion of the question "are you sure you want to do this?", and the awareness of the other party that there is something else going on but as adults, they are choosing to pursue this anyway. at least then, no matter how unbelievable, I am not tempted to fast forward even if I think the romance is ridiculous.

 

I don't want to be a downer and so am avoiding commenting as much as possible as I don't want to ruin anyone really enjoying this drama, but this drama is really badly written. the actors are doing their best but it is such mess and already dragging and we are not even close to ep 80. It feels like they are randomly throwing in the birth secret of eun chan because the drama needs some story.

@Ameera Ali How i wish you can watch today's episode.. Ouri TI is now comfortable holding ED's hand.... ED calling "dips" again by marking her man with the handkerchief...  I think that's why HJH lost ED, coz he doesn't wear suit hence ED have no reason to put handkerchief to HJH earlier on....  By the time HJH wore a suit, it was wayyy too late ....

ED is one handkerchief one man kinda girl.....

I had watched VIP before this show. Some people liked the ending. For me it was downhill after the identity of mistress was revealed and ended completely in the pits. So watching a happy ending in the works is something to look forward too.

TI with his over the top sense of responsibility is directly opposite to the male lead in VIP. I was glad it did not win the best drama or writing. 
 

September is far away for Lee Yoo Ri's drama. Her ex-mother in law on the revenge path , I think, against her.

yea, I am waiting for this one. till then, there is my mom is having an affair. also checked out my wonderful life which started this week. looks alright. the previous drama I watched was gracious revenge. while there were parts of it that were ridiculous, all the acting was top notch and the revenge was so much better done. even the romance (no matter half baked) was actually far better because of the consequences and the way people reacted to them.

 

am going to try hang in here this week but if the comedy doesn't return, might drop this drama. the only thing entertaining was when the villains were funny. sigh. am pretty sure that I can just pop my head in the last week and would still be able to figure out what happened!

ED fits right in in TI's place and family..... And since she is chipping in paying to TI's parents while living there, i don't see why ED and EC cannot stay in that house with TI's parents. The family obviously love those two and ED did try to want to go back fearing she and EC might out stay their welcome, but ALL 3 told her to stay with them further.... So all is good to me....

Love how ED is already doing wifey stuff and she herself took the initiative to want to do it. ED look like a proud wife putting TI's new name title on TI's desk.... so cute..... And ED's happy expression when TI ask her to make time for him tomorrow... 

I also like how TI (used-to-be-robotic), now comfortable in consoling ED, a bit like boy friendly level for robotic TI level  in my opinion.... He initial now hugging ED, holding hands with ED, and based on tomorrow preview, putting his arms around ED while helping ED catch her "fish"....  Aside from not telling ED whose heart is in TI's dad (by law, TI shouldn't know this info anyway) , TI has been open and sharing any info he got with ED... He is alert when ED is down, he wants to always help ED out and showing and telling ED that he will help her, big improvement... He doesn't do everything himself, TI actually starts to share info with ED. Love that he, ED and lawyer friend are always brainstorming together... 

 

And as for the lawyer friend, he sure can't keep secrets... All TI has done, he will tell to whomever ask him.. lol... Forgot who said it, i read that the lawyer friend can't stand TI moping miserably when ED might be dating TI that the lawyer friend starts telling ED TI's secret one by one... LOL... So, tomorrow, TI will share his hobby with ED and EC. Its like ED's family is TI's family, TI's family is ED's family too.... heheh...

 

Lastly, thank you k-writers, for NO longer make ED be motherly to crybaby, no more putting his head on ED's shoulder and all...  Let HJH do that with his BIO mom..... OR just don't put any scene where HJH cries would be good too...

I posted this elsewhere, but I may be in the minority. However, the actor portraying JH and the actress portraying ED have great chemistry. Even when they have scenes just arguing or yelling at each other, that tension is palpable. They should be cast as the leading OTP in another drama together.

Preview really scared me ! What is TI planning ! He is giving all happy moments to ED but he himself  is so sad inside. He is like okey you want it , I do it for you . He is thrusting ED again in hands of HJH! Who is happy ready to have her!
