Park Shin Hye And Cho Seung Woo Stand As Mysterious Silhouettes In A New Special JTBC Drama

Jan 01, 2021 | by RD Revez
Park Shin Hye And Cho Seung Woo Stands As Mysterious Silhouettes In A New JTBC Drama

Sisyphus: The Myth, JTBC's upcoming 10th-anniversary special drama, starring Cho Seung Woo and Park Shin Hye, has now released its first poster!

On January 1, the upcoming drama released an intriguing poster as the production team shared that the gate to 2021 has finally opened. "We have launched a poster that symbolically captures the critical message of Sisyphus: The Myth to celebrate the moment and greet the new year," they added.

The Enthralling Poster

Starring as Han Tae Sool in the fantasy-mystery drama, Cho Seung Woo takes the role of a genius engineer who embarks on a dangerous journey to bring to light hidden beings secretly residing in our world. On the other hand, Park Shin Hye is Kang Seo Hae, the savior of Han Tae Sool who has walked a long and dangerous path.

As divulged by JTBC, the characters of Sisyphus: The Myth, at some point in their lives, have asked themselves the question, "What if we could go back to the past?" According to the network, it will be turning that hypothetical into a reality.

The poster reveals its leads facing a mysterious path ablaze with blinding light. The poster elevates the question of what lies beyond and whether it is to be feared as the two silhouetted figures look out onto the time's daunting gateway.

The Intriguing Silhouettes

Kang Seo Hae is clutching a gun, as seen in the poster. She stands several steps behind Han Tae Sool. The image somehow hints at the character's mission to return to the past to save both Han Tae Sool and the world.

With the intriguing caption, "One world, two futures," it may refer to the possibility that the future may alter depending on whether Kang Seo Hae can rescue Han Tae Sool or not.

The production team further invites viewers to tune in for future updates to find out whether Tae Sool and Seo Hae will be able to open the gate to the second future after waging a fierce battle. This is in consideration that the two faces the destiny of 'one world, two futures.

The February of 2021 will be exciting as ever, with the drama premiere following the finale of JTBC's Run On.

Park Shin Hye And Cho Seung Woo Convey Their Dangerous Journey In “Sisyphus: The Myth” Posters

Park Shin Hye And Cho Seung Woo Convey Their Dangerous Journey In “Sisyphus: The Myth” Posters

Jan 8, 2021
by S. Nam

JTBC’s upcoming 10th anniversary special drama “Sisyphus: The Myth” released exciting new posters of Cho Seung Woo and Park Shin Hye!

“Sisyphus: The Myth” is a fantasy-mystery drama starring Cho Seung Woo as Han Tae Sool, a genius engineer who embarks on a perilous journey to bring to light hidden beings that are secretly residing in our world, and Park Shin Hye as his savior Kang Seo Hae, who has walked a long and dangerous path for him.

Cho Seung Woo uses his sharp and powerful gaze to dominate the intriguing fantasy mystery atmosphere created by the newly released poster. Transformed into Han Tae Sool, he looks ready to instantly sort out the mysterious figures in our world who are hiding their identities. Park Shin Hye portrays Kang Seo Hae, who returns to the past in order to save Han Tae Sool and the world from danger. Her poster reflects her character’s firm resolve to achieve this goal. The posters raise anticipation for the upcoming drama as the two leads tease the mysterious story they’ll deliver to viewers through the drama.

Furthermore, a third poster reveals the first look at the “hidden being” through a mysterious silhouette. Despite their concealed face, viewers can detect a remarkable aura from the shrouded figure, raising questions as to who could be hidden behind the haze.

Another interesting point viewers can look forward to in the upcoming drama is the glowing red sigma symbol that appears on all three of the characters. Viewers can tune in to the drama while trying to discover what the Greek letter, which is also used as a summation symbol in math, could imply in the drama.

The production team shared, “In ancient Greek, the first letter of Sisyphus is sigma. This also means that sigma represents a core focus to that extent in the world of ‘Sisyphus: The Myth.’ If you look closely, you can also find the same symbol in the drama’s logo,” raising questions about the meaning behind sigma in the drama as well as how the mysterious figure will be connected to Han Tae Sool and Kang Seo Hae.

The drama is helmed by director Jin Hyuk, who previously worked on “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” “Doctor Stranger,” “Master’s Sun,” and more. It’s penned by the writer couple Lee Jae In and Jeon Chan Ho. “Sisyphus: The Myth” will premiere in February following the conclusion of “Run On.” Check out a teaser for the drama here!

10 Dramas To Watch Out For In 2021

Joan MacDonaldContributor
I'm a journalist fascinated by Korean drama and film.

Korean dramas continue to serve up inventive storylines. In 2021 k-dramas will present a mystery set in space, a tale of time travel, a Goguryeo-era folk story, a modern-day romcom about cosmetics marketing and a super-power action story. There’s even a drama about a Korean lawyer who worked for the Mafia. With multiple imaginative stories in the works, here are more than a few that seem noteworthy. Some of these dramas have official start dates, while others hope to air some time during 2021.

Sisyphus: The Myth

Billed as JTBC's 10th Anniversary Special Drama, Sisyphus: The Myth, is scheduled to premiere in February. The title of the time travel drama refers to the Greek myth in which the arrogant general Sisyphus is punished by the gods. He must eternally roll the same boulder up a hill, so his task is always difficult and never done. Cho Seung-woo plays an engineer who tries to solve the mystery of his brother’s death. Park Shin-hye plays Kang Seo-hae. She travels back in time to help him solve the mystery. Park can be seen in the films The Call and #Alive. Cho stars in both seasons of Stranger and the film Feng Shui.
