@yamiyugi thank you for indulging us with your fun recaps. Yes, I see how Baby Face isn’t cheating exactly, but he is waffling, as @Lmangla says, and it’s aggravating everyone, inside and outside the drama.

 

everytime I think I’m going to drop this show, it gets fun with the craziness. Guess I’m in.

Okay folks let’s see what fine mess the characters get in episode 24 and how much of an idiot they all are.

 

So here comes the recap for this episode.

A smug Eun Ha thinks that she finally has the upper hand in getting Janice to back down and stop seeing Baby Face. She threatens to find Janice’s mother and report to her that her daughter is busy stealing other people’s men and embarrass her with this fact and if that fails she will let the entire overseas Koreans in Canada be aware of this fact thus increasing the entire families embarrassment. Janice calmly points out to her that since they are both adults they should try and resolve the matter between themselves and that her mother shouldn’t be dragged into this. Eun Ha disagrees with this fact and blames her mother for her poor upbringing. Janice simply informs her at this point that regardless of her mother’s choices she still isn’t going to break up with Baby Face. Eun Ha realizes at this point that more drastic measures are required to get rid of Janice and recalls what Sera told her about Janice being claustrophobic and decides to use this. She outright tells her that it seems like death is the only way that she will leave Baby Face and death is far easier. She then agrees to do that and leaves. (so wait does Janice have hearing problems as well that she can’t tell a threat or thinks that she is invincible so they don’t apply to her). We can clearly tell that even this encounter with Eun Ha is extremely stressful for Janice who has been holding it in.

 

As for Eun Ha the moment she leaves the room she contacts her husband and demands that he does a thorough background check on Janice. He wonders what is up with this strange request so she simply informs him that since Janice isn’t planning on leaving peacefully she is going to force her by having her embarrassed by the Korean community in Canada so they need to lactate her mother ASAP to do this.

 

Baby Face has just informed Sera that Janice just so happens to be the mystery girl from three years ago and his first love. Sera at first is shocked to discover this fact but then assumes that he probably is lying to her to back down from her wish to marry him. So he is forced to reveal that this isn’t the case and that he too was initially confused when he saw Janice after all these years since she initially denied who she was when she met him again but he realized that she only did that because she discovered that he was engaged to her. But now that he knows her real reason and that she still harbors the same feeling as him he wants to be with her and not leave her. Sera is naturally extremely frustrated to hear this and claims that if Janice was going to play the denial game she should have continued to do so till the end and not admit this fact. Sera wonders where Janice was for all this time but Baby Face feels that isn’t important and that while he initially tried to lie to himself that he didn’t care about her and thus tried to agree to marrying her he realized that it wasn’t fair for any of them and thus he only wants to be with Janice know. He now wants to be free of the burden known as Sera. She is clearly hurt by all this and refuses to budge from her point that he should be with her. She even tries to emotionally blackmail him by wondering if he doesn’t care about her and would be okay with her dying since he is fully aware that she can’t live without him. While he doesn’t want her to die he still can’t accept her as wife material. Sera this times tries a frontal hug. Perhaps she hopes that he can feel her heartbeat and think that it matches the same rhythm as hers and have a change of heart. (like Dr. Stranger from what I have heard). Unfortunately, she has no such luck.

 

Mi Yun is at the hospital where the nurse is hospitalized and wants to check up on her but before she goes in she contacts Janice to know what happened to the meeting and is concerned that Eun Ha may have hit her again. Janice reassures her that she is fine and while she expected Eun Ha to perhaps lose her cool and douse her with water but she even didn’t do that. Mi Yun is glad to hear that but warns her that since Eun Ha is desperate she may try something more drastic down the line so she should never lower her guard. Janice clearly thinks that her god mode cheat is working so she tells her that Eun Ha can bring it on any time because she will then teach her a lesson. Mi Yun just tells her to be careful and gives her some good news. Apparently Janice has to just hold on a bit longer since she has managed to convince Yoo Kyung to temporarily back down and she will try and do the same for Eun Ha as well. Janice seems to like the idea of having a small break from all these crazy ladies taking a swing at her.

 

Sera rightfully points out to Baby Face that since he had promised to marry her he shouldn’t have been swayed no matter what happened and who appeared. She feels like he has betrayed both the families (including her) for some crazy first love that only lasted for one day and points out just how wrong this is for all parties involved. His actions are those of a jerk and she never realized he could be one nor him treating her like this. Baby Face agrees that he is a major jerk but he still wants to be with Janice and he will gladly accept any punishment in return. Sera simply doesn’t get what he sees in Janice when she herself has so much more to offer. Janice is sure like the rest of us that he has lost her mind and no matter what kind of wailing or beating him up does he simply isn’t ready to change his mind. She is about to give up when she spots the porridge that he prepared over her. Wait don’t tell me she is planning on poking her eyes out with the spoon or stabbing herself with that. Oh wait that would probably be to gory for such a viewer rating. Turns out that she really needs to release her stress with her latest hobby throwing down things that aren’t bolted down in one place. She ends up doing that to the porridge and all that is on the table. Sigh what a waste of good food. He tries to calm her down but she isn’t having any of that and this time she is the one that pushes him away and heads to her room to sort out all that she has just discovered. It is Baby Faces time to be frustrated. He must be wondering why he is still alive when he has to deal with all this girl troubles.

 

Once Sera arrives in her room she tells herself that she can never let Baby Face go no matter what and it doesn’t matter even if a 100 past girlfriend’s pop up to try and reclaim him. She decides to try and take some preventive steps so that he would be forced to marry her. So she contacts the people incharge of her e-wedding invitations and asks that they be sent to her if they are done. Baby Face on the other hand is attempting to pick up the mess that Sera has just made when Eun Ha finds him like that. She instantly figures out that he must have had a fight with Sera and over what and that makes her mad. She asks him what he is doing and why he didn’t pay heed to her earlier advice. He tries to let her know that he is simply trying to clean up another fine mess that Sera has just done. She is ready to give him a piece of her mind but Sera comes to his rescue and tries to calm her mother down. Sera who has had enough of this family drama tells him to leave for now as she needs to process and recover from the shock of the past few days. Baby Face simple leaves her just informing her that he will call her at a later date.

Even Eun Ha thinks that he is a jerk at this point. She still has enough concern for her daughter that she tells her to get another drip after lunch and rest some more. But Sera has more important things to tell her such as Janice being the mystery girl from three years back. Eun Ha is also taken aback by this information and thinks that perhaps she got the information wrong until Sera points out that she got it right from the source itself namely Baby Face. Eun Ha also thinks that perhaps he was lying to get Sera to back off. So Sera tells her that was what she thought as well initially but now she is sure that it is true. This makes Eun Ha connect a few dots and realize why Janice was so confident earlier about not backing down from being with Baby Face. She was counting on that connection and meeting with him since she was sure he wouldn’t leave her. Eun Ha is so mad that Baby Face and Janice kept this fact from them and had been duping them for so long. She now regrets heeding Mi Yun’s advice and she should have gotten physical with her. Sera on the other hand is more interested in knowing Janice’s response to her mother’s suggestion. Only to be disappointed to hear that she has officially decided to throw her name in the cap to win Baby Faces heart and not back down. Eun Ha realizes this so reassures her that no matter what she will ensure that he marry her and to this end her father is doing a background check into Janice so that they can embarrass her mother through the Overseas community in Canada thus they would have no place to hide their faces. Sera seems to like this idea.

 

Inchul is now busy following is wife’s request that he has gotten his trusty assistant to do such a search on the down low. But he needs to do it quickly because they are running out of time. The assistant agrees to this.

 

Mi Yun has finally gotten a chance to meet the nurse who is still in her drugged up state. Mi Yun tries to get through to the nurse and feels that she is partially successful until she mentions her baby. At this point the nurse ends having another one of her strokes that the nurse has to ask her to leave and wonders what could have been the trigger. Clearly TV isn’t the only factor. Mi Yun’s assistant wonders the same thing. Mi Yun realizes that the nurse was fine till her child was mentioned so she is sure that there is more to her child’s death but since she has patiently waited for 30 years a bit more time isn’t going to make much difference in discovering the truth. Her assistant seems to agree and reassures her that they will get to the bottom of this.

 

Yoo Kyung is back from the Shaman and she has managed to purchase a talisman from her in the hopes that it will be successful in warding of Janice from her son so that he will snap back to his senses and return to Sera. As usual she tries to hide it inside his pillow case. Though while doing so she recalls the advice the Shaman gave her. She clearly thinks that the Shaman is losing her touch. Unfortunately she doesn’t seem to realize that this Shaman is the real deal and her predictions are spot on. She stated that the one (and not Neo from The Matrix) for her son is Janice and Sera is at most like a sister (I wonder if she means to the both of them [Janice and Baby Face] or just one of them). regardless of the Shaman’s prediction she is still against Janice being the chosen one. (Wait does this mean that Yoo Kyung will demand a refund for her talisman not working as advertised). She also seems to be offended that the Shaman thought that she was raising somebody else’s son.

 

At this point she goes down when she is informed by her maid that Eun Ha has come to see her. Yoo Kyung tells the maid to prevent her from entering till she has properly prepared herself. She then quickly wears the white headband of power that all these drama mothers do when one of their kids cause some kind of major problems for them and demand to go on strike till they come back to their senses. Eun Ha enters the house and notes this but doesn’t believe in Eun Ha panicking like that. She wonders what kind of actions Eun Ha is taking to ensure that Baby Face will get back on the marriage wagon. Yoo Kyung proudly informs her that she has gotten an expensive talisman from a trusted and respected Shaman which is bound to work (after all the old is gold and old ways must rule). Unfortunately for her Eun Ha is part of the newer generation that believes in science and not this kind of hocus pocus and she lets Yoo Kyung know this and tells her that she needs to take more drastic methods to deal with this problem. She also reminds her that this marriage isn’t as simple as she thinks but instead a business marriage as well and if this doesn’t go as planned then she should be prepared to suffer the consequences. When Yoo Kyung asks for clarification Eun Ha informs her that she knows where the skeletons are buried and in which closets for her company. Yoo Kyung has no idea what she is still speaking about and wonders if perhaps her mother did something bad. So Eun Ha merely gives her a hint by pointing out that the guilty party was her husband and not her mother and that he is back to his old tricks of stealing other people’s inventions and hard work and if she wants clarification she should go straight to the source. Yoo Kyung points out that someone did indeed claim this but since they had a lack of evidence they dropped all charges. This makes Eun Ha wonder if Yoo Kyung was playing dumb or actually oblivious to everything. Regardless they come to the agreement that Yoo Kyung should deal with Baby Face while she would deal with Janice. She also reminds and warns her of the consequences of failing. Yoo Kyung clearly doesn’t like being threatened and wonders what is wrong with Eun Ha. Ah right Eun Ha was also mad at Yoo Kyung for concealing the fact that Janice was the mystery girl from three years back and wonders if she did that on purpose. Her ire isn’t fully soothed even after finding out that Yoo Kyung also found out this fact recently. She also doesn’t seem to care about this fact and all that matters to her is that the marriage goes through at all costs.

 

Mi Yun has now gone over to J Thief who is extremely happy to see her. She volunteers to help him out with his current family problem and he is more than ready to accept it. Since he isn’t smart enough to come up with a plan on his own he relies on others. She advices him that the best way to get rid of her would be to fire her since this way she won’t be near Baby Face and he will eventually forget her and return to Sera. He likes the sound of this. But to do this they need a genuine reason. She initially comes up with that they should fire her on the basis that they hired her to do marketing for the company and not break up someone else’s marriage so this is a breach of contract. (really had me laughing so hard that I might have required stitches. This dumb plan). J Thief likes this. But Mi Yun only points out that isn’t sufficient and they need something more drastic like perhaps getting her fired over something more serious like theft. He is so impressed by this that he instantly contacts the accounting department so that they can work on something to make it look like she embezzled company funds. Mi Yun just watches him in satisfaction since he is leading himself to his own doom without even realizing it.

 

Sera is preparing herself for war. She plans to use every weapon at her disposal. She recalls how a few episodes back Janice had a panic attack when they were stuck in the elevator and she hopes that she won’t have to use it if her current plan works.

 

Janice on the other hand who is totally oblivious of all this is discussing her meeting (regarding Eun Ha) with Janice. She has figured out that she is planning on doing a background check on her and Mi Yun to track them down and try and embarrass them through this way to back down from Baby Face. Glad to see that she is smart enough to figure that out since they probably didn’t have any spy cams in the hallway that Eun Ha made that phone call to her husband. Danny wonders if this means that they should use equally drastic methods by trying to embarrass them by releasing her recording with Sleazebag where he admitted that he did everything at the behest of Sera. She points out that won’t be sufficient to take care of this problem. Danny is worried about the possible harassment that she may face from the company workers (in regards to her chasing Baby Face). She reassures him that she will be fine and that it won’t look good on her resume. He jokes that shouldn’t really matter since this is just a pit stop. At this point Baby Face joins them. Clearly these two men put out the caveman vibe and try to claim Janice for themselves. This might have gone on for longer if Janice and Baby Face weren’t interrupted by a message on their phones. Turns out that it is the wedding invitation for his marriage with Sera.

 

Club Janice (board of directors) are meeting with J Thief and her initially congratulating him on the success of the Detox line when they also get the wedding invitation. So they start congratulating him in regards to this as well. He is totally surprised to hear this as he wasn’t brought in the loop but he is savvy enough to play along and agrees that the marriage is still on track and that anything regarding Janice and Baby Face was a false rumor.

 

The only one displeased by this stunt is Baby Face. He demands that his assistant remove the message/invitation from all the company boards including any congratulatory message as well. This puzzles the assistant since this would have resolved all the rumors that were going on at that time. But after getting an earful decides that is the best course of action.

 

Sera’s team are also discussing this new development and wonder if perhaps there was no truth in the initial rumors and seem to think that is the case since those two were each other’s first love so it wouldn’t be easy for an outsider to crash the party and break it up or stuff like that. At this point Sera enters the office and they all seem to congratulate her as well in regards to her upcoming wedding. She likes it and thinks that her plan is going well.

 

J Thief has a meeting with Janice and clearly plans on getting rid of her the easy way at first. He tells her that she should cancel of the TV Show that she and Baby Face show up on as it would announce to the world that they are cheating with each other. He wonders why she showed up all of a sudden and all she can do is apologize about it. He then uses Mi Yun’s initial excuse to fire her regarding it as a contract violation. She refuses to accept his offer. He now knows that he has to take the next part of Mi Yun’s offer into consideration to get rid of her. Sera choses this moment to make an appearance and he pretends to forget about Janice for the time being. He starts to congratulates her on the wedding invitations and all. He also tries to reassure her that no matter what he is going to ensure that Baby Face pops up for the wedding even if he has to break his legs and carry him down the aisle. They have more talk which I won’t bore you with. Janice is clearly getting bored by this and excuses herself. J Thief only pretends to notice that she hasn’t left so tells her to do so. Sera thinks that she has the upper hand finally.

 

As she comes down from her meeting with J Thief she bumps into Baby Face who seems concerned about her getting hurt like that from the news of the wedding invitation that he promises her that he is already working on removing the invitations and publically announcing that the wedding is off. He will also deal with his family in regards to this. She points out that his father wants them to cancel the TV Show. He promises to deal with that as well. Things would go on like this till she points out that Sera is busy gloating about all this with J Thief. This gets him to get a move on.

 

As for Sera she just finds out that even Mi Yun is apparently backing her and that even she suggested that they fire Janice. J Thief tells her to hold on a bit longer as everyone is on her side and wants to get rid of Baby Face. She likes this but again points out that a marriage can’t take place without a groom and if he doesn’t say I Do the marriage won’t take place. J Thief tells her that it is only for a short while but he is handling the situation and his son isn’t an idiot who would still want to be with a thief (embezzling the company funds). Sera seems to think that this just might work. Even she is all about how this marriage must work as this is great for the two families and all. J Thief is clearly getting tired of being constantly reminded of this fact but agrees with her regardless. Sera still doesn’t want to take any chances with things going wrong so she decides to ask J Thief for a favour. But before he hears what it is Baby Face barges in. he gets a reprimand for being rude like that but Baby Face doesn’t care as he has more important things to discuss about.

 

Turns out that he is here to let them know that he intends to remove the wedding invitation and that regardless of this her (Sera) plan won’t work since he still has no intention of marrying her even if he were to face embarrassment. She doesn’t want to hear any of that and tells him that marriage is a two person job so he can’t end it on his own. She gets back to her initial offer that he can keep Janice as his mistress but he still has to marry her. That offer goes as well as expected by the two men. He refuses as usual. J Thief on the other hand is outraged at it and tries to calm her down and beat some sense into Baby Face. Baby Face realizes by this point that these people here have trouble comprehending basic thigs and no matter what he says or does they won’t get it. So he simply announces that he intends to announce to everyone that they broke of their engagement. This way they would be forced to accept his choice. He then leaves the office to get to work on that. The remaining two are stupefied at all that they are hearing and think that he must have lost his marbles. Sera points this out to J Thief. He simply points out that they simply have to find them and put them back in his head and then the entire matter will be resolved. He then asks for the favour that she asked earlier. To which she lets him know that she wants him to send Janice to her mother’s clinic just before she ends her day but to keep this as a secret from others. He doesn’t get it but agrees to do so.

 

Eun Ha has a meeting with Mi Yun when she receives a call from Sera. Sera informs her that the time has finally come for drastic measures to get rid of Janice since Baby Face has declared to them that he plans on announcing the cancelation of the wedding. Mi Yun plans on heading back to the clinic. But Sera warns her not to do so since she can then claim Plausible Deniability if she is confronted. She just needs to pave the way for Sera who will get her hands dirty by giving the staff an early day off including the technicians over there as well. Eun Ha agrees to these terms. J Thief sends Janice over at the allotted time to Eun Ha’s clininc.

 

Mi Yun and Eun Ha are back to discussing the matter related to Janice. Mi Yun pretends to be on her side as usual and tells her that she has suggested a way to J Thief to get rid of Janice. Eun Ha appears grateful to hear this. Eun Ha is still mad at the both of them especially since she likes to bring up the card that she saved Baby Faces life when he was a baby. Mi Yun wants an elaboration of this. Eun Ha gives her the usual spiel. Since it is repetitive won’t go into it. Eun Ha points out that since she lost Yura she won’t let her other daughter suffer as she is her only lifeline. Thus anyone that makes her daughter must suffer the consequences. Mi Yun aggress with this.

 

Janice has shown up for her meeting with Eun Ha only to be informed that she can’t do so since she didn’t have an appointment and that Eun Ha isn’t there at the moment even though she informs that she was sent under the instructions of J Thief. The staff contacts Eun Ha only to be informed that she doesn’t plan on coming till the next day so Janice should leave and do the same. Next time Janice should make an appointment and learn basic business etiquettes. Janice has no choice but to leave.

 

As for the phone call that Eun Ha had in regards to report that Janice was there. Mi Yun overhears that and wonders what Janice was doing there. Eun Ha pretends to play dumb and has no idea why she would be there. Mi Yun does offer her any help that she may require to get rid of Janice since she hates people that abuse their power and position. Eun Ha gratefully accepts it but tells her that for now she has things under control.

 

Now back to Janice. She is patiently waiting for the elevator to come. What she doesn’t know is that Sera is doing the exact same thing in the control room. The moment Janice enters the lift Sera shuts down the power trapping her inside. This starts to trigger her panic attack and she barely holds on enough to contact Danny and inform him of her predicament. Naturally he starts to worry about her and uses all means necessary to track her down even contacting Baby Face to help in the search. Baby Face gets right down to it. He gets his assistant to locate her as well trying to find out on his own.

 

Eun Ha has just informed Mi Yun of her intention to track down Janice’s mother in Canada and have them ostracized by the expat Korean community in Canada by revealing what Janice has been upto. To this extent she feels like Mi Yun with her connections could perhaps do a faster job in locating said person. Mi Yun agrees to help her as usual. Mi Yun still tells her that she should have some sort of backup if Baby Face insists of breaking up his marriage. Eun Ha reassures her that she already has one up her sleeve but she wants to use it as a last resort but hopes that doesn’t happen. This piques Mi Yun’s curiosity. Unfortunately, she has to wait for the surprise like the rest of them since Eun Ha refuses to divulge said information at present but given time she will do so. Mi Yun has to be satisfied with this for the time being. Eun Ha leaves in a good mood finally glad that things may be going her way. Unfortunately for Mi Yun the moment she leaves her assistant rushes in informing her that Janice is trapped in some elevator somewhere and that Danny is frantically searching for her. Mi Yun is concerned to hear this. The episode ends with a view of Janice trapped in said elevator.

 

 

Now on to some points regarding the episode.

Finally, another person has discovered the fact that Janice was the mystery woman of three years back. Now the only people in the dark are people from Janice’s side of the family and Inchul. But I suspect that he is going to be in the loop by the next episode.

 

Then we have the most absurd reason to fire Janice from the company. In reality I doubt that would be even a cause. If she is doing her job well the company can’t easily fire her. Also breach of contract is equally absurd which company has a clause like that. We know for a fact that ever since she joined the company it has been getting a lot of profit so one can’t argue that it was a breach of contract. Now let’s say she was found giving away company trade secrets then it would be a different matter. Firing her on breaking up a marriage has other issues such as perhaps people are uncomfortable working with her or her damaging company morale then they could perhaps use this as an excuse but not the current one that the writer gave. As I mentioned earlier I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all.

 

People have brought up why Mi Yun may have brought up the fact that they attempt to fire her by framing her for embezzlement. In an earlier post I gave a reason which may still be possible but I know recall another reason why it may be possible as well. For her it might very well be personal. Remember when she was sent to prison earlier she was also charged with embezzlement then. Since she wants all the people that wronged her to be punished in a similar way it would be quite possible to use this method. If she gains something out of it all the better.

 

As for Sera I guess we should welcome her to the family club of committing crimes and all. Previously she had issues but she never really crossed the line. (as far as we know). But now her intent to trap Janice in the lift was clearly meant to hurt her. More so considering that Janice’s life is in danger. They should probably charge her with that if they can get their hands on any evidence proving this.

 

Speaking of crimes, we now have Eun Ha resorting to attempted blackmail of Yoo Kyung and J Thief. A shame that Yoo Kyung is still as oblivious as ever of the past.

 

Then we have J Thief promising that he will ensure that no matter what happens he will get Baby Face down the aisle. Like I said it still won’t matter unless he says I Do. They probably might need to drug him with halucigens that he thinks that he is seeing Janice instead of Sera if they want this marriage to go through. Otherwise I doubt that any sane person would allow this to go through.

 

As for Sera I kind of do feel bad that she is getting rejected at this point. She does have a point that he shouldn’t have agreed to marry her if he didn’t feel the same way. It was like giving her false hope and then snatching it away at the last moment. Another way to see it would be like to think of a man dying of thirst in the dessert. Only for him to spot an oasis close by. But when he arrives there he discovers that it was only a mirage. The same principle applies here. Atleast in those other dramas that we watch the love is generally one sides and the main lead never promises to marry the second lead since they are in love with someone else. There was an exception to one show which I have extremely disliked by the way. That writer has gone on in my ban list.

 

Eun Ha has openly declared war on Yoo Kyung and her family or close to it. Since she has warned them if the marriage doesn’t go through they will become sworn enemies. Good luck in that department. also the part where I missed it in my recap (it gets hard to keep track of these things and the order that they appear in. my bad) where Yoo Kyung wonders whether or not Sera actually loves Baby Face and Eun Ha is that he might frame her in the future and how he is the perpetrator and Sera is the victim. I am now agreeing with people that he made a mistake by not revealing her actions to his parents. Eun Ha has already taken advantage of this face. For instance, I feel that he will indeed try to reveal this fact to his mother atleast. But since he didn’t do it earlier she is going to remember Eun Ha’s words and think that he is framing Sera. So it will probably backfire on him. One can say that Janice has a recording of Sleazebag admitting to all of this but Eun Ha can simply point out that he was lying as well since he was dating Janice he would say anything to please her or something to that extent. What Janice and her team need at this point is a confession straight from the horses (ahem Sera’s) mouth. Only then can the matter be successfully resolved. I doubt that Sera will make that mistake at this point.

 

 

I will end my post at this point for the time being. Since I am travelling today I have to finalize some of my packing and all. So take care all of you. Naturally this means that we won’t have another recap today. My apologies. Will try to get one as soon as possible but can’t promise when since I might be tired when I arrive and all. ep 26 thoughts ~ so this is a one + one offer from sera -- two murder attempts in one episode! does anyone else get why hae joon is keeping quiet and is not revealing that his ex-fiance has a bit of a murderous rage. am sure his parents, especially yoo kyung, would react differently if they knew about her rages.

 

danny successfully deflects hae joon from entering the room by sharing that it was J thief who ordered janice to go to the clinic and he thinks it was a collaborative effort that included eun ha and sera. hae joon can't process and just goes home quietly. he finds sera pretending to sleep. not sure why anyone buys her acting skills but they do. the poor guy can't even relax in his own room and has to go to the guest room to sleep. only in the middle of the night, he finds sera crawled in beside him. when he rejects her, she flips as usual. he offers to drop her home -- why hae joon why? is there courtesy required for an ex, especially one who is unstable? why not call a cab? what do folks think? @tulip06 @chococarmela @yamiyugi @Sota Baka and anyone else watching? anyway, he is trying to drive her back home and she decides that if she has to die, then he will too and tries to crash the car. does hae joon have any words to say about that? nope!

