Interesting question, I asked myself that too after reading some thoughts.
My personal opinion is that in their particular case at least, D has been in some way respectful of HB-SYJ’s privacy. My feeling... they already know more but since both of them are very respected professionals in the industry, D is respectful and allowing them some kind of privacy and reducing the use of sensationalism. D been low key and quiet is something that makes me think also that they are in more like a serious relationship, so (like us) they are waiting for their decision to announce something hahahaha.

I see. Apart from binjin, do you generally agree or disagree with what dispatch has been doing so far? In a nutshell what is your opinion of dispatch?

Do you guys want binjin to be exposed by dispatch if they can?

for the sake of understanding, can the sisters here share with me why some of you dislike Dispatch if you understand what Dispatch is really doing?

I read from page 1 since the beginning and I realise the sentiments about dispatch is quite negative.

I am not really sure what Dispatch does. Do they just specialise in stalking celebrities in SK and taking photos and then outing them as a couple? Do they also do other entertainment news and updates and interviews etc and this outing of dating couple is just one part of their coverage? I think if they have some limits like not to photograph people in their carpark or near their house but only outside in public places like restaurants or theatres then it is not so bad.

Actually the grocery pictures are taken by a Taiwanese fan right and not Dispatch, right? And Dispatch does not have anything on them so far maybe they are not that successful with this couple.

I would say if Binjin are going somewhere they know there will be people who may see them like a concert or a popular restaurant, then I guess it is ok as they should be ready and prepared for it.  Because if it is not Dispatch, they could also be photographed and exposed by fans or other members of the public if they go to such public places. Dispatch should not stalk them near their house or have a photographer with a camera to shoot inside their house to expose them....that is too much invasion of their privacy.

In general, I don’t like when there is too much sensationalism and they force actors/actresses to reveal something, they are all humans with feelings. I don’t agree with people following them in private sites (like their homes, it’s impolite and rude). And as a woman, I understand that actresses want to protect their image, because after a relationship is confirmed and if it ends not well, women are always the most affected in their image. Sadly and injuste.

Personally, I don’t. I prefer that they continue respecting their privacy and that they wait for them to be ready to announce something. Wait for them to agree to share the news.

After all, before being a HB-SYJ shipper , I am a true and faithful fan of both (long time HB’s fan, since 2008). I want to protect them both, their images, their wishes and their relationship (close friendship or whatever they want to call it for now). So, in conclusion, I prefer to wait for ages than D forcing them and exposing them without their consent. HB and SYJ have already shared with us so many precious, sweet and swooning moments, so let’s not be greedy. I will keep rewatching everything and waiting patiently

I have really low opinion on dispatch but lately they been low on exposing , maybe because agencies prefer to out their stars love life before a "scandal" comes out. The idea that an idol or actor/actress can't have personal life without labelling it as a scandal and minimize their chances in the industry is outrageous.

For me Dispatch should sit this one out and leave them alone. I think WE as fans shouldn't  encourage dispatch to out them. Let them live their lives, they own us anything. Simple as that. And the articles should tone down as well , especially the ones with zero base regarding their love life. We should respect their privacy , friends or more.

I'd rather we get an announcement from them themselves or their agencies, rather than dispatch tbh.

It's weird, the lack of casting news or any projects about the 2 of them is making me sort of happy, like I genuinely feel they are focusing on the personal aspect of their life.

Many popular stars appear mostly in CFs, they only have a project every few years. Not Binnie & Ye-Jin —  their filmography shows that both of them are active (in a project every year); they said in their interviews that they have been working non-stop without much rest.

Melodrama and romantic comedy are popular genres for TV dramas. It’s totally different in the movie world.

[Korea Herald 3/2018] Despite decades of prevailing in Korean cinema, melodrama appears to have relinquished its crown to darker and grittier thrillers and action films.

[Yonhap 3/2018] Once a sure-fire success formula at Korean cinema, romantic movies are a rarity these days, eclipsed by male-oriented crime thrillers and period flicks.

(Yonhap Interview) 'Melodrama queen' back to silver screen with remake of Japanese romance film

March 09, 2018

SEOUL, March 9 (Yonhap) -- Once a sure-fire success formula at Korean cinema, romantic movies are a rarity these days, eclipsed by male-oriented crime thrillers and period flicks.

Son Ye-jin, a top melodrama star, has long been thirsty for a well-made movie of that genre, as both an actress and viewer, until she encountered "Be With You," her latest title, which is set to open Wednesday.

"I know you love my acting in melodrama movies. I also wanted to see a new one as a viewer," Son said during an interview with Yonhap News Agency at a Seoul cafe. "I missed a film that depicts a pure love story with beautiful images and music, and I had a thirst for that kind of acting as an actor."

Son has earned the moniker "melodrama queen" for her unrivaled position as the top actress in that genre. She starred in many hit movies, such as "Lover's Concerto" (2002), "The Classic" (2003), "A Moment to Remember" (2004).

The actress, who turned 36 in January, says she comfortably filmed "Be With You" partly because it did not have many close-up scenes and she surely knew how to act as she got older.

"When I filmed 'The Classic,' there were lots of things that I didn't know or were too difficult. But this time, I wondered if it's okay to work this easily."

"Be With You" is the Korean remake of a highly successful 2004 Japanese romance about a mother who returns to her family a year after her death. The character of Son's mother, named Su-ah, returns one year after death with the start of the summer rainy season. Losing her memory, Su-ah falls in love with her husband, Woo-jin (played by So Ji-sub), once again, as he recalls his old memories of life with her. But the magical time permitted for their reunion lasts only until the end of the rainy season.

"It starts with the high school days and ranges over dating, marrying, having a baby and the process of parting again. It was different from previous romance movies for comprehensively including thoughts about life."

The actress said the chemistry of lead actors is crucial for a melodrama, to the point that she can even picture a totally different movie depending on who her counterpart is.

"I thought the movie already achieved a half success when So chose to be in it," she recalled. "I handed tissues out to Ji-sub during a media screening for the movie because he wept a lot. I think he was really immersed ... I'm grateful for him."

After the release of the movie, Son is scheduled to return to the small screen, after five years away, with a JTBC TV romance series. Her next movie, whose title roughly translates as "Negotiation," is waiting for a theatrical release later in the year. In the movie, she co-stars with actor Hyun Bin as a police negotiator named Ha Chae-yoon.

"Becoming able to do a melodrama movie means a lot to me even though you may think I'm exaggerating if I describe the feeling as 'moving.' I think I'm blessed."

Quote

I just wanted to ask regarding their statement that it is seldom for actors in korea to have 2 projects in their careers. I havent followed our Binjin much before TN and CLOY..does that mean that SYJ in her 20 years career have different ML in all her projects?

@Riri forever

Son Ye-jin’s works include about 20 movies (her main focus) & 10 TV dramas (most before 2010), she collaborated with these 4 actors twice:

Hyun Bin: The Negotiation (2018) & Crash Landing on You (2019/2020)

Kim Nam-Gil: Shark (2013) & The Pirates (2014)

Kim Joo-Hyuk: My Wife Got Married (2008) & The Truth Beneath (2016)

Cha Tae-Hyun: Lover’s Concerto (2002) & Crazy First Love (2003)

It wasn’t common for stars to work together again, but there seems to be more now.  They don’t necessarily play a couple though.

Spoiler

Eric & Jung Yumi: Que Sera Sera (2007) & Discovery of Love (2014)

Gong Yoo & Jung Yumi: Silenced (2011) & Train to Busan (2016) & Kim Ji-Young Born 1982 (2019)

Jang Hyuk & Jang Nara: Successful Story of a Bright Girl (2002) & Fated to Love You (2014)

Kwon Sang-Woo & Choi Ji-Woo: Stairway to Heaven (2003) & Temptation (2014)

Lee Dong-Wook & Lee Da-Hae: My Girl (2005) & Hotel King (2014)

Lee Joon-Gi & Nam Sang-Mi: Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007) & Gunman in Joseon (2014)

Jang Hyuk & Lee Da-Hae: Robbers (2008) & Chuno (2010) & IRIS II (2013)

Kim Soo-Hyun & Jeon Ji-Hyun: Thieves (2012) & My Love from the Star (2013/2014)

Lee Seung-Gi & Suzy: Gu Family Book (2013) & Vagabond (2019)

Ji Sung & Hwang Jung-Eum: Secret Love (2013) & Kill Me Heal Me (2015)

Park Seo-Joon & Hwang Jung-Eum: Kill Me Heal Me (2015) & She was Pretty (2015)

Lee Dong-Wook & Yoo Ina: Goblin (2016) & Touch Your Heart (2019)

Nope! I want them both to reveal it themselves. I want BinJin to personally do the announcement thing coz I feel like it's more special that way..  I like that D has been quiet all this time about them as I feel like they have high respects for these two actors. And I want them to stay that way.

