The music director for the drama is Nam Hye Seung, she is a very renowned music director. She's Korean but based out of Europe (not 100% sure). I think CLOY background score was recorded in Netherlands with a team of musicians from all over the world. I absolutely love the BGM of CLOY, there's a unique music for every emotion and every time I hear the music I feel all those emotions.

 

But music directors in K dramas don't work like they do in Bollywood movies, where they're in charge of all music related to the drama. Here she did only the BGM and Sigriswil, if I am not wrong. Other songs were all singles released by different artists for the drama

@CartPusherInLA  it did come into my mind more recently when I went back to her pics then and noticed tulips/flower bouquet on July 8? And then I wondered it was from him  I did mention before he could have done June 25-July 3 based on the pics and someone mentioned they were posted late  I was like fine.. I was trying to help since people want him to have visited her  Regardless now looking back, if he did have a week off in between filming. He could have done it. Plus seems like they both could have come back around the same time to SK if that were the case then lol.

 

I don't know why this never clicked to my brain before. I just realized when she attended Baeksang on May 3 2017, she wore that beautiful dress I liked lol.. This was the same month they were in talks for TN before it was officially confirmed on May 18. No wonder Binnie was even more surprised she cut her hair when they met first day on TN set/script reading (or for food) which ever happened first lol

According to the movie industry on the 6th, Son Ye-jin recently decided to appear in the Hollywood movie Cross and is preparing details. Cross is a movie about people between poor and rich countries in the background of a fictional multi-racial future divided nation. Director Andrew Niccol, who directed The Host and Good Kill, catches the megaphone.

Son Ye-jin plays the role of Vera who's from a poor country and lives near the border. When her husband tries to escape and dies, she becomes a strong woman who raises her son alone. Son Ye-jin's counterpart is Avatar star Sam Worthington, who's well-known in Korea. Sam Worthington plays a wealthy countryman.

It was reported that director Andrew Niccol was inspired by Cross last year to visit Korea, the only divided country on the planet. Because of this, he said he wanted to build a set in Korea to shoot a movie and work with a Korean actor. During this process, it was known that he sent a love call to Son Ye-jin, the best actress in Korea.

As a result, Son Ye-jin appeared in a Hollywood movie, making the filmography more colourful. Son Ye-jin has been working in various projects including Chinese as well as Korean work.

Meanwhile, Cross aims to start shooting in Korea next March. It is said that director Andrew Nicole had been thinking about shooting Korean separately from COVID-19, but North America appreciates that COVID-19 is serious, but that filming in Korea is normal.

Son Ye Jin may be gearing up for her Hollywood debut!

On July 6, Korean media outlet Star News reported that according to sources in the movie industry, Son Ye Jin has been confirmed to star in the upcoming Hollywood film “Cross.” The actress is said to be starring in the movie opposite Sam Worthington, who is best-known for his roles in “Avatar” and the “Clash of the Titans” film series.

“Cross” will be directed by Andrew Niccol, who is known for his sci-fi movies like “In Time,” “The Host,” and “Gattaca”—and for being the writer behind the famous 1998 film “The Truman Show.” The movie will be set in the future, in a multiracial country divided into two nations by a border. “Cross” will tell the story of the people caught in between these two nations, one of which is wealthy and one of which is impoverished.

According to the report, Son Ye Jin will be playing the role of Vera, a tough woman who lives near the border in the impoverished nation. After her husband dies during an attempt to escape across the border, Vera is left alone to raise her son on her own as a single mother. Sam Worthington will reportedly be playing a man who lives in the wealthy nation.

Although “Cross” has been in development for over a decade, Andrew Niccol recently became interested in filming the movie in Korea and with Korean actors after visiting the country last year for inspiration (due to Korea’s current status as the “the only divided nation in the world”). He is also said to have personally reached out to Son Ye Jin in the hopes of casting her for the film.

Star News reports that “Cross” is currently aiming to begin filming in Korea in March 2021.

Son Ye Jin and Lee Sun Gyun are preparing to make their Hollywood debut in new movie Cross, starring Sam Worthington and directed by Andrew Niccol.

 

According to an exclusive report from Star News, Son Ye Jin will star in Cross opposite Sam Worthington, who is known for his roles in Avatar as Jake Sully and Clash of the Titans as Perseus. Avid FPS video gamers may also recognize him as the voice of Alex Mason in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series. A second exclusive report from Star News stated that Lee Sun Gyun was also offered a role in Cross, and he is seriously considering his options.

 

Cross will be directed by Andrew Niccol, famous for his science-fiction movies such as In Time, Gattaca, and The Truman Show. Cross is a futuristic movie where a multiracial country gets split into two. It will tell the story of people stuck between the two nations, where one side is poor and one side is wealthy.

 

Son Ye Jin would play the role of Vera, a tough woman who lives near the border inside the poor nation. After her husband dies trying to escape to the wealthy side, she is alone, trying to raise her son as a single mother. Lee Sun Gyun would play the role of Gideon, the charismatic leader of the border defense team.

 

Currently, both Son Ye Jin and Lee Sun Gyun are positively considering the offers for roles in Cross, but neither actor has confirmed their appearance yet.

 

Cross has been in development for over 10 years, but Andrew Niccol  became interested in incorporating Korean elements after visiting South Korea in 2019 for inspiration, as Korea is the only divided nation in the world. He personally contacted Son Ye Jin for a role in his movie. Cross is expected to begin filming in Korea in March 2021.

@ednamode101that is awesome news!  Hollywood is in dire need of a female Asian representation.  Who better to break the mold than our Queen!!! Hopefully this will not get in the way of her personal decisions as she is pushing 40 and it will be harder to start a family if that is the course she chooses.  Just my personal opinion.

I think it's part of CLOY OST. The song was produced especially for this drama. 

 

The title of the song The wind of the day & was produced by Nam Hye Seung, Park Sang Hee feat synchrone stage orchestra. This info I got from YouTube.

@CartPusherInLA I am curious how long the movie will shoot for but I guess we will only find out on a later date. However, knowing that is filming in SK is a good sign  Plus we know Binnie is hoping to be in Philippines early this year (not sure if that will be likely) or most likely early next year.

So marriage be out of the picture for now. We just keep praying and hoping that one day she will consider this wonderful thoughts together with her love of her life. Hope both are doing great.

That earlier news article about her looking into projects in Hollywood indeed turned out to be true!!!

 

CLOY was really that massive! It really got great coverage here in the US (very rare for an Asian drama) and I'm sure that put her in the radar.

I haven't seen any films directed by Andrew Niccol but based on his Wikipedia profile, he made good films tackling different issues, though he's into fictional setting? The movie will be starting filming in MARCH of 2021 and she has not accepted yet. Accepting a big offer like this one? Why would marriage be off the book or why she would deny for marriage? See the problem with this ideation? A woman married means no work??? I think you guys being talking about a different YeJin , she is not the type to marry and settle down with 5 kids doing gardening , women can be independent and work and have a personal life . One doesn't negate the other. Just saying.
