Ok, i have done watching finale episode. Actually the ending was not that bad for me. Its something different compared to most drama that have happy ending in life.

But the reason SSR choose to died that i can't accept. I felt how selfish she are not thinking about other people that she leave behind. I dont know anymore everything messed up and that scene actually very wrong in some way. The writer seems promoted suicide here. No moral value at all. :brokenheart:

And keeping the young characters alive, just in case SBS and KSO makes a spin-off series someday.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Kang Mari and Madam Billionaire (which I don't know her name) say they're gonna build another penthouse? There might be a war among the generation of the new penthouse owners, it's might be Zeus palace and Poseidon's, hahaha.
The Hera kids are cute and they fit their roles but I don't think they could carry a makjang show all by themselves without the veteran actors.

I feel like the view of suicide being selfish is sort of insensitive to people who've experienced depression or dealt with suicidal thoughts.

SSR felt immense guilt for her actions, and what she said was true, honestly. Part of the reason why OYH died was because of her revenge. The reason why HYC died was because SHE asked him to spy on Seojin (but this was an accident so it doesn't really count.)

The kids are adults now. Add a love interest for Shim Seok-Kyung to the cast and I think they could carry the show.

Agreed. All the characters should've had happy endings.

The writer should think other way if wanna 'killed off' SSR character. For example she really could not survived with her plan to get CSJ alibi on the scene in front of police. Just like that. No need to create a scenario like SSR wants to commit suicide. This is no good for viewers that easily got influenced by show like this. I love the ending even its the bittersweets one.:heart2beat:

Yessss. And it could have been the master plan of SSR and Logan. Oh Yoonhee was watching all along and later joins them. CSJ is punished and EB leaves her. Happy SSR and Logan, and happy Yoonhee and Rona with Seokhoon. The end!

This ending reminds me a bit of I'm Sorry I Love You. Very sad, but a well-acted and written show. Tragic endings haven't been seen in k-dramas in a while. I too am emotionally attached to Penthouse! I'm still sad! :cries:

agree with you.

aside from SSR feeling guilty to the deceased, shouldnt she feel responsibility to her twins, esp now that Seok Kyung is her real daughter?  Hye In who needs her too?  Ro Na who also relied on her?  Lets not even talk about how much SSR character gone thru with LL, throughout the years....:brokenheart:...instead of feeling apologetic to the deceased, she should live even better and help their kids (in my own happy ending)

the suicide is really unnecessary...esp in korea where suicide rates can be quite high, why would they want to 'promote' suicide of a well loved character..:sleepy:

YES, the ending is not special, but quite consistent

i wait for rating for this final episode:)

I have the impression that in season 2, they wanted to make a love triangle rona eubyol and Seokhoon but they quickly abandoned this idea lol

I'm just disappointed that in the end Rona and Eunbyoel won't have a sibling relationship after all that has happened:weary:

People are a little confused, Dantae is not alive, just the actor playing him who has yet to play another BUT SMALL role as a reminder in this final episode

It is obvious that the writer had not imagined the end so, the character of Logan became very beloved by the public;)

KIM SO YEON BEST ACTRESS, i love her last little song performance, i'm cry for this, beautiful:bawling:

Yes can i ask so Logan died? But he was at the opera performance.... im confused.

Yes, he died. His spirit was at the opera performance. It was a twist that made you think he was alive. Similar to the movie, The Sixth Sense.

I get that Han Ji Hyun is an outbreak newcomer this year and she has gained a lot of fans (from around 13k followers to 2mil followers on insta) but I don't think her acting skills are on par with her sunbaes Kim So Yeon, Eugene, etc to carry a makjang show where most main characters (and actor who play the said characters) are 35+. HJH might work with melodrama for young people first before she gets to that phase.

Needless to say, I think this show wouldn't draw that much attention if it ended on a happy note instead of this bittersweet ending

for screentime

for adults:  for all season 1, 2 and 3:  Dantae and Seojin have the most screentime surpasse also for the hera kids, SSR missed a lot in season 2

For hera Kids, i'm no sure, MAYBE IT's Seok khoon ans Eunbyoel,   in season  ,rona mised a lot, but in season 3 she was here a lot with Seok kyung, for this final episode, they five a lot screentime to Eunbyoel

I have been thinking a lot about the ending of the drama. And while I am not personally satisfied with such an ending, as i never am, i think it stick true to the character of Shim Su Ryeon and Logan Lee.Logan Lee had almost given up living due to his illness and Seol Ah was the one that gave him hope again. So his reason at the time for living was Seol Ah. When Seol Ah died Logan has only one reason left to live and that was to avenge her death. I think the original idea would probably have been Logan dying at some point in the story and joining  Seol Ah. But then he found his reason to continue living in Shim Su Ryeon. With Su Ryeon gone, logan had lost his final reason to live and hence he just waited to fulfill a promise he made to himself to give more children like Seol Ah a chance to achieve their dreams. Once he saw that happen in the form of Bae Rona's first performance, he knew he had finished the work he was meant to do.

As for Shim Su Ryeon,  she was a kind hearted woman. We know this simply form the fact that she was so mentally disturbed by the sudden death of Min Seol Ah in front of her eyes. And mind you this was before she knew Seol Ah was her own daughter and when she had every reason to get herself together - she had Seok Hoon, Seok Kyung and Hae In at the time to think about. This proves that she is someone that truly values human life. So that fact that over time, due to her revenge, Na Ae Gyo, Oh Yoon Hee, and Ha Yoon Chul lost their lives, she was completely disturbed by it. And so her death was her way of paying back what these people had sacrificed for her revenge. I also think that her death was an important milestone for her kids to grow up and become independent, truly independent. We see Seok Kyung live a proper life, having learned form her mistakes, and Seok Hoon also learning to pursue his own happiness in life with Rona. Without her death i think this character development would not have been possible.

So in a sense, based on their characters, i think this was probably the most accurate ending the show could have gotten. But of course maybe the addition of a scene where they meet Seol Ah in the after life and love happily there together would have been quite nice!!

Please enlighten me on this .... if someone is shot in the head, wouldn't he die instantaneously?

Technically, no but in case of Dan Te, he was shot and then fell a good 100 floors or more and possibly broke a whole lot more of his bones and ruptured organs so the probability of him surviving that is almost 0.

The suicide was incredibly unnecessary. The honorable thing would have been confessing to law enforcement and going to jail to repent, that way she and Logan could reunite later, the kids would still have their mom by them. The younger cast can't carry a spin off. Only a few of them have the spark and range. I really do hope this is the end.

How is Rona annoying even as a big success? I think I just don’t like her personality.

cheon seo Jin is terrible, yet I couldn’t stop watching her. She had charisma. I’m just saying this to show the contrast.   Maybe it’s the actresses?

okay, finally finished. Sad it’s over and CANNOT BELIEVE I watched every episode of this show. Wow. It must have been good.

thank you all. I know we have all been emotional over this show together, which means it was effective! Lol.

Lmao she was perfectly fine in her last scenes. She matured well tbh, I was impressed by her development. I think she still has that impulsive quirky side to her, the writer never took that away from her... maybe you just don't like the actress? I don't know.