I don't really like the idea of Dispatch revealing an actor's/idol's love life like they are forcing them to publicize their relationships. As we all know, such news becomes a 'scandal' in k-ent. But I still don't get why an actor/idol's love life becomes a scandal when they are just people like us who would likely want to date and meet people... for me it just doesn't make sense..

Its my first time to post here after lurking for quite some time. First time to join a Shipping Thread and prepared my heart to go through ups and down while being on this BinJin Ship. I'm a Kdrama and Kmovie fan for more than half of my life. I just can't contain how grateful I am on everything that I've read tonight!  I also back read to be informed. There was a recent negativity circulated here and I love that everyone is keeping this Ship fueled enough to reach its destination. Everyone is so active recently to fight the drought. All of the insights and analysis were sooooo amazing! It's like I'm reading a thesis! I really do hope BinJin would gain "Nation's Power Couple" title (married). This is my first time to dig deep actually (for I believe there's a treasure awaits me at the end, haha!). Thank you everyone for all of your efforts for the love of our BinJin Couple.

No, dispatch pictures are a violation of their privacy and it often leads couples to break up or rush into things they aren’t ready yet. We would rather hear from them eventually even if it takes years.

@charray Dispatch is a digital paparazzi. Better known for their relentless efforts on the exposure of celebrities private lives.
When you are caught by them and they choose to expose you with or without prior consent it’s pretty much end game due to their rock solid evidence when presented. Regarding the grocery store pictures, the original sources seem to come from Taiwanese who claimed that they did not see any entourage with them. Just only YJ and HB.

@yoonseri97 I agree it’s a violation but the masses loved and thrive on it. That’s the harsh reality of entertainment.

Thanks for engaging me with your thoughts! And wow you guys are very level headed. If only every other fan thinks like you then dispatch would be defunct by now. I am going to be very objective here.
The fact is for every one of you that would rather have dispatch sit out and willing to wait ages for Binjin to confess if anything, there are at least one hundred others even if they don’t admit who would rather dispatch expose if anything and get it over and done with.
You all must have realized by now how many fans are bored with the non-existent news of them and how many people are complaining that it’s too quiet and they want news. There are always 2 sides of a coin and no media can please everyone.

so if dispatch expose anything, those who want news would rejoice and the ones who respects their private life would feel they have been invaded.

I am sure all of you and even both HB and YJ knows to drag this out would not be constructive to their careers respectively. How can they go on and do another melo with someone else without fingers pointing and people crying a river? Ask yourself this, would you be able to watch them with someone else?

There is no denial the reason why people source everywhere for any content relating to them just because it’s lacking isn’t it?

my take on their stance now is they would say nothing at all for as long as they can unless they are caught red handed. Otherwise if everything goes well for them, it would straight to the altar announcement

That SECOND tweet below is SO FUNNY!! SYJ can really make HB laugh so much! I also recall another video of SYJ and HB doing GIF poses with the V*AST staff (also incl SYJ's staff?) and SYJ was so funny in her actions, while HB as usual is too shy to do more and just kept laughing at SYJ.....anyone knows what I am talking about? Don't know how to find that tweet/ GIF/ video.

Is this what you were looking for?

I've been curious why the photographer was never approached / interviewed about these photos ... unless the account of the incident has just been hidden amongst all the other articles.

people need to realize that acting is a job, they are not objects made only for entertainment. Their personal life is a personal life and they deserve it just live anyone else. Western artists have a marriage and children and people watch them with other people just fine so why can’t people do the same for korean celebrities? Their relationship is a nice part of liking them but should never be all of it.

omg I so agree with you! I only wish for the masses to heed your advice. If only is that perfect right? Take heed not to compare western and asian cultures especially not for korean entertainment. You need to embrace yourself for a ride
