Echo the calls that we should be sensible and responsible fans and respect their and their staff public domain and account.

 

To think of it, Yejin has been active on social media until the LA pic where there are much fanfare and scrunity generated on her private life. The pressure has been much worse after the fandom from cloy and such bombarding is definitely disrupting her online interactions with her friends and her willingness to share openly her private side of life, eg her travels and food experience.

 

Even with this pressure from fans, she is still considered magnanimous not to make her account private, or shut off the public comment function and had even share post from time to time, albeit lower frequency.  I think we got to be sensible and not to take that for granted.

 

Can I suggest not to share any post or comments made by her staff or acquaintances as anyone could have made out of proportion given that  this is a public forum, accessible by all. If you want to share such stuff, mask out the id or name at least to protect their privacy.

So true. In the first 30 pages (601 to 630) there was an HB fan named Kim Soo Han Moo who basically explained the difference between fans of a male actor from fans of a female actor. Her analogy and contribution to better understand situations were so on point. I miss cybertron also who was the one who started this thread on July 2019. i hope they become active again.

 

I am also quite new and wrote something on page 788 but before actively joining i read the 786 pages so i can cope without dragging this thread. I joined because i watched Cloy and did my own research of SYJ and HB separately to see why the effect on me of this two is too strong and i understood why.

Thank you for all the ninja detective work on BJ’s fashion, I now know WAY MORE about RL as a brand than from the 15 years I've watched Project Runway. Impressive! While I am really excited about the Couple-Matching implications of it all, hello Navy and Gold are heavenly together (they were even my wedding colors, they're pretty complementarily legit!)

 

But one thing I am really confused about is this constant divisive discussion on the "price tag" of the RL brand. I'm also seeing a lot of BinJin one-upping comparison wars happening. 

 

Maybe I’m just not a fashion guru myself but from what I’ve known from being a Binnie fan for 15 years, I was always under the impression that Binnie he was always about being less is more. I'm pretty certain in the various interviews where BinJin was asked about their fashion sense, they always opted for casual, clean, classic type clothing. I might be mistaken but from the insight I've also gained, BinJin always seemed to be more about substance than flash. So, this is just my view, but I've concluded from these aforementioned conclusions that BinJin was and has always been more than a price tag of the clothes that they wear? And that their status/reputation/career/persona is not dependent on the brands that they brandish their bodies with? I know, look at me over here with my outlandish interpretations! Silly me, can I even call myself a BinJin shipper being so unknowledgeable about them?

 

Hmm..In my humble opinion, here are the things that I counted up during my whole BinJin shipping account. Feel free to check my receipts.

 

Warning though: I've always been one of those Asians that secretly did not like math because writing is always way more my jam but I'm gonna give it a shot anyways, correct my calculations if you see fit.

 

Here are the things that I think are the more important things to count about BinJin than the price tag and prestige of their clothes brand, or if Bin is higher than Jin, or Jin is higher than Bin: 

 

