I was kind of confused by that scene; so the ambitious guy married the cosmetics owner's pregnant daughter? so who was the father of that child? so where does revenge lady get this new daughter now? so it will be a case of adopted daughter falling in love with biological son? or we have some sort of fauxcest? and cosmetics owner is such a wily fox -- she cares least bit about how her son-in-law is breaking the law. all she cares is the bottom line. so how did she end up with a sweet daughter? maybe there is some birth secret there also? hahahaha....

 

but at least the first two eps were really fast moving and set the pace for what is to come. down the flower path looks way too boring in comparison.

Let’s try and attempt an episode recap for this drama to let people have an idea of what to expect.

 

Spoiler

 

This story takes place in a world a lot like ours but the only difference is that the law is inept in this universe and the only way for the wronged party to get justice is to tale matters into their own hands and thus take REVENGE on the people that wronged them. Will they succeed read on to find out.

 

The show starts on a dark and stormy night. We are then introduced to a female ghost running in the halls of a hospital barefooted. Her eventual destination is revealed to an incubator where a baby is inside. Poor baby is probably going to have nightmares if it ever wakes up. But just as the ghost reaches out to touch the baby it mysteriously disappears. Wait was the baby the ghost. No actually it turns out that the woman was having a nightmare and the baby disappearing wakes her up. This woman is Jung Mi-Ae (not to be confused with her previous character Mirae). Due to her nightmare she panics and wants to check on her baby but she is prevented from doing so because there is an elderly woman next to her who manages to convince her that since this is a hospital her baby is secure and that there is no place for it to go on its own. This seems to relieve her. Regardless she heads out shortly to check on her baby as visiting hours are about to start shortly.

 

While she is heading towards the area where are baby is she is bumped into by a woman that seems to be in a rush. The woman briefly apologizes to Mi-Ae and heads ahead. Mi-Ae meanwhile is left collecting some prayer beads from the floor. (they broke when they fell when Mi-Ae was bumped into by that woman.)

 

It turns out that the woman is a doctor and the reason that she was in a hurry was because a baby was in critical condition and that the other nurses over there were trying their level best to save the baby. She now tries to save the baby as well. Unfortunately, her efforts are for naught and she to is unable to save the child. She starts to panic especially when she hears a ghostly voice that informs her that she should contact him first if anything happens to the child.

 

One of the nurses that was helping her suggest that she will inform the parents of the child passing away. But the Doctor whose name is Eun Ha manages to pull rank and convince the nurse to not do anything since visiting hours are about to start soon so she would personally inform the parent. The nurse can’t argue with this logic so she leaves Eun Hu alone.

 

Once alone Eun Ha rushes to the nearby phone and contacts someone on the other end and informs them that they are in big trouble since the baby is dead now. This person turns out to be her dad and the Director of the hospital. He tells Eun Ha that no matter what she has to save the baby otherwise all their hard work and dreams will go down the drain. They might even lose their funding for improving their hospital and all. Eun Ha smartly points out to her father that she isn’t the reincarnation of Christ thus resurrecting people isn’t one of her skills. Dad simply sighs and wonders why he has an idiot for a daughter and reminds her that she needs to perform a miracle no matter what. When he realizes that his daughter isn’t getting his meaning he simply reminds her that in the same room there should be another healthy baby who was born in the same time. A simple baby switch would solve all their problems as none would be the wiser.

 

This suggestion has Eun Ha struggling with her conscience whether to do it or not. Meanwhile the two mothers are totally oblivious to all of this and are having a decent conversation with each other. Since both delivered their child at about the same time as well as the fact that they are both in incubators due to their critical condition they seem to be bonding well due to their similarities. A shame that they will later on become enemies due to the actions of others. This other mother is Yoo Kyung who comes from a well of family. We do learn a surprising fact that Mi Ae’s still hasn’t seen her doctor yet. Though the reason might be explained down the line.

 

Eun Ha finally comes to decision to switch the babies but the moment she switches the tag with Mi Ae’s baby and turns around she is shocked by something. The shock is so serious that we are all blasted into the past. A week to be exact so we get to see the pregnant mothers and all.

 

Mi-Ae is shown to be distributing some perfume samples that her husband has recently made to fellow woman in the markets who seem to like it but wonder if she will actually manage to sell them this time. She reassures the woman that it won’t be a problem since her husband is about to sign a big deal with some company. Unfortunately, things won’t go as she hopes.

