So because of my excitement about Hyun Bin's arrival, I talked to my husband about Son Ye Jin. (He already knew I'm shipping her with HB)

Told her she's a well-respected actress, very pretty, and also has a great personality, and HB respects her so much. 

He then said "Ahhh, well, seems like he is never letting her go. She sounds like a catch!"

Coming from a man... ahhhhh... I'm sure HB feels the same way.

For now I just spoke about the facts as for many other incidences different ships can have different perceptions. But it is sickening to see people twisting facts and feeding white lies.

 

This is confusing to me. I get that not all HB and SYJ fans are into shipping (or may ship them with others, which is totally fine) but I question those who would downplay or outright ignore the success of a project like CLOY. Both HB and SYJ worked their butts off for 7 months bringing this project to life, and spoke very highly of their experience. They thanked fans profusely at Baeksang for their support and love for the project. Because of CLOY they both also received more international endorsements. Even if its not your favourite drama of theirs, no true fan of either of them would disregard or downplay the success of this drama.

Who would think he would not like CLOY and have problems talking about CLOY.. He has been fine talking about CLOY since June (metro style). He was aware of Phillipines and their huge fanbase - plus Phillipines loving their love couples. If he had an issue of any of this, then he would definitely not have chose Phillipines and endorse TWO brands - SMART and Bench. He could have decided to choose something else. It is not his fault he was busy working on Bargaining - plus COVID happen or else he would have done more interviews I am sure on this. Did he even get around to do an interview for his Arab fans while in Jordan? Back in the day, yes he thought it was weird when people would call him his character name instead of his actual name. However, this issue he had is now FAR IN HIS PAST. If someone decided to call him Gookie oppa now or Sam Shik - he would not have an issue with this. So people calling him Captain Ri or RJH would not be an issue either. Plus all the branding on Bench designs link back to CLOY - ex. Captain T shirt.

 

 

 

Recently, Jinnie won the Hallyu Best Actress Award. It was mentioned on twitter this is her 50th award. We were saying she is the Nicole Kidman of South Korea because they both also like Nicole Kidman. She is an award winning actress with numerous awards from movies, tv and theatre. Jinnie had said before she wanted to act till she was old. So does that mean she should be the Meryl Streep of South Korea? As we know whenever Metryl Streep is nominated especially for an Oscar, she always wins. Does she expect to win? No  Does Jinnie always expect to win? No - She also much rather have her friends or other people in the industry to win over her. Does he have an issue with her winning more awards? No.. because he always says to watch the movie or drama for her. He looks up to those actresses as mentioned this during Snow Queen as well - he learns a lot from them. He constantly says how much he learned from working with Jinnie. I am sure he applied what he learned from her while filming Bargaining.  He keeps saying how he liked that whenever Jinnie had ideas how to film stuff she would actually bring it up. Maybe this is something he didn't do before. However, this definitely intrigued him because he said that was what he would find attractive and what was similar between YSR and Jinnie  Her acting has intrigued him since The Negotiation time since his most memorable moment from filming and why he kept teasing her after was the fact she didn't swear and yell after Min Tae Gu killed the chief. She kept her composure and you could see the emotion through her eyes and how she acted the scene out instead. They were just acting through monitors and you could feel their chemistry/ you forget they are actually not in the same room (until the very last scene). It made them want to act together again. Also Jinnie had hinted that they could have acting in project(s) before too. It was him that turned them down  Didn't feel like he was ready to work with her yet? However, the fact Binnie was interested to be in The Negotiation as Min Tae Gu was the reason why she wanted to get cast in the movie 

 

 

Yes they didn't technically have any scenes together during Secret Garden time but she was also on the show in the season finale (cameo) and it was the show's highest ratings of 31-38% (rounding it). I would say the average ratings from the show was between 20-38% range. Yes it was not like My Name of Kim Sam Soon (where the ratings were 50%). His favorite drama he worked on before CLOY was Secret Garden and he said for CLOY he hoped for 22% ratings which it did end up reaching. Plus also has global success and continue to have buzz now  - And it is September 

 

 

They have known each other closely now for more than 3 years. They have crossed paths with each other through their 17-20 year career whether they had realized back then or not. They definitely knew of each other and their works because for instance Jinnie had brought up My Name Is Kim Sam Soon in 2005 time while promoting April Snow. Plus they have so many mutual close friends in common - just one person that could have connected them to each other before. They were crossing paths with each other before 2014 PIFAN. They probably never really said hi to each other back then which is why Binnie refers to their official meeting was at PIFAN and she refers to their official meeting was TN filming time. 

 

 

Plus they live not far from each other and both love to run and bike around Han River. (Maybe their Han River crossing paths is like It's Okay That's Love when GHJ's character falls down to the ground when she sees JIS's character jog by )

To be frank, based on the interviews ,like many interviews, binnie likes and loves CLOY  perhaps the most and the best. He always mentioning his behalf no other than Son Ye jin and he portrayed Captain Ri because of her. If am no mistaken, it was even Binnie who asked the production that Ye Jin is very well appropriate as Yoon Seri..How could he hated Cloy the most the fact that he is pairing with an actress he was longing to act With via the same space and breath the same air..which infact  that he  was  even very excited and inspired working  at CLOY ..Imagine, working hard with your good friend who is a multiawarded actress, very charming with soft and feminine voice , attractive in all sort of angles, a respectable  actress in the industry?. How could  one says that Cloy is the most hated drama by hyun bin?..it makes me laugh out loud! I think the worst drama which binnie did and regret was his lowest rating drama.. I have  even known that binnie and co returned their talent fees since the drama was totally flopped.

Thank God our drought is over....I have a feeling more good stuff are coming our way this September 

I'm not sure if HB can meet YJ straight away or does he have to way til his quarantine is over? either way I'm so happy he's back in SK. I bet they are going to have some quality time for two weeks now.

Honestly i have to disagree with you.HB so-called" flopped" "low rating" dramas are actually very good(except for that controversial drama he did in 2015).At that time World Within had low ratings not because of its quality .It is very realistic and different from most dramas at the same year,so probably most pp are unfamiliar with it.The drama aged quite well and gain a cult following over the years.Another excellent drama i wanna add is Friend Our legend.Up until now i still get upset because the information of this drama is very limited on the internet and HB did not even get a nomination at award even though this is one of his best and memorable role in his career so far.The drama is fairly difficult to watch,but it is definitely worth watching.