1. I count my blessings that BJ had 2 back-to-back projects together within 2 years where they blessed millions of screens with their acting prowess and chemistry for 16 one hour-and-a-half long episodes, plus an almost 2 hour movie. 
2. I count that Binnie flew 5, 953 miles (that's 9, 580 km for the Metric System folks, lots of international folks here so gotta be respectful) across the world to be with 1 close friend and pushed 1 grocery cart together. (Yes. I did indeed google how far Seoul was from LA! ) 
3. I count that Binnie did 1 exclusive interview in 4 months since CLOY ended, and for that 5 minute interview, he talks about YJ for 2+ minutes.  I count that within those 2+ min, he pulled up a 2 year-old memory from a 20-second excerpt of an interview from the words of 1 close friend and closed his eyes for exactly 2  seconds dimple smiling about it with a twinkle in his closed eyes. 
4. I count that I have adored HB as a loyal fan for 15 years, watched all of his works, and this is the 1st time I have ever seen him this happy with smiles that last this long and measure this wide. It is only when Jinnie is his +1. 
5. I count that between 3 BJ dating rumors, 0 direct denials from BJ have been issued. 
6. I count that CLOY achieved a 22% rating on a cable TV channel, became the #1 rated in TVN's history, became the 3rd most viewed Korean cable TV show ever (despite getting lots of skepticism when the announcement of the story premise first came out).
7. I count that CLOY essentially broke the internet and the record for the Korean drama that garnered the most online views of 1.75 billion media clip views online (and I probably account for a 1/3 of that ). I count that it takes me 8 hours to get through an 8 min Swoonies video of them because my repeat button gets way too abused.  
8. I count that between 3 TN interviews, 3 Netflix Swoonies videos, 1 live Kakao Talk, 1 Live Talk where the lights go out, 1 Press Con, and 1 CLOY Taiwan Netflix interview, HB stares at YJ 3894587554483 times, for 238477699854 secs, dimple smiles 8857846675943 times, they tease each other for 757883545937664 times, YJ scam smiley-eyes HB 487376467647 times, and both laugh 34598098023987983223409 times. In CLOY BTS, these close friends touch each other 99989937346375985873623858302947477448 times. 
9. I count that it took YJ 3 seconds to name 3 HB movies. 
10. I count 2 close friends who both watch channel 20 and remembered it at the same time. 
11. I count that HB has 0 social media accounts while YeJin has 1 IG account where HB occupies 7 IG cover photos. 
12. I count that 1 Christmas IG photo with 2 close friends, 3 subtle finger buttons, 1 gorgeous location, garnered 1 million+ likes on YJ's IG account. 
13. I count that BJ broke down the 1 inch barrier of subtitles that the "Parasite" director was talking about and reached millions of viewers and gained millions of fans in 6 continents. I count that CLOY reached #1 in 6 different countries, and #6 in the USA (and only 1 of 2 non-English speaking shows on Netflix top 10 in March) months after its finale date, lighting the world on fire with their chemistry and bridging cultural gaps every where in unity of their love and magic. 
14. I count that BJ donated $300 million won combined for the COVID relief effort.
15. I count that combined, BinJin garnered  3.16 million votes worldwide beating out young K-pop idols while being 38 and having fans in all age ranges (many of whom added 3 apps on their phone they don't even know how to use and grew 6 extra thumbs because the first 2 broke off just to vote) to win respective Popularity Awards.
16. I count that I spent 3 hours watching a Korean awards show I did not understand just to see BinJin onscreen together for less than 5 mins to watch them get an award, one of which I already knew was in the bag. 
17. I count 3 stolen glances, 1 obvious TikTok glance, several sweet smiles, and 1 minute for 1 anxious, carefully guarded gentlemen to escort his 1 beautiful queen onto the stage for their 2 Popularity Awards.
18. I counted 1 teary-eyed acceptance speech and 1 "Thank you very much!" to International friends speech delivered by 2 humble, grateful, talented actors. 
19. I count that they won 2 different Popularity awards but that morphed into 1 Best Couple Award and 2 hands held the 1 trophy, gave 1 conjoined speech, and practiced 0  social distancing. This picture went on to be shared from their 2 different stylists. And was then featured as the front news for numerous newspaper articles where the proportion of their picture was larger than the 4 Baeksang winners combined.
20. I count that these 2 amazing people have survived in the Korean Ent. industry for 20 years with 0 scandals and tons of accolades. And even until today, they are still a top trending topic!
21. I count that overnight, 40 new members (345 to 385) and 40 new threads were added onto this ship and that the ship became an International BinJin United Nations cruise (well at least we're 6 ft. apart).  I also count that there are men, women, teens, ahjummas, even ahjusshis, cats, dogs, with all diverse backgrounds and careers, on this BinJin ship ranging from 6 different continents (Never know what's going on with Antarctica..where you at, brah?) So happy to see that our love for BinJin has united us all! Welcome, new shippers! Continue adding to the positivity and not vice versa! 
22. I count that in starting this 1 month BJ shipping journey, I have gained 10 lbs., lost 3/4 of my sanity, have consumed 20 gallons of patience juice, helped clean up 40 gallons of Haterade, downed 10 gallons of coffee ice cream, written 2 love poems over the span of 3 weeks after not writing for 10 years, started out with 10 fingers, now down to 2 working ones, worsened by eyesight by 10 degrees, added 2 anxiety meds to my drug regimen, cried 22 buckets of tears, have rewatched CLOY 20 times and have signed up 5 new watching recruits, have 3 social media accounts that I don’t even know how to get on or delete, have slept 2 hours per night on a good night, worn 1 unwashed robe, have probably showered twice, and maybe have 1 less husband? Don't know, haven't looked for him. BUT I have smiled like an idiot for 6 months and gained numerous new friends from so many places I've lost count. 

