Silent lurker n regular follower here.  Annyeong, welcome to the thread  chingu.    had to get this off my chest abt ep 11 n 12.. do let me know your thoughts if you guys perceived thes

I have so many thoughts about this drama, but I will just hone in on the most important.   The biggest underlying theme in this drama is CLASS.    From the very beginning, everyone

FanArt by @thankyouBoGum

@JilliaI think this drama will show how the modelling world is operating. This is as far as I read from what HMH the writer said in one of her interviews.  But most of all it is how these youth will break the barrier of being the mediocre in the field they wanted to succeed. I feel the spirit of Itaewon Class here. You know the courageous spirit of oneself inspite of getting dragged down by the environment that in one way or another shld support them. That's the layer that I'm talking about. And I think this drama will be incorporated of many genres. Excited for tomorrow.

Hehe...I'm enjoying reading everyone's comments about the drama...:fullofhearts:

Actually, it wasn't my intention to share my thoughts cos I do quite enjoy being a lurker at times...

For me, I think ROY will not just be your typical slice of life drama but it will also include many intense, emotional and excitable scenes too and at the same time, delving on the romance, bromance, family ties and the lighthearted moments shared between the main leads and the supporting cast.

I do believe the main theme of the drama is likely to focus on the main leads pursuing their dreams in spite of the many obstacles and setbacks they will encounter along this long, arduous pathway on reaching for their goals. As they learn to overcome all these hurdles in their lives, they will grow to become much stronger and more resilient than before. With the continual support of their loved ones, they will grow to believe in themselves and come to realise that nothing is impossible so long as they work hard for it. :wow1:

On top of that, we also have our beloved and highly talented Park-Park Couple, the charismatic Byeon Woo-Seok and our veteran supporting cast playing the roles of their family members. These are all elements in a drama which I will look out for when deciding on the drama I'm gonna watch. Aren't we all hyped and excited about watching the premiere episode tonight! :gangnamstyle:

Reading your comment, @MinLyn, "Record of Youth" will have both a cross-cultural  and cross-generational appeal because of its universal themes: Youth is a Mindset, Family Is and Ought to be a Fan of One's Dreams, One has to Break Through The Prejudice of the "Spoons" One is Born With To Achieve One's Dreams.

I think Charlie Jung is the designer whom they modeled the fashion clothes. It was written in the grand runway Homme Jung. It was like a brand name like Prada,  Ms. Gee Collections of Korea and other. :) @gumtaek

tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Record of Youth” is gearing up for its premiere!

“Record of Youth” is about young people who struggle to achieve their dreams and find love amidst the harsh realities of life in the modeling industry. Park Bo Gum stars as Sa Hye Joon, an aspiring actor and model. Park So Dam plays Ahn Jung Ha, an aspiring makeup artist, and Byun Woo Seok plays Won Hae Hyo, a model who wants to achieve success on his own terms.

Below are a few reasons to look forward to the upcoming drama!

Already, viewers are curious to see how Park Bo Gum, Park So Dam, and Byun Woo Seok will portray the three main characters. On his upcoming project, Park Bo Gum expressed his hopes that viewers will be able to relate to the realistic issues portrayed in the drama. The actor also revealed that he tried very hard to portray an ordinary young man in his 20s trying to achieve his goal, raising anticipation for how his character will take on the challenge of walking his own path. Park So Dam’s character Ahn Jung Ha will also showcase a variety of sides as an ambitious young woman and Sa Hye Joon’s fan, and Byun Woo Seok’s character Won Hae Hyo will try to be acknowledged for his own merits rather than his family’s background. The stories that these three young adults will portray as they chase after their dreams will be exciting points to anticipate in the upcoming drama.

The combination of director Ahn Gil Ho and scriptwriter Ha Myung Hee

Director Ahn Gil Ho, who worked on “Forest of Secrets” (“Stranger”), “Memories of the Alhambra,” and “Watcher,” shared, “This is a story of youth in their 20s who are seriously contemplating about their dreams. In addition to their perspective on dreams and love and the families who support them, the drama handles various topics that encompass different generations.” The story will be written by scriptwriter Ha Myung Hee, who wrote “Doctors” and “Temperature of Love.” Known for adding a realistic perspective to a warm and emotional story, scriptwriter Ha Myung Hee shared, “Rather than a story about the difficulties of reality youth face, it’s a story of them overcoming and winning.”

A story of supportive families

The drama will also portray the stories of families who support the growth of the young adults in their own ways. Ha Hee Ra and Shin Ae Ra will each respectively take on the roles of Han Ae Sook and Kim Yi Young, two mothers with vastly different backgrounds and values. Viewers are curious to see the different methods of love and support the mothers will show their sons who share the same dream. Furthermore, Han Jin Hee will take on the role of Sa Hye Joon’s grandfather Sa Min Ki, who will showcase a heartwarming and refreshing chemistry with Sa Hye Joon. Park Soo Young will play Sa Hye Joon’s realistic father Sa Young Nam, and Seo Sang Won will play Won Hae Hyo’s father Won Tae Kyung. Finally, Lee Jae Won will play Sa Hye Joon’s individualistic older brother Sa Kyung Joon, and Jo Yoo Jung will play Won Hae Hyo’s intelligent younger sister Won Hae Na.

Talented cast and special cameos

The main characters in the story will grow as they encounter many different people in their lives. Some will support them, while others will help them wake up to a bitter reality. The synergy of the talented actors who will deliver laughter and relatable stories to the viewers is also another point to look out for in the drama. Shin Dong Mi will star as Sa Hye Joon’s passionate rookie manager Lee Min Jae, Lee Seung Joon will play fashion designer Charlie Jung who cherishes Sa Hye Joon, and Lee Chang Hoon will play the model agency CEO Lee Tae Soo. Kwon Soo Hyuk will add to the youthful energy by playing Sa Hye Joon and Won Hae Hyo’s friend Kim Jin Woo who dreams of becoming a photographer. The cast also includes the unique and talented actors Jung Min Sung, Yang So Min, Jo Ji Seung, Lim Ki Hong, Park Sae Hyun, and more. Furthermore, the drama will also feature special appearances from Seo Hyun Jin, Kim Hye Yoon, Seol In Ah, and Kim Gun Woo.

“Record of Youth” premieres on September 7 at 9 p.m. KST. Watch a teaser for the drama here!

Yeah, @Jillia!  Nothing beats than having supportive families who are always rooting for our main leads! I'm also looking forward to seeing Hye-Joon's close interaction with his haraboji who is likely to be one of his biggest fans too! :kiss_wink: We're gonna be seeing so many different faces of Park Bo-Gum, the gorgeous model, the cool-looking "thug", the loving son and grandson, the bosom friend and not forgetting, the romantic and caring boyfriend to Jung-Ha. :fullofhearts:
