JTBC’s new fantasy-mystery series Sisyphus: The Myth, starring Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, has recently wrapped up shooting and is now moving on to its post-production phase.

Created as a special drama to celebrate JTBC’s upcoming 10th Anniversary, Sisyphus: The Myth tells the story of a genius engineer who sets out to discover the secrets about the existence of our world and his savior who goes through extreme lengths to protect him.

Renowned actor Cho Seung-woo (Stranger 2) is set to transform into the brilliant engineer Han Tae-sul, co-founder of the tech company Quantum and Time. With his incredible intelligence and unmatched coding skills, he was able to put his company among the best-ranked in the world. Owing to that, he got dubbed as a “national hero” and his company, a “South Korean miracle” in the world of science and engineering. His life takes a drastic turn, however, after the mysterious death of his brother. He stopped focusing on the company, which eventually caused its stocks to plummet. Ten years later, Tae-sul uncovers a piece of strange information about his brother’s demise and decides to delve deeper into the truth.

Meanwhile, Memories of the Alhambra actress Park Shin-hye is playing the role of Gang Seo-hae, a skilled combatant who saves Han Tae-sul from danger. A complete badass, her skills include gliding between high-rise buildings, fighting a mob of men with her bare hands, shooting with sniper rifles, and installing bombs. After spending most of her life trying to survive among gangsters and warlords, a far and dangerous road leads her to Tae-sul.

The production crew behind Sisyphus: The Myth shared, “Recently, the filming phase of Sisyphus has ended. The actors and staff did their best to create a great show that will provide satisfaction to the viewers.” On what their next steps would be, the team revealed, “From now on, we plan to focus our efforts on post-production to come up with a high-quality series. JTBC’s 10th-anniversary special drama is going to be well-made and worthy of its title.

Sisyphus: The Myth is helmed by director Jin Hyuk of the hit dramas City Hunter (2011), The Master’s Sun (2013), and The Legend of the Blue Sea (2016–2017). Co-penned by screenwriters Lee Je-in and Jeon Chan-ho, the series is slated to air in the first half of 2021.

Once in a project, this line of artists will reunite in the newest drama in 2021!

December 18, 2020
Not only is a unique story, but a drama can light up in the hearts of fans thanks to the players who are no less supportive with stunning acting. However, not a few fans felt 'sorry' for the interactions between players who did not feel that much of their attention was highlighted. But like a match, the players who have starred in a drama title below will meet again through new projects in 2021! Who are they?
Cho Seung Woo & Park Shin Hye
조승우 · 박신혜 '시지프스' 촬영 종료… 내년 상반기 시청자 찾는다 [공식]
The Korean star, who has a 10 year age difference, starred in a drama together in 2006, entitled Love Phobia. Cho Seung Woo at that time was lined up as the main character while Park Shin Hye, who was still a teenager, played the supporting role. 14 years have passed, the two of them meet again and are paired up through a drama titled Sisyphus: The Myth which tells the story of a genius engineer named Han Tae Sool who successfully builds a large company called Quantum & Time Company, but his joy disappears after he finds out the truth behind his brother's death. The drama, which has finished filming, is planned to air in the first half of next year.

Jo Seung-woo, Park Shin-hye tackle fantasy-mystery in new JTBC drama Sisyphus: the Myth

by tccolb

Jo Seung-woo, Park Shin-hye

In celebration of JTBC’s 10th anniversary next year, a special fantasy-mystery drama is being put together called Sisyphus: the Myth which stars actors Jo Seung-woo (Forest of Secrets 2) and Park Shin-hye (Memories of the Alhambra).

Jo Seung-woo plays a highly intelligent engineer named Han Tae-sool. He is one of the founders of a successful company called Quantum and Time and his developments have helped build the company to grow worldwide. Due to his innovations, he is well known and well-loved by the people of Korea. However, what they don’t know is that the company stocks have been unstable since his older brother suddenly died 10 years ago. And when Jo finally learns the truth behind his brother’s death, he embarks on a dangerous journey that will forever change his life.

Park Shin-hye takes on the role of Kang Seo-hae, who lives in the attic loft of a skyscraper in Seoul and is described as a warrior. Highly skilled in combat fighting, sniper work, and planting bombs, whether they be man or woman, gangster or warlord, she can take them down. Although we don’t yet know the reasons why, the story has her travelling far and wide in order to meet Jo Seung-woo’s character and rescue him.

I’m not sure how the original Greek legend of Sisyphus actually plays into the drama, but Jo Seung-woo is always a win. And I definitely like when Park Shin-hye plays interesting characters that are not run-of-the-mill, such as in You’re Beautiful or Flower Boy Next Door. It will be awesome to see her as a badass butt-kicking heroine who can hold her own in a fight.

On the production side, we’re in good hands with PD Jin Hyuk (Legend of the Blue Sea, Master’s Sun, City Hunter) in the director’s chair and scripts were penned collaboratively by married couple Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho.

Filming for Sisyphus: the Myth has already been completed and the show is currently in post-production. The premiere is set for early next year in 2021.

I thought I had dropped by here, but apparently not.

Waiting for these strong lead actors and the storyline. The teaser that dropped is bomb much like a hollywood production movie :)

Run On just started, so this will be on screen in 2-3 months then?
