And Song Yoona liking Binjin's pic with that caption proves Binjin is real imo....she must know the truth about Binjin and she wouldn't go liking that pic if Binjin are not yet together. If Binjin are still close friends (literally) after two years and still nothing further happened between them, then most likely nothing will happened between them....then why would Song Yoona like that post? Isn't it kinda impolite to "push" your best friend to a guy she has no intention of being together with even after a few years of being close? So the only thing that makes sense to me why she liked that post is because Binjin ARE together!

To be honest I was a little bit skeptical about just one negative trait of HB's personality which may break a relationship. But I can see that he has changed for YJ and I hope he will continue to do so. I know many men change one of their negative traits after they met the right woman.

That's a bit tricky question..

Hmm..Song Yoon Ah is Son Ye Jin's REAL bf but she is in SHOWBIZ as well..

I guess it is even better that she is from showbiz..Just think of it ..she is a veteran actress and the oldest amongst the rest of the Cinderella..She really knows the implications behind her actions..and how it would affect the stars, especially given the number of rumours  around HB's dating life in the last 2 years.

Also ,why would she like to associate her friend with a person if her friend is not interested in him..

I guess I owe HB an apology. I knew he could sing. Can't take that away from him but all the dance moves I'd seen of his showed there was much to be learned. I think many of us can agree on that. I think he and others in the entertainment business tend to recognize it too. I noticed even in Spin Kick he wasn't added into his team's group routine until others showcased their more elaborate personal dance skills. He was then blended into the basic dance steps routine.  My Lovely Sam Soon , etc. are other cases where he doesn't seem pressed to dance. Which brings me to my point. You can imagine how shocked I was when I came across this video where he actually did a mime routine and better showcased his moves. The transition was so quick in the video that I thought a commercial had been dropped in the middle of the video. It took me a few seconds to recognize it was him  but I figured it out with his body build and mannerism before he was unmasked. The video also contains some other pictures and scenes you might not have seen and, of course, it contains some of the ones we have come to recognize as the go-tos. Our OTP is definitely like layers of an onion or Russian babushka dolls . There's always something else to discover. I enjoy discovering the little tidbits. Great job!  I hope we'll see such an in depth interview with her in the English language edition of such magazines one day because surely CLOY and hopefully The Cross has a global reach.

 

I love how she laughs easily, can laugh at herself too, is such a hard worker, humble and always grateful for her blessings.  She has the balance between a private person but also coming across as candid and authentic and down to earth in interviews.  I'm glad she can feel more relaxed in her 30s after the pressure of her 20s. I love 30s SYJ even more.  It's quite amazing that she's still with the same manager who discovered her. They took a chance on each other way back when and they are still loyal to each other 20 years later.  And indeed, there's something to be said for having people you trust by your side who've been with you since the beginning and know you from way back when. That's priceless.  And it's very cool that she has such strong friendships with a group of female actresses who can support and be each other's sounding board especially in such an industry.  These friendships take effort and trust to build over time but it's so worth it.  I'm tired of the narrative of women tearing down each other (cough fandom cough) instead of being kind and there for each other. 

 

I really enjoyed reading SYJ thoughts on her various works and on acting in general.  I feel she has got a good perspective on her career, a good work ethic, and a determination to keep challenging herself, always thinking about what she could do better and keeping it fresh, all of which contribute to her success and longevity.  And I really like her perspective on ageing.  She doesn't shy away from it and embraces her age.  I don't know if it's tiresome for actresses to always be asked such age questions when male actors don't quite get it the same way.  I look forward to what deeper acting she can bring us that comes with more life experience.

It's one of my fave interviews actually! This was early days of filming so maybe he hadn't seen YSR's growth yet. When RJH first meets her she comes off a bit spoiled and materialistic. But the latter comments came after the drama ended so maybe upon reflection, he now views YSR as being perfect/wonderful/beautiful and warm-hearted.

