Park Seo Joon Shares Glimpse Of Script For Upcoming Film With IU + Lee Hyun Woo Responds

Park Seo Joon and Lee Hyun Woo seem to be excited about their new film!

The two friends will be starring together in the upcoming film “Dream” (literal title), which will be helmed by the director of the record-breaking hit movie “Extreme Job” and the recent JTBC drama “Melo Is My Nature.” The film will tell the story of a motley crew of inexperienced players trying out for the Homeless World Cup, an annual international soccer event.

Park Seo Joon will be starring in the movie as Yoon Hong Dae, a professional soccer player who ends up coaching the team after he is put on disciplinary probation. Lee Hyun Woo will play the role of In Sun, one of the players on the team, while IU will star as the film’s female lead.

On April 25, Park Seo Joon took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of the script for the upcoming film. The actor posted a photo of the screenplay’s whimsical cover, which bears names and cartoonish portraits of each of the main characters—as well as a post-it with the name of Park Seo Joon’s character Hong Dae.

In addition to pointing out his character’s portrait in the photo, Park Seo Joon wrote in the caption, “Hong Dae.”

Shortly afterwards, Lee Hyun Woo responded by leaving a comment with “In Sun”—the name of his own character—and a couple of cute emojis.

That is one of the cutest script booklet covers I have seen. PSJ’a hair grew out but I wonder if they will give him another one to suit the ‘soccer/football’ look lol.

Is there something like football look?;) I don’t follow football players, but based on World Cup everyone has different style and they all try to stand out

@serenilmauve true, times of changed and players now have a variety of look but for the longest time - there was stereotypical footballer look with the very short - almost bald kinda cut that had angular lines etc. Even one of my ex, who was a footballer, had this cut lol.

I doubt PSJ will go with “sporty buzzcut”, he wanted to do something like that for Itaewon Class, but writer suggested specific hair length, that we know right now as PSR’s significant “chestnut haircut”;))) He will probably just style them and that’s it. Especially after 7 months of maintaining “chestnut”, he probably wants his hair to grow back

Veteran actress Baek Ji Won, who worked with director Lee Byung Heon in the drama "Be Melodramatic", has shown her reliable and worth-watching acting as she has pulled off various characters through dramas such as "Encounter", "The Fiery Priest", "How to Buy a Friend", and movie "Family Affair", etc. Currently, she is receiving a lot of love from the audience when revealing her refreshing, lovely, and humanistic charm through the character "Ok Ja" - an old miss who is falling in an unrequited love - in the weekend drama "Once Again" (KBS 2TV).

Earlier, though the drama "Encounter", Baek Ji Won expressed warm maternity love to Park Bo Gum when portraying a mother who always cares about her son with realistic and meticulous acting, evoking sympathy of viewers. Dream bills itself as a delightful drama about a soccer player, faced with the biggest crisis of his playing career, going to the Homeless World Cup along with a crew of unusual players who have never kicked a soccer ball before in their lives.

Park Seo Jun, who has starred in a string of hits both on the silver screen (The Divine Fury, Midnight Runners, The Beauty Inside) and the small screen (Itaewon Class, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?), will be playing Yoon Hong Dae, a professional soccer player who ends up becoming suspended after being involved in an unexpected incident. Although Hong Dae is half-forced into becoming a coach for a soccer team that has been thrown together, as time passes, he begins sincerely trusting and leading his players.

IU, who has been getting recognition for her solid acting skills in dramas such as Hotel del Luna and My Mister, and the Netflix original movie Persona, will be playing the role of Lee So Min, a television producer who dreams of hitting it big by making a documentary of Yoon Hong Dae’s soccer team. Dream marks the first time IU will be sharing a screen with Park So Jun, and is also the first commercial film for the solo singer.

The film also features a strong supporting cast. Kim Jong Soo has been cast for the role of Kim Hwan Dong, the spiritual leader of the soccer team; playing the role of mood maker Jeon Hyo Bong is actor Ko Chang Seok; Jung Seung Kil will be playing team troublemaker Son Bum Soo; cast for the role of the team’s timid ace, Kim In Sun, is Lee Hyun Woo; Yang Hyun Min will play Jeon Mun Soo, the emotional and aggressive goalkeeper; and Hong Wan Pyo will be playing the role of Young Jin, a character who prefers physical activity to intellectual pursuits. The ensemble is made complete with the addition of Heo Joon Seok, who will be playing  the team’s director Hwang In Guk, and Lee Hanee, who will be on hand to play Byung Sam, a member of the documentary crew.

During the table-read for the film, the energy and chemistry between the actors prompted non-stop laughter. “This is a film that I’ve been working on for a long time, so it’s very meaningful to me. We’ve gathered a group of excellent actors, and I’m looking forward to working with them,” revealed director Lee Byeong Heon. “I’m excited and looking forward to the time I’ll spend as Hong Dae. I’ll be working hard to make sure that we can present a good film to audiences,” said Park Seo Jun. IU, who was also asked to share her thoughts on joining the project, explained, “I’m approaching it with a sense of excitement and responsibility, as this is my first feature-length film. I’m happy to be working with my senior colleagues, who I have a lot to learn from and who are always so warm, my fellow cast members, and also the crew members.”

Dream is expected to hit theaters in 2021.