 

the next day, he decides to post a message on the bulletin board that the engagement has been called off. while he couldn't find any outside evidence, he ends up seeing his dash cam recording that shows sera's car passing by the clinic at the same time he was there. enraged at the message, sera as usual attacks janice first by trying to strangle her. janice pushes her away and then says "murder attempt #2"? sera is shocked that janice figured her out. does sera think she is genius killer?

 

meanwhile danny has gotten a hold of a recording between philip and sera. guess sleazy didn't just meet sera but he recorded their meeting as well. can I just say I like philip so much more than hae joon?

 

sera then decides the next step is to talk to yoo kyung and imply they slept together but he called out janice name instead. the preview looks like yoo kyung and J thief rejecting sera. wondering whether hae joon finally opened his mouth. can someone explain to me why he feels the need to protect murderous sera but not janice his so called thunderbolt love from 3 years ago? and how did people find the psychological threats from miyun of eun ha? wasn't sure whether to laugh when eun ha and inchul find a bloody mannequin in their garage.

the wasp nest is the perfect description for sera. kekeke... what I don't get is why hae joon seems to be unaware that his ex is a psycho. other drama leads swiftly cut clingy second leads and don't give them the time of day. this guy is so gentle that it feels like he still loves sera on some level. so he is giving sera a bit of a whiplash with his reactions.

@tulip06 Thanks for your concern. I not only safely arrived here but I managed to give everyone at home a great surprise including my father since it was his birthday. as well. unfortunately what I didn't count on was my nephews hogging my PC the entire time. I guess this means that my recaps might need to stop or be delayed depending on the situation here. sorry about that. I hope to atleast keep abreast of this drama if possible so I will have a good idea of what's happening.

 

@Lmangla lets not be surprised by anything that Baby Face does at this point. we have pretty much declared him a dunce. He can't see things that are in front of him nor is he willing to question them at times even when others point it out to him. Such as people have pointed out to him numerous times that Janice isn't right for him and if she actually cared for him why did she appear now. Even if we assume that she left in a hurry due to her brother shouldn't she have tried to find a way to get in touch with him later on. She claims that she couldn't do that since she lost his number/phone but I am sure that there could have been other ways to find out his identity and contact him then. people have also pointed out that ever since they met he has been getting into numerous accidents and he just passes them of as such. Never questioning the timing regarding them as well and the biggest issue is that he can't recognize the same person when they are wearing glasses and not. But at other times this guy can be extremely perceptive such as realizing that the Detox Inventor had someone backing him up. But even then you can be sure that he will be an idiot to not prepare for any countermeasures regarding it.

 

In regards to him treating Sera like that even after breaking up with her (atleast in the ones that I watched such as making porridge for her) I can give him a sort of pass. For years he has been doing that to her and probably thinks of her as his little sister. This means that turning of his emotions like that and stop caring for her in any ways might be difficult for him at this point.

ep 27 thoughts ~ yoo kyung is the queen! omo, loved how regal she is when she is mad. no one can sway her.

 

 yoo kyung gets the philip-sera recording from danny. she is totally shocked and goes to see hae joon. he seems to think that sera's behaviour is his fault -- not sure if that is an acceptable reason for keeping quiet about her being crazy but like @yamiyugi said, we shouldn't be surprised at the weird pathways of baby face's brain. yoo kyung on the other hand has more brains and puts two and two together. she finally gets why he called off the engagement. her head is spinning when she realizes that sera's story about hae joon crawling into her bed was also another lie. at this point, she decides that sera cannot be trusted at all and there is definitely no marriage.

 

sera is in a happy space in her office when she hears yoo kyung has come to see hae joon. she assumes that hae joon will be scolded and wants to see the fun. however, at the office, she is stunned to get the cold shoulder from yoo kyung and she can't understand why. hae joon then has to break the news that she knows about philip. instead of mad, hae joon just looks sad when he tells about philip. perhaps if he got mad like yoo kyung queen bee, then she would know the relationship is over.

 

given how sympathetic he acts, she thinks that he is gullible. sera insists that she is being framed and runs to J thief's office. it was such a sight to see yoo kyung sitting like a queen in the sofa interrogating sera. finally she gets fed up of sera's voice and plays the recording. J thief tries to defend sera but yoo kyung will not budge. she is not bothered about who sent her the recording but knows it is the truth. knowing the game is up, sera gets on her knees and tries to do an emotional routine but yoo kyung simply waltzes out of the room like an angry queen. J thief tells her to leave for now and runs behind his queen. sera then slips back into her crazy mode but a part of her can't help but mull over yoo kyung's calm words -- sera does not love hae joon at all -- and is forced to ask the existential question "what is love?" since that requires brains, she lets danny kent tag along to give her his jedi wisdom. why does danny kent keep showing up in the lobby at the weirdest of times? does danny kent wait for sad spaced out sera to appear? how does he know?

 

meanwhile, hae joon decides to use his dash cam as a chess advantage and asks eun ha to stop sera. but why does he look like he is apologizing? he obviously hasn't watched enough kdramas to know how to deliver a threat with style and bite. the fella also approached the wrong person -- he should have asked inchul who is the sane one in his family. inchul is the only one with brains and even carrie has to admit that he still has brains when he figures out that the mannequin incident is also tied to the kidnapping from years ago. am not sure how janice is going to feel about hae joon giving up the SD card. hope he had the sense to take a copy? janice threatens eun ha that she will file a police case and that will affect the clinic's reputation...

