HB's speech was soooo full of admiration, respect and LOVE for his girlfriend. As an actor, he could have included YJ on the part where he thanked his colleagues just like in his past speeches. But no, he even went out of his way to share his moment with YJ, acknowledging her talent so he can be the best version of himself. HB is indeed the good person we all thought he is. A man worthy of that award and his woman's pride and honor.

As for SYJ, she is as bubbly and appreciative as expected. Contented, happy, blessed, who couldn't ask for more.

Always nice to celebrate victories for this couple no matter how big or small. Clearly, they inspire and bring out the best of each other. They are winners in life, career and love. It really pays to be good.

Wow what a roller coaster ride it was..From cursing APAIN for wasting our $11 to swooning over Hyun Bin's speech..It was a unique experience.. Congratulations Hyun Bin for snatching that Daesang..

 

I remember how we were always upset abt the CLOY snub and crying over Binnie being robbed again and again for his role as captain Ri..But wow!! Good things happen with good people.. Now Best boy has one popularity (voted by fans), KPCC award (given by President) and finally the most prestigious acting prize for an award show Daesang..for his role in CLOY.. Although i m still a bit upset abt Yejin and the drama award but atleast we got something that too from a korean award show..

 

We know Binjin were both fabulous in playing their characters for CLOY.. However some people were saying that Son Ye Jin deserved it more because of her role being multidimensional..I respect their opinion but APAN has set some criteria ..Contribution towards Hallyu wave is a major factor in deciding the winner..And as i think they could nominate only one star from a drama, they leaned towards HB..It is well known that although CLOY popularity is due to both Binjin but Hyun Bin already contributed a lot to spread the hallyu wave with his previous projects..Thus Hyun Bin definitely deserves to win although for us Capt Ri = Yoon Seri..

@Seriya I hope , i could answer your question as to why Hyun Bin was billed for CLOY whereas, YJ for Nego..One has got more Hallyu dramas, whereas other was more into movies.

Also as to why Yejin didn't attend?? In my opinion it didn't have much to do with stealing the spotlight.They always keep their professional duty in the forefront.

I think it is mostly because of COVID cases ..plus her award being a just fan voted one didn't make enough sense to take the risk..Even Kim Soo Hyun who won only a popularity award just sent a message.. Although she did attend Baeksang but the winners were not decided unlike Apan. It is always like this with attendance award shows..If you don't get a prize, you don't attend.

 

Now coming back to their speeches..SYJ is such a sweetheart.

.She is always grateful towards her fans..This was the award where she got highest votes even beating the winner in the idol category..Btw , this voting didn't require spending money..All we needed to do was make emails.

Finally...Hyun Bin....aahhh...my heart is still fluttering thinking abt his speech..I was expecting him to take Yejin's name but not that level of praise... He could have just thanked her but no he went on to elaborate how Yoon Seri completed Ri Jeong Hyuk ..It was like he was conveying his message via the drama characters..a perfect answer to her insta post in the best possible way..

Was I the only one who felt as if there were two Daesang winners instead of one??

I have really enjoyed reading everyone’s posts today!  So many comments I kept nodding to in agreement.
 

The more I reflect on Binnie’s speech the more I think it was perfect in how he managed to convey his sincere thanks to his fans and colleagues in a professional and grateful way, and also acknowledged/shared his moment with his best partner in a sweet way without losing the professionalism. That was a lot to pack into an acceptance speech and Binnie did it so well, bravo! 

I just love the tandem of BinJin and how they complement and support each other equally in their own individual way. They each made their own big love gestures: Jinnie through her IG post, and Binnie through his acceptance speech. These actions were public and out of their usual comfort zone which says so much about how they feel about each other. We may not have gotten any PDA but we definitely felt their heart melting sweetness. So much to admire about our classy BinJin couple!

I agree with you, I believe the judges has another criteria for this. 

 

I also want to address some misunderstanding because I see some solo stans being put into the bad light just because of their opinion that "Ye Jin deserved the award more". First of all, they are not saying that Hyun Bin doesn't deserve it. It's only that in their point of view, like what you said, they think So Ye Jin's role has shown multi-dimensional acting. Comparison is inevitable and should not be taken as an offense against Hyun Bin. Take for example a basketball league, one of the players in the winning team gets the MVP award. Regardless of the positions played, the award goes to the one the judges think made a valuable play on the game. Since we all have different opinions, it's understandable that some will vote for Ye Jin as she have the most lines, expressed different emotions all at once, cried the most, etc. But assuming the judges voted for Hyun Bin for portraying a character that is unique in tv dramas, less lines but more warmth, and have perfectly portrayed a man who only looked after one woman which made him loved by the viewers world wide. These we cannot discredit. Yes, comparisons are inevitable inside a team since the people are choosing between them who is the most valuable player. And that is understandable as long as one do not attack the others below the belt. 

 

So i hope other shippers do not generalize and single out solo stans because of the difference in perspective. 

 

For me, I believe both Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin deserved that award. I am so happy for Hyun bin but honestly, I'm a little sad because this is such a MISSED OPPORTUNITY for Ye Jin to get a daesang. This is the only award she haven't took home yet as she is more on movies than tv dramas (daesangs are given to tv dramas except in Baeksang, who have it for both). So I understand why solo Ye Jin stans are so disappointed that she was not nominated on the daesang award.

We may wish that she get another hit tv drama in a local network to get a daesang but reality check, Ye Jin is not a tv drama actress favorite. Maybe because she focused on movies that she declined tv drama offers? Who knows. And haters, used this fact as well. Solo stans know this. So I really really understand why they are sulking and comparison is inevitable. I just want to say this because they are judged because of this. But good things come to those who wait. Let's claim it.

 

So yeah, I hope the ship be peaceful and no be too tight on the reins. Let's all spread love, kindness and empathy!