 

We are then introduced to her husband who is looking after some plants in a greenhouse when he is interrupted by another fellow worker who gives him some shocking news. He shows him a newspaper which has an article of how some other company is going to launch the same product that the husband had invented by signing a contract with some foreign company and all. Naturally they wonder how this can happen since the inventor didn’t share his secret techniques with others. It is at this moment that a light bulb flashes over his head and he realizes just how that company could have stolen his research. Sometime back they had approached him to sell his research to them but he had refused. At this point there was a fire at one of his warehouses. At that point he hadn’t paid much attention to that but he now realized that the fire was clearly a diversion which they used to steal his research and to cover up its fact.

 

Naturally he is furious at this development and rushed off to confront the thieves. The thieves meanwhile are celebrating of sorts. They have just managed to convince some foreign buyers/investors to sign a contract with them. The chairwoman seems to be pleased with this deal and they are all leaving when the husband/inventor comes and confronts them and accuses them of being thieves. The foreign dealer asks what is going on so the person that stole the technology and all tries to make it seem like the inventor is a crazy person and all. But he seems to have underestimated the inventor because while he explained all this in English he probably assumed that the inventor wouldn’t know any. Unfortunately for him the Inventor knows enough English to repeat his claim. Unfortunately for him the thief still manages to make the inventor look like a madman who seems to do this at other people’s launch and all. The Foreign party shakes his head and tells the inventor that he is pathetic and moves on. Since the thief is in a high up position at the company he gets the security to get rid of the inventor or rather watch over him so that he doesn’t cause any more troubles for the time being.

 

The thief then confronts the inventor and they have a small discussion where he points out that only those with any power make all the rules and since he has no evidence regarding him stealing the technology or the fact that he set up the fire he can’t be touched. But this doesn’t seem to deter the inventor and he boldly tells him that he will discover the evidence and take him down.

 

The thief then returns to meet the Chairwoman who seems disappointed in his actions and that he has been resorting to stealing stuff etc.. It turns out that the Chairwoman is not only You Kyung’s mother but also his MiL. He certainly married well of. Regardless the Chairwoman claims that she has doubts if she should leave the company in his hands and all later on. He nevertheless manages to convince the Chairwoman that he will handle the matter regarding the inventor and all.

 

The Inventor is meanwhile having a council of war with his other workers and wondering what to do. The woman that we saw earlier in the episode that was looking after Mi Ae is more than eager to confront the thieves and beat them senseless till they return their work or admit that it was stolen. This manages to fire up the other workers as well but the inventor not only manages to calm them down but to also keep this fact from his wife atleast until she gives birth since he didn’t want her to go into shock and all. The workers manage to agree to this with great difficulty.

 

We now move to the hospital where we see Eun Ha and her father giving a review of some of the new items that the hospital is about to receive and how they will be beneficial to them to other doctors and even a few reporters seem to be in attendance. They all seem to like what they are hearing. After the conference is done the dad is giving a small interview of sorts with a reporter when Yoo Kyung spots them. Clearly they know each other so after a bit of greetings and small talk Eun Ha and Yoo Kyung head to her (Eun Ha’s) office to discuss a few more things.

 

While they discuss things Yoon Kyung comes to Eun Ha’s love life or rather lack of. We discover that Eun Ha is chasing some guy called Min Ho but he seems to be not interested in her. But she is confident that eventually he will end up marrying her whether he likes it or not. Yoon Kyung does mention that there is another guy who is actually interested in Eun Ha and thus she could always marry him. But Eun Ha is adamant in only marrying the guy she loves as it wouldn’t be great life otherwise or something dumb like that. Yoon Kyung not wanting to get into any argument with her friend leaves it at that and just wishes her luck.

 

Meanwhile Mi Ae who has had craving for some of her husband’s home cooked Kimchi Fried Rice is waiting for him to finish making it. While he is doing that she is folding cloth diapers for her future child (not sure why she doesn’t go for the modern ones perhaps she can’t afford them). Since she is totally unaware of the troubles her husband is going her future caretaker is extremely frustrated and even refuses to join them for a meal when invited by claiming that she is on a diet. Meanwhile Mi Ae is all about how their life is finally going to improve once they sign the deal with the other company. This will allow them to not only clear all their loans but also to move to a better location and give their child a better life. The husband says nothing but just cheers her up and they continue to share the meal like a happy family. Most importantly they could have a proper wedding (or perhaps they haven’t been married officially but are living together. Whatever it isn’t important)

 

Yoo Kyung also has a moment with her husband and they seem to be a lovable family atleast on face value but I have my doubts in regards to the thief’s sincerity and all. He appears to be concerned about her and inquires why she didn’t take him to the hospital and she promises to do so next time. She didn’t do it this time because she knew that he was probably busy with the launch of the new product. (clearly she to is unaware of the stolen research and all_

 

Meanwhile the inventor has finished his meal with Mi Ae and is discussing the matter with another fellow worker and what they will do next. This worker/friend is giving him information on the thief and how he suddenly rose from the ranks when he married the bosses’ daughter and therefore he is going to be dangerous since he will want to maintain his spot no matter what. At this point the Inventor gets a call from the foreign party that wants to have a word with him. I guess they got suspicious and wanted to clear up the matter before they did further deals with their new partners etc..

