@krystal  it was very obvious that HB was a no-go topic! How does one not discuss one’s co-star in a drama which is a current mega hit in Japan in a fan meet for Japanese fans?    

 

It was like there was an enormous elephant in the room, but let’s ignore it and hopefully everyone else won’t see it too. 

 

It would be totally normal, in fact expected, to discuss your co-star in your latest worldwide hit drama and say how great it was to work with him, then say we are just friends despite the rumors, if rumors not true!

She took a step back. Probably because media in SK have been too focused on them lately and it made her run back into privacy protection. I remember when she did that little interview with the Japanese publication when they announced this fanmeeting and she mentioned Hyun Bin a few times but then suddenly during this live meeting she made sure to avoid his name or any reference to him.

So the fan meeting is over! Thoughts:

 

1. SYJ looked great! I read a few comments on Twitter that her look was very NK- inspired and that was totally spot on. Her hair looked like the "goodbye" style YSR chose lol 

 

2. The actor who played Pyo Chi Su was the special guest. I think this was a given since he is a fan favourite and the MCs cousin. His singing for SYJ was so cute. I know some were hopeful it might be HB but I thought that was unlikely (parading your personal life during a FM or interview, now THAT would have been perceived as mediaplay). If HB was there it would overshadow the whole thing. I'm sure he will do his own FM for his Japanese fans at some point. 

 

3. The avoidance of discussing HB. SYJ was suspiciously tight-lipped. She only mentioned him when TN was brought up and she basically repeated what we have heard so many times before- that it was too bad they only acted through monitors and they wanted to have more scenes together. And when the MC mentioned the letter HB wrote to the Japanese radio host, SYJ claimed "I think I read the article". Um what  First of all, you "think" you read about it? Second, *sigh* there is nothing wrong with friends sharing information like this with each other and that is likely what happened. It just makes her lie that much more obvious unless she has set up HB on her Google alerts and gets her news about him that way 

 

4. I wish the questions were a bit more "substantial" instead of what she has in her purse (wasn't that also asked during another interview recently?) But I am glad she briefly discussed The Cross movie and that she is on board with that for next year (if all goes well).

She already knew that fan are super curious about Binjin and there would be loads of Binjin-related questions being asked.It is obvious that they are trying to avoid talking about HB/RiRi couple at any cost and i am not surprised lol.But it kinda puzzled me cuz i thought she has been more relaxed and comfortable about sharing their relationship(Baeksang matching outfit/liking spree/ Binjin cake/Smart cf.....) lol but then suddenly tongue-tied whenever someone mentioned HB during this fanmeeting.Maybe this is her fanmeeting so that they avoid any reference to HB so that the focus would be entirely on her

Anyway no one in twitter believed in her answer regarding HB's letter lol .I feel the same way when i watched the clip...so obvious that she is super nervous lol

The look in Ye-jin’s eyes when HB’s letter was mentioned was the same one she had at the CLOY press conference when she was asked if they talked about the drama before accepting their roles. You aren’t fooling anyone, Yejinssi. LOL

 

But seriously though, it’s easy to see how SYJ’s lasted this long in K-ent with very little scandal and issues to her name. The way she and her team handled the fan meeting gave very little room for any speculations about her personal life and HB in particular. They obviously know everyone wants her to talk about him but less talk, less speculation, less media attention. She knows that even if she talked about HB in the context of CLOY and RiRi, some people will still talk about their dating rumors. But her nervous stutter when asked about HB’s letter gave her away. Hahaha she didn’t see that question coming.

The actor who played PCS's singing was really nice.  SYJ's favourite song sounds like quite a sad song though.  Maybe it's one she listens to when trying to get in the mood for melo scenes lol.  She was still really into the song here.  It was fun to see these two actors together again though it's always jarring to see the actor and not the PCS character.  They are such good actors they seamlessly slipped back into character when they reenacted a scene.

 

The questions could have been more fresh and fun and interesting, but recycled questions from past interviews is often the case.

 

I hope The Cross happens and that it's a good script and a challenging character deserving of her talents.

 

I had no expectations or assumptions that HB would be discussed by SJY so I am not disappointed.  As I said before the fan meeting, she is a very private individual and a fan meeting is also not the forum to expect revelations if there are any to be had imo.  If you have your shipper lens on, it's easy to see things one way.  But if you have them off, you may find you see them another way.  When you've worked so hard for your own career and to stand on your own with your own identity and to maintain your privacy, I don't think anyone would want attention to be focused on their private life, any relationship or rumours with another individual.

A lot can happen till April that is why I am not surprised she said she is still in talks and hope it goes well. As it has happened in the past before for her, when a project falls through due to schedule change, script change or something else. 

 

Plus we are still in covid pandemic right now.

 

I hope they can eventually go on a trip. Otherwise, where else can one go on a trip? Travel around Korea?

YJ did not mention HB in her Smart interview and her fan meeting, not in the intro video make me wonder if YJ really read the caption of that BinJin Baeksang photo which read "Are you dating?" like we thought before she liked it? She liked many of her photos on that day too, so did she read every caption of every single photo? 

 

I myself only see and like photos but rarely read captions on IG.

I think if any confirmation coming it will start with the Man, HB himself... same what they did when they answered the dating question during CLOY presscon, the one who initiate to talk or give their statement was HB, they will do it in SK, and for me that is the proper way.

I don't think anyone is actually calling her a liar - all actors sometimes say little white lies to protect their privacy. Don't most of us do that in our lives as well?