 

Ahh look at that, exactly 22 items to count. It's not fate, it's a coincidence (because I purposefully wrote it that way  ) 

 

So let's just kindly add up that math. 

 

Please do not cheapen BinJin down to a brand. They are already CEO of their own brands: Badass Inc. and I-Can-Pull-Off-A-Potato-Sack Corp. She's the "1% high classss," remember? 

 

To me, the math is simple: 1 girl meets 1 guy 2 years ago for 1 movie, then met each other again 2 years later and spent 6-8 months filming 1 drama that went on to capture millions of hearts in 6 continents (seriously, where you at, Antarctica? Get on it!), and refers to each other as “we” which = a compound unit consisting of 2 ppl.

On the same level ground despite one being 185 cm and one being165 cm. 

 

These two beautiful souls inside and out are so much more than a price tag, so much more than putting each other down or comparing tit-tat on a score board who has more accomplishments or awards, so much more than counting the number of buildings they have, cars or brands they own, so much more than the amount of money in their bank account. They are so much than what they wear and what we see. 

 

THE BINJIN EQUATION

 

So let’s do some simple arithmetic: (I used to teach elementary math y’all, these are the only math terms I recall): 

 

When you divide their personality:  1/1 = 1

When you multiply their pressure 1 x 1= 1

When you subtract their substance: 1 - 1 = 0

But when you add to their love: 1 + 1 = 2. 

 

Only one equation adds up to 2. 2 = BinJin. Not 1 Bin or 1 Jin, or the other way around. 1 Bin + 1 Jin = 1 BinJin. 

 

Dang, let’s just math that adds up to me. Aw snap, maybe I AM an Asian who’s good at math after all.

COUNT what COUNTS. Subtract what doesn’t. Multiply the positivity. Divide your thoughts between delulu and reality and see if it adds up. And please, always ADD on to their love and ADD fuel to this ship.

Let me support my writing by saying that I have: 1 degree in English Lit and Writing, 1 degree in Psychology,  2 Master’s degrees in education and teaching, 2 years of law school, and 6 months left in an accelerated 1-year nursing degree. So I guess you could say that I'm somewhat literate. 

 

Oh as far as my BinJin references, I also wrote 1 dissertation on “Why BinJin Are the Perfect Match" for my doctorate PhD in BinJinology (dissertation found on pg. 631), I will be opening and teaching a creative writing course soon with 25+ confirmed shippers enrolled so far for BinJin Delulu Creative Writing Seminar 101 in 2 weeks, and have written 2 love poems, one about RiRi in CLOY and one about BinJin in RL (RL = Real Life, not Ralph Lauren just to clarify ) [RiRi CLOY poem found on pg. 708 and BinJin poem found on pg. 746].

