Plot

 

The '99 Billion Woman` is a story about a woman who caught up with $ 9 billion by chance and fights against the world.

Jung Seo-Yeon (Cho Yeo- Jeong) happens to get 9.9 Billion won ($9 million USD) and she fights against the world. Jung Seo-Yeon and her family suffered from violence by her father. She left their home and started a new life with an affectionate man, but her happy life ended. She struggles to look for happiness in her life.

Kang Tae-Woo is an ex-detective. He attempts to reveal the truth behind the death of his younger sibling.

Jung Seo Yeon (Jo Yeo Jeong) is the woman who holds the key to the 9.9 billion won in cash. Kang Tae Woo (Kim Kang Woo)  is a nonconformist with the nickname “crazy bull” for always charging forward without caring about what other people think when he sniffs out a case. After being falsely accused of taking a bribe, he leaves his dream job as a cop, and he wanders listlessly without any hope or goals when his younger sibling, his only source of pride, dies. While trying to uncover the real reason behind his sibling’s death, he meets Jung Seo Yeon.

Cho Yeo-Jeong cast in KBS2 drama series “Woman of 9.9 Billion”

Cho Yeo-Jeong is cast for the lead female role in KBS2 drama series “Woman of 9.9 Billion” (literal title). Actor Kim Kang-Woo is still “positively considering” an offer to play the lead male character. Cho Yeo-Jeong in “Woman of 9.9 Billion” will play Jung Seo-Yeon. Her character after living a difficult life comes in possession of 99 billion won (about $9 million USD). Drama series will be directed by Kim Young-Jo (“Cinderella’s Sister“) and scripted by Han Ji-Hoon (“White Nights“).

Jo Yeo Jeong will be returning with a new drama!

On August 22, High Entertainment announced, “Jo Yeo Jeong has been cast for KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘9.9 Billion Woman’ (literal title) for the role of Jung Seo Yeon.”

“9.9 Billion Woman” is a story of a woman who faces the world after coincidentally getting her hands on 9.9 billion won (approximately $8.2 million) in cash. Jo Yeo Jeong will be playing Jung Seo Yeon, the woman who holds the key to the 9.9 billion won in cash. Jung Seo Yeon’s family suffers from her father’s violence, and although she temporarily finds happiness with an affectionate man after leaving her prison-like home, she becomes resigned to her fate as she continues to wander in search of happiness.

Recently, Jo Yeo Jeong captivated audiences with her acting in “Parasite” through her role of the innocent woman Choi Yeon Kyo. She also showcased her broad range of acting skills through her role of Seo Eun Joo in JTBC’s “Beautiful World.”

Furthermore, Kim Kang Woo is in talks to join the drama. A source from King Entertainment revealed, “‘9.9 Billion Woman’ is one of the projects he is currently considering.”

Kim Kang Woo has been offered the role of the ex-cop Kang Tae Woo, who is trying to dig up the truth about his younger sibling’s death. Back in 2012, Kim Kang Woo and Jo Yeo Jeong acted together in “Haeundae Lovers.” If Kim Kang Woo accepts the offer, this will be their first time reuniting in a drama in seven years.

“9.9 Billion Woman” will be directed by producing director (PD) Kim Young Jo, who directed “Hwarang,” “Oh My Geum Bi,” and “Jang Young Sil.” The drama will be written by scriptwriter Han Ji Hoon, who wrote “Night Light,” “Temptation,” “Time Between Dog and Wolf,” and “Dr. Jin.”

On September 6, Dmost Entertainment announced, “Youngjae has been confirmed to star in ‘9.9 Billion Woman,’ and this will be his first effort in a traditional drama.”

“9.9 Billion Woman” is a story of a woman who faces the world after coincidentally getting her hands on 9.9 billion won (approximately $8.3 million) in cash. Jo Yeo Jeong has been confirmed to play Jung Seo Yeon, the woman who holds the key to the 9.9 billion won in cash, and Kim Kang Woo will play Kang Tae Woo, the ex-cop who meets Jung Seo Yeon while digging up the truth about his younger sibling’s death.