 

am missing philip. will we see him again. hope so. we are only on ep 27. so what do chingus think will happen? maybe we will see hae joon and janice break up?

So many people so crazy ,  revenge is really a dish that is eaten cold, at this speed, they will all go to jail or end up in a psychiatric hospital, I'm a little disappointed, and couples? we already know that our fiery young danny will eventually fall in love with Sera and she will eventually change towards the end

At this point, HJ seems like he’s firm on the path going to him marrying YJ. Unless he gets black mailed into it by his dad begging him to do it because he doesn’t want his dad to go to jail. Or that something suspicious about YJ gets him to break up with her, I don’t think he will get back with SR.

 

The way the plot is going though, I also think that we will find out about the switch first before the kidnapping. Carry will either hear it from the nurse or eavesdrop on a conversation between that hospitalized nurse and EH. Then proceed to make the these future in law families to hate each other more. The only thing is if YJ finds out-she May think that the switch means she’s fallen in love with her brother (incestscare plottwist) which makes her want to distance herself from him. But with that case, she might start to question the whole backstory because I’m pretty sure she calls her brother ‘oppa’ not dongsaeng like a younger brother which she knows HJ is younger than her. So unless she has a moment of amnesia like it seems many of these characters have; EH dreaming of past Carry and still not connecting their faces, HJ meeting YJs ‘younger brother’ and not recognizing hm as lawyer he first met, etc.

what will be this shows ending? I know it’s too soon to tell but I love thinking about this, with any show I watch that goes week by week currently airing. It’s the fun of predicting and theorizing as I excitedly wit for the next episode and time to pass to near the end (especially with a long daily like this).

 

I hope Carry doesn’t die. She sure has done a lot of horrible things, but just as much suffering she’s inflicted she has received as well. Honestly I think a major karma in this is that she never knew her baby was alive or switched and now he has inevitably been involved in her revenge without her realizing-showing how much the power of hurting someone just comes back to hurt you. It would be nice if she ‘lived for YJ’ like she promise especially after the trauma she put her through and most likely will continue putting her through as the plot thickens. 

 

@tulip06 I honestly thought it was comically nonsensical how mad HJ was because he wanted to know who was singing the lullaby. I mean honestly, his anger was totally unnecessary, it’s not even a man singing it so it wasn’t out of jealousy and seeing as how he does smack job at protecting YJ from SR, didn’t seem like it was out of concern for YJ in case it was his crazy psycho ex. It’s not like he was adopted and having sudden memories of hearing that lullaby from his long lost mom. That’s why I was kinda laughing at how ridiculous he was acting, like what the heck is going on? Why is he getting so mad? Especially when he’s had way more than his moment to be mad about far worse and frankly important things related to YJ and her well being. Whatever though writers, I stopped overthinking when all your characters seem to suffer Prosopagnosia (inability to recognize faces). 

 

@Sota Baka that’s what I worry about-when carry finds out HJ is her son, she will try to either prevent YJ and his marriage from happening (maybe by saying he’s her brother?) or try to get them divorced if they already have by the time she finds out birth secret, because YJ is the daughter of the woman she despises and would never approve anyone form that family for her son. Even if it’s the very daughter she raised and loves the most. I pity YJ the most so far, I know SR also has no one that truly loves her but at least she has her dad. YJ really got no one, maybe HJ and her brother but of her brother really loved her he wouldn’t let her go through this revenge plan in first place and HJ, we already know he needs some major character development to become more likable.

 

I think what will make me start to like HJ is when all these twists and reveals come along he will always stick by YJs side and protect her, rather than let it tear them apart or go against her, maybe getting revenge himself (though that might still be more entertaining then him just predictably throwing a hissy fit and tantrum like SR). I’ll give him credit for believing in Janice about this current elevator incident, but still it’s underwhelming how he still acts so guilty and let’s the elders put him down like he deserves it as if he had a full fledged affair. So I need him to be more selfish, or at least honest with himself about his selfishness so he can stand up for himself more and not tolerate being treated badly by others especially when he’s with Janice as if that’s what they get for going against the adults. 

 

Also, I could see Janice helping HJ replace his dad’s position. Now that would be a sweet revenge, because so far the dad is doing all this, pushing for the marriage, to save his own skin. And he’s always been scared to be replaced by HJ at work, so let his biggest fear happen.

@philosophie ~ am watching this turkish dizi where this guy is divorcing his wife. while he is in love with his friend and has been for years, he makes it very clear to his ex that the friend is not the reason for the divorce. he tells her clearly that he tried to make the marriage work but she made his life miserable and has no wish to be with her. he is fiercely loyal to his friend even though she hasn't even accepted how she feels about him. when I see that character in comparison with hae joon, he is so weak. he shows more loyalty to sera than janice. he is making janice look bad and has no qualms doing it. if he loved janice, he would be mad that she was in harm's way. he would be mad that sera is behind it all and would be pursuing justice. instead, he is sitting there apologetic and feeling guilty. so am expecting him to flee from janice because he can't handle the stress. there is far more fire in the belly from danny when janice is hurt.

 

@marrez1 ~ there might be some weird redemption arcs but for now, am expecting the psych ward, death or jail for all of these characters. then there is the final option of moving somewhere abroad and the usual countries. France or US perhaps?