this! Exactly the vibe i got from SYJ, she's letting him lead (not an easy thing to do for someone like her). Also I remember GHJ describing her as very good in taking initiative and YJ herself has said  she likes planning things. Now all those (endlessly) whining about HB being aloof and cold to her that night, stop it already, it's been 3 days you still overthink, worrying about something that's not really there. Again that was planned; that was their script y'all-- for both to stay professional and not show any affection bec it's a subdued formal event with respected colleagues present.
 

with that scenario in mind, HB was all business, he was "in the zone", albeit stiff -- duh, it's not an easy task to not look at SYJ especially in that gown, peeps! I myself got all giddy when she hit the red carpet are you kidding me!! just imagine all the pent up emotion HB was holding up inside (and if indeed his RL vest was half a size smaller, then it must have added to his discomfort)... So I say good job, HB!
 

All through out the event it was in fact SYJ who was caught getting "off-script" with the sneaky glances, asking him which way to go, the magical one-second "where-you-at" and "im here" exchange of glances which she initiated.. 

My last say on this, it's all good in Binjin shipper's paradise. SYJ herself said, "I'm happy"-- she wasn't just referring to the votes she received, she was telling her fans, she's happy. This is from a girl who has said in her many old interviews that loneliness is part of her life. Go figure.

These two beautiful souls inside and out are so much more than a price tag, so much more than putting each other down or comparing tit-tat on a score board who has more accomplishments or awards, so much more than counting the number of buildings they have, cars or brands they own, so much more than the amount of money in their bank account. They are so much than what they wear and what we see. 

 

So let’s do some simple arithmetic: (I used to teach elementary math y’all, these are the only math terms I recall): 

 

When you divide their love:  1/1 = 1

When you multiply their pressure 1 x 1= 1

When you subtract their substance: 1 - 1 = 0

But when you add to their love: 1 + 1 = 2.

Count what counts. Subtract what doesn’t. Multiply the positivity. Divide your thoughts between delulu and reality and see if it adds up. And please, always add on to their love and add fuel to this ship.

Let me support my writing by saying that I have: 1 degree in psychology, 1 degree in English lit, 2 Master’s degrees in education and teaching, 2 years of law school, and 6 months left in an accelerated 1-year nursing degree. So I guess you could say that I'm somewhat literate. 

 

Oh as far as my BinJin references, I also wrote 1 dissertation on “Why BinJin Are the Perfect Match" for my doctorate PhD in BinJinology (dissertation found on pg. 631), I will be opening and teaching a creative writing course soon with 25+ confirmed shippers enrolled so far for BinJin Delulu Creative Writing Seminar 101 in 2 weeks, and have written 2 love poems, one about RiRi in CLOY and one about BinJin in RL (RL = Real Life, not Ralph Lauren just to clarify ) [RiRi CLOY poem found on pg. 708 and BinJin poem found on pg. 746].