Youngjae will be taking on the role of part-timer Kim Seok, who works at the PC Bang (internet cafe) managed by Kang Tae Woo. Although he seems ordinary, he’s a computer fiend who is widely known for his skills in hacking since his middle school and high school days.

In 2018, Youngjae made his acting debut through JTBC’s web drama “Kim Seul Gi Genius” (literal title) as the lead character Chun Cha Dol. More actors will be joining Kim Kang Woo and Jo Yeo Jeong for KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama “9.9 Billion Woman” (literal title).

“9.9 Billion Woman” is about a woman named Jung Seo Yeon (Jo Yeo Jeong) who coincidentally gets her hands on 9.9 billion won (approximately $8.3 million) in cash and a man called Kang Tae Woo (Kim Kang Woo) who meets Jung Seo Yeon while digging up the truth about his younger sibling’s death.

Oh Na Ra has been confirmed for the role of Yoon Hee Joo, Jung Seo Yeon’s beautiful and affluent friend who has high levels of self-confidence. As someone who hasn’t experienced poverty, failure, or misfortune, she acts generously towards everyone, but she transforms into a cold hearted person when given the slightest excuse.

Seo Hyun Chul will be taking on the role of Oh Dae Yong, who used to be a good-for-nothing boss of an entertainment establishment. However, despite this, he is a loyal man.

Shin Soo Hyun will play the bartender Ji Ha Na, who comes to like Kang Tae Woo after receiving help from him. Previously, Shin Soo Hyun showcased her acting skills through OVAN and VINXEN’s music video “Snowflake” and her role as Min Ji on the web drama “The Reason I Can’t Help But Like You” (literal title).

Finally, Lee Ji Hoon has been confirmed for the role of Lee Jae Hoon, the director of Woon Am Foundation and Yoon Hee Joo’s husband who’s great at putting on a show as a husband. However, despite his outer appearance, he’s secretly a playboy. Jung Woong-in (Chief of Staff) and Lee Ji-hoon (Rookie Historian Gu Hae-ryung) have confirmed that they will be joining Jo Yeo-jung (A Beautiful World) and Kim Kang-woo (Item) in KBS’s upcoming drama, 9.9 Billion Won Woman. The story is about a woman who suddenly gains 9.9 billion won (about $9 million) in cash, and her fight against the world as she tries to live her life.

Jung Woong-in will play a man named Hong In-pyo, who suffers from a victim mentality wherein he believes he hasn’t been given the opportunity to spread his wings because of the unfairness of life and innate classism of society. Every time his inferiority complex kicks in, he takes it out on his wife, who is the main character played by Jo Yeo-jung. The cast and crew of upcoming drama “9.9 Billion Woman” (literal title) gathered for the first script reading.

“9.9 Billion Woman” is about a woman named Jung Seo Yeon (Jo Yeo Jeong) who coincidentally gets her hands on 9.9 billion won (approximately $8.3 million) in cash and a man called Kang Tae Woo (Kim Kang Woo) who meets Jung Seo Yeon while digging up the truth about his younger sibling’s death.

Director Kim Young Jo as well as actors Jo Yeo Jeong, Kim Kang Woo, Oh Na Ra, Jung Woong In, Lee Ji Hoon, B.A.P’s Youngjae, Shin Soo Hyun, and more were present at the script reading.

 

After introductions, the script reading started in a warm atmosphere with much laughter. First off, Jo Yeo Jeong showed her successful transformation into Jung Seo Yeon. Her character is a woman who left her family because of her father’s violence and got married. However, the happiness was short-lived, and after living a hopeless life, she ended up finding 9.9 billion won in cash.

As expected, Kim Kang Woo brought out his charisma as Kang Tae Woo, a former violent detective known as the “crazy cow.” Kim Kang Woo effectively wielded his character by controlling his tone to portray the different sides of him.
