Andrew Niccol's best work is (and will always be)  The Truman Show, be it as a writer or director. His main genre is futuristic sci-fi, which sounds like this movie has elements of it. Some of his other popular works are Gattaca (Ethan Hawke/Uma Thurman), S1m0ne (Al Pacino) and In Time (Justin Timberlake). All those movies are heavy on sci-fi. 

 

He has worked on both mainstream and indie projects in Hollywood.

Exactly i dont think marriage is out of the picture as a lot can happen between now and March 2021. She doesn’t have to retire to get married to her prince HB. 
She’s so deserved this opportunity.

Great news!  Waiting for it to be reported in Variety and Hollywood Reporter and which studio is backing it up,  Right now, Hollywood is quiet because of the pandemic. Sam Worthington is Hollywood ALister and she SYJ is the biggest Korean star.  This will not be a small budget film.

 

I am sure she is in talks about having representation in Hollywood.  (I am sure the big agencies UTA, Endeavor CAA are clamoring to get her.

 

I am sure HB is proud of her as we are!

YES plus they both support each other in their careers! Getting married wouldn't limit them of those options

Just to give you more reasons to jump for joy and/or be excited about this movie:

 

Andrew Niccol was nominated at the Oscars for Best Original Screenplay for The Truman Show. 

 

SYJ will work with Academy-Award Nominee Andrew Niccol.

 

Here in Hollywood, once you get nominated and/or won an Oscar, you will forever have that qualifier before they introduce/speak your name.

Awesome news for SYJ!  Really exciting to know I can watch one of her films in theaters here in North America at some point 

 

I really like Sam Worthington. I keep wondering when the Avatar sequel(s) will finally be released because that has kept him pretty busy. Are they even done filming? James Cameron is known to take forever to finish his films.

You don't have to have a baby at age 40 lol. Choi Ji woo (who had her cameo on CLOY) recently gave birth to her first child and she is 45 years old!! Age doesn't matter in the end. Plus in reality she is 39 next year but yes she is 40 years old next year if you go by Korean age.

It seems some of us have reservations about this news because we may have certain expectations of what a woman should do after marriage (fingers crossed about the marriage part). And if the shoe were on the other foot and it was news of HB getting casted in a Hollywood movie slated to begin filming in March, I don't think anyone would have any qualms about it. So let's be fair here - a KOREAN WOMAN who has worked her butt off for 20 years in the Korean entertainment industry is getting a crack at Hollywood. How could she possibly pass that up? No one deserves it more than her. Plus this will be a movie (which usually doesn't take as long to film as dramas) filmed in Korea (and not the US). This is a chance for Binjin to show just how supportive of each other and how willing they are to compromise to form a lasting union

For sure its an english film since the main producer is from the west but there might be a korean sub or aside from korean to cater for non-english viewers. 

 

And i guess at this moment of her quietness, she is spending more time polishing her english language skills. Cannot wait for next year yah!!!

I think we should ALL wait for an official confirmation from them before we start panicking that her casting in a movie for Hollywood will push their "lives" back . These type of speculations always bother me because we are not entitled to have opinions as such , yes we can speculate but with a certain degree of understanding.

 

Nothing is set on stone .

 

She was offered a role in a Hollywood movie - set to be filming in Korea if anything - other couple fans in the past have done the same mistakes - dictating lives - placing pressure. We don't even know if they are together or not and you all stressed about it already. Learning from the past mistakes of others can make us better. We are not to repeat the past . Reasons why we always campaigned for them to keep private what they have so fans won't feel entitled to their personal lives to such degree and the media won't turn their lives to a documentary with people invading their privacy. 

 

They are both professionals , if her fans know she loves her job and what she does im sure her "special" one does and wouldn't dictate and keep her from doing that. He would cheer for her and be there for her because its a big step and she deserves to get recognition and work from a field she didn't work before. 

 

People can get married , make plans and work at the same time . Who knows HB might film as well so they will be both busy anyways. 

 

Keep the faith . Girl will need someone to accompany her in the promos abroad if she accepts . Less pictures  this time yeah???

What an amazing news!! No wonder she has kept so quiet post CLOY. They were probably working out all the details for this movie before the official announcements! Great to hear its gonna shoot in Seoul next year. More time to prep and also the pandemic situation will be in better control by then.

Exciting news to hear that SYJ is considering appearing in a Hollywood film. That will certainly up her game! It will not be a surprise should she and HB eventually cross over to Hollywood due to the overwhelming success of CLOY worldwide. Plus the phenomena of CLOY has not waned one bit despite the drama being finished since February, a lot of people from all over are only discovering it now. I have a friend who just watched CLOY last week, and ofcourse unsurprisingly, she found it awesome and wants to beat herself up why it took her so long to see it!

 

What I do hope is if BinJin do make Hollywood projects, that they are good and will have value and relevance, story wise, production wise, a movie that will become successful in every way to mark their entry. Cross, based on the story to film in Korea sounds promising. And I totally support SYJ on this road and firmly believe that her future works will not derail her personal life. A lot of successful actress do balance career and family, and YJ is definitely capable. So you go girl!!!

 

Now, with regards to how much HB gets for his CFs and his fees for dramas, I do agree, it is a staggering amount. Kudos to him as he has worked hard to be where he is now. And i will say it, honey you are worth every penny! What cannot be measured and no amount of money can ever pay, is the joy he brings to fans everywhere, from all walks of life, be it from 7 year olds to 77 years old! 

 

More power to both SYJ and HB! The future is certainly full of promise.