Hi Everyone! After being a silent reader for months, I've decided to post my BINJIN experience here and how my life was changed after watching Crash Landing on You, particularly how Actor Hyun Bin and actress Son Ye jin changed my perspective in life. I still remember it clearly when I first watch CLOY. I barely know Hyun Bin and Son Ye jin, I just knew them because I saw their names in Kissasian and some social media platforms. I've watched CLOY for one reason, and it's out of curiosity. I became curious why Kapamilya stars (especially Showtime family) here in the Philippines got hooked when it's just the same romantic series where girl meets boy, hate each other then eventually would fall in love later, and then they would do everything for the sake of love. Honestly, I am not a fan of romantic dramas (forgive me for saying this). I do watch Kdramas, but mostly investigation dramas, thriller, fantasies, sci-fi, detective dramas, medical drams (since my dream is to become a doctor), and supernatural dramas. I find it boring when dramas are all about romance (forgive me again). 
I was on my Birthday leave at that time when I watched CLOY for the very first time. Upon reading the synopsis, the only thing that catches my attention is that this is a story between a South Korean Chaebol Heiress and a North Korean elite and a captain in the North Korean SpecialPolice Force. This caught my attention since the setting of the story is between North and South Korea. After watching the first episode, I got hooked and amazed by the chemistry between Bin and Jin. They portrayed the role perfectly. And as I continued watching it, I fell in love more with the drama, I mean who wouldn't if you can feel all the possible emotions. I fell in love with Capt. Ri and Yoon Se Ri deeply that I even cried when they are crying and happy when they are. I am eager to finish it the soonest as possible because I want to know how the two will end up in the story. But at the same time, I am wishing that the series wouldn't end up because I will surely miss the two of them. I would like to say that the ending was really good, my heart was really satisfied.
After watching it, I open my Youtube app and watched Behind the scenes, and to my surprise, even BTS was really good. And with that, I fell in love with Hyun Bin and Son Ye jin, its not the drama anymore that makes my heart flutters, its the interactions between the two. I also watched videos of their interview for The Negotiation movie, and all I can say is that they were perfect for each other. I mean, its a not romantic movie, yet the sweetness during the press con and interview are overloading. And that's when I started shipping the BINJIN. 
I even became active on social media just because of them, patiently waiting for them to confirm their relationships.  I even installed Tik Tok to vote for them during BAA 2020. And yes, they won Popularity awards.  We've got to see them walking together, receiving awards together, having their speech side by side, and even had an interview and picture together. That little things really made me happy. It feels like having the biggest award on BAA 2020. 
And now I can see that some shippers are arguing and saying that Bin is cold to Jin, some were saying that maybe they were not really in a relationship. First, it's a formal gathering, so how would you expect them to show their affection towards each other? And above all, there is no fancam inside the event that could capture them every minute to see if at the whole event they were like that. 
Binjin family, let's not destroy our fandom just because we were unable to see what we are expecting. We already proved the universe that when we are together and looking at the same goal, WE can make things possible. We made it possible for Bin and Jin to win Baeksang Popularity Award because we set this as our goal. We voted as one. Let us not go overboard by pressuring Bin and Jin to get married. I believe Someone up there has a better plan for them.
Yeah, I feel all of you, thinking that Bin and Jin are not actually dating, or they were dating someone else really breaks my heart. My tears are already pouring just by having the thought. But if we are really their fan, if we really love them, all we have to do is understand them. It is their life and happiness at stake, not ours. Let's just continue showing support on them, love them, care for them, and protect them. Let us not pressure them on doing things that are beyond our limits. In time, there will be a perfect reason why these are all happening, why things are not happening the way we were expecting. Let's just wait for that moment, when they already have the guts to tell the world the real score between them. Just like how Yoon Se ri and Capt, Ri wait patiently for them to reunite again in Switzerland. As long as they do not deny the dating rumors by themselves, our ship is still sailing. Longlive BINJIN!!!!

Maybe I’m just not a fashion guru myself but from what I’ve known from being a Binnie fan for 15 years, I was always under the impression that Binnie he was always about being less is more. I'm pretty certain in the various interviews where BinJin was asked about their fashion sense, they always opted for casual, clean, classic type clothing. I might be mistaken but from the insight I've also gained, BinJin always seemed to be more about substance than flash. So, this is just my view, but I've concluded from these aforementioned conclusions that BinJin was and has always been more than a price tag of the clothes that they wear? And that their status/reputation/career/persona is not dependent on the brands that they brandish their bodies with? I know, look at me over here with my outlandish interpretations! Silly me, can I even call myself a BinJin shipper being so unknowledgeable about them?

 

Hmm..In my humble opinion, here are the things that I counted up during my whole BinJin shipping account. Feel free to check my receipts.

 

Warning though: I've always been one of those Asians that secretly did not like math because writing is always way more my jam but I'm gonna give it a shot anyways, correct my calculations if you see fit.

