South Korean actress Son Ye-jin regrets not being able to see her fans in the Philippines.

Restrictions designed to minimize the spread of COVID-19 have resulted in people spending more time at home, sometimes binge-watching fun escapist TV fare, such as the Korean drama Crash Landing On You. The drama stars actress Son Ye-jin as a South Korean heiress who accidentally lands in North Korea and falls for a North Korean officer, played by Hyun Bin. The drama was filmed before the pandemic prompted cancellations and quarantines. Since then Son, like most people, has spent more time than usual at home.

 

“I realize that I really like traveling,” said Son. “Seeing how frustrated I feel when I can’t go. Traveling to Africa is one of my bucket list destinations. I miss friends living abroad the most.”

 

The pandemic curtailed work-related  travel, including fan events.

“It’s true that I’m worried about a lot of people gathering,” said Son. “I also canceled some filming schedules when the coronavirus first started.

Son recently became the face of a mobile services campaign.

Son was set to travel to the Philippines to participate in an advertising campaign for Smart Signature mobile services, but the pandemic forced her to film the campaign closer to home. The actress regrets missing a chance to visit the Philippines and meeting her fans there.  

 

“I’ve been there a few times,” said Son. “I went on a family trip. It was a long time ago, but I remember it was so good. Nature was the most beautiful.”

The Smart Signature ad, eventually filmed in Korea, shows Son riding a gleaming motorcycle and promoting the mobile services in polished English. Filming the ad took all night, but Son describes the experience warmly.

“The staff clapped for me at the end of each cut, so it was funny and I felt energized,” said Son. “We took it until dawn, but it was less tiring.” 

 

Son is using her extra time indoors wisely, keeping up with her regular workouts, while trying to eat healthy. Relaxing is another important way to recharge, and the star of some binge-worthy k-dramas also enjoys the occasional entertainment marathon.

“I sometimes watch Netflix NFLX -2.7%,” said Son. “I tend to binge-watch. All I need is a sofa and a TV on my day off. And also my smartphone.”

Even if fans can identify with the way Son spends her down time, it might be hard to convince them that she is, as she insists, quite ordinary. Her most recent drama, Crash Landing On You, is the third-highest rated drama in Korean cable television history and because the tvN drama aired internationally on Netflix, Son attracted an even wider fan base.

 

“I never think of myself as an international or global actor,” she said. “I’m so amazed and grateful that Crash Landing On You has created a lot of international fans.”

 

Son was already a star before Crash Landing On You, previously appearing in the dramas Something In The Rain with Jung Hae-in, Don’t Look Back: The Legend of Orpheus with Kim Nam-gil and Personal Taste with Lee Min-ho. She can also be seen in the recent films Be With You with So Ji-sub, The Negotiation, also with Hyun Bin, and The Last Princess with Park Hae Il.

The actress is thankful for her fans’ ongoing support. 

 

“Your support gives me so much strength, and I always thank you,” said Son. “Thank you for sending me so many letters, flowers, cakes, gifts, and many more and I will surely repay you with a good project!”

See the video posted below from CLOY - my first thought on the close up was, wow, no nose hairs! I know, boring me .  Then reading the comments, someone mentioned “tongue”! I really need a magnifying glass but there is some tongue action near the end - wished video closeup was longer. Now, a tongue kiss is very intimate and definitely deserving of a slap if Binjin not, ahem, close!

no because that just confirms I was right. That was the trip plan for this year but because of covid. It messed up their plans. So she's back to mentioning Africa yet again 

 

Hope she finally gets to visit Africa soon. All the animals she put on her DIY calendar lol. At least Binnie narrated Tears of Africa documentary late 2010. His closest connection to Africa lol

Maybe you can ask the person who owns that Twitter account what they are taking about? These seem to just be baseless rumours and not worth dissecting and taking seriously.

Actually I did reply. And I didn’t think QueenieBee was being bossy. I thought she was being helpful and giving you suggestions on how to get your answers.

 

Being bossy is someone who thinks they know what BinJin actual plans/thoughts are and telling other shippers they are wrong. All we have here are clues or what we think are clues, so any person’s opinions/thoughts/etc. of the clues could be right unless it is factually proven to be incorrect. None of us here know BinJin’s actual  thoughts or plans.

Sorry if you interpreted my response as suggesting you can't discuss it. I simply meant the tweet doesn't provide any information to really dissect - like where it  came from or what its based on. So its kind of baseless in that sense? I think only the Twitter user knows what it's about. 

 

There are so many tweets like that lately. Some are just joking around (like the ICBM thing) and others are trying to just get a rise out of people. I think if there is a rumour with some merit to it or actual confirmed news we'll know it

No one is telling anyone what they should or should not believe in regards to what's on sns. It's just a lot of sns activity has been similar stuff like this which we can't confirm where their original source is from. Ex. Binnie and his Bargaining film schedule - when he's actually flying out or when filming was complete. I've never been so confused over everything that keeps coming up the last few weeks lol. I feel like now his MOTA film schedule was more easier to follow. This goes from articles from navar, updates from filming Jordan etc. So many conflicting information than you get sns filming updates which makes things even more confusing. Plus people saying they flew out which wasn't true in the end lol

I haven’t been here for awhile ....things have changed .

 

I feel we getting somewhere , either sooner or later . In the end it won’t matter much because of the outcome . 
 

Twitter is a place where there are no mods , people can tweet whatever they like based on their personal view on something they found , it doesn’t necessarily mean anything and if it does , you can always DM the person to verify . My motto has always been : crumbs or not keep them off public eyes because damage was done before and we don’t wanna repeat the same story . But at this point we have the whole cake and awaiting the candles , do we need to put anything more on the cake ? It’s nearly complete , they just need to fire the candles . But the amount of different places Twitter , Instagram, etc we have a lot of information that sometimes is lost in the translation or we read it wrong . We can read and make our own judgement but keep several things in mind always . Majority of several “ vague “ tweets are not substantial unless proven otherwise . Everyone can write or interpret things differently, doesn’t mean they are wrong , doesn’t mean they are right . 
 

Im glad YeJin is back in interview mode , especially reading her way of thinking is always a delight of how down to earth she is . 
 

PS : can we make sure to keep up with the rules of not quoting images videos etc .