 

Unfortunately for the Inventor the thief gets this information as well from his trusty lackey. (wait how is this even possible. Do these people bug other people’s phones? Or do they have spies in the foreign company as well.) oh well it really doesn’t matter. The thief realizes that since the inventor called him a thief publically this made the foreign party have doubts. Regardless thief is like since I have already committed so many crimes (theft and arson) I might add another one to my resume. So he then orders his lackey/secretary to get rid of the inventor so that he can’t make it to the meeting with the foreign investor. The secretary merely nods his head in agreement and heads out. You Kyung being the filial wife comes inside the room after the entire conversation is over so she has no idea of what is still going on and offers him some juice while wondering what brought the secretary so early at their place. The thief calmly tells his wife not to worry about anything he was just there to discuss about the launch etc..

 

Inventor on the other hand prior to meeting with the foreign guy heads over to talk with a reporter that he knows and tries to convince him to take his story and publish the crimes and injustice of the people that stole his technology etc.. His friend did ask him earlier whether or not the inventor could trust the reporter since everyone would mostly take the rich peoples side even the courts. But the inventor had enough faith in the media as if even they would fail to take their side then the average person would be doomed. Fortunately for the inventory the reporter seems to agree to investigate the matter but was also curious as to why the inventor was confident that he could not only win but whether or not he even had any evidence to his claims. The inventor hands over some documents to the reporter indicating proof of some sort as for his confidence he claims that it is because he is meeting with the foreign party to try and clear up the matter. Though he does point out that they were the ones to reach out to him first and that was probably because he called the thief out in front of them. Etc..

 

Happy that his job has been done for the day he heads out for the meeting with the investor. But when he arrives out and heads for his truck some random guy in a motorcycle comes out riding and smashes his rearview mirror on the driver’s side and heads away before the inventor can catch him. The Inventor wonders what is up with the weird rider but since he has to head somewhere else he ignores it for the time being and starts to leave. Mid way the Biker returns and starts to ride infront of the inventor not giving him way, (not sure if they messed with his brakes as well) but either way in trying to avoid him the inventor ends up in an accident and is eventually rushed to the hospital.

 

Mi Ae is back to giving out samples of her husband’s product when she is nearly run over by Yoo Kyungs car. The driver tried to avoid a bicycle that had suddenly come infront of him and nearly hit Mi Ae. Fortunately, nothing happened. This is the first meeting of the two mothers and they seem to hit it of. Mi Ae seeing that Yoo Kyung is pregnant even offers her a sample of her husband’s product and tells her that even pregnant ladies like the scent and that it is safe for them to use. Yoo Kyung takes the sample and heads on to meet her husband.

 

Unfortunately for Mi Ae she receives bad news. Her future caretaker rushes over to her and informs her that her husband has been involved in an accident. Thus the two of them quickly head over to the hospital to find out the details. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get any information regarding the accident since her husband is still in surgery and the nurse tells her to wait till the operation is done and the doctors can tell her better. Thief is also informed of this news and tells the other party to keep him informed. Finally, he gets some good news and hopes that this is enough for the husband and that he doesn’t take the matter further because more people are going to get injured if he persists. Yoo Kyung arrives at this point so he doesn’t have time to muse over the matter for the time being.

 

He jokingly tells her to make an appointment next time in case he isn’t there etc. at this point Yoo Kyung suddenly remembers the free sample that she got from Mi Ae and asks Thief if any other company is also making herbal cosmetics like them. Thief becomes worried at this and inquires why she is asking but before she can tell him she suddenly has contractions and faints so she needs to be rushed to the hospital.

 

Mi Ae has finally gotten hold of the detectives handling the case and they are telling her what witness have told about the accident. But she feels things don’t match up since her husband drove on that road on a regular basis he wouldn’t make any kind of mistake or drive recklessly. As for the broken mirror she was like wait how did that happen since it was okay in the morning. This leaves the investigators to tell her that they would further need to check out the car for evidence to see who was at fault etc.. Unfortunately, her level of bad news for the day still isn’t over. Shortly after the detectives leave the doctor come out from surgery and inform her that they have good news and bad news. This being that the surgery is successful but due to the level of injury her husband is now braindead. The shock is too much for her in her current condition so she to ends up fainting. Fortunately, she is still in the hospital.