 

Here are the things I think are the more important things to count about BinJin than the price tag and prestige of their clothes brand: 

1. I count my blessings that BJ had 2 back -to-back projects together within 2 years where they blessed millions of screens with their acting prowess and chemistry for 16 one hour-and-a-half long episodes, plus an almost 2 hour movie. 
2. I count that Binnie flew 5, 953 miles (that's 9, 580 km for the Metric System folks, lots of international folks here so gotta be respectful) to be with 1 close friend and pushed 1 cart together. 
3. I count that Binnie did 1 exclusive interview in 4 months since CLOY ended, and for that 5 minute interview, he talks about YJ for 2+ minutes.  
4. I count that within those 2+ min, he pulled up a 2 year memory from a 20 second of an interview from the words of 1 close friend and closed his eyes for exactly 2  seconds dimple smiling about it with a twinkle in his closed eyes. 
5. I count that between 3 BJ dating rumors, 0 direct denials from BJ have been issued. 
6. I count that CLOY achieved a 22% rating on a cable TV channel, became the #1 rated in TVN's history, became the 3rd most viewed Korean cable TV show ever (despite getting lots of skepticism when the announcement of the story premise first came out).
7. I count that CLOY became the highest rated Korean TV drama to have garnered 1.75 billion media clip views online (and I probably account for a 1/3 of that). I count that it takes me 8 hours to get through an 8 min. Swoonies video of them. 
8. I count that between 3 TN interviews, 3 Netflix Swoonies videos, 1 live Kakao Talk, 1 Live Talk where the lights go out, 1 Press Con, and 1 CLOY Taiwan Netflix interview, HB stares at YJ 3894583 times, for 2384854 secs, dimple smiles 885784943 times, they tease each other for 757883545934 times, , and both laugh 34598098023987983223409 times 

9. I count that it took YJ 3 seconds to name 3 HB movies. 

10. I count 2 close friends who both watch channel 20 and remembered it at the same time. 
11. I count that HB has 0 social media accounts while YeJin has 1 IG account where HB occupies 7 IG cover photos. 
12. I count that 1 Christmas IG photo with 2 close friends, 3 subtle finger buttons, 1 gorgeous location, garnered 1 million+ likes on YJ's IG account. 
13. I count that BJ broke down the 1 inch barrier of subtitles that the Parasite director was talking about and reached millions of viewers and gained millions of fans in 7 continents. I count that CLOY reached #1 in 6 different countries, and #6 in the USA (and only 1 of 2 non-English speaking shows on Netflix top 10 in March) months after its finale date, lighting the world on fire with their chemistry and bridging cultural gaps every where in unity of their love and magic. 
14. I count that BJ donated $300 million won combined for the COVID relief effort.
15. I count that combined, BinJin garnered  3.16 million votes worldwide beating out young K-pop idols while being 38 and having fans in all age ranges (many of whom added 3 apps on their phone they don't even know how to use and grew 6 extra thumbs because the first 2 broke off just to vote) to win respective Popularity Awards.
16. I count that I spent 3 hours watching a Korean awards show I did not understand just to see BinJin onscren together for less than 5 mins to watch them get an award, one of which I already knew was in the bag. 
17. I count 3 stolen glances, 1 obvious TikTok glance, several sweet smiles, and 1 minute for 1 anxious, carefully guarded gentlemen to escort his 1 beautiful queen onto the stage for their 2 Popularity Awards.
18. I counted 1 teary-eyed acceptance speech and 1 "Thank you very much!" to International friends speech delivered by 2 humble, grateful, talented actors. 
19. I count that they won 2 different Popularity awards but that morphed into 1 Best Couple Award and 2 hands held the 1 trophy, gave 1 conjoined speech, and practiced 0  social distancing. This picture went on to be shared from their 2 different stylists. And was then featured as the front news for numerous newspaper articles where the proportion of their picture was larger than the 4 Baeksang winners combined.
20. I count that these 2 amazing people have survived in the Korean industry for 20 years and are still a trending topic now.
21. I count that overnight, 40 new members (345 to 385) and 40 new threads were added onto this ship and that the ship became an International BinJin United Nations cruise (well at least we're 6 ft. apart).  I also count that there are men, women, teens, ahjummas, even ahjusshis, cats, dogs, on this BinJin ship ranging from 6 different continents (Never know what's going on with Antarctica..where you at?) Welcome, new shippers! Continue adding to the positivity and not vice versa!

