Plot

On May 30, it was reported that Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon would be starring in upcoming drama “Hyena” (literal title). Ju Ji-Hoon & Song Hye-Kyo offered lead roles in KBS2 drama series “Hyena”

Ju Ji-Hoon and Song Hye-Kyo have been offered the lead roles in new KBS2 drama series “Hyena.” Both performers are currently “considering” their offers. Producing director (PD) Jang Tae Yoo of “My Love from the Star” will be directing a new drama!

On June 19, it was reported that “Hyena” (literal title) will be directed by PD Jang Tae Yoo, produced by Key East, and broadcast on KBS 2TV.

In a phone interview with News1, PD Jang Tae Yoo confirmed the reports, stating, “I’m preparing for a project. It’s currently at the stage of script development, but writer Kim Roo Ri is an experienced writer who’s good at writing scripts.”

He continued, “It’s a really fun drama, and I think it’ll be different from previous legal dramas. It’s a drama centered around the characters, so it’ll show the actors’ hard work. I’m going to work hard to make this project.”

“Hyena” is about lawyers who defend the top one percent. Although its leads are lawyers, this will be not be a legal drama. It explores these fierce lawyers who use the law as a tool for survival, and it tells stories about people and the brutal game of survival surrounding these various characters. Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon are currently in talks to play the leads.

Song Hye Kyo’s agency has clarified reports about her reasons for turning down the upcoming drama “Hyena” (literal title).

Last month, Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon were confirmed to be in talks for the new legal drama, which will be helmed by producing director (PD) Jang Tae Yoo of “My Love from the Star.” However, it was revealed on June 27 that the actress had ultimately decided not to appear in the drama.

An unconfirmed report published by news outlet Ilgan Sports claimed that after initially declining the lead role, Song Hye Kyo had changed her mind and accepted the casting offer—then suddenly pulled out of the drama at the beginning of this week.

Kim Hye Soo might be starring in a new drama soon!

On July 30, a source from the entertainment industry stated to a media outlet, “Kim Hye Soo has received a casting offer from ‘Hyena’ and is in final negotiations.”

A source from Kim Hye Soo’s agency, HODU&U Entertainment, stated later that day, “‘Hyena’ is one of the projects that Kim Hye Soo is reviewing. She is currently just in talks.”

“Hyena” will be directed by Jang Tae Yoo (“Tree With Deep Roots” and “My Love from the Star“) and tells the story of lawyers who cater to the elite “1 percent” of society.

Back in May, it was reported that Song Hye Kyo and Joo Ji Hoon were in talks to star in the drama, although Song Hye Kyo eventually turned down her offer.

It is reported that Kim Hye Soo has been offered the same role that Song Hye Kyo was in talks for. The character, Jung Geum Ja, is described as a lawyer who chases success without caring about how she gets there. She wasn’t able to attend university because she came from a poor background, but eventually passed the bar exam and is now fiercely ambitious for a better future.

I am glad that Both Ki Hye Soo and Joo Ji Hoon have confirmed to star in this drama. I see sopme changes. It will be a SBS show and it will air next year, in the first half of 2020. I hope they will start filming this year and Kim Hye Soo to be free to film Signal 2. She has confirmed recently that she will star in a movie as well. Very busy scredules.

Kim Hye-Soo and Ju Ji-Hoon are cast for lead roles in SBS drama series “Hyena.” Song Hye-Ko was first offered the lead female role, but she declined. She will be joining Joo Ji-hoon (Item) in this drama about the cutthroat world of the lawyers who serve the top 1% of society. They use the law like a finely honed weapon to take down their enemies.

The showrunners are being frugal with plot details, but we know that Kim Hye-soo will be playing a character named Jung Geum-ja who will do anything for money. Joo Ji-hoon will be playing Yoon Hee-jae, a man born with a silver spoon and is the most elite of the elite. Both these actors are excellent at walking the gray line of moral ambiguity while still making you want to root for them, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do with this material.

The first look at “Hyena” has been shared!

This upcoming SBS drama is about a woman named Jung Geum Ja. Although she was unable to attend college due to her poor background, she passes the bar exam to become a lawyer and refuses to let anything stand in her way of success.

The voiceover in a first teaser for the show narrates, “This is a place filled with predators after people with money and power,” as the teaser likens the dog-eat-dog competitiveness of society to the wilderness.

More talented actors have joined the cast of “Hyena”!

This upcoming SBS drama is about the fierce competition between lawyers who use their knowledge of the law to pursue their ambitions for money. “Hyena” has already gained lots of attention for being directed by “My Love from the Star” producing director Jang Tae Yoo, for being written by 2013 script contest winner Kim Roo Ri, and for starring Kim Hye Soo and Joo Ji Hoon as leads Yoon Hee Jae and Jung Geum Ja, respectively.

Adding more reasons for viewers to look forward to this drama, “Hyena” has revealed its supporting actors. Lee Kyung Young will portray CEO Song Pil Joong of Korea’s top law firm Song & Kim. As the leader of this large law firm, he’s someone equipped with both a kind smile and a cold heart.

Jeon Suk Ho will appear as Yoon Hee Jae’s friend from the training institute and lawyer Ka Ki Hyuk, while Song Young Kyu will play lawyer Ma Seok Goo who goes up against everyone including Yoon Hee Jae and Jung Geum Ja.
