Story:

 

Thism drama is a fantasy drama about those who struggle for power and the queen’s throne. Kang Eun Bo’s  twin sister is murdered. To find out the who is responsible for her sister’s death, Kang Eun Bo decides to become the queen. She does not hesitate to take reckless actions in pursuit of her goal. Meanwhile, Lee Kyung  is the king. He is handsome and intelligent. Lee Kyung has precognitive dreams about one woman. He becomes involved in an unexpected case.

Jin Se Yeon, Kim Min Kyu, Lee Si Eon, And More Attend 1st Script Reading For Upcoming Historical Fantasy

The cast of TV Chosun’s upcoming drama “Selection – Girls’ War” (literal title) gathered for a script reading.

 

“Selection – Girls’ War” is a historical fantasy drama that tells the story of the cutthroat competition around the selection of the new queen, who is the only person in the kingdom who can have power without being related to the royal family.

 

On October 24, the drama released photos from its first script reading, which was attended by lead actors including Jin Se Yeon, Kim Min Kyu, Lee Si Eon, Lee Yul Eum, and Do Sang Woo, as well as director Kim Jung Min and writer Choi Soo Mi.

 

Jin Se Yeon has taken on the role of Kang Eun Bo, a woman who wants to become queen in order to find out the truth behind her twin sister’s murder. During the script reading, she brought the character to life by perfectly portraying the changes in the way Kang Eun Bo speaks as she goes from being a commoner to an appropriate candidate running for queen.

 

Kim Min Kyu will play Lee Kyung, a young king who had to suffer through an unimaginable hardship after being shot in the head. He raised anticipation by showing a wide range of emotions as someone who experiences the pain of love as well as confusion due to his position as king during a chaotic time period.

 

Lee Si Eon will take on the role of Wal, someone who doesn’t know his own name but knows the importance of money. The actor proved his extraordinary acting skills once again by freely portraying the character just the way he is.

 

Do Sang Woo transformed into Lee Jae Hwa, a man who suddenly goes from living in the streets to being the first in line to the throne. He dropped jaws as he naturally acted in his character’s dialect and managed to be humorous at the same time.

 

Lee Yul Eum will play Jo Young Ji, the daughter of the second state councilor Jo Heung Gyeon, who has been obsessed with king Lee Kyung ever since he saved her from bullies when they were just children. The actress perfectly immersed herself into the role of Jo Young Ji, a woman with a bright personality who chases after her true love.

 

The production team said, “The speed that the cast showed from the first script reading was great. The actors, who were already 100 percent in sync with their characters, fully immersed themselves into the story and poured out their passion for four hours. Please look forward to how the actors, who found [roles] that fit them perfectly, will complete ‘Selection.'”

“Selection – Girls’ War” will premiere on December 15 and air every Sunday.

Third teaser!:grin:  Very exciting!  We see more action, characters and a little more of Eunbo's main rivals in the Queen selection process. (I wish I knew what the characters were saying:()

Jin Se Yeon And Kim Min Kyu Perfectly Transform Into Unique Characters For “Queen: Love And War”

The first stills of Jin Se Yeon and Kim Min Kyu have been released for “Queen: Love and War”!

This upcoming TV Chosun historical fantasy drama is about the cutthroat competition over the selection of the new queen, who is the only person in the kingdom who can have power without being related to the royal family.

Jin Se Yeon portrays daring heroine Kang Eun Bo, who tries to find the killer behind her twin sister’s death. She was raised by a medium after losing her family at the age of nine and became a tenacious person who learned how to survive in this world by gathering and trading information from the streets. She sets out with the lofty goal of becoming a queen in order to learn the truth of her sister’s death.

In the stills, Kang Eun Bo covers her face with a white cloth and uses the light from a candle to investigate her surroundings. She looks cautious as she looks around this unfamiliar place and sits down for a closer look.

Jin Se Yeon showed off her acting skills with small gestures and expressions despite having half of her face covered. The actress said, “I’m working hard with determination to show hot passionje that can make me forget about the cold. I reunited with director Kim Jung Min from ‘Grand Prince’ and think that we’ll be able to create a better synergy than ever before. I’m having fun filming. Please look forward to ‘Queen: Love and War.'”

A source from the drama added, “Jin Se Yeon is an actress who energetically leads not only the drama but also the atmosphere on set. She plans to perfectly pull off her special role, so please look forward to it.”

Kim Min Kyu will portray a unique king named Lee Kyung who is the only one in the line of descent and rules over the Joseon Dynasty. Although he was born as the crown prince, he has felt the power of other forces and realized that he needs to stand strong in order to carry out the right kind of politics. After dealing with hardship, he has precognitive dreams and he only has his eyes on one person in those dreams.

Kim Min Kyu transformed into an ambitious, dignified king on the first day of filming. Dressed in bright-colored hanbok (Korean traditional clothing), he smiles brightly in the stills while sitting in a gold carriage. He keeps looking behind him before breaking out into a big smile.

The actor said, “I’m really happy I could be in a good project. I’m excited that I was given the opportunity to act with good senior actors and colleagues. I’m grateful and nervous. I’ll work hard at this great opportunity.”

By the way, I noticed Soompi are still using the old start date.  The drama now begins airing on Saturday December 14th.

Jin Se Yeon is also a cast member on KBS cooking variety show 편스토랑 and some of the Gantaek cast members will be making an appearance on this Friday's episode (06/12/2019) as she chats to them on set. 

The preview clip even shows JSY, KMK (the King), Do Sang Woo , the King's rival and Ahn Se Ha who plays The King's faithful eunuch will even be doing some tasting and cooking with JSY:grin::