I count that in starting this 1 month BJ shipping journey, I have gained 10 lbs., lost 3/4 of my sanity, have consumed 20 gallons of patience juice, helped clean up 40 gallons of Haterade, downed 10 gallons of coffee ice cream, written 2 love poems over the span of 3 weeks after not writing for 10 years, started out with 10 fingers, now down to 2 working ones, worsened by eyesight by 10 degrees, added 2 anxiety meds to my drug regimen, cried 22 buckets of tears, have rewatched CLOY 20 times and have signed up 5 new watching recruits, have 3 social media accounts that I don’t even know how to get on or delete, have slept 2 hours per night on a good night, worn 1 unwashed robe, have probably showered twice, and maybe have 1 less husband? Don't know, haven't looked for him. Buttt have smiled like an idiot for 6 months and gained numerous new friends from so many places I've lost count.

18. I counted 1 teary-eyed acceptance speech and 1 "Thank you very much!" to International friends speech delivered by 2 humble, grateful, talented actors.

I count that they won 2 different Popularity awards but that morphed into 1 Best Couple Award and 2 hands held the 1 trophy, gave 1 conjoined speech, and practiced 0  social distancing. This picture went on to be shared from their 2 different stylists. And was then featured as the front news for numerous newspaper articles where the proportion of their picture was larger than the 4 Baeksang winners combined.

Thank you for all the ninja detective work on BJ’s fashion, I now know WAY MORE about RL as a brand than from the 15 years I've watched Project Runway. Impressive! While I am really excited about the Couple-Matching implications of it all, hello Navy and Gold are heavenly together (they were even my wedding colors, they're pretty complementarily legit!)

 

But one thing I am really confused about is this constant divisive discussion on the "price tag" of the RL brand. I'm also seeing a lot of BinJin one-upping comparison wars happening. 

 

Maybe I’m just not a fashion guru myself but from what I’ve known from being a Binnie fan for 15 years, I was always under the impression that Binnie he was always about being less is more. I'm pretty certain in the various interviews where BinJin was asked about their fashion sense, they always opted for casual, clean, classic type clothing. I might be mistaken but from the insight I've also gained, BinJin always seemed to be more about substance than flash. So, this is just my view, but I've concluded from these aforementioned conclusions that BinJin was and has always been more than a price tag of the clothes that they wear? And that their status/reputation/career/persona is not dependent on the brands that they brandish their bodies with? I know, look at me over here with my outlandish interpretations! Silly me, can I even call myself a BinJin shipper being so unknowledgeable about them?

 

Hmm..In my humble opinion, here are the things that I counted up during my whole BinJin shipping account. Feel free to check my receipts.

 

Warning though: I've always been one of those Asians that secretly did not like math because writing is always way more my jam but I'm gonna give it a shot anyways, correct my calculations if you see fit.

 

Here are the things that I think are the more important things to count about BinJin than the price tag and prestige of their clothes brand, or if Bin is higher than Jin, or Jin is higher than Bin: 

 