 

Are you referring to the photo caption that read "tell me you are dating?". Unlike the other posts she liked that night, that one was actually written in Korean so the likelihood she didn't read or understand what it meant is low, IMO.

People need to realize this is her FM not a BinJin FM too.From here you can see that it’s obvious BinJin is not for mediaplay/fanservice too.I’m glad BinJin doesn’t follow the route of previous k-couple (who ended up real but ended up splitting up too).I think BinJin knows how to protect their relationship too.Our lowkey and mature couple.
 

YJ and HB also have different ways to handle things...the way they handle questions about eachother for their solo interviews are exactly the same on how they handle it while they answer questions during CLOY PressCon.

HB tend to ended up spilling more without realizing it and YJ would go stiff/nervous very out of character but somehow making it more obvious too.

It’s about those lunch times during TN filming lol And she did mentioned briefly about RJH...when the radio host mentioned about the Bike Scene.I’m a little disappointed with the lack of Dooly Scenes discussion but she actually have answered all the questions during the written Interview so...It was fine for me.

 

- Some people are disappointed because they have high expectations and once again they’re not a reality show couple that will constantly give you the things you’re wishing for.That’s their personal lifes.

Jokes apart..no-one is calling YJ a liar..It is just that her behaviour is different in public when it comes to her relationship..I personally feel she doesn't have any problem when being linked to HB  in private (courtesy to her liking spree,SYA liking their pic, posting a Binjin cake ,saying yes to smart when she has dozens of other foreign cfs waiting at her doorsteps and many more)..

I mean who will directly question her for her insta activities ..and nor did we get to see her answering why she particularly chose only smart(Miss Jane didn't share that video)..

 

However when it comes to a live interview,things become different.. because she can't be saved from eagle eyed fans who will analyse her each and every facial expression. So why not altogether avoid the whole topic..

I think she wanted to emphasize on the in talks. She must be serious about it as she is polishing up her English. I think she will plan on do it unless something falls through later in regards to the project. That is why she isn't saying she is definitely doing it as anything can happen by then.

 

I like that she is enjoying more time being at home. Relaxing, watching TV and playing phone games. I wonder what kind of phone games she is playing lol. Exactly! Why not let them talk and listen to what they want to actually say, instead of what we want them to say. Most of the time what is left unsaid, has more weights and more obvious than what has been said. Also, for the record Yejin never discloses her private life, why would people expect her to do it now, on a FM? Seriously!

Ditto! The fact that they tried really hard not to put the spotlight on them is more telling. Trying to be a normal couple in their world is like finding a needle in a haystack. They deserved their own truth. They will know when it’s time and so will us. So, let’s give them a break!

I have a notion that this fan meeting has been discussed thoroughly by hyun bin and son ye jin before its air..to think of it, the meeting was postponed for almost a month until hyun bin came back to south korea till he finished his quarantine period. Questions had been submitted prior to the online fm so everything was scrutinized and sorted out and rehearsed. I dont feel bad about it since what we see on live screen is different from her  instagram. SYJ migth avoided Hyun Bin to be the topic on her fan meet but Hyun Bin is always one of her subjects in her personal intagram account. Our Hyun Bin still one of the luckiest guy out there to be seen a lot on her Ig  and to be the first man to get scandal with her,. The fact that this precious lady who had never scandal issues of dating . To those who are saying that YJ is tired to this man, they are wrong..She did post recently a picture where hyun bin is being associated with her .She loves Hyun Bin very much and vice versa thus they really want to privitize their relationship to its maximum.

Another thing is Ye jin just answers those questions spicifically and accurately. If the questions being asked about Be With You or Su Ji Sub, are your answers would be about Hyun Bin? Common sense wise.

About the 3 favS scene in cloy, as what ive known from  the other sites, the questions were 3 comedic scenes happened in the filming..why should she includes the goodbye scene at the border line where that scene is very tragic for riri?. so with the candle scene?.and the sujo as well?..

Her statement about enjoying so much  their switzerland filming is indirectly saying that she likes it so much since those scenes were concentrated purely on the grown up love story of RiRi (binjin) on a beautiful scenery..The ending was even filmed happilly but it ended up to be modified but satisfactorily. 

The presentation of the letter of hyun bin to that japan reporter was perhaps unexpected  gest to her thats why she got startled. But actually, it gives  a good vibe  and weigth a lot to me..(unrehearsed)....and i dont want to elaborate why it sounds good to me...

Mentioning her fave part on STTR, the story is a romance drama so she picked the scene that she enjoyed most. Still her answers were collaborately exact based on the questions ..Her partner in that drama is somewhat a newbie actor so she just want to uplift him more in the industry . In doing that, it doesnt mean that she got tired of the man she adored with(HYUN BIN) .  

Just see her sweet smile when they mentioned the name HYUN BIN!!!!!

 

Hyun bin and Son Ye Jin is quite in a deep deep serious relationship.! Gosh!

Smart chose some BinJin/YJ Philippine fans to share YJ's Smart interview with before they sent to MSTeam for approval, so I saw that interview. YJ did not choose to answer any question about HB at all while HB talked about YJ half of the interview time.

 

We have not yet seen a join BinJin CF yet, so if there is one or just seperate CFs of HB and YJ.

 

This is not the first time YJ has a dating rumour with her costar. If you search YJ and KNG in Korean, there are many photos and articles about their dating rumour.