 

Mi Ae is quickly rushed off to the emergency section. Yoo Kyung has also arrived at the hospital at this time with thief and she to is rushed to the emergency section. The show then ends with both of them being raced into the emergency section at the same time. What will happen next well you will have to watch to find out.

 

As for me I probably will leave this drama here at this point. I am currently in no mood to watch a 100 - episode revenge drama with a cast I hardly know. Mi Ae is one of the few actresses that I am aware of and Thief seems to be another but other than that I am unsure if I have seen the rest or who any of the main and second leads are.

 

 

I may have missed a few details in this recap so let me apologize for that beforehand.

 

Other than that I really don’t have much to say about this drama since I will be dropping it

But what I do have to say is that I really don’t like Yoo Kyung’s family. While she herself seems to be nice I can’t say the same in regards to the others. Her husband the less said the better. He is just increasing his levels in crime. He probably should end up in jail and if he doesn’t then I would be furious. I guess him dying might also be justice but that depends on whether or not the inventor dies. As for her mother the Chairwoman she also turned out to be a disappointment. After all she was the one with the most power and thief is under her. That means she could have corrected his wrongs. An apology to inventor could have gone a long way to correct the mistake and perhaps make some sort of deal with him regarding the product and technology. So she could either cancel the deal with the foreign party or make sure the inventor shares in the profit somehow. But since she left the matter in the hands of Thief I am greatly disappointed in her, I hope she doesn’t do more bad deeds but due to this I won’t keep my hopes high,

 

Then there was this other company that Inventor was going to sign a deal with. They also decided to step back and let the inventor handle the matter on his own. I feel that if they perhaps backed him up then Thief and company probably couldn’t get away so easily. I can only assume that they didn’t do that because they were a smaller company than the company Thief works for and they were afraid of the consequences if they lost. Perhaps they should have taken a risk since the gains would probably have been worth it.

 

I can only assume that this company (thief) is going to become extremely successful due to this stolen technology and thus a reason for Mi Ae’s revenge. But other than that if we look at all their actions I can see why Mi Ae would want revenge on them. They took everything of importance from her whether it was intentional or not. They started with her husband’s precious technology which ended up in his accident (and probably death) and that wasn’t enough they even stole her baby. I suspect that if she finds out the truth and confronts them about the matter Eun Ha will make it appear that she is talking in grief and can’t accept the loss of her child and is accusing Yoo Kyung and family for stealing her child. I would normally suggest that a simple DNA test could resolve the problem but in this case it won’t work since the hospital is in on this scam and they are the ones responsible for the switch. So they will probably give false results to prove her wrong if it ever comes to a test. This is one of the reasons why I feel bad for the friendship between the two mothers going bad.

 

Regardless of this I guess her perfect revenge would be if it is her blood that takes over the company and the other party is totally unaware of this fact. Karma will probably come full circle but from the way of the description of this drama she probably is going to cause her own set of problems by trying to take down her own son since she won’t be aware of the truth and try and place her adopted daughter in the throne. She will probably try and make the daughter pretend to fall in love with the son and then divorce him but not before he hands over everything to her. But this plan is going to get complicated when the daughter actually falls in love with the son. Ha double Karma coming back to her.

PS on a side note someone mentioned Heavens Promise and Wang Bit Na I think that they are confusing her for the other actress. As far as I recall Heavens Promise had Lee Yuri and Park Hana in it. In Mysterious Personal Shopper on the other hand we had Park Hana and Wang Bit Na. So did they mean both the dramas or just one of them. A common mistake since both these shows had Park Hana in them. not that it is important. anyway ending my post here. Sure @nohamahamoud2002 you don't want to stick around. We were talking about female villains. All three of those actresses played protagonists and villains at one point, excluding Ms. Wang. I was hoping that she'd be in this drama, as a main character rather than a villain, since she gets typecasted a lot.