1. I count my blessings that BJ had 2 back -to-back projects together within 2 years where they blessed millions of screens with their acting prowess and chemistry for 16 one hour-and-a-half long episodes, plus an almost 2 hour movie. 
2. I count that Binnie flew 5, 953 miles (that's 9, 580 km for the Metric System folks, lots of international folks here so gotta be respectful) to be with 1 close friend and pushed 1 cart together. 
3. I count that Binnie did 1 exclusive interview in 4 months since CLOY ended, and for that 5 minute interview, he talks about YJ for 2+ minutes.  
4. I count that within those 2+ min, he pulled up a 2 year memory from a 20 second of an interview from the words of 1 close friend and closed his eyes for exactly 2  seconds dimple smiling about it with a twinkle in his closed eyes. 
5. I count that between 3 BJ dating rumors, 0 direct denials from BJ have been issued. 
6. I count that CLOY achieved a 22% rating on a cable TV channel, became the #1 rated in TVN's history, became the 3rd most viewed Korean cable TV show ever (despite getting lots of skepticism when the announcement of the story premise first came out).
7. I count that CLOY became the highest rated Korean TV drama to have garnered 1.75 billion media clip views online (and I probably account for a 1/3 of that). I count that it takes me 8 hours to get through an 8 min. Swoonies video of them. 
8. I count that between 3 TN interviews, 3 Netflix Swoonies videos, 1 live Kakao Talk, 1 Live Talk where the lights go out, 1 Press Con, and 1 CLOY Taiwan Netflix interview, HB stares at YJ 3894587554483 times, for 238477699854 secs, dimple smiles 8857846675943 times, they tease each other for 757883545937664 times, YJ scam smiley-eyes HB 4873764647, and both laugh 34598098023987983223409 times.

9. I count that it took YJ 3 seconds to name 3 HB movies. 

10. I count 2 close friends who both watch channel 20 and remembered it at the same time. 
11. I count that HB has 0 social media accounts while YeJin has 1 IG account where HB occupies 7 IG cover photos. 
12. I count that 1 Christmas IG photo with 2 close friends, 3 subtle finger buttons, 1 gorgeous location, garnered 1 million+ likes on YJ's IG account. 
13. And dang it, did they make the world dance! Wellll...HB can sure brush up on them awkward moves but he sure makes our hearts dance. We already know the queen can slay some dancing. But wait hold on, let me not accidentally stir up another BinJin comparison. Whoops, my bad. Scratch my last comment. They make the world dance equally. On the same level ground despite one being 185 cm and one being165 cm. 

 

These two beautiful souls inside and out are so much more than a price tag, so much more than putting each other down or comparing tit-tat on a score board who has more accomplishments or awards, so much more than counting the number of buildings they have, cars or brands they own, so much more than the amount of money in their bank account. They are so much than what they wear and what we see. 

 

So let’s do some simple arithmetic: (I used to teach elementary math y’all, these are the only math terms I recall): 

 

When you divide their personality:  1/1 = 1

When you multiply their pressure 1 x 1= 1

When you subtract their substance: 1 - 1 = 0

But when you add to their love: 1 + 1 = 2. 

 

Only one equation adds up to 2. 2 = BinJin. Not 1 Bin or 1 Jin, or the other way around. 1 Bin + 1 Jin = 1 BinJin.

 

Dang, let’s just math that adds up to me. Aw snap, maybe I AM an Asian who’s good at math after all.

 

Please..

COUNT what COUNTS. Subtract what doesn’t. Multiply the positivity. Divide your thoughts between delulu and reality and see if it adds up. And please, always ADD on to their love and ADD fuel to this ship.

Let me support my writing by saying that I have: 1 degree in English Lit and Writing, 1 degree in Psychology,  2 Master’s degrees in education and teaching, 2 years of law school, and 6 months left in an accelerated 1-year nursing degree. So I guess you could say that I'm somewhat literate. 

 

Oh as far as my BinJin references, I also wrote 1 dissertation on “Why BinJin Are the Perfect Match" for my doctorate PhD in BinJinology (dissertation found on pg. 631), I will be opening and teaching a creative writing course soon with 25+ confirmed shippers enrolled so far for BinJin Delulu Creative Writing Seminar 101 in 2 weeks, and have written 2 love poems, one about RiRi in CLOY and one about BinJin in RL (RL = Real Life, not Ralph Lauren just to clarify ) [RiRi CLOY poem found on pg. 708 and BinJin poem found on pg. 746].