 

I actually really love HB's comment about SYJ that she said what was on her mind but without being obnoxious about it (think those were the subs I read). I like that trait in a person and I love a guy who loves a woman who speaks her mind. In a way, I think it's more wonderful for HB and SYJ to have grown closer in their 30s when they've both matured some more.  HB has moved away from thoughts of a traditional Korean wife when he was younger, to embracing and respecting a woman who works hard for her career and dreams.  I don't think SYH could be with anyone who didn't wholeheartedly support her acting career.  And HB comes across as a fully supportive, secure guy who isn't afraid to let his female partner shine.  In fact, I think SYJ's talent as an actor was one of the things that first drew HB to her. (Has he ever said something similar about another female costar's acting that gave him chills/surprised him basically?)  And for SYJ, I think she would have been too focused on building her career in her 20s to date seriously (same for HB), then she got past the 30s stage where you feel pressured to marry/settle for someone.  HB may have come along when she least expected, especially a fellow actor.  Whatever their relationship, it is indeed nice to see HB be so lively and laugh so much and to see SYJ tease him and them just so warm and comfortable with each other.

 

This is probably a minority opinion but in all the CLOY BTS I saw them warm and comfortable with each other, but always professional in that I didn't see anything romantic nor did I think that the workplace is the right place for that.  Of course we only saw a fraction of bts.  We swoon at scenes in a drama but in reality, there are always a million people around them on set, which I think takes the romance and privacy right out of it.  They both take their work seriously.  I would expect nothing less than complete professionalism from seasoned actors like them.

Even when Seri was bragging about her money, the scenes were funny.  And then of course we saw how generous she was too.  And yes, like you said, Seri was an active driver in her own journey, be it in work or love.  Come to think of it, Pyi Chi So's poem kind of summed up the Seri character well lol.  I would love to see SYJ play strong, empowered female characters again in the future.

 

I've read that the majority of writers in Kdramas (not sure about Korean films?) are women, which is different from the norm in Hollywood. I would think more women writers definitely lends to more well developed female characters.

Out of curiosity, can I ask what trait of HB's you are referring to?  

 

As HB said, there are real parts of each actor in each character they portray.  I can't say to what extent he's thinking of SYJ when he compliments YSR, but he's complimented both well enough lol.  I don't have a basis for comparison so has HB been so forthcoming with compliments for other female costars in the past?

 

I like to enjoy these actors' relationship/friendship without any drama or pressure or expectation even, just go with their flow, whatever they are comfortable with and are happy to share.  So announcement or no, it's all fine by me.

There is no timetable for happiness except to seize the moment.

But I don't know if I have a happy experience the more I hear the tune  Yea I heard it in a Gong Yoo Body Shop CF video before I had come across the one of HB attending the event in 2018 lol. One thing for sure with them the tune I always find it in HB videos but no other ones of her (so far lol)

Awww that's so cute of him to cry in Jinnie's movie.  After CLOY and TN, that's the movie I watched before The Classic.  I too cried. It was a sad love story but my first time to see such plot so I was moved by it. I'm glad he got to see her in their younger years although I don't recall whether if Yejin had a chance to go to one of his movie premieres back in those days.  In their 20-yr career, these two have sooo much to catch up with each other. They won't run out telling each other their stories for many many years

It's really amazing though how it took them almost 20 years to finally have a project together. SYJ has done movies or CFs with actors from Hyun Bin's circle but never with him. She's also friends, or at least acquaintances, with some actresses that he'd work with. It almost seemed like fate kept them from working together in the past so that when they finally do, it would be so worth it for them personally and for their careers.

A Korean HB fan posted the Korean version of his ANAN Japanese interview. It’s actually super long, so I don’t really have time to translate it all, but this is my translation of what Hyun Bin said regarding Yoon Se-ri at least. I tried to be comprehensive. 

 

And like he’s mentioned multiple times...YSR and SYJ are 100% in sync so... 

 

 

What do you think of an independent/self-reliant woman like Yoon Se-ri, played by Son Ye-Jin, as someone of the opposite sex?

 

Hyun Bin: Ser-ri is honest (frank) about her feelings (emotions) and strives to be loyal (resolute, ambitious) in both work and love without hesitation. Moreover, she thinks about (considers) others and possesses warmth. I think she is the ideal (perfect, excellent, most wonderful) woman.*