Back from the weekend madness and now ready for the new week madness. What a way to end the weekend and start the week with such great news about BinJin. I'm super happy and proud of them. They have both really worked hard and deserve all this love and recognition, not only from their fans but also their peers, colleagues, experts and audiences in general. 

 

HB's speech, oh his speech. I don't know what else to say, you all have said what I wanted to say. He's forever humble, respectful and thankful of those he's worked with. And of course, his final thanks to Yejin shows that you don't have to go all crazy with the "I love you" and "I want to thank the love of my life" and all that in public to show your love. People wanted him to write a letter, this is more than enough of a letter. Heck, you don't even need to attend the show together and have all the PDAs to show that you're in love. Just words like how he's said for the entire world to hear is enough. And the fact that he thanked her for perfectly embodying YSR and being RJH's best partner, that it was her who brought RJH alive, not Bin who did so, he's putting her before him again, as always. 

 

I just read a post saying that when Bin thanked the writer, director and CLOY cast, he used "kamsahamnida" which is the formal way of saying thank you. But when he thanked YJ/YSR, he used "gomapda", which is a more informal way, used for your closest people like family. @celest1al I'm not an expert at this, do you want to give a bit of your 2 cents? 

 

Final thoughts:

• I didn't know there's a Best Manager award haha! Congrats to HB's best buddy and VAST for receiving this. It's rare to see such great and loyal friendship that can do business AND be successful together. I love how KKT said how much he loves and appreciates HB, just really show what a beautiful man, inside and outside, HB is. Again, super happy for both of these guys and what they've achieved so far. 
• I could clearly see HB's eye bags and dark circles during his speech :(( I hope he's getting the rest he needs and that he's not overworking himself. Best wishes to his upcoming filming months!

One perk of living in Los Angeles is being able to visit the places SYJ posts on her IG account as she often visits and while Pavilions Newport Beach (setting of the most iconic event in a BinJin shipper's life) is about 45 miles away, many of her posts features my home city.  It will be two years since she posted the tree photo- January 26.  While it could be argued that HB could not have been the one who took the photographs as he was back in SK on the 24th,    there could also be the possibility that he did (e.g.late posting as she often does).  How else can the double heart emoji comment be explained?  She also has an over sized blazer draped over her shoulders (if this was her own blazer, it would not be draped but rather worn as January afternoons even in sunny SoCal could get nippy).

In honor of the upcoming anniversary date of the posting, I  visited the tree today.  This is in front of the Garden Suite Hotel where two years ago her friend's daughter had her first birthday based on a prior posting she had.  The hotel is located in the heart of Korea Town and it is coincidentally across from a Ralph's.  

For those who may not agree that it was HB who took the photo, kindly save your breath and allow me to delulu.  Standing in front of the tree was surreal knowing that SYJ stood in that same spot and HB taking her photograph without her seemingly knowing.  I first visited this tree in June last year when I was month in as a shipper.  I read about it on here and realized I knew exactly where it was located.  Back then I could not understand what the draw of our OTP was.  I was one who was never fazed by celebrity.  And yet there I was doing my journey. 

I thought my interest in them would die down and I could get on with my life once the announcement was made,  But boy was I more wrong!  Based on my reaction from 1/23/21 (22 days after 1/1/21) HB's APAN speech I think I will be a shipper for a long, long time.  I am ready to embrace whatever they are willing to share of their lives.

And for those of you who remember my invite a few pages back to come meet up in LA once travel eases, the offer stands. 

 

I am pretty sure most of you share my sentiments, our love for this couple lives in our hearts and will be there for a very long time.

In CLOY, when Jung Hyuk tells his dad he can't breathe properly before knowing whether or not Se Ri was safe. Now Hyun Bin is thanking Ye Jin for portraying her character so well, thus allowing his character to stand tall and breathe well. 

 

 Isn't that an indirect way for Binnie to say Jinnie has become his motivation in life/reason to breathe and live well?

 

I love the fact that he shows just the right amount of professionalism and affection through his speech. He thanked her as actor to actress, acknowledged her contribution in shaping his character. He doesn't avoid mentioning her just because the world knows they're together, he gives her the credit she deserves.

Listening to KKT’s speech makes me think he loves and adores HB more than his own wife. Lmao. I love a good bromance and it’s so heartwarming to see his past pics hanging out with HB and SYJ. I could imagine the future family gatherings they’ll be having.  
 

I’m honestly a little concerned about HB looking tired look. It’s either they’re doing a lot of Netflix and chillin lol or he might be preparing for a role. He did look a little leaner in the first CA film so he probably is trying to get back to that look before filming starts. He always seems to be serious and quiet unless he’s with Ye Jin then we get to see his sunny personality lol. I love that they seem to really complement each other, they really are perfect together!

Haven't posted here for awhile but have always read and follow everyone's posts here. My heart is still warm and fluttering after APAN (despite the whole mess they made earlier). Have read so many posts about this here and also on twitter and IG. So many heartfelt comments and thoughts, and everyone is so happy for Binjin couple. Somehow their happiness became our happiness.

 

I've read so many posts, but this particular one stood out to me. It is written in chinese and is short but so meaningful. Found it cuz of YJ's new account in xiaohongshu, as this fan was sharing that YJ has weibo and now this new xiaohongshu account.

 

Here's the post, and a simple translation:

There was an article on APAN and the awards today in the South China Morning Post.   I do not know how to attach  or forward it but the headline was:

How happy the phrase  "life partner" makes me.

 

Just a thought regarding the comments on Hyun Bin looking grey under the eyes -  firstly he seems to be losing weight (for Confidential Assignment?), the the lightning was not great, and thirdly he does not seem to be using make up  for these award shows (as opposed to filming).