Ah thankyou for explaining that to me. Yes that makes more sense. Perhaps the writers didn't want Wang Bit Na to be Mi Ae's daughter again (Mysterious Personal Shopper). But it might have indeed been interesting to see her play said role.. But to be honest I don't think that I am ready to see her as a Female Lead in a Revenge Drama. (personally that is just my opinion) I have nothing against the actress as she does seem to be quite good with what she gets. if anyone is to blame it probably is the writer or someone in the prop department (yes I am still talking about all those gun scenes from Mysterious Personal Shopper for one. Had a few other issues but let it go for now) Instead I wouldn't mind seeing her play the female lead in a Rom Comedy show. if she can have a funny character like her role in Five Enough but instead of a supporting character she is the main lead I feel that she can do that very well. But I guess she will have to at some point take a main lead role in a revenge drama so she should start some time soon and I should prepare myself for that.

Thankyou for the nice compliment. Flattery will get you almost every time. The main reason that I wanted a break from Revenge Dailies is due to lack of time. Am probably already watching to many dramas that are good for me. That is the reason why I want to take a break. but is seems like there isn't much traffic on this thread so I will try and see what I can do till we get more posters here.

 

So I guess now is the time for me to quickly watch the episodes that I have missed to see what is happening here. fortunately we aren't that far ahead that I can't catch up. Wish me luck.

yea, even the reporter, who was having a moment of conscience, looks like he is selling her out in order to get his dream girl, the doctor lady. since everyone has convinced her to let the baby go, she will as she is kind of busy focused on her comatose husband. since it is given that she will be going to jail, am wondering on what charges she will end up there...

Funny how no one is being compassionate towards Mi Yun, not even Yoon Kyung.  You'd think she would at least show graciousness considering she felt bad for Mi Yun as a woman.  

 

That reporter is just thinking with his richard simmons.  We all know he just warned the doctor at dinner that he will be an awful husband when he said he threw guilt out when he decided to be with her.

 

More thoughts: do you think she will finally go to jail tomorrow, and for how long? I wonder how long it will take in prison and if she will find the fake daughter as anothet prisoner's baby there or what?

yamiyugi Your recap reminds me of another drama, but at my current mental state, it will probably take a few days to remember the name of it. 

 

I began this drama with reasonably normal blood pressure. It's starting to spike after watching what this poor woman is going through. I wish I could follow my own advice which is to SA & SS (stay away & stay sane). Let's see if she goes to jail. There will then probably be a time jump (she'll have to acquire a daughter & money). Then we're in for a wild ride.

 

There was a drama that had a step-mom or mistress that used a girl to seek revenge & that girl turned out to be her own daughter. Can't think of the name of that one either, but it's a thought.

this woman should stop dreaming, hahahaha.... seriously, she basically dreams of something and it happens. she dreams of an empty crib and her baby disappears (believed to be dead). she dreams her husband dies and the guy dies after waking up. she has no idea that he got murdered but walks like a ghost in her white funeral hanbok and scares the receptionist in J cosmetics. nice cosmetics daughter is compassionate enough to listen but also very practical -- asks mi yun to get proof before she goes around making accusations.

 

does anyone else think the reporter guy is possibly decades younger than doctor lady? I feel like she always has so much makeup on which seems strange for doctor work? hahahahah.... he says that he has thrown out his conscience and guilt just so he can manipulate doctor lady into marrying him. he also intends to be friends with J cosmetics family now that he is marrying into the doctor's family.

 

so basically you have 2 sets of dads in the older generation who will do anything for love and ambition. so we should expects lots of back stabbing. meanwhile, we have ladies who feel trapped in their circumstances but keep moving forward. so expect bitterness and spite? actually don't think mi yeon needs to do that revenge. both the set of dads seem ruthless fellows who will make their families unhappy anyway....

 

@tulip06 ~ we finally get the answer regarding the dead baby; basically the boyfriend died and the employee thought "aha, here's my chance to get rich and climb the ladder" and agreed to marry the J cosmetics daughter. it is why the old lady chairman basically orders him not to have anymore kids. guess she fears he will cut out and steal the company? it makes me think that he will have mistress somewhere who will pop out some kids...

Right, so Mi Yun is finally in jail and denied all visitation. It felt like forever to get here. And they didn't drag out her time there, which I appreciate a lot. It means she will get straight to her revenge plans. We all want to see those.

 

But how can she and jailbird friend go to Canada if they are convicts?

Right, so Mi Yun is finally in jail and denied all visitation. It felt like forever to get here. And they didn't drag out her time there, which I appreciate a lot. It means she will get straight to her revenge plans. We all want to see those.

 

But how can she and jailbird friend go to Canada if they are convicts?

This drama is shaping up to be interesting. No dragging now but I'm not sure about later lol.

 

I'm surprised they didn't go to the USA lol. For the sake of the plotline, I'll just pretend that the Canadian immigration were really lazy back in the days lol.