A semi-tragic ending for everyone. Death, jail, the psych ward (Sera and maybe Eunha too.)

ep 28 ~ well, that was not only intense but led to some philosophical musings from both janice and danny. @tulip06 ~ sera not only needs a rehab but also a reality check. loved the side stink eye that danny was giving her when she was moaning about her life. he looked like he was saying "girl I grew up on the street. I don't know what you are complaining about stupid." danny is worried if janice is enjoying the romance with hae joon. poor inchul -- every time he tries to speak some sense, he gets shut down by eun ha pointing out that she is not happy. (eye roll) yea, lady, who cares. you benefited from this marriage. hae joon has nothing to gain from marrying a depressed suicidal woman he doesn't love. unless you are paying him to be a caretaker nurse, he is not going to be volunteering for this job for nothing.

 

sera overdoses on pills and alcohol but gets taken to the hospital. eun ha then goes on a screaming fit at hae joon's house. yoo kyung does a great job of handling a tough situation. despite the guilt trips that eun ha tries to do, yoo kyung calmly says that sera lies as much as she eats. LOL .. yoo kyung dismisses hae joon to go to work and so it is clear where her stand is even if indirectly. J thief promises to proceed to frame janice for embezzlement. eun ha satisfied for now leaves. while yoo kyung visits, salt gets rubbed in the wound when sera realizes that hae joon has not shown up and has gone for work. yoo kyung does not promise that the engagement is back on or anything like that and instead asks her to get better. sera now really desperate goes to the office to jump off the roof. guess the hospital roof wouldn't be enough of punishment for hae joon.

 

honestly I don't get either eun ha or sera's thinking. such unstable behaviour is only going to further drive hae joon and his family. no one is going to welcome a psycho who harms her partner by having him reported for assault. to try justify that as normal? eun ha also thinks that if nothing works, she will reveal that hae joon isn't yoo kyung's son -- again, how does that help sera to get married to him?

 

danny and janice have an interesting chat about whether it is fair that sera is the one being punished for her mother's actions. danny feels it is a bit unfair but what goes around comes around. janice sighs and feels revenge is a heavy burden and would rather be somewhere else. she just wants to finish this and get back to her life. danny then says they have to move on to the next phase of destroying hae joon. janice just nods. not sure what that involves...

 

@marrez1 ~ after seeing that episode, really hope that danny does not fall in love with sera. she does not need a new lover but a new perspective on life. otherwise, she will just transfer her obsession tendencies and basically end up killing danny in some form. poor fella! @chococarmela ~ eun ha and sera really do need the psych ward! eun ha seems to think that she has done some amazing thing by saving hae joon and he owes her. such a god complex for a doctor.

ep 29 ~ well madness seems to run in this family. this is murder attempt #3 of janice. eun ha dunks janice in this tub of water like a mad general and orders her to leave the country in a week. janice really shaken agrees. later, she tells danny that it is okay and she has no ill feelings and sees it as just a concerned mother. ummm, what??? so when the truth gets revealed, are all these psychos going to bond together as family and they will just see these repeated murder attempts as just games?? am seriously wondering if that will happen in this drama. if it does, sigh!!!! danny on the other hand has no such psychosis and tells her that eun ha is not a good mother doing it for her daughter but she is selfish, self-centered and even these actions are all about her and not losing what belongs to her.

 

am not at all convinced that hae joon is truly in love with janice. he shows zero insight into whether janice was in any danger. he has some sense to ask to check the security footage and ask janice if anything happened but he doesn't even push or ask questions. a woman you love tells you indirectly that their actions have made her resolve to stay with him stronger and he does not even ask what happened or have any emotional reaction to that. ugh. yes, that is the power of thunderbolt love. useless!

 

danny on the other hand is truly alarmed and his spidey senses are pinging. he puts together what happened on the roof. danny is the guy who actually loves janice. it also feels like janice has no real feelings for hae joon because she doesn't even cry on his shoulder or want to tell him what's going on. at least with danny, she is free to discuss how she feels. meanwhile, hae joon feels this is the exact timing to reveal his thunderbolt love from 3 years ago while chatting with danny. danny wonders why janice hid it but she said that while she was interested, it was quickly killed when she found out his identity. she didn't want carrie or danny losing trust in her and worrying about the revenge. danny then asks pointedly "can I trust you?" and she nods. so plan to destroy hae joon is still on....

 

am not sure why hae joon feels compelled to visit his psycho ex because thats really not healthy for anyone. while eun ha is urging sera to get better because otherwise, she is going to look sick on her wedding day (eye roll), inchul has decided it is enough. he punches hae joon and asks why hae joon is questioning sera's love. does hae joon see it as obsession, mental illness? hae joon as usual will not open his mouth. so he just get punched and inchul declares that he can't give sera to someone who is selfish and inconsiderate. hae joon then sighs in relief glad that someone in the family is giving his freedom.

 

carrie visits her old farm with hae joon who again feels the need to share about his thunderbolt love. she raises her eyebrows.

 

this drama is obviously running like a train without a brake. everyone seems to be crazy with a capital C. at this stage, am hoping danny and janice make it out alive but given janice weird defense of eun ha, she might defect to the crazy family camp as well...
